Beverly J. Smith, age 67, of Plymouth, died on Wednesday,
February 3, 2010, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit
in Mason City.
Funeral services were held
at 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, February 6, at the
Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage, with Pastor Paul
Brown officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date in the
Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery.

John Christian
Sorlien
February 16, 2010
John Christian Sorlien, 87, of Portland, Oregon, passed away
on Wednesday, February 3, 2010, in Gresham, Oregon.
Graveside services will be
held on Friday, February 19, at 2:00 p.m., in the Willamette
National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon.
He was born on April 7,
1922 in Hesper, Iowa, to Olvin and Selma (Burreson) Sorlien.
He graduated from Luther College in March of 1943 as part of
the V7 program. After Navy training at New York City, he was
commissioned Lt. (j.g.) John Sorlien, serving on an LST in
the Mediterranean for 16 months. He was a communications
officer serving with invasions of Italy and southern France.
When he returned to the states, he was stationed at
Portland, Oregon. John married Anna May Lettow on August 11,
1945 in Portland. Fall of 1946, John was teaching at Olivia,
Minnesota. They moved to Portland, where he worked as an
accountant for a variety of grain companies from 1947 until
his retirement in 1984.
He was a longtime member
of Trinity Lutheran Church. He enjoyed woodworking and was
able to build his own home. John was an accomplished
musician, playing the organ and accordion and was active for
many years with the church.
John is survived by his
wife, Ann of Portland, Oregon; sons, Peter (Jean) Sorlien of
Fairview, Oregon and Steven (Joyce) Sorlien of Tualatin,
Oregon; grandchildren, Holly Jesse, Daniel Sorlien, Scott
Sorlien, Brian Sorlien, Matthew Sorlien and Eric Sorlien;
and five great-grandchildren; brother, Paul (Sandra) Sorlien
of Underwood, Iowa; sisters, Naomi Jasmer of Willmar,
Minnesota, Grace (Norbert) Johnson of St. Ansgar, Ruth (E.J.)
Larson of Austin, Minnesota and Lois Fossen of Minnetonka,
Minnesota.
He was preceded in death
by his parents, Rev. S.O. (Selma) Sorlien; and his sister,
Eunice Chomicz.

Genevieve M. Bray
February 8, 2010
Genevieve M. Bray, age 96, of Osage, died on Thursday,
February 4, 2010, at the Faith Lutheran Home in Osage.
Funeral services were held
at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, February 8, at the Our Savior's
Lutheran Church in Osage, with Rev. Roy Ott officiating.
Inurnment will be in the Brush Point Cemetery, rural
Fertile, at a later date. Visitation was held from 10-11:00
a.m., on Monday, at the Our Savior's Lutheran Church in
Osage.
Genevieve was born on
March 9, 1913 near Fertile, Iowa, the daughter of Roy and
Mae (Humphrey) Larson. She graduated from the Fertile High
School in 1930. On February 22, 1931, Genevieve married
Alvin Bray at her parents' home in Fertile. They farmed near
Hanlontown for 30 years and then moved to the Osage area.
Alvin "Doc", died on August 2, 1981. Genevieve moved in to
Osage in October of 1981.
She was a member of the
Our Savior's Lutheran Church and the Esther Circle. She was
also a member of the Osage Senior Citizens.
Genevieve is survived by
two daughters, Myrna (Melvin) Davis of Mason City and
Marilyn (Mickey) Halverson of Geneseo, Illinois; one son,
Dennis (Susan) Bray of Austin, Minnesota; nine
grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and two
great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death
by her parents; her husband, Alvin "Doc"; and two sisters,
Eunice Petersburg and Wilma Larson.

