HAMPTON—Ramona Jean "Susan" Holze, 79, of Hampton, passed away Monday, Nov. 1, 2010, at the Rehabilitation Center of Hampton.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3, at the Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home in Hampton. There will be no visitation. Burial will take place in the Hampton Cemetery. Rocky Woolery will officiate the service.

BRISTOW—Leslie "Les" A. Palmer, 58, of Bristow, passed away Monday, Nov. 1, 2010, at his home in Bristow.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Nov. 4, at the St. James Lutheran Church in Allison, with the Rev. Jeffrey A. Blank officiating. Burial was in the Oak Hill Cemetery in rural Bristow. The Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home in Dumont was in charge of the arrangements.

Eugene Edward Hurd

IOWA FALLS—Eugene Edward Hurd, longtime resident of rural Alden/Popejoy, died peacefully Nov. 2, 2010, at Ellsworth Municipal Hospital in Iowa Falls surrounded by his family.

Services were held Friday, Nov. 5, at the St. Mark's Catholic Church in Iowa Falls. The Surls Funeral Home in Iowa Falls was in charge of the arrangements.

The son of William and Anna (Waltz) Hurd was born near Polson, Mont., on Oct. 18, 1921, the youngest of nine children. The family moved to the Popejoy area when Gene was 3. He graduated from Popejoy High School. Gene married Virginia Andersen in 1942. They went on to farm south of Popejoy together for the next 68 years.

For many years Gene was involved in livestock production. He was on the board at the Iowa State Swine Test Station in Ames and was honored by being named an Iowa Master Swine Producer in 1964.

Gene enjoyed the outdoors and for many years fished and hunted with family and friends along the Iowa River near their farms. He also enjoyed NASCAR racing, attending a number of their races.

Gene is survived by his wife, Virginia; three children, Leslie (Doris) of Popejoy, Bill (Colleen) of Huxley and Joanne (Bob) Williams of Waukee; 10 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Art, Louis, Lloyd, Roy and Donald; and sisters, Rachael, Doris and Vivian.

MG Robert G. Chrisjohn Jr., Ret.

CUMMING—Major General Robert G. Chrisjohn, Ret., 68, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Nov. 4, 2010.

Memorial services were held Monday, Nov. 8, at Iles Funeral Homes-Dunn's Chapel. Private burial was in Alden.

Robert Gene Chrisjohn was born in Iowa Falls on May 11, 1942, to Robert James and Ila Jean (Bessman) Chrisjohn. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1960 and received a bachelor's degree in military science from the University of Omaha in 1966. He began his military career by enlisting in the Iowa Air National Guard in November 1962. After completing advanced pilot training and qualifying in the F-102, he returned to the 124th Fighter Interceptor Squadron where he was employed as a full-time technician. He moved to Pittsburgh, Pa., Jan. 15, 1982, to assume command of the 171st Air Refueling Wing. He was appointed as Deputy Adjutant General for Air, Jan. 11, 1993, and attained the rank of Major General, Sept. 23, 1994. He retired in April of 1995 and made his retirement home in Cumming.

Bob enjoyed outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, golfing and raising horses. He loved spending time with his family and had a special canine friend "Charley."

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Janet E. (Brown) Chrisjohn of Cumming; two daughters, Stephanie (Lydell) Sullenbarger of Petersburg, Ky., and Anne Simonds of Keller, Texas; five grandchildren, Nicholas Simonds, Laura Sullenbarger, John Simonds, Elizabeth Sullenbarger and William Simonds; sister, Barb (Ed) Allen of Des Moines; and two sisters-in-law, Carol (Art) Wittern of Des Moines and Nancy (Joe) Hughes of Brewster, Mass.

David Anthony Crosser

ROBINS—David Anthony Crosser, 52, of Robins, died Thursday, Nov. 4, 2010, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha, of cancer.

Celebration of Life Services were held Tuesday, Nov. 9, at Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Marion, by the Rev. Dale Holloway. Private family inurnment was at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

David was born Feb. 6, 1958, the son of Bill and Barb (Whigham) Crosser, in Eldora. He married Debbie Feller on May 14, 2010, in Robins. David worked for American and American Eagle Airlines for over 30 years in Dallas, Texas, Atlanta, Ga., and Cedar Rapids.

