Richard Clausen, 45, of Rochester, Minnesota, died on
Sunday, August 1, 2010.
Funeral services will be
held at 2:00 p.m., on Wednesday, August 4, at the St. Peter
Lutheran Church, Toeterville, Iowa, with Rev. Dennis Hanson
officiating. Burial will be in the St. Peter Lutheran
Cemetery. Visitation was held on Tuesday evening, from
4-7:00 p.m., at the Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, St.
Ansgar.
Mark Richard Clausen, died
tragically Sunday morning in an auto accident. For anyone
who knew Mark, they knew that he loved to work and was
always the first to help others. On any given day he could
be found helping friends and neighbors with their projects.
When Mark wasn't working or helping others, he enjoyed
playing racquetball, shooting pool, riding his motorcycle
and taking winter vacations.
He was preceded in death
by his grandparents; his parents; his uncle; his brother;
his sister; and his beloved dog, Maxx. He will be greatly
missed by anyone who had the privilege to know him.

J. Clausen, 70, of Osage, died on August 1, 2010, at the
Faith Lutheran Home, Osage, Iowa.
Funeral services will be
held at 2:00 p.m., on Wednesday, August 4, at the St. Peter

Ansgar.
Marlene Clausen, was born
on May 22, 1940 in Long Prairie, Minnesota, to Herald and
Matilda Krumheuer. After graduating from the Long Prairie
High School and the Minneapolis Business College, she
married Richard Charles Clausen in 1960. They farmed near
Stacyville from 1957 to 1978.
Marlene was active in her
church and had an array of hobbies including sewing,
card-playing and putting together puzzles. In her younger
days she also did a lot of dancing and baking. She enjoyed
family gatherings, especially those involving her
grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death
by her husband, Richard; mother, Matilda and father, Herald;
grandmother, Augusta Fortmann; sons, Mark and Todd; and
daughter, Renae.
Survivors include her son,
Marlin (Renee) Clausen of Stacyville; daughters, Tricia
Clausen and Shari (Brian) Mork, both of Osage;
daughter-in-law, Tonya Clausen of Rochester, Minnesota;
brother, Marvin Krumheuer of Moorehead, Minnesota; 11
grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.

Arlene Shelton
August 11, 2010
Arlene Shelton, age 64, of
Osage, died on Tuesday, August 10, 2010, at the Mitchell
County Regional Health Center in Osage.
Funeral services will be
held at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, August 14, at the New
Covenant Fellowship Church, rural Osage. Interment will be
in the Osage Cemetery. Visitation is from 5-8:00 p.m., on
Friday, at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage.
Arlene was born on
December 24, 1945 in Charlotte, Michigan, the daughter of
Louis and Genevieve (Swift) Funk. On February 14, 1965, she
married Pastor Jim Shelton in Stuart, Florida. Arlene worked
as a church secretary. She was a member of the New Covenant
Fellowship Church and the Alpha Writers. Arlene enjoyed
going to church, creative writing, entertaining and
decorating.
Arlene is survived by her
husband, Pastor Jim Shelton of Osage; two daughters, Kellie
Barberi of Pensacola, Florida and Susan (Michael) Aleckson
of Joplin, Missouri; one granddaughter, Kristen Barberi of
Pensacola, Florida; two grandsons, Joshua Aleckson and Dylan
Aleckson, both of Joplin, Missouri; her mother, Genevieve
Funk of Palm City, Florida; and four brothers, Louis Funk,
Paul (Susan) Funk, Douglas (Judy) Funk and Russell Funk.
She was preceded in death
by her father, Louis Funk; her grandson, A.J. Barberi; and
her brother, George Funk.

