Helen Didio

Helen Irene Didio, 73, died on Monday, November 5, 2001, at the Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Thursday, November 8, at the St. John's Catholic Church in Clarion, with Father David Beckman officiating. Burial was in the St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Clarion.

Helen, the daughter of Percy and Gunda (Evans) Moore, was born on April 15, 1928, in Wright County. She graduated from the Popejoy High School.

Helen and Robert Merlyn Didio, were united in marriage on August 16, 1947, at the St. John's Catholic Church in Clarion. The couple lived in Clarion where Helen was a homemaker. She enjoyed reading, caring for plants and flowers, cooking and baking.

Helen was a member of the St. John's Catholic Church and the church circle.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Merlyn; two sons, Daryl and Jeffery; one grandson, Alexander; and one sister, Doris.

Helen is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Kevin and Karen Didio of Marion and Brian Didio of Clarion; two grandsons, Brandon and Andy Didio; two sisters, Lucille Anderson of Dows and Thelma Westray of Rippey; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald "Bud" and June Moore of Belmond, Herb and Colleen Moore of Williams, Max and Barb Moore of Williams and Walter and Marlys Moore of Dows.

June Rose Hansen

November 13, 2001

June Rose Hansen, 85, a long time resident of the Belmond and Alexander areas, died on Thursday, November 8, 2001, at the Belmond Medical Center.

Funeral services were held on Monday, November 12, at the United Methodist Church in Alexander, with Pastor Tony Hershey officiating. Music was by Carol Richards, organist and Marvin Draper, soloist. Usher was Marvin Draper. Casket bearers were Jason Walrod, Steve Walrod, Dallas Card, Dennis Vanness, Lawrence Hansen, Gary Jessen and Bob Pals. Interment was in the Alexander Cemetery.

June Walrod, was born on June 3, 1916 in Stratford, the daughter of William Owen and Janet "Jenny" Isabel Mickelson Walrod. She moved with her family at age five to Belmond, where she graduated from the Belmond High school in 1934. She then did housekeeping for the Richards family in Mason City.

June married Wilbert Hansen on August 24, 1935 in Galena, Illinois. The couple returned to operate the family farm in rural Alexander. The Hansen's spent many summers caring for June's siblings, William, Douglas and Dale who helped out with the farming duties.

June was active in the Methodist Church in Alexander, where she was involved in the ladies aid. June and Wilbert moved to Belmond after retiring from farming in 1992.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wilbert in 1994; two sisters, Helen and Lois; four brothers, Clayton, Charles, Gerald and Lawrence and one brother, Randall Todd Walrod in infancy.

Survivors are her daughter and son-in-law, Val Jean and Wayne Bohning of Beach Park, Illinois; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, William and Jean Walrod, Dale and Nadine Walrod and Douglas Walrod, all of Belmond; her grandchildren, Kenneth and Mary Bohning and their children, Kenny, Jackie and Kelly Bohning of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, Kristy and Joseph Bragg and their children, Sarah and Ryan of Gurnee, Illinois and Rick and Wendy Bohning of Des Plaines, Illinois.