He attended Living Hope Wesleyan Church. David enjoyed golf, fishing, hunting and traveling.

Survivors include his wife, Debbie, and her children, Andy and Callie of Robins; a daughter, Rhegan Crosser of Phoenix, Ariz.; his parents, Bill and Barb Crosser of Cedar Rapids; brother, Greg (Martha) Crosser of Edmond, Okla.; sister, Deb (Brad) Buntz of Robins; and in-laws Bob and Kay Feller of Cedar Rapids. Also surviving are numerous loving family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, and Debbie's son, Austin.

IOWA FALLS—Daniel Lee Manship, 47, of Iowa Falls, passed away Thursday, Nov. 4, 2010, at the Heritage Care Center, Iowa Falls.

Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 8, at the First United Methodist Church, Iowa Falls. Burial was at the Northlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery, Iowa Falls. The Linn's Funeral Home, Iowa Falls, was in charge of the arrangements.

Daniel Lee Manship was born Aug. 6, 1963, at Iowa Falls, the son of Judith Kay (Lee) and Thomas Eugene Manship. Dan attended the Iowa Falls Community Schools, graduating with the class of 1982. He went on to attain an associate's degree in human services from Ellsworth Community College, Iowa Falls. On March 16, 1986, Dan was united in marriage to Cindy Jane Murra at Ames. To this union two daughters were born: Lindsay and Alison. The couple later divorced. Dan worked for Schoeneman Lumber in Ames, and then for Baldwin Hardware, Iowa Falls, where he loved to work with people. He also enjoyed going to the bar and visiting with his many friends. Daniel was at Heritage Care Center for over five years with multiple sclerosis with which he battled all of his life. Whenever anyone stopped to visit him they could expect to have their picture taken.

Daniel Manship is survived by his mother, Judy Manship of Iowa Falls; his children, Lindsay (Dustin) Barber of Popejoy and Alison Lee Manship of Iowa Falls; a brother, Thomas Todd Manship of Apple Valley, Minn.; and two nephews, Kyle and Laik Manship of Apple Valley.

He was preceded in death by his father, Tom Manship; his paternal grandparents, Peggy Manship Waldo and David Manship; and his maternal grandparents, Ernie and Ruby Lee.

Charles Mickey Davis

PLEASANT HILL—Charles Mickey Davis, 62, passed away Friday, Nov. 5, 2010, at Mercy Hospital.

Services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 10, at 11 a.m. at Hamilton's on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway, West Des Moines. Burial will be at Iowa Veterans Cemetery.

Chuck was born on Jan. 26, 1948, in Newton, to Billy and Barbara Quam Davis. He graduated from Newton High School and then joined the U.S. Navy. He served from 1966 to 1970 and spent time in Vietnam. Upon returning home, he attended DMACC and graduated with an electronic engineering degree. In 1973 he joined Koch Brothers as a service technician and worked with them until he took a medical retirement in 1998.

Chuck enjoyed helping others. He volunteered at Lincoln High School as a teacher's assistant in the woodworking class and was always helping a friend with a project. He also enjoyed gardening, fishing, family and his granddaughters.

He will be greatly missed by his wife of 37 years, Joyce Ites Davis; son, Ryan (Elizabeth) of Norwalk; granddaughters, Emily and Morgan; brother, Daniel (Irene) of Highland, Calif.; in-laws, Dale (Sandy) Ites of Marshalltown, Jerry Ites of Fenton, Mo., Larry and Janet Zoske of Eldora, and Richard and Dian Fast of Knoxville; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents; father and mother-in-law, Frank and Ruth Ites; and brothers-in-law, Russell Ites and Steven Donelson.

Luella Ruth Maine

IOWA FALLS—Luella Ruth Maine, 85, of Iowa Falls, died Monday, Nov. 8, 2010, at the Rehabilitation Center of Hampton.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 12, at the Surls Funeral Home in Iowa Falls. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the Surls Funeral Home in Iowa Falls.

Luella Ruth Maine was born on Dec. 31, 1925, in Burt, the daughter of Charles Hunt and Ruth "Mitchell" Hunt. She graduated from Alden High School. On Feb. 10, 1947, she was united in marriage to Lowell Maine in Dodge Center, Minn. Luella was a cashier in the retail field.