James Robert
Kittleson
September 1, 2010
James Robert Kittleson,
69, of Bullhead City, Arizona, died on Thursday, August 12,
2010.
His remains will be spread
in the mountains where he and his friends rode their four
wheelers.
Jim was born on February
24, 1941, the son of Floyd and Caroline (Feldt) Kittleson,
at St. Ansgar, Iowa. He was baptized and confirmed at the
First Lutheran Church in St. Ansgar. He attended school in
St. Ansgar and then farmed with his father and brother for
several years. He then moved to Bullhead City were he worked
in maintenance for several years.
Jim is survived by three
daughters, Tammy Ito, Tonia Mollendor and Charlotte
Cunningham; one son, Nick Ammons; nine grandchildren; three
great-grandchildren; three brothers, Marlin (Eileen)
Kittleson, Norman (Shirley) Kittleson, both of St. Ansgar
and Clair (Betty Ann) Kittleson of Chino Valley, Arizona;
three sisters, Marjorie Johnson of Osage, Carol (Wayne)
Jones of Rudd and Virgene (Bob) Ermann of Wickenburg,
Arizona; a sister-in-law, Darlene Kittleson of Toeterville;
and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death
by his parents, Floyd and Caroline Kittleson; two brothers,
Galen and LeRoy Kittleson; a sister, Charlotte Kittleson;
and a brother-in-law, Dale Johnson.
Jim is finally at peace
and very much loved and missed.

the Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society.

Karen Marie Duncan
August 18, 2010
Karen
Marie Duncan, age 91, of Osage, died on Friday, August 13,
2010, at the Good Samaritan Society in St. Ansgar, Iowa.
Funeral services were held
at 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday, August 17, at the Our Savior's
Lutheran Church in Osage, with Rev. Dennis Hanson
officiating. Burial was in the Osage Cemetery.
Karen was born on August
23, 1918 in Elma, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Clara
(Hilling) Johnson. She graduated from the Mitchell High
School in 1935. Karen married Wendell A. "WAD" Duncan on
April 4, 1942 in Biloxi, Mississippi. Following the war,
they returned to Osage and operated the Soda Grill for 16
years. Karen also worked in the school hot lunch program
until her retirement.
She was a member of the
Our Savior's Lutheran Church. Karen enjoyed church
activities, reading and gardening.
Karen is survived by her
son, James Duncan of Portland, Oregon; her daughter, Janelle
Duncan of Osage; and her sister, Minerva (Merle) Hanson of
Rochester, Minnesota.
She was preceded in death
by her parents; her husband, Wendell A. "WAD" Duncan in
1998; her son, Douglas Duncan; and two brothers, Lester and
Doyle Johnson.

Regina Anna May
August 18, 2010
Regina
Anna May, age 94, of Stacyville, died on Saturday, August
14, 2010, at the Stacyville Community Nursing Home in
Stacyville, where she had resided the last 12 days.
A Mass of Christian Burial
will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Thursday, August 19, at the
Visitation Catholic Church in Stacyville, with Rev. John
Moser officiating. Burial will be in the Visitation Catholic
Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8:00 p.m., on Wednesday,
at the Visitation Catholic Church, with a rosary at 4:15
p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Regina's
name to the Hospice of North Iowa or to the Stacyville
Community Nursing Home.
Regina was born on August
19, 1915, on the Bissen Family Farm near Johnsburg,
Minnesota, the daughter of John P. and Elizabeth (Schmitz)
Bissen. She attended the St. John's Grade School in
Johnsburg and went to school for 2 years at the Good Counsel
Academy in Mankato, Minnesota. Regina was united in marriage
to Bernard J. May on November 15, 1938 at Johnsburg,
Minnesota. They farmed in the Johnsburg area until retiring
to Stacyville in 1977.
Regina was a member of the
Visitation Catholic Church and was a faithful volunteer at
the Stacyville Nursing Home.
Regina is survived by nine
children, Robert (Audrey) May of Stacyville, Rita (Daniel)
McCoy of Rochester, Minnesota, Carol (John) Sullivan of
Osage, Ann Wolf of Sheffield, Gerard (Janet) May of Osage,
Edward (Teresa) May of Stacyville, Pamela (Richard) Fox of
Cedar Rapids, Mark (Rosanne) May of Adams, Minnesota and
Cathy (Dan) Moellenbeck of Granger, Iowa; 27 grandchildren;
16 great-grandchildren; a sister, Marie Koenigs of
Stacyville; three brothers-in-law, Tony May of Fond du Lac,
Wisconsin, Joe Martyniak of Taunton, Massachusetts and Fred
(Dorothy) May of Rose Creek, Minnesota.
She was preceded in death
by her parents; her husband, Bernard in 2002; a son, John in
1974; a great-grandson, Graham McCoy; a son-in-law, Tom Wolf
in 2009; and a brother, Arthur.