Eunice Y. Anderson

Eunice Y. Anderson, age 81, of Osage, died on Friday,
February 5, 2010, at the Osage Rehabilitation and Health
Care Center in Osage.
Funeral services were held
at 1:30 p.m., on Tuesday, February 9, at the Our Savior's
Lutheran Church in Osage, with Rev. Dennis Hanson and Rev.
Roy Ott officiating. Burial was in the Osage Cemetery.
Visitation was from 5-7:00 p.m., on Monday, at the
Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage.
Eunice was born on October
12, 1928 in Osage, Iowa, the daughter of M.R. "Ralph" and
Hedwig "Hattie" (Gemaehlich) Lorenz. Eunice graduated from
the Osage High School in 1946. She married Kenneth L.
Anderson on September 21, 1947 in Osage. She and Kenneth
farmed west of Osage for many years. In 1967, they moved off
the farm to Clear Lake, Iowa, where she worked at the Corner
Drug. Later they moved to Klemme, Iowa where she worked as a
veterinary assistant. After Eunice and Kenneth retired, they
came back to Osage.
Eunice was a member of the
Our Savior's Lutheran Church and the American Legion
Auxiliary. She loved to play cards with her "Card Club" for
over 40 years. She also enjoyed traveling, golfing and
spending time with her family and friends, especially her
grandchildren.
Eunice is survived by her
husband, Kenneth Anderson of Osage; her children, Linda
Hughes of Charles City, Tom Anderson and fiancée, Peggy
Bigelow of Clear Lake; grandchildren, Bryan (Emily) Hughes
and their son, Daxton of Norwalk and Megan Hughes of Ankeny;
sisters, Lois (Richard) Moran of Roscommon, Michigan and Jan
(John) Miller of Sun City West, Arizona.
She was preceded in death
by her parents.

Kathryn E. Harmon

Kathryn E. Harmon, age 91, of Osage, died on Saturday,
February 6, 2010, at the Nora Springs Care Center in Nora
Springs.
Funeral services will be
held at 10:30 a.m., on Thursday, February 11, at the
Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage, with Pastor Gary
Gilbert officiating. Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery.
Visitation is from 5-7:00 p.m., on Wednesday, at the Funeral
Home.
Kathryn Elizabeth Kitson
Harmon, was born on January 22, 1919 in Des Moines, Iowa,
the daughter of Ben Merritt Kitson and Matie R. (Root)
Kitson, D.O. Kathryn spent a good part of her life in and
around the Osage area. She was baptized and confirmed in the
Osage United Methodist Church. Kathryn graduated from the
Osage High School in 1936. She worked at the school and took
additional classes as a post graduate one year. In 1937, she
went to Iowa State University and graduated in 1941 with a
B.S. Degree in Education. She taught for three years in Lake
Mills, Iowa and for five years in Osage as a Vocational
Homemaking Teacher. On November 26, 1949, she married Ross
E. Harmon and they made their home on a farm in Burr Oak
Township. They had three daughters. In 1984, they retired to
Osage.
Kathryn belonged to the
Osage V.F.W. Auxiliary Post 7920 and held several different
chairmanships. She was also an active member of the Little
Cedar United Methodist Church. Throughout her life, she held
various offices in the church and the U.M.W. Her hobbies
included reading, sewing, crocheting and playing cards.
Kathryn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother,
great-grandmother and friend.
Kathryn is survived by
three daughters, Linda Lines and fiancée, Jeffrey Mondry of
Rudd, Mary Kay Erdmann and husband, Kenneth of Plymouth and
Janice Henik and husband, John of Mount Vernon; three
grandsons, Brad Lines, Douglas Erdmann and Joshua Henik;
three granddaughters, Erin Lines Myers and husband, Jerry,
Dawn Erdmann and Kara Henik; and two great-grandsons, McCain
and Truman Myers.
She was preceded death by
her parents; and her husband, Ross in 2009.

Owen Dale Van Buskirk, age 87, of Osage, died on Saturday,
February 6, 2010, at the Osage Rehabilitation and Health
Care Center in Osage.
Funeral service will be

