Dorothy Jane Norris

LA CROSSE, WISCONSIN - Dorothy Jane Norris, 99, died peacefully in her sleep Friday, November 1, 2013, at Bethany Riverside Care Center in La Crosse.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 8, 2013, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Mason City, with Pastor Sean McRoberts officiating. Interment will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home on Friday. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Dorothy J. Norris memorial fund in care of the family.

Dorothy Jane Norris was born November 20, 1913, in Rockford, Iowa, the daughter of Alfred and Birdie (Cook) Symes. She was raised on a farm in Rockford, Iowa, and married Edward Norris on March 1, 1941, in Mason City, Iowa.

They farmed north of Mason City while raising their three children: Ralph, Karen, and Sheryl. She lived on the family farm until she moved to town in 1976.

Dorothy retired from St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in 1978. After her retirement, she traveled and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren before she settled down in La Crosse, Wis. She often traveled back to Mason City with a dear friend, Martha Davis, and they made sure to stop at every restaurant they came upon. Dorothy was known for her amazing sense of humor and sharing a persistent smile with all that came to know her.

Dorothy enjoyed playing cards with her friends, needlework, dancing, listening to Lawrence Welk and the Statler Brothers, baking, and spending as much time as she could with her beloved family. She was renown amongst family and friends for her homemade peanut clusters, constantly baking bread, and her scrumptious cinnamon rolls. On Sunday nights, you could rest assured Dorothy was at home munching on popcorn, enjoying her fudge and watching "60 Minutes." Dorothy was also a proud member of First United Methodist Church and Queen Rebecca's Lodge for many years.

Dorothy is survived by her children: Ralph (Tammy) Norris of San Clemente, Calif.; Karen Riordon of Palatine, Illinois; Sheryl (Ken) Davis of Onalaska, Wisconsin; grandchildren: Scott (Verena) Davis of Onalaska, Wisconsin; Sarah (Paul) Craig of Holmen, Wisconsin; Brad Norris of Orange, Calif.; and Greg (Sarah) Norris of San Clemente, Calif. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren she deeply adored: Hannah and Gavin Davis, and Emily Norris.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward in 1973; two brothers, Walter and Ray Symes; and two sisters, Clara Baker and Ethel Symes.

Dorothy lived an extremely rich and fulfilling life; she will be deeply missed by her friends and family.

Dorothy Milich

Dorothy Milich, age 89, died October 30, 2013 at Wm. Beaumont Royal Oak Hospital, Royal Oak, Michigan.

A graveside service for Dorothy Milich will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Riverside Cemetery at Charles City.

Dorothy was born June 28, 1924, in Charles City, Iowa to the late Luka and Djurdja (Kovacevich) Micich. Dorothy was a key-punch operator for Chrysler Corporation. She was a founding member of St. Stevan Decanski Serbian Orthodox Church and K.S.S. St. Petka. Dorothy was a graduate of Charles City High School.

Beloved wife of the late Novak Milich who predeceased her in 2004. Dearest mother of Danilo, Nada Northey and Danica (Terri Klinsky) Milich. Loving grandmother of Nikola Milich. Dear sister-in-law of Connie Micich. Dear sister of the late Bosko Micich, Djurdja Micich, George Micich, Lozo Micich, Michael Micich, Robert Micich and Mary Walk. Dear aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held Saturday 3-8 p.m. and Sunday 1-8 p.m. with a Pomen at 7 p.m. Sunday evening at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr in Warren, Mich. Funeral service was held Monday 11 a.m. at St Stevan Decanski Serbian Orthodox Church, 14235 E. Eleven Mile Rd. in Warren, Michigan.

Memorials to the American Diabetes Association and St Stevan Decanski are appreciated by the family.

Von Chambers, 86, of Charles City, died Saturday, October 26, 2013, at the Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City.

Memorial services for Von Chambers will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church. Pastor Ruth Yeaton will officiate. Inurnment will be in Riverside Cemetery at Charles City.

The family will greet friends at the church an hour prior to the service.

Von Monte Chambers was born September 4, 1927, at Charles City, the son of Richard and Leona (Tolliver) Chambers. He graduated from Charles City High School in 1947. Von was in the United States Army during World War II serving in the South Pacific. On June 13, 1948, he was united in marriage to Gloria Rice at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. For 41 years he was employed at Oliver/White Farm Equipment Company. He was a member of First Baptist Church, V.F.W., Heritage Club and Farm Bureau. Von liked to do yard work, vegetable and flower gardening, watching westerns and going to coffee at Hy-Vee with his friends. Von's greatest joy was to be with his family and share in life's experiences with them.

Living family members include his wife of 65 years, Gloria Chambers of Charles City; two daughters, Becky (Pete) Johnston of Ionia and Vicky (David) Rich of Algona; 8 grandchildren, Pat Johnston, Jason Johnston, Jody Mulligan, Lisa Kettwig, Matt Chambers, Kelly Evans, Laura Hoover and Eric Rich; 13 great grandchildren; brother, Gene Chambers of Charles City; and sisters, Lois Frieberg of Charles City and Lola Hesse of Cedar Falls.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, David Chambers; infant brother; two brothers-in-law; and daughter-in-law.

Jane Knudsen

Jane Knudsen, 77, of Titonka, died Tuesday, October 29, 2013, at the Good Samaritan Society of Algona.

She was born to the late Grace and Clarence Hubbard, September 11, 1936, in Leon. Jane graduated from Leon High School in 1954 and attended Parsons College in Fairfield. There she met and married the late Jack Knudsen and they lived in Renwick, later relocating to Nashua where they lived and raised a family. After she and Jack divorced in 1978, she later lived in Mason City, Charles City, and for some years in Grants, New Mexico to be near her daughter Betsy and grandson Ryan.

