January 4, 2000 Obituary 

Dr. Richard Bird 

WATERLOO - Dr. Richard J. Bird, 69, of Waterloo, died Thursday, Dec. 30, 1999, at the Manorcare Health Services of complications of hepatitis.

Graveside funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 3, 2000, at the Riverside Cemetery in Charles City. Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel in Waterloo was in charge of the arrangements.


January 4, 2000 Obituary 

John Myers

John C. Myers, 62, of Charles City and formerly of Waterloo, died Friday, December 31, 1999, at Floyd County Hospital in Charles City.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2000, at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home in Cedar Falls. Burial will be in the Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, also in Cedar Falls.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services.


January 4, 2000 Obituary -

David Swant

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. - David E. Swant, 49, of Coral Springs, Fla., and formerly of Charles City, died Dec. 23, 1999.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Dec. 27, 1999, at the St. Vincent Catholic Church in Margate, Fla. Entombment followed in the Queen of Heaven Mausoleum.

January 6, 2000 Obituary - Andrew 'Cal' Orr

Andrew 'Cal' Orr, 80, of 2 Glen Oak Circle, Charles City, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 1999, at the Floyd County Memorial Hospital in Charles City.

Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 9, 2000, at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Charles City. Pastor Mitchell will preside.

His body was donated to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn.

 Wilda Grier

Wilda Beth 'Billie' Grier, 74, of Moreno Valley, Calif., and formerly of Charles City, died Nov. 21, 1999, at Parkview Community Hospital Medical Center in Riverside, Calif.

January 25, 2000 Obituary - Margaret Pecinovsky

Margaret V. Pecinovsky, 86, of Polk City, died Thursday, Dec. 30, 1999, of a heart ailment at the Kavanaugh House in Polk City.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 27, 2000, at the Merle Hay Funeral Home in Des Moines. A memorial service will also be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000, at the Conway Funeral Home in Elma. Mrs. Pecinovsky donated her body to the Osteopathic College of Medicine.

The family will greet friends an hour before service time at the funeral home.

 Vernon Krumrey

Vernon F. Krumrey, 81, a resident of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., died Friday, Dec. 31, 1999, at the Kearsage Lake Havasu Nursing Center.

A double memorial with his wife, Ann Krumrey, will be held at the Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Lake Havasu City, Ariz., at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 27, 2000.

Kenneth Kyle

JOPPA, Md. - Kenneth J. Kyle, 60, of Joppa, Md., died Dec. 23, 1999, at his home of cancer.

There was no memorial service as his body was donated to The Johns Hopkins Medical Center.