Owen was born on February
22, 1922 in Belmond, Iowa, the son of Loyd and Anna (Brass)
Van Buskirk. He graduated from the Goodell High School. Owen
married Lillian Chapman on August 21, 1945 at the Trinity
Lutheran Church in Mason City, with Pastor Alvin Rogness
officiating. He farmed in Minnesota from 1947 to 1994, after
which Owen and Lillian retired to Osage.
Owen was a member of the
EUB Church in Sargeant, Minnesota. He was also a member of
the NFO. He enjoyed mechanics, traveling, visiting and
reading.
Owen is survived by his
wife, Lillian Van Buskirk of Osage; his children, Lois
(Virgil) Frieden of Bemidji, Minnesota, Harry Van Buskirk of
Sargeant, Minnesota, Harold Van Buskirk of Brownsdale,
Minnesota, Wayne Van Buskirk of Byron, Minnesota, Roy Van
Buskirk of Spring Valley, Minnesota, Linda (Wayne) Jorgenson
of Sargeant, Minnesota, Gary (Laura) Van Buskirk of Rose
Creek, Minnesota, Loyd Van Buskirk of Brownsdale, Minnesota
and Paul Van Buskirk of Swea City; 18 grandchildren; 18
great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Earline Finn,
Carol Lauen, Faye Mewes, Ina Brinkman and Harriet Baker.
He was preceded in death
by his parents; his son, John Van Buskirk; brothers, Earl
Van Buskirk, Gerald Van Buskirk and Russell Van Buskirk;

Agnes Halbach Buch
February 16, 2010
Agnes Halbach Buch, 95, of Elgin, Illinois, passed away on
Saturday, February 6, 2010, at the Provena Pineview Care
Center, St. Charles.
A Funeral Mass was held at
11:00 a.m., on Thursday, February 11, at the St. Thomas More
Catholic Church, Elgin. Burial was in the Mount Hope
Cemetery, Elgin. Visitation was held on Thursday, from 10:00
a.m. until the time of the mass in the church. Memorials may
be given to the Stained Glass Window Fund at the church. The
Wait Ross Allanson Funeral & Cremation Services, Elgin was
in charge of the arrangements.
She was born on April 25,
1914 in Stacyville, Iowa, the daughter of Pete and Mary
Halbach. She has been a resident of Elgin since 1952. She
was a graduate of the St. Mary's School of Nursing in
Rochester, Minnesota and worked as a Registered Nurse at the
St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin and the Elgin Mental Health Care
Center before retiring.
She was a former member of
the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Elgin and a current member
of the St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Elgin. She had been
a volunteer with the Provena St. Joseph Hospital and the Fox
Valley Hospice.
Surviving are nine nieces
and nephews.
She was preceded in death
by her parents; her husband, Albert, whom she married in
1941; a daughter, Mary; 5 brothers; and 3 sisters.
The family would like a
special thank you to her caregiver, Aiste Kaniouskaite, who
gave her so much loving care during her life.

George Marreel

George Marreel, age 91, of Osage, died on Sunday, February
7, 2010, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason
City.
A Mass of Christian Burial
will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Friday, February 12, at the
Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage, with Rev. John Moser
officiating. Inurnment will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery
at a later date. Visitation will be from 5-7:00 p.m., on
Thursday, at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage,
with a scripture wake service at 6:30 p.m.
George was born on July
31, 1918 in Grafton, Iowa, the son of Hector and Hermine (Parmeter)
Marreel. He was educated in schools at LeRoy, Minnesota and
in Nebraska. George was married to Rose Kloberdanz on August
5, 1939. He farmed most of his life, living east of Osage
for 40 years and moving to Osage in 1983. He also worked
selling chlorinators for 13 years. Rose died on October 13,
1989. George was married to Alverna Driscoll in 1991.
He was a member of the
Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.
George enjoyed playing cards at the Senior Center and spent
every Wednesday playing pool with his friends. He served as
President of the Senior Center for five years. George loved
farming, especially his dairy cattle. Ballroom dancing was
another one of George's loves.
George is survived by his
wife, Alverna Marreel of Osage; three children, LaDonna
(Larry) Henaman of Osage, Bob (Donna) Marreel of Osage and
Dave (Melanie) Marreel of Clear Lake; eight grandchildren;
eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Walter (Delores)
Marreel of Austin, Minnesota; numerous nieces and nephews;
and by four step-children, Sr. Beth, Tom (Loretta), Mark,
Cindy (Terry) McCarthy and their families.
He was preceded in death
by his parents; his first wife, Rose Marreel; four brothers;
two sisters; and one great-grandchild.