Jane worked in the Charles City schools at Jefferson Elementary, and also enjoyed a long career at Skyline Harvestore in Nashua where she was an Operations Manager. She also worked for Iowa Small Business Employers (ISBE) in Mason City and most recently at Lincoln Elementary School in Charles City as an aide until her retirement in 2010.

Jane was an active member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Nashua, and in later years St. Johns Lutheran Church in Charles City. Jane also was a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood in Nashua and Grants, N.M. She most enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, her grandchildren, and her beloved dog, Duke.

Jane is survived by two children: Betsy Knudsen (Darwin Engelbarts) of Titonka and Jennifer Knudsen (Geraldo Perez) of New York City. She also is survived by three grandchildren: Ryan Knudsen, Andres Perez and Sophia Perez. Also left to cherish her memory are three nieces: Rebecca Key, Joyce Kurth and Sue Pitman.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Grace and Clarence Hubbard, and her sister Myrna Ruth Pitman.

Wayne Hoskins, 80, of Charles City, died Tuesday, November 5, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center North Iowa in Mason City.

Funeral services for Wayne Hoskins will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday at Trinity United Methodist Church in Charles City. There will also be a service held 2:30 p.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church in Jefferson. Pastor Jim Beranek will officiate. Burial will be in Jefferson Cemetery at Jefferson.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday and at Trinity United Methodist Church Monday one hour prior to the service. Visitation will also be at First Presbyterian Church in Jefferson at 1:30 p.m. until service time.

Wayne Eldon Hoskins was born August 20, 1933 on the family farm near Churdan, Iowa, the son of Roy and Myrtle (Silbaugh) Hoskins. He was educated in country schools through 8th grade in Greene County, and then graduated from Jefferson High School. Wayne enlisted into the Army for three years from 1953-1956 and when he was honorably discharged returned home to attend and graduate from Iowa State University. Wayne was united in marriage to Joanne Aldrich on August 20, 1958 at the EUB Church in Toledo, Iowa; this union was blessed with three children. He taught Agricultural Education for one and a half years in Story City, worked as a farm loan solicitor for Metropolitan Life Insurance for 25 years, worked for 1st Security Bank for five years and was a farm manager for 15 years.

Wayne was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where he was active in the men's group and as a member of the finance and trustee committees. He was also a member of Kiwanis, the VFW (both Charles City and Dayton) and Masonic Lodge. Wayne enjoyed fishing, reading, Bloomberg Financial Markets, farm workshops, farm auctions, visiting about farmland and values, traveling, going to reunions and taking Sunday drives to look at farmland. He particularly loved spending time with his loving family, especially his grandson Hunter. Wayne had a very close personal relationship with Santa Clause's visits in Charles City. Farming and caring for the farm animals was never a job for Wayne, it was a love and a hobby.

Living family members include his wife of 55 years, Joanne of Charles City; three children: Jeffrey (Elizabeth) Hoskins of Parker, Colo., Janelle Hoskins of Las Vegas, Nev. and Jill (Steven) Esparza of Henderson, Nev.; one grandson, Hunter Esparza; two brothers: Wendell (Darlene) Hoskins and Warren Hoskins all of Jefferson; two sisters: Wilma (Clarence) Meinecke of Sheldon and Wanda Hade (friend Gary) of Gowrie; along with nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister-in-law, Judy Hoskins; and brother-in-law, Harlan Hade.

Steven Harman

Steven Harman, 65, of Iowa City died Wednesday, October 30, 2013, at Windmill Manor in Coralville.

A gathering of family and friends for Steven Harman will be held Friday from 5 - 7 p.m. at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City. Inurnment will be at a later date.

Steven Duane Harman was born May 8, 1948 in Webster City, the son of Leo Milford and Shirley Ann (Porter) Harman. He attended school at Charles City High School, Morningside College and Kirkwood College. Steven worked as a police and sheriff dispatcher, worked in ministry, in motel management, as a computer programmer and cab driver. He lived many places throughout his life including Charles City; Sioux City; Rochester, Minn.; Nashua, N.H.; Belle Plaine and Iowa City. Steven was a member of the Charles City and Cedar Rapids C.B. Club. He owned a ceramic shop, had received his pilot license and enjoyed collecting trains, wolf, wizard and dragon memorabilia.

Living family members include his daughter, Cherilyn (Mark) Gendron of Moxie, Wash.; son, Jason Harman of Yakima, Wash.; three grandchildren: Shannon, Joey and Brittany Gendron; one great-grandson, Aymes Joel; two sisters: Carolyn (Donnie) Lokenvitz and Connie (Dale) Nicholson all of Charles City; very special cousin, Terry Sue (Jim) Tourville of Omaha, Neb.; aunt, Cleanne St. John of Fairmont, Minn.; along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Shirley Harman; son, Shane; grandparents; and many aunts and uncles.

Kathleen Ann Toepfer Barr was born September 19, 1946, at Charles City, the daughter of Ralph and Lucille (Hosper) Toepfer. She graduated from Charles City High School in 1964 and from Hamilton Business College in Mason City. On April 23, 1966, she was united in marriage to Richard Barr at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Charles City. For 28 years Kathy worked at the Floyd County Medical Center. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Her interests included NASCAR, watching the Cubs, Packers and Hawkeyes, collecting Boyd's Bears, flower gardening and her pets. She also enjoyed the outdoors and family camping.

Living family members include her husband Richard Barr of Charles City, three children, Amy Barr of Charles City, Scott Barr of Des Moines and Michael (Meg) Barr of Bettendorf; six grandchildren, Ben, Amelia, Cameron, Gavin, Grayson and Greenlee; a brother, Richard (Bernice) Toepfer of Charles City; and her pets, Zeva, Riley and Rudy.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Andrew Cerio

Birth: April 3, 1940
Death: November 7, 2013

Andrew "Andy" Cerio, 73, of Charles City died Thursday, November 7, 2013, at his home.

