Jerry was born on August
25, 1955 in Mason City, Iowa, the son of George and Betty
(Hoffman) Lunn. He was raised in Clear Lake. He graduated
from Clear Lake High School in 1973. Sixteen years ago Jerry
was in a traumatic accident. Doctors gave him less than 1%
chance of survival. Through the power of prayer,
determination and lots of love, Jerry beat the odds. We were
blessed to have him in our lives. He was a good dad and he
loved his girls.
Jena was his side kick,
they learned how to walk together, work together and play
together. A special bond had been made between the two.
Jerry would best be
remembered as the local salvage man. That was his passion
cutting iron and junking cars. It was very physical work but
he always said “If you love what you do it's not work at
all.” He loved what he did and all the friends and contacts
he's made over the years. He had a memory of steel and did
not forget anyone. If he was physically able to help, he
would. And that kindness had been returned to him many times
over from family and friends.
Left to cherish his memory
is his wife, LeaAnn Lunn; daughters, Jena Lunn and Shelby
(Jim) Andersen of Mason City; new granddaughter, Madison
Marie; parents, George and Betty Lunn of Clear Lake;
brothers, Tim Lunn of Mason City and Rick Lunn of Clear
Lake; sister, Kathleen (Dan) Anderson of Swaledale, Iowa;
nieces, Morgan, Krista and Andrea; nephews, Travis Anderson
and Travis Hesley; mother-in-law, Dorothy Kollman;
sister-in-law, Cindy Hesley; brother-in-law, Darrel (Gloria)
Hesley; aunts, uncles and his many, many friends. He loved
them all very much.
Greeting him in heaven
will be his son, Cole; and his grandparents; and a lot of
his life long friends.

Iva
Doris Claude, the daughter of John and Ivy (Thorne) Gatchel,

Britt until her junior year in high school. She then moved
with her family to a farm east of Garner. On June 20, 1934,
she was married to Albert Claude at her parent's farm. They
farmed near Stilson before moving to Garner where they
continued farming until retiring in 1974. Doris and Albert
were proud to have been selected as Farm Family of the Week
by the Garner Leader in 1949. In 1985, they moved in to
Garner. In September of 2003, Doris entered Concord Care
Center in Garner.

spending time with them. She enjoyed cooking, especially
trying new recipes, playing bridge, and traveling which
included trips to England, Alaska, Washington, D.C. and New
