Irene Klimesh

A Mass of Christian Burial for Irene J. Klimesh of Spillville, IA was held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 22, 2005 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Spillville, IA with Rev. Donald Hawes officiating.

Organist was Doris Thompson and soloist was Dan Silhacek and St. Wenceslaus choir singing "Here I Am, Lord," "Ave Maria," "On Eagle's Wings," "Going Home," and "In the Garden." Lector was Michael Klimesh and Eucharistic Ministers were Jason and Olivia Darrah. Pallbearers were: Bill Frey, Eric Darrah, Jason Darrah, Adam Klimesh, Michael Klimesh, Derrick Klimesh, Ryan Kalwarowsky, and Ross Kalwarowsky. Interment was in St. Wenceslaus Catholic Cemetery in Spillville, IA.

Balik Funeral Home in Spillville, IA handled the arrangements.

Irene, 86, died Tuesday, December 20, 2005 at her home following a long illness.

Irene Joan (Prohaski) Klimesh was born on January 11, 1919 in Clear Lake, IA, the daughter of Ben and Paula (Ciepialkowski) Prohaski. Irene attended school in Clear Lake.

She married Otto A. Klimesh of Spillville, IA, on September 9, 1942 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Clear Lake. Irene loved to bake for her family. She enjoyed gardening and feeding the birds. She had a very loving heart for all of her family and pets. Irene worked in the hot lunch program at St. Wenceslaus Catholic School in Spillville, Aase Haugen Nursing Home, Oneota Riverview Care Facility, the Cliff House and was manager of the Inwood Ballroom.

She was a member of the Ladies Guild and St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church and the Civic Improvement Association in Spillville.

Irene's survivors include her three daughters: Mary (Roger) Benda of Spillville, IA, Emily (Steve) Kalwarowsky of St. Albert, Alberta, Canada and Cathy (John) Darrah of Dubuque, IA; three sons: Tom Klimesh of Spillville, IA, Peter (Theresa) Klimesh of Spillville, IA and Dan (Diane) Klimesh of Ridgeway, IA; 15 grandchildren; 13 great- grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and one brother-in-law: Charlie Mikesh of Calmar, IA.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Otto on December 24, 1983; one sister: Helen Mikesh; one brother: Ben Prohaski, Jr.; one granddaughter: Christie Klimesh; and one great- grandson: Shawn Anderson.


Vince Hosek

Funeral services for Vince Hosek will be held at 11:00 a.m. today, Wednesday, December 28 at Notre Dame Parish-Assumption Worship Center in Cresco.

Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Cresco.

Visitation was held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Conway Funeral Home and also one hour prior to services on Wednesday at the church. There was a Scripture Service at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Conway Funeral Home in Cresco is handling the arrangements.

Vince, 86, died Saturday, December 24, 2005 at his home after a short illness.
