Doris Back

August 4, 2001

Doris Evelyn Back, died on Friday, August 3, 2001, at her home in Klemme.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, August 7, at the United Methodist Church in Klemme, with Pastor Paddy Druhl officiating. Interment was in the Ell Township Cemetery near Klemme.

Music was provided by Margaret Tue, organist and Clay Kilgore, vocalist. Ushers were Raymond Schoenwetter and Calvin Bruggeman. Casket bearers were Harley Nuehring, Dave Ott, Joel Back, Ed Lents, Jack Williams and Clay Kilgore.

Doris Evelyn Johnson, the daughter of John Agard and Hilma (Arvidsson) Johnson was born August 22, 1921, in Klemme.

She was united in marriage to Graydon Back on May 27, 1949 at Klemme. Doris worked at Larson's Grocery Store in Klemme, and the United States Post Office in Klemme.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Klemme, the United Methodist Women, and American Legion Auxiliary.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Graydon in 1989; grandsons, Nicholas and John Tosel; brothers, Fridolph Johnson and Harold Johnson; and sisters, Bertha Johnson and Ruth Carson.

Survivors are her daughters and sons-in-law, Becky and Steve Tosel of Mason City and Mary and Terry Balek of Mason City; grandchildren, Kimberly, Kerrill, Kathryn, and Krista Balek, Timothy and Ann Tosel; one sister, Ethel Steffen of Waterloo; sister-in-law, Charlene Back of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; and many nieces and nephews.