A funeral Mass for Andy Cerio will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery at Charles City.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday where the Rosary will be prayed at 4 p.m. and a Prayer Service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will continue Wednesday at the church an hour prior to the Mass.

Andrew David Cerio was born April 3, 1940 in Syracuse, NY, the son of Anthony and Elvera (Anderson) Cerio. He graduated from Nottingham High School and attended Northwest Missouri State University. Andy served in the United States Army in Germany. On February 5, 1966, he was united in marriage to Inge Moses in Germany. During his working career Andy was employed with Borg Warner Corporation, White Farm Equipment Company and G&L Products as quality control and general manager.

He was an active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church where he served in different capacities. Other memberships included the Housing Board, Rotary Club where he served as secretary. He also received the Paul Garthwaite Award, became a Paul Harris Fellow and received the President Award in 2005. He was also active in the community having been on the Charles City Council from 1985-1992 and from 2004-2011, Charles City Library board and the United Way. Andy enjoyed traveling, woodworking, coaching Little League and was a competitive tennis player having advanced to the Syracuse City Championships in the 1950's. He will be remembered as a loving husband and devoted father who always took time to share life's experiences with his family.

Living family members include his wife, Inge Cerio of Charles City; three children, Debra Anne (Carl) Cerio-Dubois of Boulder, Colo., Nicole (Stephen) Clymer of Cedar Rapids and Andrew (Robin) Cerio of Eagan, Minn.; and four grandchildren, Samuel and Henry Clymer and Madeline and Abigail Cerio.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Anthony Cerio.

Russell Guthart

Russell Guthart, 87, of Charles City, died Thursday, November 7, 2013, at the 9th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City.

Funeral services for Russell Guthart will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Messiah Lutheran Church. Pastor Jane Keel will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery at Charles City. Military honors will be conducted by the Charles City Ceremonial Unit.

Friends may call at Messiah Lutheran Church from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday and an hour prior to the service on Saturday.

Russell Clarence Guthart was born March 5, 1926, at his parents' home in Charles City, the son of Clarence and Tomena (Hereid) Guthart. He was baptized and confirmed at Saint John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Charles City. He graduated in 1943 from Charles City High School. Russell attended the University of Iowa for a year before entering into the United States Navy. While in the Navy he served aboard the destroyer USS Gleazes during World War II. After his discharge, he returned to the University of Iowa graduating with a Commerce Degree. On May 10, 1953, he was united in marriage to Nola "Dody" Dawson. To this union four daughters were born. Russ was employed with the United States Post Office for 33 years, retiring as the postmaster.

Russ was a charter member of Messiah Lutheran Church and served on the church council, worship committee, and sang in the choir. He was also a member of the American Legion for 66 years and the Charles City Ceremonial Unit for 56 years. Russ enjoyed hunting, fishing, tennis, swimming and exercising. Other interests included playing cards, golfing, going to the YMCA, shopping, traveling, walking and flower gardening. Family was always important to Russ and he especially looked forward to the holiday family gatherings.

Living family members include his wife, Dody Guthart of Charles City; four daughters, Deb (Don) McInroy of Floyd, Becky (Mike) Thome of Charles City, Pat Hamrick of New Hope, Minnesota, and Tammy (Brad) VanHorn of Eagan, Minnesota; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Avis Stubenvoll.

David Leonard Klink

ROCKFORD, IOWA - David L. Klink, 66 of 1455 Hwy 147, Rockford, died following a car accident west of Charles City, on November 8, 2013.

David Leonard was born on April 15, 1947, at the old Cedar Valley Hospital in Charles City, the first son of Leonard L. and E. Mildred "Inman" Klink. He was a graduate of the Rudd Rockford, Marble Rock High School with the class of 1965. As a youngster, he was a member of 4-H and excelled in showing cattle.

David was baptized, confirmed and married at the First United Methodist Church. He was united in marriage to Marge Scott at the Rockford First United Methodist Church on May 30,1987. David was a hard worker and always on the go. If he was not at home you could find him visiting with friends and family at work or home. He resided in the family home in Rockford. His younger career was involved with the railroad in Charles City until his first heart attack. He then held various positions with Trettin Farms for over 20 years until his retirement.

David is survived by his only brother, Alvin, and his wife Susan Klink of Marble Rock; his nieces and nephews, Michael (Vivian) Klink, Nora Springs, Leroy Klink and his girlfriend Dara Davies, Marble Rock, Shelley (Adam) Parks, Mitchell, Rhonda Thompson and her boyfriend Aaron Baker, Charles City, Edna (Adam) Blakewell, Charles City; great-nephews and great-nieces, Jermey Stephens, Des Moines, Jeffery and Bryanna Stephens, Charles City, Wesley, Macabe and Colten Klink, Greene, Kayelea Parks, Mitchell, Damian and Darrius Blakewell, Charles City; two stepsons;, and many cousins and friends.

David was preceded in death by his parents Leonard and Mildred, wife Marge, sister-in-law Nancy Klink, grandparents L.W. and Edna Inman, Paul and Anna Klink and his great-grandmother Euphenia Morse and many aunts and uncles, including Loren and Darlene Inman.

Sally Rae Jenkins

Birth: April 26, 1943
Death: November 9, 2013

Service: 2 p.m., Wednesday, November 13, 2013, Hauser Funeral Home

Sally Jenkins, 70, of Charles City, Iowa, died Saturday, November 9, 2013, at Hospice of North Iowa in Mason City.

Memorial services for Sally Jenkins will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hauser Funeral Home. Pastor Debra Lincoln of Jordan River will officiate. Inurnment will be in Sunnyside Memory Gardens rural Charles City.

The family will greet friends an hour prior to the service.

