Harriet Elizabeth Clay

Harriet Elizabeth Clay, 70, of McAllister, MT, died in her home on May 8, 1996. K & L Mortuaries of Ennis, MT, was in charge of arrangements.

Harriet was born August 29, 1925, in Marshalltown, the daughter of David Mason and Ethel May (Patton) Head.

Harriet graduated valedictorian from Liscomb High School. She married Raymond H. Clay in July 1948. The couple ran the mill in Protivin from 1948 to 1954. After the mill burned, they moved to Montana where they purchased Lake Shore Lodge with an adjacent farm, which they operated until 1971. Since then, Harriet lived in her home on Ennis Lake.

She was active in the Madison Valley Baptist Church and in the community.

Harriet is survived by two sons: Gregory of Tonopah, NV, and Lester of Bozeman, MT; a granddaughter.