Ralph Davis Souder
August 18, 2010
Ralph
Davis Souder, age 94, of Osage, died on Sunday, August 15,
2010, at the Faith Lutheran Home in Osage.
Funeral services will be
held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, August 20, at the United
Church of Christ in Osage, with Pastor Deborah Gage
officiating. Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery in
Floyd. Visitation is from 5-8:00 p.m., on Thursday, at the
Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage.
Ralph was born on December
30, 1915 in Rockwell City, Iowa, the son of George Starr and
Cora (Davis) Souder. He attended Calhoun County rural
schools and graduated from the Rockwell City High School in
1934. Ralph attended the Coyne Electronics School in Chicago
and then returned home to farm. He was united in marriage to
Marjorie Eyerly on November 16, 1941 in Winterset, Iowa. To
this union was born two sons, Charles Eyerly and Edward
Davis. They farmed at Rockwell City for two years and then
moved to Floyd County, rural Rudd, where they farmed for
almost 60 years.
Ralph was a member of
Osage United Church of Christ (Congregational) serving as a
deacon, trustee and on other committees. He was a 4-H
Leader, member of the Floyd County Conservation Board and
was very dedicated to soil conservation for future
generations. Ralph also served on the Rudd Elevator Board,
Floyd County Fair Board, Farm Service Co-op Board,
Production Credit Association of Mason City Board and the
Central Livestock Association of St. Paul Board. Ralph was a
life member of the Cedar Valley Engine Club. He was a member
of the Floyd County, Iowa and National Cattlemen's
Associations and was a true cattleman for over 60 years. In
1990, Ralph was named the Floyd County cattleman of the
year. Farm mechanics and electronics were very important to
him and he patiently taught his sons the same. Ralph was a
devoted husband, father and grandfather and promoted his
family's future education. Family fishing trips were a great
and rewarding experience for Ralph.
Ralph is survived by his
wife, Marjorie Souder of Osage; two sons, Charles (Dianne)
Souder of Rudd and Edward Souder of Osage; five
grandchildren, Stacy (Ben) Bolin, Linda (Todd) Davis,
Charles (Tricia) Souder, Sarah (Andrew) Johnson and Mary
Souder; and 7 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death
by his parents; two brothers, Walter and Frank; and a
sister, Grace.