Sally Rae Jorgensen Jenkins was born April 26, 1943, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of Arthur and Cleone (Kennard) Jorgensen. She graduated from Crestwood High School in 1961 and received her Associate Degree in counseling from Marycrest College in Davenport. On November 19, 1966, she was united in marriage to Joseph Jenkins. They later divorced. Sally spent most of her working career as a substance abuse counselor at Davenport. She was a member of Jordan River where she was a lay leader, Alcoholics Anonymous having celebrated 30 years of sobriety, and volunteered at the food pantry/community kitchen. Sally also was very proud of being a Foster Grandparent for several years.

Living family members include two daughters, Jeannette Jenkins of Seattle, Wash. And Elizabeth Jenkins of Charles City; five grandchildren, Ayla Perry, Taya Perry, Sacoya Jenkins, Ali Clay and Asher Clay; two sisters, Nancy Carpenter of Colorado and Patricia (Mike) Fitzgerald of Decorah; and a brother, Charles (Jeanne) Jorgensen of Maquoketa.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Jordan River or Messiah Food Pantry/Kitchen.

Frances Louise (Anderson) Ashley

Birth: May 23, 1920
Death: November 10, 2013

Service: Thursday, November 14, 2013, Hauser Funeral Home

Frances Ashley, 93, of Charles City, died Sunday, November 10, 2013, at her home surrounded by her family.

Funeral services for Frances Ashley will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Hauser Funeral Home. Reverend John Hemann will officiate. Burial will be in Deerfield Cemetery rural Colwell.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and an hour prior to the service on Thursday.

Frances Louise Anderson was born in Carville, IA, (an old settlement south of Charles City, in Floyd County) on May 23, 1920, the daughter of Ernest and Nellie (Woodiwiss) Anderson. She attended country school in her elementary years and graduated from the Charles City High School in 1938. After graduation, Frances started working as a nurse at the hospital in Elma, IA for Dr. Hastings. While working at the hospital she met Franklin Jesse Ashley and the two were united in marriage on June 20, 1942 in Spring Valley, Minnesota, at the Methodist Church by Reverend Evans. To this union four children were born and raised.

Frances quit work to be a stay at home mother but was also known as being the neighborhood nurse for whoever needed help. Frankie and Frances resided on the Ashley family farm in rural Bassett, where Frances has lived for the last 71 years. In 1974 Frances returned to the workforce as a Floyd County Home Health Aide and in home personal care attendant until her retirement in 2003 and the age of 83! Her nursing career brought her many great experiences, including delivering her youngest brother Allan "Andy" in 1941.

During her life she was involved with many organizations including the Royal Neighbors of America, the Moose, the Elks, Washington School PTA, Democratic Party, Central Democratic Committee of Chickasaw County, President of Ladies Democrat and Women's Relief Corp. Frances and her husband claimed to be "Salvation Universalists" where "everywhere is my church."

She hosted many events in her home and was known to be able to serve over 100 people and never washing a dish due to her many dish sets. She also hosted "roundtable morning coffee" every morning with many area neighbors. Frances enjoyed time with her family, crocheting, and dancing to a good Polka/ Waltz/ Shotish. She was able to see all grandchildren get married, and had the honor of having 11 of the 13 grandchildren and their families within a 30 mile radius of her home.

Living family members include three children, Marvelyn (Clayton) Lines of Marble Rock, James (Marguerite) Ashley of Bassett and Faye (Bill) Klassen of Ionia; a daughter-in-law, Mary Ashley of Bassett; 13 grandchildren and spouses; 29 great grandchildren, a great-great-grandson to be born in December; a sister, Evelyn Bonsall of Waterloo; a brother, Allan "Andy" Anderson of Stevensville, Mont., and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frankie Ashley; a son, Martin Ashley; 4 infants in pregnancy/childbirth; 2 great grandchildren who were stillborn; a brother and wife, Lloyd and Alice Anderson; a sister and husband, Edna and Arlan "Barney" Banks; a brother-in-law, Donald Bonsall; and a sister-in-law, Donna Anderson.

Dean Alfred Groshens

Birth: April 30, 1915
Death: November 11, 2013

Service: Friday, November 15, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. Hauser Funeral Home

Dean Groshens, 83, of Charles City, died Monday, November 11, 2013, at the Floyd County Medical Center.

Funeral services for Dean Groshens will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday at Hauser Funeral Home. Sister Diana Blong will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery at Charles City. Military honors will be conducted by the Charles City Ceremonial Unit.

Dean Alfred Groshens was born April 15, 1930, in Woolstock, Iowa, the son of Paul Alfred and Hazel Eska (Payne) Groshens. Dean was a veteran of the Korean War where he served in the artillery battery of the Army, and he was honorably discharged in 1954. Dean was united in marriage to Phyllis Marie Osier on January 14, 1956, in Greene, Iowa. He worked for Oliver and White Farm Equipment in Charles City until they closed, and then worked for Allied Construction until his retirement in 2002. Dean was a life member and past Quartermaster of the V.F.W. in Charles City. He enjoyed playing cards, dancing, reading and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Living family members include his three sons: Doug (Rhonda) Groshens of Rudd, Jerry (Kathy) Groshens of Plymouth and Tom Groshens of Bemidji, Minnesota; grandchildren: Terri Fitzpatrick, Kelli Soesbe, Jennifer Newman, Brenda Haubrich, Becky Groshens, Emily Groshens and Ben Groshens; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Donald (Betty) Groshens of Oneida, Wisconsin; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis, in 2000; his parents; and his sister, Doris Wilson.

Orley "John" Mayfield, Jr.

Orley "John" Mayfield, Jr., 76, of Ft. Pierce, Fla., formerly of Charles City, died Sunday, Nov. 10, 2013, at Lynmoore at Lawnwood Assisted Living in Ft. Pierce.

Orley "John" Mayfield was born April 29, 1937, in Charles City, the son of Orley John and Catherine (Smith) Mayfield. John was educated in Charles City and graduated with a Bachelors Degree from Drake University. John was united in marriage to Carol "Jean" Dollman on May 30, 1981, at Charles City. He was President of Dr. Mayfield Labs. John loved all animals and was a very gentle soul. He enjoyed boat rides and watching the dolphins on the Indian River Lagoon in Florida. John's wife, Carol "Jean," was very dear to his heart and he missed her immensely after her passing.