She liked to travel, bake and spend time with the family. She also was active in the East Side Ladies Aid.

Luella is survived by her sisters, Iola Tollakson of Johnston, Lola Last of Eldora, and Mavis Day of Vancouver, Wash.; brother, Russell Hunt of Monroe, Wash.; daughter, Marcia Smith of Mason City; and son, Lloyd Maine of Mason City.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; three brothers, James Hunt, Delbert Hunt and Nathan Hunt; daughter, Mary Lou Stubbe; and her son's significant other, Vicki Benson.

Kenneth Nassen

IOWA FALLS—Kenneth Nassen, 81, of Iowa Falls, passed away Monday, Nov. 8, 2010, at the Israel Family Hospice House, Ames.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, at the First Christian Church, Iowa Falls, with Pastor T. J. Norman officiating and Karen Nott as music accompanist. An Elks memorial service will be included in the services. A time of visitation and fellowship will follow the services at the church. Private burial will be at the Union Cemetery, Iowa Falls, with military honors provided by the Hyman-Peavey American Legion Post #188, Iowa Falls. The Linn's Funeral Homes Iowa Falls Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Kenneth Gerald Nassen was born March 15, 1929, at Morris, Minn., the son of Linden (Blankenship) and Albert Joseph Nassen. He graduated from the Iowa Falls Community Schools with the class of 1946. After high school he attended Ellsworth Community College, receiving his Associate Degree. Ken served with the United States Army from Feb. 12, 1951, to Nov. 12, 1952. On July 6, 1955, Ken was united in marriage to Jane B. Haffner at the Cedar Heights Presbyterian Church, Cedar Falls. Kenneth and Jane were publishers of the Iowa Falls Advertiser and North Central Iowa Farmer, retiring in 1991. Ken was a 58-year member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge #1674, Iowa Falls, founder and publisher of the OPPO Newsletter (the POOP sheet spelled in-side out), one of the founders of the Iowa Falls Community Theatre (served as president and onstage, for example, as the Peddler in "Oklahoma" and Felix in "The Odd Couple" and many more productions), one of the founding members of the Meadow Hills Golf Club, served nine years on the Iowa Falls School Board, serving as director, vice president and president and was on the Iowa Falls Chamber of Commerce, serving as director, vice president and president (and also founded the Blue Coats).

Ken was a member of the First Christian Church, Iowa Falls, the Hyman-Peavey American Legion Post #188, Iowa Falls (Past Adjutant) (founder and publisher of the Legions "Fall Out" Newsletter), former Jaycee member, and also founded and was state editor of the Iowa Action newsletter (also bestowed "Boss of the Year") and a former member of the Iowa Falls Lions Club, the United Commercial Travelers Council 509, and Boy Scouts of America. He enjoyed playing in local bands, watching the TV show "M*A*S*H", enjoyed fishing, pheasant hunting, golfing, flying, boating (instrumental in starting Aquarama at Centennial time, 1955), being a clown, traveling, wok cooking, grilling, photography, fixing - building - and designing things. He was a good listener and problem solver (an idea man - if you asked him for an idea, he could come up with several).

Kenneth Nassen is survived by his wife, Jane Nassen of Iowa Falls; his children, Kent David (Suzanna) Nassen of Pinckney, Mich., and Sandra Kay Nassen McKinnon of Warrenton, Mo.; one grandson, Nathan (Jessica) McKinnon of Yorktown, Va.; and one great-grandson, Matthew Briar McKinnon of Yorktown.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Linden Nassen; and a sister, Shirley Nassen Towle.

IOWA FALLS—Terry Jass, 56, of Iowa Falls, died Monday, Nov. 8, 2010, at his home in Iowa Falls.

Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 15, at the Surls Funeral Home in Iowa Falls with burial in the Alden Cemetery.

Terry Jass was born on Oct. 21, 1954, in Iowa Falls, to Marion and Betty (Hutchinson) Jass. Terry graduated Alden High School in 1973. For 27 years, Terry worked in the steel room for Pre-Stressed Concrete. He was baptized at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Alden.

Terry enjoyed sports, collecting sports memorabilia, his short-wave radio, watching television and using his telescope to look at the stars and the planets.