Sonja Angell

Sonja Angell, age 72, of Osage, died on Tuesday, February 9,
2010, at the Faith Lutheran Home in Osage.
A Mass of Christian Burial
will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, February 13, at the
Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage, with Rev. John Moser
officiating. Burial will be in the St. Peter's Cemetery at
New Haven, Iowa. Visitation will be from 5-8:00 p.m., on
Friday, at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage, with
a rosary at 7:30 p.m.
Sonja was born on July 24,
1937 in Osage, Iowa, the daughter of Melvin and Gertrude (Walstad)
Weinschenk. She attended Osage schools and graduated from
the Osage High School in 1955. Sonja then worked as a
telephone operator in Osage. On May 4, 1957, she married
Marlow Angell. In January of 1963, they purchased the Osage
Cleaners. Sonja worked there until her retirement in 2000.
She has been a resident at the Faith Lutheran Home since
2002.
Sonja was a life long
member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was a member
of the Sacred Heart Guild, served on the Sacred Heart Board
of Education, was a religious education teacher and was a
Sacred Heart youth group leader. She was also a member of
Citadel, Osage Firemen's Auxiliary, the Osage Booster Club
and the Sister City Organization. Sonja served on the
American Heart Association Board and was an Osage City
Council member. She enjoyed playing softball. Sonja was an
avid supporter of all Osage athletics and especially enjoyed
following her sons and grandchildren.
Sonja is survived by her
son, Kurt (Marsha) Angell of Osage and their children,
Tiffany Angell and Adam Angell; her son, Kent Angell of
Osage and his children, Melissa (Marty) Cooper, Travis
(Stephanie) Angell, Katie Angell and Jordan Angell; two
brothers, Russell (Janice) Weinschenk of Rochester,
Minnesota and Jerome (Laurie) Weinschenk of Mason City; one
sister-in-law, Josie Weinshcenk of Allison; one
brother-in-law, Ray Card of Sioux City; and numerous nieces
and nephews.
She was preceded in death
by her parents; her husband, Marlow Angell; one sister,
Colleen Card; and one brother, Marcus Weinschenk.

Robert "Shorty"
Charles Bertelson
February 16, 2010
Robert "Shorty" Charles Bertelson, 82, formerly of Charles
City, died peacefully the morning of Sunday, February 14,
2010, at the Osage Rehabilitation and Care Center, after
battling Alzheimer's and recently, mini strokes.
A small, private memorial
service will be held in Osage for Shorty's family. A musical
celebration of Shorty's life will be held at the Charles
City VFW on March 27, 2010.
Robert was born on October
11, 1927 in Olmstead County, Minnesota. Though originally
named Frederick Charles Henry, he was soon thereafter
adopted by his aunt and uncle, Sylvia and Carl Bertelson. He
graduated the Fort Atkinson High School in 1947. Shorty
served in the Army two years during the Korean War. He was
issued many medals and was honorably discharged. He returned
to work at Oliver Tractor in Charles City and retired after
34 years with White Farm Equipment. He then became a
locksmith serving area towns. In 2005, he received
recognition by the Charles City Chamber of Commerce for 25
years in business.
In 1953, he married Maxine
Moser and to this union one son, Victor, was born. His young
wife died at age 24 from diabetes. In 1961, he married
Barbara Nehls and to this union were two daughters, Connie
and Jean. In 1974, he married Donna Head and on March 4th,
they would have celebrated 36 years together.
Shorty had many hobbies.
He had been a scout leader and loved fishing, boating and
camping. He enjoyed playing in local pool leagues. His
Sundays were spent watching NASCAR, cheering on Dale and
later Jr. He also spent many hours bird watching at his and
Donna's home at North Iowa Street in Charles City - the
cardinal being his favorite. He was a member of the VFW for
over 30 years and a member of the American Legion. He also
enjoyed arguing politics with his son.
Music was always a very
important part of Shorty's life. He played coronet in school
and followed the big band sound locally. He later learned to
play the accordion. He was an excellent dancer and "loved
both kinds of music - country AND western," as he put it. He
never missed a dance and was considered an honorary member
of both the "Country Blue Boys & Linda Sue" and "Wichita"
bands. He especially loved the sound of the steel guitar.
One of Shorty's favorite summer pastimes was going to Party
in the Park and listening to "Endless Summer". He was a long
time member of the Reba McEntire fan club, meeting her
several times.
Left to mourn his passing
are his wife, Donna Mae of Osage; son, Victor Charles
Bertelson of Norfolk, Virginia; daughters, Connie Farrell
Loesch of Stewartville, Minnesota and Jean (Lydia) Adams of
Fairmont, Minnesota; step-daughters, Linda Sue Baker of
Osage, Deb (Tom) Clark of Osage and Barbara Garbes of Clear
Lake; nine grandchildren, Christie and Kayla Bertelson of
Fort Worth, Texas, Jeannie Sue, Vickie, Eric and Melinda
Bertelson of Norfolk, Virginia, Michael (Michelle) Farrell
of Norfolk, Virginia, Joshua Farrell of Austin, Minnesota
and Ashley Adams of Fairmont, Minnesota; three
step-grandchildren, Tracie Garbes of Clear Lake, Adam
(Nicole) Clark of Osage and Dustin Clark (special friend,
Whitney Chambers) of Waterloo; six great-grandchildren; and
his life-long friend, Paul Doubek of Ft. Atkinson.
The Cremation Society of
Eastern Central Western Iowa is assisting the family.