Living family members include his children: Margo (Tom) Lind and James Mayfield; step-children: Brenda (Charles) Sterk Gray, Sharon (Scott Cook) Sterk Johnston, Dwayne (Katrina) Sterk, Kathy Caldwell and John (Connie) Maier; grandchildren: Samantha and Thomas Lind, Elizabeth and Devon Mayfield, Heidi Johnston Achee, Brandon (Li Li) Gray and Melissa Jo Gray, Sarah Sterk, Amanda (Dustin) Wells, and James and Thomas Sterk; 11 greatgrandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sisters: Marilyn De-Mars and Betty Sogard; sisters-in-law: Namcy Miller, Linda Miner, Judy Prawdzik and their spouses along with Janice Dollman; and several wonderful nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Arvana Lometa (Lockey) Boyd

Birth: July 30, 1922
Death: November 11, 2013

Service: Friday, November 15, 2013 at 2:00 p.m., Bethany Alliance Church.

Arvana Boyd, 91, of Charles City, died Monday, November 11, 2013, at her home.

Funeral services for Arvana Boyd will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday at Bethany Alliance Church in Charles City. Pastors Kent Sovine and Mike Downey will officiate. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery rural Charles City.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday and again from 9-10:30 a.m. at the church on Saturday.

Arvana Lometa (Lockey) Boyd was born July 30, 1922 in Fort Dodge, Iowa, the daughter of Harry and Martha (Paisley) Lockey. The family moved to Bassett where Arvana hitchhiked to school in Charles City and Nashua. She graduated from Nashua High School in 1940. Arvana was united in marriage to William Duncan and this union was blessed with two children, Karen and James. The couple later divorced. Arvana moved to Charles City in 1946 and began working at Oliver/White Farm Equipment. In 1953, Arvana married Clarence Boyd and the couple made their home in Charles City. She continued working at Oliver/White Farm until her retirement in 1976.

Arvana was a member of Bethany Alliance Church and the Evangelical Free Church of Charles City. She enjoyed playing cards, camping and going for coffee with family and friends. Arvana was the best "professional grandma" anyone could ask for. She loved spending time with her own grandchildren, the church kids and neighborhood kids. Arvana was a hospice volunteer and a pink lady at the hospital.

Living family members include her son-in-law, Basil Law of Charles City; daughter-in-law, Kathy Duncan of Golden, Colo.; two brothers, Dale (Joyce) Lockey of Swan and Don Lockey of Hanford, Calif.; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; Lockey cousins by the dozens; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clarence daughter, Karen Law; son, James Duncan; one great-grandson; four sisters: Bernadine Michael, Eleanor Klinkel, Evelyn Roethler and Martha Simerson; and two brothers: Lowell and Clifford Lockey.?

Donald "Don" Eugene Lohr

Donald "Don" Eugene Lohr, 72, formerly of Rockford died on Wednesday, November 13, 2013, at St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. Online condolences may be left at www.fullertonfh.com.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 20, at Rockford United Methodist Church, 21 3rd St NW via the Nora Springs Exit. There will be a two hour prior visitation. Rev. Judy Wooton will be officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Rockford. Those planning on expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to: The Fossil and Prairie Park Preserve in Rockford in memory of Don.

Don was born on April 2, 1942, in Rockford; the second child born to Robert and Marlys Lohr. He was baptized and confirmed in the United Methodist Church in Rockford.

Don was a member of the first graduating class of the consolidated RRMR School District in 1959. After graduation, Don went to work for Osco Drug in Mason City. In 1963 he was drafted into the Army and served as an MP at Fort Bliss, Texas. Upon discharge, Don returned to work at Osco Drug in various management positions in Albert Lea, Minn., Oshkosh, Wis., Bettendorf, Iowa, and finally Chicago, Ill. area stores as a district manager. Don retired in 1997 after 42 years.

During his younger years, Don enjoyed hunting or fishing and a good game of pool at the local pool hall. Later on in life, his hobbies included: reading, walks in the great outdoors, and observing wildlife. He was curious about everything and would drive for miles to learn or see something that was of interest to him. One of his favorite trips was to Churchill, Canada, to observe the polar bears in their winter habitat.

Don had a generous heart and loved his extended family very much. If any of his siblings were traveling home to Rockford or to another destination, he would often show up to join in the fun.

Don is survived by his father, Robert Lohr of Nora Spring; brother, Jack Lohr of Carmel of Indiana; sisters, Sharon Ginther of Mesa, Arizona, and Bobbi (Bob) Stubbs of Fountain Hills, Arizona; nephews, Marty (Leann) Ginther and Scott Ginther of Rockford, Iowa; nieces, Laurie (Kevin) Carlson of Green Bay, Wisconsin, and Jill (George) Nicolich of Carmel, Indiana; five great-nieces and nephews; nine great-great-nieces and nephews, Aunt, Phyllis Brallier of Pasadena, Calif.; and many extended family members.

In addition, Don also leaves behind former wife Jan Brown and her three adult children and their families. Don was especially close to his step-grandson, Spencer, who lived nearby. "Papa" enjoyed attending Spencer's sporting events and taking him shopping for neat things that they could work on and build together.

Don was preceded in death by his mother, Marlys Lohr; paternal grandparents, Alvin and Elsie Lohr; maternal grandparents, James and Ruby Wilson; and several aunts and uncles.

Dale Hollister

Dale Hollister, Jr., 56, of Floyd, died Friday, November 15, 2013 at his home.