Ardella Ilene
Warrington
August 25, 2010
Ardella Ilene Warrington,
91, of St. Ansgar, died on Thursday, August 19, 2010, at the
Mitchell County Regional Health Center, Osage.
Funeral services were held
at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, August 23, at the First Lutheran
Church, St. Ansgar, with Rev. Robert Porisch officiating.
Burial was in the First Lutheran Cemetery.
Ardella Ilene Groth
Warrington, was born in St. Ansgar, Iowa on September 8,
1918, the daughter of Anton C. and Ida Gunderson Groth. She
was the only daughter in a family of seven children. Ardella
was baptized on October 6, 1918 by Rev. M.E. Waldeland at
the First Lutheran Church and confirmed on June 3, 1933 by
Rev. O. A. Langehough. Ardella
graduated from the St. Ansgar High School with the class of
1936. She furthered her education at Waldorf College, Forest
City, where she received an AA Degree in Elementary
Education. She taught departmental work in Junior High at
Lehigh and Randall, Iowa. Summers were spent at the
University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls. After teaching
several years, she became interested in doing something for
our country in time of war besides waiting for a certain GI
who was serving in the Red Bull division overseas.
Ardella
attended Electronic Communication School in Omaha, graduated
and was hired by the Air Service Command, Wright Field,
Dayton, Ohio. She resigned her job in Ohio in September
1945, coming home to St. Ansgar to be married on October 6,
1945, to Clifford Warrington at the First Lutheran Church.
They lived in Osage for several years and she taught at
Orchard. In 1952, they moved to St. Ansgar and she taught at
Mitchell. Two years later they purchased St. Ansgar Plumbing
and Heating. She was the bookkeeper and also did secretarial
work at the First Lutheran Church.
She was active in church
and community club affairs: American Lutheran Church Women,
St. Ansgar Circuit, Mason City Conference, Iowa District
serving as Secretary. She served sixteen years as President
of the First Lutheran Church Women, also serving as a Sunday
School teacher, Bible Study leader. Being Norwegian, Ardella
also belong to Hallinglag, Solorlag, Vesterheim and the Sons
of Norway. Her father and brothers were genealogists, so she
joined this family project.
Ardella
lived her life for others, her parents, her siblings, her
husband, her church, her former students and her many
friends. She cared for them and about them. She helped them,
laughed with them and loved them. She will be remembered for
her unshakable faith in Jesus Christ and for the many lives
she touched in her journey here on earth.
Survivors include a
brother-in-law, Charles E. Warrington of Gibbon, Nebraska; a
sister-in-law, Mrs. T.B. Warrington of San Benito, Texas;
nine nephews, ten nieces, many grand, great-grand,
great-great-grand, and great-great-great-grand-nieces and
nephews. Also special friends, Helen Lindholm, Minerva
Millard, Rogene Gordon, Marcella Walk, Audrey McKinley and
Grace Johnson.
Preceding her in death
were her husband; parents; six siblings; and relatives and
friends.

Kenneth L. Anderson
August 25, 2010
Kenneth
L. Anderson, age 83, of Osage, died on Sunday, August 22,
2010, at the Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason
City.
Funeral services will be
held at 1:30 p.m., on Thursday, August 26, at the Our
Savior's Lutheran Church in Osage, with Rev. Dennis Hanson
and Rev. Roy Ott officiating. Burial will be in the Osage
Cemetery, with military honors at the grave by the Osage
American Legion Post 278. Visitation is from 5-7:00 p.m., on
Wednesday, at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage.
Kenneth was born on
January 7, 1927 in rural Mitchell County, Iowa, the son of
Gilbert and Stella (Odden) Anderson. Kenneth graduated from
the Osage High School in 1944. He served in the U.S. Navy in
the Pacific in World War II. He was married to Eunice Lorenz
on September 21, 1947 in Osage. He and Eunice farmed west of
Osage for many years. In 1967, they moved off the farm.
Kenneth worked in the ag chemical and fertilizer business
for many years in Grafton, Emery, Clear Lake, Meservey and
Klemme. When he retired from the Klemme Cooperative
Elevator, he and Eunice moved back to Osage to be close to
friends and family.
Kenneth was a member of
the Our Savior's Lutheran Church and the American Legion. He
loved to play cards with his "Card Club" for over 40 years.
He also enjoyed golfing, drawing and painting, traveling and
spending time with family and friends, especially his
grandchildren. He was an all around handy man and would do
anything to help others.
Kenneth is survived by his
children, Linda Hughes of Charles City and Tom (Peggy)
Anderson of Clear Lake; grandchildren, Bryan (Emily) Hughes
and their son, Daxton of Norwalk, Megan Hughes of West Des
Moines; a sister, Clarice (Bill) Vance of Iowa City; a
brother, Gerald (Karen) Anderson of Boone; and many nieces
and nephews.
He was preceded in death
by his wife, Eunice Anderson in February 2010; his parents;
and a sister, Margaret Christensen.

