Kenneth Leo Lines, 93, of Nashua, died Monday, March 29, 2010, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 5, at the Hugeback & Chenoweth Funeral Home in Nashua with interment in Sunnyside Memory Gardens, rural Charles City.

Friends may call 3-7 p.m. Sunday, April 4, at the Hugeback and Chenoweth Funeral home in Nashua. Visitation continues an hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Online condolences for Kenneth may be left at hugebackfuneralhome.com

Kenneth Leo Lines was born Dec. 16, 1916, in West St. Charles Township, Floyd County, the son of Archie Charles and Bertha Pauline (Hobert) Lines. He received his education in rural country schools and attended Nashua High School.

On Aug. 28, 1940, Kenneth married Josephine Lambert. The couple adopted two children together, David and Janice. They later divorced. On March 4, 1954, in Austin, Minn., he married Valeda R. Winkelman. Kenneth and Valeda farmed together in the Nashua area for many years. Kenneth also did some carpentry and plumbing work as well as custom farming.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Valeda; one son, Paul (Christi) Lines of Nashua; one daughter, Gloria (Richard) Wyborny of Charles City; one adopted son, David (Nancy) Lines of Canyonville, Ore.; one adopted daughter, Janice (Paul) Hantleman of Hopkins, Minn.; eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; a son-in-law, Larry Bunston of Ionia; one brother, Guy Lines of Charles City; and a half-sister, Beldyne Ferch of Waterloo.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Donna Mae (Bonzer) Bunston; three brothers, Volna Lines, Clifford Lines and Russell Bean; and a sister, Helen Goetsch.

NORA SPRINGS — Robert “Bob” John Krueger, 83, of 1740 Dogwood Avenue, died Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at North Iowa Mercy Health Center, Mason City.

A funeral service for Robert will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 3, at Sheckler Colonial Chapel, 114 N. Hawkeye Ave., Nora Springs, with Reverend Dr. Jennifer Edinger from the St. Luke Lutheran Church, Nora Springs, officiating. Burial will take place in Park Cemetery, Nora Springs; with military honors conducted by members of American Legion H.D.S. Post 449.

A visitation will be held today (Friday) from 5-7 p.m. at Sheckler Colonial Chapel, 114 North Hawkeye, Nora Springs.

Ferdinand Steinlage, 79, of New Hampton, died on Friday, April 2, 2010, at his home, north of Jerico, with his family gathered around him.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 am on Tuesday, April 6, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Lourdes. Burial will be at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Cemetery in Lourdes, with Ferdinand’s nine children serving as casket bearers.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. on Monday, April 5, with a rosary at 4:30 pm and a scriptural wake service at 7 p.m. at Conway-Kolbet Funeral Home in New Hampton. Leonard Kristiansen, 85, of Nashua, died April 1, 2010, at the Floyd County Medical Center Hospice Unit, Charles City after a 14-year extended illness.

Services for Leonard Kristiansen will be held Tuesday, April 6, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, Nashua. The Reverend Tom Hagen will preside. Musical selections at the funeral will include a favorite family hymn, “Whispering Hope,” on guitar by Leonard’s daughter, Laurie; violin by Leonard’s niece, Lisa Mysnyk of Iowa City, and flute by Rhonda Westergard, Charles City.

Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, Nashua, with military graveside rites conducted by the Nashua VFW Post 6792.

Louise M. Moore, 88, was released from Mercy Hospital Critical Ward and transferred to North Iowa Hospice Friday, April 2, 2010, about 3 p.m. She died there about 9:30 p.m. the same day from complications of her heart condition.

At her wishes, Louise will be cremated. A gravesite ceremony is planned for Saturday, April 17, at 11 a.m. at the Riverside Cemetery in Rockford. There will not be a visitation.

BOONE ��� Marjorie Francilla Simerson, 85, of Boone, and a resident of the Evangelical Free Church Home of Boone since February 2003, passed away on Sunday, April 25, 2010, at the home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 29, at Walter-Schroeder Funeral Home located at Fifth and Story streets in Boone with Rev. Phil Webb officiating.

Burial will be in the Linwood Park Cemetery in Boone.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 28, at the Walter Schroeder Funeral Home, located at Fifth and Story streets in Boone from 4-8 p.m., with the family present at this time. Visitation will continue on Thursday at the funeral home from 8 a.m. to the time of service at 10:30 a.m.

Memorial may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Evangelical Free Church Home of Boone, in memory of Marjorie Francilla Simerson.

Michael Putz, 45, of Orlando, Fla., formerly of Charles City, died Sunday, April 25, 2010, at his home with his loving family at his side after a courageous two year battle with cancer.

Funeral services for Michael Putz will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 4, at the Hauser Funeral Home. Reverend Tom Geelan will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery at Charles City.