Dale Stewart Hollister, Jr. was born May 21, 1957, in Schenectady, New York, the son of Dale Sr. and Virginia (Domme) Hollister. The family moved to Alma, Mich. in 1960 and then to Charles City in 1972. Dale received his education in Charles City and later attended NIACC, receiving a degree in automotive mechanics. In 1975, Dale joined the Army at the age of 17 after begging his parents to sign for the authorization. He was later honorably discharged and joined the Army National Guard for the next several years.

On July 12, 1980, Dale was united in marriage to Jean (Tudor) McCloud at First Wesleyan Church in Charles City. This union was blessed with two children, Nikki and Brian. The couple later divorced. Throughout his working career, Dale was employed at Jendros in Charles City, White Farm in Charles City and Reilly Construction out of Ossian. Dale was a member of the V.F.W. in Charles City. He enjoyed watching movies, hunting, snowmobiling, target shooting and westerns.

Living family members include his two children: Nikki (Kory) McIntire of Charles City and Brian Hollister (significant other Carley Robison) of Waverly; two granddaughters: Natalie McIntire and Rylie Hollister; his mother and father, Dale Sr. and Virginia Hollister of Spring Hill, Florida; five siblings: Terri (Doug) Winnell of Charlevoix, Mich., Netty (Rick) Fisher of Clearwater, Fla., Chris (Steve) Thomson of Coto de Caza, Calif., Lester (Julie) Hollister of Floyd and Randy Hollister of Scottsdale, Ariz.; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Tracy James Crumpton

ANAMOSA, IOWA - Tracy James Crumpton, 50, of Anamosa, died Thursday, November 14, 2013. Funeral service will be on Tuesday, November 19, 2013, at St. Marks Lutheran Church in Marion by Rev. Perry Fruhling. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion.

Survivors include his wife, T.J.; two children, Samantha Crumpton and James Crumpton, both of Anamosa; and three brothers and sisters, Jon Crumpton (Alicia) of Phoenix, Arizona, Val Onken of Charles City, and Mick (Brenda) Crumpton of Manchester.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; a brother, Brian; and brother-in-law, Keith.

Tracy was born Dec. 10, 1962, the son of James and Gloria (Holm) Crumpton in Charles City. He graduated from Charles City High School and attended Wartburg College. Tracy married T.J. Chandler on October 14, 1989, in Huntsville, Ala. Tracy worked at ESP International.

He was a member of St. Marks Lutheran Church, RiversideLutheran Bible Camp, Way Point for children, and Youth Encounter.

Tracy enjoyed model airplanes, fantasy football, old western movies, classic movies, and was a World War II buff.

John James Grant

John J. Grant, 95, of Charles City, died Friday, Nov. 15, 2013, at the 9th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City.

A memorial service for John Grant will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 23, at Hauser Funeral Home. Inurnment will be in Riverside Cemetery at Shell Rock.

Friends may call Saturday one hour prior to the memorial service at the funeral home.

John James Grant was born July 30, 1918, in a sod house in Brewster, Nebraska, the son of James Raymond Grant and Mary (Coen) Grant. When John was in the first grade, he and his family moved to Greene. After September 1929, John and his siblings were raised by their maternal grandparents, George and Lucinda Coen, as a result of their mother's death in a car accident. On March 1, 1941, he married Dorothy Jungling at the First Methodist Church in Waterloo, Iowa. He and Dorothy celebrated 65 years of married life. John J. Grant entered service on Dec. 7, 1942 at Camp Dodge, Iowa, training at Fort McClellan, Ala.. He served in the Army Air Corps until February 1946, spending most of his service at Waycross, Georgia. Air Base.

In May 1946, John, his brother LeRoy and LeRoy's brother-in-law Robert Swab, started a lime and gravel trucking business in Shell Rock named Grant Brothers and Swab. John and Dorothy moved to Charles City in 1958 and became partners in Allied Redi-Mix, Allied Construction and Allied Equipment. John became interested in flying in his younger years taking many trips in his Piper aircraft. He and Dorothy loved to travel, especially to Whitehall, Mont. Dorothy passed away on Oct. 17, 2006. John lost another special person, Nellie Meineke, in January 2013.

Living family members include two sisters: Freda Willhite of Davenport and Mary Louise Long of Lynchburg, Va. Nephews and nieces: Gary Grant (Mary) of Sedalia, Mo., Janice Grant (Bob Martin) of Oregon, Wis., Jerry Meader (Carol) of Rockford, Glennis Krull of McIntire, Judy (Marshall) Sonksen of Bettendorf, Darrel Willhite of Cedar Rapids, Mary Lou Long of Lynchburg, Va., Patty Kent (Ronald) of Waterloo and Mike Grant of Independence.

John was preceded in death by his parents; wife Dorothy; a sister, Sue Meader; and three brothers: Paul, LeRoy and Bill Grant.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of North Iowa.

Russell Nauman

Russell "Russ" Nauman, 52, of Mason City, died Monday, November 18, 2013, at his home.

Funeral services for Russ Nauman will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at Trinity United Methodist Church. Pastor Jim Beranek will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery at Rudd.

Russell Emmett Nauman was born September 26, 1961, at Charles City, the son of Emmett Jr. and Gloria (Martin) Nauman. He was raised on the family farm near Floyd. Russ graduated in 1980 from Charles City High School. On May 30, 1993, he married Sharon Jurgensen and helped her raise her younger children Jamie and Donnie. They resided in Okoboji and Spirit Lake until moving to Floyd in 2008. They later divorced. Over the years Russ worked at Citations Homes, Coca Cola and was currently employed at Winnebago Industries in Forest City. Some of his favorite pastimes included boating and fishing at Okoboji, golfing and watching movies. He was also a Hawkeye fan. Russ always looked forward to helping out on the family farm and spending time with his nieces and nephews. He also enjoyed his dog, Herkie.