Edna A. Schaub
September 1, 2010
Kensett-Edna A. Schaub,
87, of rural Kensett, died on Monday, August 23, 2010, at
the Lutheran Retirement Home, Northwood, Iowa.
Funeral services were held
on Wednesday, August 25, at 10:30 a.m., at the Emmanuel
Lutheran Church, Grafton, with Rev. Ron Bolinger
officiating. Burial was in the Grafton Cemetery.
Edna was born on November
1, 1922 near Grafton, Iowa, to Leonard and Edvina (Wilde)
Walk. She married Ellis "Bud" Schaub on August 24, 1947,
which would have been their 63rd anniversary. Edna was
baptized, confirmed, married and will be buried in the
Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Grafton. She taught Sunday School
for nearly 50 years and was a circle member at the church.
After her farming years, Edna worked at the Manly Care
Center.
Together with Bud, they
were members of Trail Riders Organizations and enjoyed the
friends from those organizations. Family, community and
church were very important to Edna.
She was preceded in death
by her parents; brother, Clarence Walk and sister-in-law,
Ethel Walk.
Edna is survived by her
husband, Ellis "Bud" of Kensett; three sons, Lynn (Sharon)
Schaub of Northwood, Curt (Julie) Schaub of Grafton and Jay
Schaub of Grafton; grandchildren, Eric (Angie) Schaub, Brent
Schaub and Michael Schaub; great-grandchildren, Alex and Zac
Schaub; step-grandchildren, Tyler (Kelly) Jansen, Tony
(Kizzy) Jansen and Sara Jansen; step-great-grandchild,
Elijah Jansen; and several nieces and nephews.

Helen (Stearns)
French
September 1, 2010
Helen (Stearns) French,
96, of Osage, passed away on Saturday, August 28, 2010, at
the Stacyville Community Nursing Home in Stacyville, where
she had lived for the past six years.
Helen has donated her body
to the University of Iowa Anatomical Department. Memorial
services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, September 3,
at the United Church of Christ in Osage, with Pastor Ruth
Moerdyk officiating. There will be a gathering from 5-7:00
p.m., on Thursday, at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in
Osage.
Helen was born on April
25, 1914, in the family home on Pleasant Street in Osage.
She was the third of five children born to Fred and Zadie
(Tupper) Stearns. Helen's grandfather was one of the
original campers at Spring Park and helped build the spring.
This was the beginning of the Tupper-Stearns family's love
of Spring Park, where Helen loved camping during the summers
of 1920-25. The family left for the park before Memorial Day
and returned to their home in time for school in the fall.
She shared her love of Spring Park with her children,
grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Walking to the park
"the back way" and having breakfast is a continuing family
tradition. The day after she graduated from the Osage High
School, Helen began working at the abstract office and law
offices of Hearst Duncan, a job she had for 10 years. Helen
and Claire French were married on August 30, 1941 in
Sturgis, South Dakota and later moved to Denver, Colorado,
where he was stationed with the Army. They had two children,
Nancy and Sally.
She was involved in many
organizations and volunteered her time and talents often:
P.E.O. Sisterhood, Women's Fellowship at the Congregational
Church, Republican Central Committee, Brownies and Girl
Scouts, sewing club, Music Club, Red Cross. Helen's family,
533 State and the community of Osage were her life. Her
caring and support touched many people, whether it was
hosting gatherings at her home, caring for those who were
sick or extending a loving hand. Her support never ended.
Survivors include her two
daughters, Nancy (Jerry) Danforth of Cedar Rapids and Sally
(Bob) Miller of Osage; her five grandchildren, Jeff (Truscee)
Danforth, Chad (Janet) Danforth, Robyn (Dave) Keele, Joe
(Brenda) Miller and Jaci (Dan) Donlan; nine
great-grandchildren; her nieces, Jeanie (Lars) Larson and
Anne Stearns Tanner; her nephew, Rick (Linda) Stearns; her
two sisters-in-law, Mary Helen French of Osage and Joan
Limke of Urbandale.

