Ackley Man Dies
From Stab Wounds at Cedar Falls Party
August 23, 2006
CEDAR FALLS--Cedar Falls Police continue to investigate the
circumstances surrounding the stabbing death of an Ackley man Saturday
night. Treye Allen Blythe, 19, was reportedly stabbed at a party at 501
Clay St. in Cedar Falls.
The CFPD responded to a call of a fight at the location. Blythe was
found unconscious by Cedar Falls Police at 9:59 p.m. Saturday night. He
was pronounced dead at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls. An
autopsy will be performed by the State Medical Examiner.
According to family spokesman Dave Roder, the Blythe family was making
arrangements Monday. Details of the incident were not immediately made
clear.
“The family is very distraught,” Roder stated. “They have very little
information and they want to make sure they are not speaking out of
emotion (while the investigation continues).”
Joel Bagley, AGWSR High School principal, indicated that the funeral
service will be held in the high school in Ackley. Superintendent Dr.
Bob Lehman was to meet with the family and funeral director Monday.
Bagley also noted that retired AGWSR Counselor Rosie Lindaman will be on
hand this week to help students deal with the situation as school begins
at AGWSR on Wednesday.
Until then, a number of Blythe’s friends have left personal messages on
his MySpace page. Just hours after the incident, this message appeared,
“I would give anything to see you again just to say goodbye. I love you
man.” That was followed by, “Treye you will be missed by many! But you
are in such a better place now! I will miss ya! What a funny guy you
were in High school!" And, “You are such an unforgettable person that
has impacted so many lives. Wow, I cry in disbelief because I can’t
imagine life without you.”
The Doyen-Abels Funeral Home, of Wellsburg, is in charge of the
arrangements.