Living family members include his mother, Gloria Nauman of Floyd; two brothers, Jeff (Roxie) Nauman of Eagan, Minn., and Steve (Kelli) Nauman of Floyd; two sisters, Beverly (John) Selvig and Susan (Ken) Orthaus both of New Hampton; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Emmett Nauman, Jr. on October 20, 2011; a niece, Amanda Nauman; his paternal grandparents, Emmett Sr. and Hannah Nauman; maternal grandparents, Asa and Martha Martin.

Betty L. Frenz

NORA SPRINGS, IOWA - Betty L. Frenz, 73, of Nora Springs, died Tuesday, November 19, 2013, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, November 22, 2013, at the First United Methodist Church, 202 N. Hawkeye Ave., Nora Springs, with Pastor Wendy Johannesen officiating. The family will greet friends from 1 p.m. until the time of Betty's service on Friday.

Should friends desire, memorials may be left in Betty's name in care of her family.

Betty L. Frenz was born on April 29, 1940, the daughter of LeRoy Holding and Beatrice Ketchum. She grew up in Mason City and attended Mason City High School.

In 1979 she was introduced to Jerry Hinkel while living in Nora Springs; they would be blessed with nearly 35 years together.

For many years Betty worked for Marshall and Swift Dry Cleaning in Mason City. More recently she could be found working on the breakfast crew at Hardees in Mason City, where she enjoyed visiting with her co-workers and the morning coffee clubs.

In her free time she enjoyed going dancing with Jerry, adding to her beloved penguin collection, tending to her flower garden, attending garage and yard sales, and traveling. Betty loved cooking and hosting family get-togethers; she was known for always preparing enough food to feed an army! She cherished her relationship and friendship with her daughter, Tanya; they shared countless times together and loved spoiling Tanya's beloved dog, Willie, with treats.

Those grateful in sharing in her life are her spouse, Jerry Hinkel, Nora Springs; children, Michele O'Bryon, Mason City, Greg (Dawn) Hinkel, Northwood, and Shari (Greg) Vick, Owatonna, Minn.; many grandchildren; sister, Vi (Delmar) Clausen; brothers, Archie Holding and Bobbie (Kathy) Grant; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended relatives.

She is preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, Sam and Grace Ketchum; and her daughter, Tanya Frenz.

CHARLES CITY, IOWA - LaVerne Byers, 91, of Charles City died Saturday, November 23, 2013, at the Rehabilitation Center of Allison.

A funeral Mass for LaVerne Byers will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The Rev. Carl Ries will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery at Charles City. There will be a flag presentation by the Charles City Ceremonial Unit.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday where the rosary will be prayed at 5 p.m. and a prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue Tuesday at the church an hour prior to the Mass.

LaVerne Byers, 91, of Charles City, died Saturday, November 23, 2013, at Rehabilitation Center of Allison at Allison.

LaVerne Matthew Byers was born August 18, 1922, at New Haven, the son of Lloyd and Jennie (Weber) Byers. His father died in 1926. He graduated from the Colwell School in 1940. LaVerne proudly served in the United States Navy from 1942 to 1946 serving aboard a mine sweeper in the European and South Pacific theaters. On August 26, 1946, he was united in marriage to Geneva Hughes at Austin, Minn. LaVerne worked at Oliver/White Farm Equipment Company for 37 years. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He enjoyed dancing, keeping his yard immaculate, vegetable gardening and watching sports, especially the Cubs and Hawkeye football and basketball.

Living family members include his sister, Patricia Hagarty of Charles City; a step-son, Wayne (Anna Mae) Stratton of Charles City; three step-grandsons, Jeff (Lisa) Stratton, Joe (Sami) Stratton and Jerry (Melisa) Stratton; and eight step great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; step father, Harold Cross; wife, Geneva, on January 10, 2004; a grandson, James Stratton; a great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Stratton; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Ida Byers; a niece, Katherine Rose Hagarty; and three nephews, Roger, Mike and Dennis Byers.

Obituary for Robert W. "Button" Seagrave

Robert W. "Button" Seagrave, 68, of Nora Springs, Iowa, died Friday, November 22, 2013 at his home.

Per Robert's wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and a celebration of Button's life will be held 2:00 pm, Friday, November 29, 2013 at the Nora Springs Christian Church, 102 N. Hawkeye, Nora Spring with Pastor Glen Bandel officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the memorial service at the church on Friday. Should friends desire, memorials may be left in Robert's name in care of his family.

Robert Weston "Button" Seagrave, son of Asa and Mildred (Bruton) Seagrave was born July 31, 1945 in Quincy, Florida. He attended and graduated from North Side High School in Fort Worth, Texas. Following his graduation, Robert was a business entrepreneur all of his life. He first opened a western store selling western attire and memorabilia for several years along with being involved in bull riding. He then spent time in Nashville, TN where he was a drummer for well-known country music groups. He then returned to Texas where he owned a painting business, painting both interior and exterior of houses and carpentry.

He moved to California for a short time, where he worked in security and returned home to Texas received his education in computer science. He was employed with DELL, Inc. for ten years.

In 2003, he met Susie (Stoltenberg) Herout and moved to Nora Springs in January of 2004 where they have made their home for the past 10 precious years. He had suffered from many medical problems over the past several years, but he lived every day to the fullest and with a huge smile on his face and love for those closest to him.

Robert was a "game-o-holic" who loved both computer and board games. He enjoyed fishing, motorcycling, music, and was very intellectual with computers. He had a special love for animals of any kind, especially horses and dogs. His favorite of which, was his Rottweiler named Brat.

Robert is survived by his fiance, Susie "Stoltenberg" Herout, Nora Springs; uncle, Charles C. (Bertie) Bruton, Gatesville, TX; aunt, Elaine Barnett, Gatesville, TX; granddaughters, Aubrey and Lauren Tedder of Conroe, TX; cousins, Randy Bruton, Terri (Danny) Baize, Mark Barnett and Lynn Barnett all of Gatesville, TX, and Eliese Barnett of Lampasas, TX along with many close extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Jason Seagrave.