Sharon A. Djuren
February 23, 2010
Sharon A. Djuren, age 68, of Mason City, died on Monday,
February 15, 2010, at the Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa.
Funeral services were held
on Friday, February 19, at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church
with Rev. Mark Lavrenz officiating. Interment was in the
Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation was on Thursday, February
18, at the Major Erickson Funeral Home, Mason City.
Memorials may be directed to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church
Organ Fund.
Sharon was born on October
13, 1941 in Osage, Iowa, the daughter of Harold and Stella
(Lutz) Wright. She graduated from the Osage Schools. Sharon
was married to Gordon Djuren on September 26, 1959. Gordon
and Sharon have lived in rural Mason City for many years.
Sharon had a passion for
music and loved to play the organ. Sharon enjoyed spending
time with all her family and was especially fond of her
grandchildren. She was a long-time member of the Bethlehem
Lutheran Church, where she served as the organist and a
member of the LWML. She also was a member of the F-100 Truck
Club, American Guild of Organists and the New Horizons Band.
Sharon will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Sharon is survived by her
husband of fifty years, Gordon Djuren; children, Dave
(Carol) Djuren of Mason City, Marie Djuren of Topeka,
Kansas, Wanda (John) Goranson of Waukee and Troy (Crystal)
Djuren of Clear Lake; grandchildren, Travis (Jessi) Djuren
of Des Moines, Jason Djuren of North Carolina, Crystal
Djuren and fiancée, David Smith of Alaska and Jonna and
James Goranson of Waukee.
She was preceded in death
by her parents; uncle, Leonard Lutz; and daughter-in-law,
Tracy Djuren.

Leo J. Mayer
February 23, 2010
Leo J. Mayer, 89, of Rudd, died on Friday, February 19,
2010, at the Osage Rehabilitation and Health Center in
Osage.
A Funeral Mass will be
held on Tuesday, February 23, at 11:00 a.m., at the
Visitation Catholic Church, Stacyville, with Reverend John
Moser officiating. Burial will be in the Elmwood-St. Joseph
Cemetery in Mason City, with military honors conducted by
the Mason City Veterans Memorial Association. Visitation was
on Monday, February 22, at the Sheckler Colonial Chapel,
Nora Springs, from 4-7:00 p.m.
Leo Joseph Mayer, was born
on October 2, 1920 in Stacyville, Iowa, to Albert and
Pauline Mayer. He enlisted in the Army following his
schooling and served three years in New Guinea and the
Philippines. In August of 1961, Leo was united in marriage
to Ila Novak, she preceded him in death. On September 7,
1996, he married Jessie Bennett of Rudd. He drove for H and
M transport of Rudd for 32 years before his retirement.
Leo and Jessie enjoyed
horses, especially their Black Percherons. He also enjoyed
giving horseback rides and driving horses in local parades.
Leo also loved his special dogs and cats and had a love of
music.
Survivors include his
wife, Jessie; three step-children, Marvin Novak of Fort
Madison, Idella Shoars of Fort Madison and Francis (Bob)
West of Kisseimee, Florida; three sisters, Germaine
(Willard) Blake of Stacyville, Helen (Tony) Cerrotto of
Brewster, New York and Cecilia Meinders of Cedar Falls; one
brother, Ed (Estelle) Mayer of Bella Vista, Arkansas; and a
sister-in-law, Sylvia Mayer of Stacyville.
Preceding Leo in death
were his parents; his first wife, Ila; and two brothers,
Jerry Mayer and one in infancy, Paul Laverne.

