A Mass of Christian Burial for Merle N. Halvorson of New Hampton, IA was held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 23, 2008 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Lourdes with Msgr. John Hemann officiating. Organist was Jane Karels. The St. Bernard's men's choir and the North Washington men's choir sang: "Just A Closer Walk With Thee", "The Old Rugged Cross", "The Strife is O're The Battle is Done", "It's Not the First Mile", and "On Eagle's Wings". Pallbearers were: Jacob Halvorson, Justin Halvorson, Nick Huber, Luke Huber, Louis Reicks and Jordan Gray. Interment was held in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery in Lourdes, IA. Military rites with the Alta Vista VFW Post #4069 were held.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Grace Rupple of Decorah, IA was held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at St. Benedict's Catholic Church in Decorah with Rev. Phillip Gibbs officiating. Lector was Mary Jane Maly. Organist was Mary Beth Bouska and Cindy Schissel was Cantor. Songs were: "Here I Am Lord", "In The Garden", "On Eagles Wings", "When Irish Eyes Are Smiling". Offertory was carried by Raven and Nina Martin. Honorary pallbearers were: all of Grace's friends. Pallbearers were: Alan Gaul, Joe Gaul, Pat Gaul, and Duane Gaul. Interment was held in St. Benedict's Catholic Church Cemetery in Decorah, IA.