Scott Thomas Hart, 52, of Nora Springs died Saturday November 23, 2013 at his home in Nora Springs. A memorial service will be held at 10.30 a.m., Wednesday November 27, 2013 at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd St. N.E., Mason City. Visitation will be held 5-7 pm, Tuesday November 26, 2013 at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel. Burial will be in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery, Mason City.

Scott Thomas Hart, the son of Raymond and Rose (Marshall) Hart was born November 25, 1960 in Mason City. He grew up and attended school in Mason City. He worked at Schneider Metal for some time, and other factory jobs in the area.

Scott was married to Deborah "Deb" (Slusarczyk) June 20, 2005, and in 2009 Deb passed away. Scott was a fun loving free spirit. He loved to play jokes on his family and friends. Scott was an excellent cook, and would go around delivering "Scott's meals on wheels", up until the point he would run out of Tupperware. Scott enjoyed watching his nephew race, going to concerts, morel mushroom hunting, riding his motorcycle or bicycle, sitting around bonfires, or sending off wishing lanterns in the sky. Scott was fun to be around, and will be missed by many.

He is survived by his children, Ryan Gordon, Grimes, IA, and Eric Hart, Mason City, IA; special friend, Karyl O'Connor, Nora Spring; brothers and sister, Brad (Fredde Jilek) Hart, Mason City, Brenda Hart, Mason City, Kevin (Ruth) Hart, Mason City, and Dennis (Robin) Hart, Mason City; nieces and nephews, Joel (Amy) Berding, Cedar Falls, Levi Nielsen, Cedar Falls, Rachel Hart, Mason City, Chad Hart, Mason City, Chelsia Hart, Seattle, Wash.; best friend Kelly Abrams, Mason City; and his cats, Rusty, Billy and Sammy.

Clement "Clem" Kilby

Clement "Clem" L. Kilby, 89, of Charles City, died Monday, November 25, 2013, surrounded by his loving family at the 11th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City.

Funeral services for Clem Kilby will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City. Pastor Jane Keel from Messiah Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery at Charles City.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday.

Clement LeRoy Kilby was born February 8, 1924 in New Hampton, Iowa, the son of Harry James and Cecelia Katherine (Larrabee) Kilby. He was raised and educated in Charles City, graduating from Charles City High School.

Clem joined the Navy on July 12, 1943 and proudly served his country during World War II aboard the USS Wichita before his honorable discharge on December 12, 1945. On July 15, 1943, he was united in marriage to Mavis Cecile Freiberg at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Charles City. The couple made their home in Charles City where they raised their family. He was employed at Hawkeye Vulcanizing Co. and as a machinist at White Farm Equipment Co. throughout his working career. Clem was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church. He was a lifetime member of the VFW, a member of UAW Local 1315 where he served as Financial Secretary for 30 years along with other offices, Oliver Management Club, Moose L odge, American Legion and two camping groups: Good Sam's - Happy Sam's and Wigwam & Wagon.

Living family members include his wife of 70 years, Mavis of Charles City; two daughters: Sharon Friedrich and Vicki (Alvin) Fisher all of Charles City; grandchildren: Jacqueline (Ron) Reis, Stacey Friedrich, Jodette Friedrich, Corey Fisher and Melinda Fisher; great-grandchildren, Devin and Alana Friedrich and Hailey and Trevor (Fisher) Caster; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Cecelia Kilby; two brothers, Edward and Raymond Kilby; and two sisters, Margaret Underwood and Mildred Drahe?.

Gerald Lewis Boehmer, 71, of Garland, Tx. passed away Sunday, November 24, 2013.

Gerald was born September 3, 1942 in New Hampton, Iowa to Edward and Clara (Ross) Boehmer. He served in the United States Air Force from 1960 - 1964. On July 5, 1964, he married the love of his life, Ophelia Kay Westbrook in Lubbock, Tx. Events brought him and his family back to Garland where he worked for Decker Foods. Gerald retired in 2008 and spent his time golfing and spending time with his family and friends, his beloved dog Bear, and most especially with his grandson, Dylan.

Gerald is survived by his son, Gerald, his daughters Loretta Stinnett, Bonnie McElveen, and Michelle Boehmer, as well as seven grandchildren: Kristen, Jessica, Dylan, Savannah, Nick, Mandi, and Zack. Gerald is also survived by his five brothers, Dugan, Duane, Leonard, Dick and Tim and many nieces and nephews. He will also be specially missed by his great friends and neighbors, Sun and Gerald Hebert.

Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Clara, his brother Laverne Boehmer, and his beloved wife, Ophelia Kay Boehmer.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, December 1, 2013 at Charles W. Smith and Sons, 2925 Fifth St., Sachse, Tx., 75048, Reverend Earnest Walt will officiate. Memorials may be made in his name to the Humane Society of Dallas County.

Doris was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church, a former member of the St. Theresa's Circle, a member of the Elks Club, and many, many card clubs. She enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling across the globe. Doris worked for many years at the Salisbury Laboratories, Jefferson Schools, Sisson Insurance, and Peoples Insurance, as well as various volunteer activities.

Doris is survived by children: Michael (Meg) Murray and his children: Dennis Murray and Crystal (Mike) Eckhoff; Joanne (Pat) O'Reilly and their children: Niklas (Katie) Neymeyer, Kim (Matt) Burlage, Shawna O'Reilly, Kelly (Ken) O'Reilly-Alber; Lori (Gary) Mehmen and their children: Jesse (Renae) Mehmen, Lyndsay (Nick) Clark, Leah (Tom) Halvorson; Teri (Gary) Pettit and their children: Corey Pettit, Danielle (John) Pettit-Majewski, and 23 Great-Grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Gila (Ron) Jorgensen, and brothers, Jerry Gabel, and John (Patrice) Gabel, and a sister-in-law JoEllen Murray, plus many nieces and nephews.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, her parents, and parents-inlaws.