Terry is survived by his mother, Betty of Iowa Falls; brother Steve (Colleen) Jass of Alden; nephew Travis (Dianne) Jass and their children Matthew and Josh from Ft. Dodge; and a niece, Angela (Kris) Reubling Jass of Wilmington, Del.

Terry was preceded in death by his father, Marion; and his sister, Jolene.

Colleen Maguire

IOWA FALLS—Colleen Maguire, 75, of Iowa Falls, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2010, at the Lakeland Health Care Center in Elkhorn, Wis.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, at the St. Mark's Catholic Church in Iowa Falls. Visitation will be one hour before services. Surls Funeral Home of Iowa Falls is in charge of the arrangements.

Colleen Maguire was born on July 14, 1935, in Fort Dodge, to Thomas and Maybelle (O'Brien) Coughlon. Colleen graduated from Corpus Christie High School and then went on to attend Briar Cliff University in Sioux City. On Dec. 26, 1955, Colleen was united in marriage to John Maguire in Fort Dodge. John and Colleen moved to Iowa Falls in 1969 and they owned and operated Maguire Supply.

Colleen is survived by two daughters, Nan (Leo) Simonetti of St. Louis Park, Minn., and Molly (Bruce) Maguire-Reek of Lake Geneva, Wis.; two sisters, Madonna Hoffman of Garden City, Idaho, and Mary Ellen (Terry) Cullen of Oklahoma City, Okla.; and four grandchildren, Jon Reek, Sara Reek, Murphy Simonetti and Riley Simonetti.

Colleen was preceded in death by her parents, T.C. and Maybelle Coughlon; husband, John; and a brother Edward Coughlon.

Memorials can be sent to the Iowa Falls Library, the ALS Foundation or the Arthritis Foundation in Colleen's memory.

Dorothy A. Meyer

IOWA FALLS—Dorothy A. Meyer, 93, of Iowa Falls, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2010, at Scenic Manor Nursing Home in Iowa Falls.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 15, at the First Christian Church in Iowa Falls with burial in the Union Cemetery, Iowa Falls. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the Surls Funeral Home in Iowa Falls.

Dorothy Avonelle Meyer was born on Feb. 6, 1917 in Iowa Falls, the daughter of Floyd and Elizabeth (Scheel) Collins. She graduated from the Iowa Falls High School in 1934 and Ellsworth Junior College in 1936. Dorothy was united in marriage to William Meyer on Sept. 20, 1938, at the Christian Church in Iowa Falls by the Rev. Mrs. L.H. Sours. Dorothy was a housewife and had been a teacher at a country school at Pleasant Valley, District #7.

She was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), was a member and held offices in Christian Women's Fellowship at First Christian Church, Mothers Club, Senior Citizens Center and Senior Bowling League.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, William "Bill" of Iowa Falls; a son, Roger (Mardelle) Meyer of Iowa Falls; a daughter, Betty (Jerry) Gardalen of Gilman; a son, James (Judy) Meyer of Geneva; 11 grandsons, Michael (Cheryl) Meyer of San Marcos, Calif., Mark (Laurie) Meyer of Ripley, Tenn., Paul (Connie) Gardalen of Marshalltown, Rick Meyer of Wayzata, Minn., Brett (Shawna) Meyer of West Des Moines, William (Shannon) Meyer of Waukee, Troy (Marcie) Meyer of Victoria, Minn., Timothy (Melinda) Meyer of St. Louis, Mo., Rodney (Kayla) Meyer of Iowa Falls, Scott (Stacey) Rush of Alden, and Mark (Liz) Rush of Alden; two granddaughters, Kristie (Matt) Steelsmith of Tucson, Ariz., and Annette (Jeff) Duit of Denison; 29 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Eugene; and two sisters, Florence and Jo Marie.

IOWA FALLS—Norm Page, 84, of Iowa Falls, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2010, at his home.

Services were held Friday, Nov. 12, at the St. Mark's Catholic Church in Iowa Falls. Surls Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Norman L. Page was born Oct. 3, 1926, in Woolstock, to Newton and Ermal (Daniels) Page. Norman graduated from Webster City High School and then enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1943 and was discharged in 1946. On Aug. 13, 1949, Norman was united in marriage to Monica Boston in Webster City. In 1990, Norman retired from being a fertilizer salesman.