Floyd G. Momberg
September 1, 2010
Funeral
services for Floyd G. Momberg, formerly of Charles City,
will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, September 4, 2010,
at the First Congregational Church, U.C.C in Orchard, Iowa,
with Pastor Jan Tjaden officiating. The family will greet
guests one hour prior to the services at the church. A
military memorial will follow the service at the Orchard
Cemetery, with honorary military rites conducted by the
Osage American Legion Post #278. There will be a luncheon at
the Osage American Legion following the burial. All family
and friends are welcome to attend.
Floyd G. Momberg, of
Upland, California, passed away surrounded by family on
Friday, June 11, 2010. He was born in Charles City, Iowa on
December 14, 1929, the son of Hilbert Momberg and Mildred (Peper).
Floyd enlisted in the U. S. Army at age 17. His 7-year
career included paratrooper/rifle squad leader with the
187th Airborne Infantry Division. Two "jumps" were behind
enemy lines during the Korean War. He received two Purple
Hearts and the Bronze Star Medal. The majority of his time
was spent in Japan as master sergeant with the military
police.
First and foremost Floyd
was a devoted family man and leader, first to his mother and
siblings and then his wife and children. Floyd married
Joanna Crawford of Orchard, Iowa in Pomona, California in
1958. He truly enjoyed his 20-year career at Market Spot in
Pomona and owning and operating Hilton Financial for 10
years. He loved fishing the rivers of his childhood in Iowa.
He was an avid reader and lifelong learner.
Floyd is survived by his
wife, Joanna; four children, Mark (Lisa), Michele (Robin)
Balsimo, Mike (Mari) and Matt (Lisa) and seven
grandchildren.
His mother and father; and
brothers, John Paulsrud and Dean Momberg preceded him in
death.

Marcia Lynn
(Johnson) Leidall
September 8, 2010
Marcia
Lynn (Johnson) Leidall, 60, passed away peacefully in her
home with her family at her side, on Monday, August 30,
2010.
Memorial services were
held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, September 4, at the Deer
Creek Lutheran Church, Carpenter, with Rev. Gary Gonnerman
officiating. Burial was in the First Lutheran Cemetery, St.
Ansgar.
Marcia was born on
November 29, 1949, to Emil and Lillian (Robertson) Johnson
in Osage, Iowa. She grew up on a farm west of Otranto, Iowa.
She was baptized and confirmed at the Deer Creek Lutheran
Church in Carpenter. She attended grade school in Otranto,
junior high school in Grafton and high school in St. Ansgar.
Marcia attended the Mason City School of Cosmetology and
graduated with the class of 1968. Marcia was united in
marriage to Terry Leidall on December 20, 1968 at the Deer
Creek Lutheran Church and they were blessed with the birth
of two children, Jason and Kelly. Marcia worked for the Good
Samaritan Center in St. Ansgar as a C.N.A/Therapy Aid for
over 30 years.
Marcia was a wonderful
wife, mother and grandma! Her greatest joy was spending time
with her family and watching her grandchildren grow. Marcia
loved vacationing in Northern Minnesota, visiting her
sister, fishing the many lakes, sitting around the campfire
with her family and listening to the loons after a good fish
fry. Each of us holds our own precious memory of Marcia in
our hearts and she would want every person who touched her
life to honor her memory in their own way.
She was preceded in death

Marcia is survived by her
loving husband, Terry Leidall of St. Ansgar; her son, Jason
(Bridget) Leidall of Greenville, Wisconsin; her daughter,
Kelly (Chad) Baker of New London, Wisconsin; grandchildren,
Colin Leidall, Ashlee Leidall, Callista Baker, Ryann Baker
and Jace Baker; sister, Sharon (John) Goplerud of Park
Rapids, Minnesota; brother, Dean Johnson of Phoenix,
Arizona; father-in-law, Paul (Melba) Leidall of Osage;
brother-in-law, Dennis (Jessica) Leidall of Santa Barbara,
California; sisters-in-law, Debbie Shouman of Indio,
California and Tori Lowe of LaQuinta, California; nieces and
nephews, Laurie (Kevin) Springer, Kristy (Chuck) Howrey,
Darrell Johnson, Mary (Darwin) McKeen, Chris (Dee) Goplerud,