Alton Wilder
March 2, 2010
Alton Wilder, age 85, of Lyle, Minnesota, a member of the
"Greatest Generation," passed away on Tuesday, February 23,
2010, after a tough and courageous battle with cancer.
A funeral service in
celebration of Alton's life was held at 11:00 a.m., on
Monday, March 1, at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in
Osage, with Pastor Debra Lincoln of the Jordan River and
Colwell U.C.C. officiating. There was a time of fellowship
following the service at the American Legion Post in Osage.
Internment was in the Woodbury Cemetery, rural Lyle,
Minnesota, at 2:00 p.m. on Monday.
Alton was born on February
7, 1925 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the son of Irving and
Lillian (Corrigan) Wilder. He was raised on the family farm.
Alton attended the Otranto School until his senior year when
he transferred to and graduated from the Lyle High School.
He then attended Iowa State University until entering the
United States Army in February 1943. Alton served as a
member of the 11th Airborne Division in the Pacific Theater.
Alton married Virginia Pless on February 8, 1948, at the St.
Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin, Minnesota. He farmed until
1983, when Alton co-founded Iowa Cattle Marketing and served
as it's manager until 2000 and then as their cattle broker
until he retired at the age of 83. Alton also served on the
Lyle School Board from 1958 to 1961.
Alton enjoyed reading,
storytelling, history and current events, gardening,
traveling, sports, but mostly his family and friends. Alton
was a very persuasive and compassionate person and would
help others achieve almost anything. During the past months
that compassion was reciprocated by the First Responders of
Lyle, Gold Cross Ambulance Service, physicians: David
Schrodt, Walter Bate, Mark Haganman, the staff at Mitchell

Alton is survived by his
two daughters, Nancy (Jack) Banda of Wildomar, California
and Roxanne Wilder of Eagan, Minnesota; a son, Kevin (Mari )
Wilder of Kirkland, Washington; four grandchildren, Ryan,
Aaron, Cole and Lauren; two great-grandchildren, Madison and
Adam; close friend and companion, Gladys "Glady" Siems of
Charles City; two sisters, Amy (Chuck) Fischer of Eagan,
Minnesota and Marian Jones of Lacey, Washington.
He was preceded in death
by his parents; his wife; a sister; and an infant sister.
The Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home was in charge of the

Bertilla
"Bert" Pint
March 2, 2010
Bertilla "Bert" Pint, age 84, of Osage, died on Wednesday,
February 24, 2010, at the St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester,
Minnesota.
A Mass of Christian Burial
was held at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, February 27, at the
Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage, with Rev. John Moser
officiating. Burial was in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Bertilla
was born on August 23, 1925 in Stacyville at her home, the
daughter of John and Elizabeth (Rauen) Isaac. She attended
school in Stacyville at the Visitation Academy. Bertilla was
married to Kenneth Pint on July 16, 1947 at the Visitation
Catholic Church in Stacyville. She was a housewife until she
drove school bus for Osage from 1968 until 1991. She also
worked part time as a cook for "Christiansen's Drive Inn."
Bertilla owned "Farmer's Inn" until the late 1980's. After
that she got her C.N.A. and worked at the Faith Lutheran
Home in Osage until she retired in 2006.
Bertilla enjoyed spending
time with her family and friends. She was loved by many and
will be greatly missed.
Bertilla
is survived by six children, Curtis (Lois Jean) Pint of
Dickyville, Wisconsin, LuAnn (Bruce) Budahn of Austin,
Minnesota, Lynda (Larry) Johnson of Osage, Lynn Pint of
Osage, Gwen Driscoll of Osage and Neil Pint of Lenexa,
Kansas; son-in-law, Tom Gast of Nora Springs; sister,
Lorraine (Leo) Meitner of Osage; brother, Harold (Kay) Isaac
of Stacyville; 17 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death
by her parents; husband, Kenneth in 1975; daughter, Pamela
Gast in 2002; brother, Verlyn; sister, Esther; and
sister-in-law, Kay Cahill.
The Champion-Bucheit
Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