He was involved with the Elks Club, Moose Lodge, American Legion and the VFW.

Norman is survived by a daughter, Linda (Doug) Bowman of Iowa Falls; three granddaughters, Katie Bowman and fiancée Erik Duncan of Iowa Falls, Michelle (John) Campbell of Oro Valley, Ariz., and Page (Heath) Hansen of Eldora; one grandson, Benjamin Bowman of Waverly; four great-grandsons, Tristen Adams of Iowa Falls, Dylan Campbell of Oro Valley, Levi Campbell of Oro Valley, and Kolbe Hansen of Eldora; sister-in-law Joyce Page of Osceola, Neb.; and a nephew, Craig Page of Osceola, Neb.

Norman was preceded in death by his parents, Newton and Ermal Page; daughter, Janet Petersen; son, Steven Page; brother, Newton Jr.; and a nephew, Rodger Page.

IOWA FALLS—Dorothy Puttkamer, 91, of Iowa Falls, passed away Monday, Nov. 15, 2010, at the Heritage Care Center, Iowa Falls, of pancreatic cancer.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 18, at the Alden Township Cemetery, Alden. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society in Dorothy's name. The Linn's Funeral Home, Iowa Falls, is handling the arrangements.

Dorothy Wilhelmina Matilda Rieks was born June 20, 1919, in Hardin County, the daughter of Herman Henry and Hanna (Muecke) Rieks. She attended the McCoy Country School in Hardin County through the eighth grade. On Jan. 24, 1940, she was united in marriage to William R. "Bill" Puttkamer at Hubbard. She was a seamstress at Welsh Sporting Goods in Iowa Falls, retiring in 1983.

She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Iowa Falls.

Dorothy Puttkamer is survived by her sister, Julie (Henry) Grabamann of Chicago, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; her parents, Hanna and Herman Rieks; one sister, Florence Kennedy; and three brothers, Harold, Martin and Ewald Rieks.

Keith Edwin Nissen

RANDOLPH, NEB.—Keith Edwin Nissen, 84, of Randolph, Neb., died Sunday, Nov. 21, 2010, at Osmond General Hospital in Osmond, Neb.

He was born Oct. 29, 1926, at Plainview, Neb., the son of Edward and Susie (Fosdick) Nissen. He attended Plainview Nigh School and entered the U.S. Army on June 14, 1945, at Fort Riley, Kan., where he was stationed for basic training. He was shipped to Berlin where he served until being discharged on Nov 25, 1946.

After service in the military he worked as a parts manager for car dealerships in Norfolk, Neb., Fort Randall, S.D., and Hartington, Neb., where he met and married his wife, Delores Gubbels, on June 5, 1950, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Hartington. In 1955 the family moved to Iowa Falls, Iowa, and he later worked at Plainview Chevy Garage and in Osage, Iowa. The couple retuned to Iowa Falls for a time until 1995 when he retired. In 1996 Keith moved to Chino Valley, Ariz., to live near his son, Bruce. Keith moved to Randolph in 1999.

His hobbies included fishing and woodworking. He was a member of St. Mark's Catholic Church in Iowa Falls; a member of the Knights of Columbus in Iowa Falls and Chino Valley, Ariz.; a member of American Legion Post #113 of Randolph; and a member of VFW Post #7838 of Osmond.

Survivors include his five children, Debbie Nissen-Bircher and Steven Bircher of Eau Claire, Wis., Bruce and Brenda Nissen of Camden, Tenn., Carla and Terry Juliar of Gurnee, Ill., Mary and James Covey of Early, Iowa, and Paulette Nissen of Des Moines, Iowa; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Yvonne Akers of Randolph; special friend Winnie Janssen of Randolph and her family; and many nieces and nephews.

Keith was preceded in death by his parents, wife Delores, and one brother-in-law, John Akers.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, at Johnson Funeral Home in Randolph, Neb., with interment at St. Frances Catholic Cemetery, Randolph. Military rites will be provided by Alvin Kessler VFW Post #5545 and American Legion Post #113 of Randolph. The Rev. Derrick Fallon of St. John's Lutheran Church, Randolph, will officiate. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.

