Violet B. Wagner

November 13, 2001

Violet B. Wagner, 93, died on Wednesday, October 31, 2001, at the Belmond Health Care Center in Belmond.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, November 3, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Belmond, officiated by Pastor Rod Hopp. Music was provided by Eldoris Bunnell, organist and Marilyn Janssen, vocalist. Casket bearers were Steve Wagner, Dan Wagner, Scott Jackson, Craig Wagner, Doyle Wagner and Neal Jackson. Ushers were Loren Bamford and Francis Morris. Interment was in the Belmond Cemetery near Belmond.

Violet Bessie Tuttle, was born on a farm south of Belmond on April 27, 1908, to Andrew and Elsie (Tuntland) Tuttle. She was the youngest of ten children. Violet was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Belmond. She grew up south of Belmond, where she attended country schools.

Violet was married to Chris Wagner on March 3, 1928, in Dows. The couple made their home in the Belmond area.

Violet was a Gold Star Mother in the American Legion Auxiliary and she held offices for many years in the auxiliary. She was also a member of the Grandmothers Club, Hospital Auxiliary and Senior Citizens.

Violet was fond of all kinds of music and enjoyed playing cards.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Chris in 1971; two sons, Richard and Jackie; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; seven brothers, Guy, Melvin, Levi, Art, Ed, Morgan and Clifford; two sisters, Allie and Ellen.

Survivors are her three sons and daughters-in-law, Roger and Marge Wagner of Northwood, Verdell and Juanita Wagner of Vernal, Utah and Howard and Jeanne Wagner of Webster, Wisconsin; a daughter and son-in-law, Kaye and Paul Jackson of Kanawha; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