GOWRIE—Angela M. "Angel" Burger, 33, passed away Sunday, Nov. 21, 2010.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 27, at Zion Lutheran Church, Gowrie, with Pastor Jim Davis officiating. Burial was in the Lost Grove Township Cemetery near Harcourt. Palmer Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include her husband, Tracy Burger of Gowrie; daughter, Elizabeth Burger and son, Alex Burger at home; parents, Frank and Mary Weisberg of Woolstock; sister, Holly Weisberg of Woolstock; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Alan and Nancy Burger of Gowrie; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Chad and Angie Burger and their children, Abbie and Erica of Gowrie; grandmother-in-law, Betty Lane Peterson and her husband Paul of Callender; and other relatives.

Preceding her in death are her grandparents, Charlie and Dorie Cormaney, Franz and Clara Weisberg, and grandfather-in-law, Robert Lane.

Angela Marie Weisberg was born on June 27, 1977, in Clarion. She graduated from the Webster City High School in 1995 and Loras College in Dubuque in 1999. Angela was united in marriage with Tracy Burger on July 24, 1999. She was employed at Stockman's Pet Clinic, Critter Camp and was recently employed at the Farm Bureau Insurance in Gowrie. Angela was involved and active in Zion Lutheran Church and community activities.

Memorials may be left at the family's discretion.

IOWA FALLS—Robert E. Oelmann, 73, of Iowa Falls, passed away Thursday, Nov. 25, 2010, at his home.

At Robert's request, cremation rites have been provided and no formal services are planned. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of North Iowa, Mason City, Iowa. The Linn's Funeral Homes Iowa Falls Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Robert Ernest Oelmann was born Sept. 6, 1937, at his parents' home rural Ackley, the son of Fred and Stientje (Dannen) Oelmann. He attended rural country school. On May 3, 1957, he was united in marriage to Mary Helen Hogendorn. Robert was a farm worker, retiring in 1995. He also enjoyed karaoke, shooting pool and horseshoes. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1331, Iowa Falls.

Robert Oelmann is survived by his wife, Mary Oelmann of Iowa Falls, his children, Debra (Lee) Robison of Iowa Falls, Ernie (Donna) Oelmann of Alden and Kevin Oelmann of Alden; four grandchildren, Travis Robison, Kristy Filloon, Kari (Steve) Eggleston and Noah Oelmann; five great-grandchildren, Promise, Kaitlin, Kayla, Jasmine and Kaylee; two brothers, Raymond (Donna) Oelmann of Beaman and Harvey (Bev) Oelmann of Ackley; and one sister, Martha Heiden of Amery, Wis.

He was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.

Robert A. Wheeler

RADCLIFFE—Robert A. Wheeler, 74, of Radcliffe, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010, at Hubbard Care Center in Hubbard.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Radcliffe, with burial at Radcliffe Cemetery. Boeke Funeral Home in Radcliffe is in charge of the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Hubbard Care Center.

Robert Alvin Wheeler was born Dec. 21, 1935, to Herbert Robin and Marie Albina (Snyder) Wheeler in Garden Grove. He worked various jobs including the Zearing Cheese Factory. In 1968, he and his family moved to Radcliffe, where he had been employed at Eller Feedlot. Then in 1976, he was employed at the Farmer’s Cooperative for 27 years as outside foreman.

After Robert retired, he enjoyed spending time with his longtime companion Betty Johnson, his children and grandchildren. Due to health complications, he moved to the Hubbard Care Center on Aug. 6, 2009, where he completed his life’s journey on Nov. 27, 2010.

Robert leaves to mourn his children, Robert Wheeler (Linda), William Wheeler (Sandy) and Brenda Hinderaker (Glen), all of Radcliffe, Wayne Wheeler (Yvonne) of San Angelo, Texas, Wanda Mennenga (Robert) of Radcliffe, and Vernon Wheeler (Brenda) of Medical Lake, Wash.; son-in-law Brian Howard of Radcliffe; 17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers Herb, Jim and Ron Wheeler; sisters Lois Crabtree, Joann Engelking, Kay Calloway, Sharon Clemons, Joyce Gibson and Sonja Numie; along with many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Marie Wheeler; brother, Ernest Wheeler; daughter, Sandra Howard; and longtime companion, Betty Johnson.
