Donald Gaskill, 86

July 11, 2001

NORTHWOOD-Donald C. Gaskill, 86, of Northwood, died on Monday, July 2, 2001, at the Lake Mills Care Center.

Funeral services were held on Friday, July 6, at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Joice. The Rev. Elwin Walvatne officiated.

Survivors include his children, Phyllis Hrubetz of Mason City, David Gaskill of Adams, Minnesota, Wayne Gaskill of Austin, Minnesota, Mike Gaskill and his wife, Deb of Lake Mills, Ray Gaskill and his wife, Ree of Lake Mills and Bob Gaskill and his wife, Terry of Marshalltown; 19 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Larry Larson, 54

July 11, 2001

FOREST CITY-Larry L. Larson, 54, of Forest City, died on Tuesday, July 3, 2001.

Funeral services were held on Friday, July 6, at the United Methodist Church in Forest City. Pastor Gary Marzolf officiated, with interment in the Madison Township Cemetery, Forest City. Military rites were provided by the American Legion Post No. 121.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth of Forest City; two daughters, Jennifer Lammers and her husband, Daniel and their daughter, Madison of Bolingbrook, Illinois and Melissa Murphy and her husband, Joseph and their son, Parker of DeWitt; his mother, Darlene Larson of Forest City; two sisters, Twyla Stenzel and her husband, Mark of Forest City and Tricia Hanson of Adel; and many nieces and nephews.

William Albers, 88

July 11, 2001

LAKE MILLS-William "Bill" Albers, 88, of Lake Mills, died on Wednesday, July 4, 2001, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 7, at the Asbury United Methodist Church in Lake Mills. The Rev. Jeanne Martin officiated.

Survivors include his wife, Mary of Lake Mills; two sons, Maynard Albers and his wife, Mary of Owatonna, Minnesota and Kenn Albers and his wife, Rondi of San Diego, California; three daughters, Marcene and her husband, Walt Harms of New Braunfels, Texas, Kathy and her husband, Dean Richardson of Waseca, Minnesota and Jeanne and her husband, Floyd Fuller of Lake Mills; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two brothers, Ernest Albers of California and Ted Albers of Buffalo Center; two sisters, Margretta Steen of Buffalo Center and Mabel Kadlecik of Britt; along with many nieces and nephews.

James Faber, 45

July 11, 2001

PLAINFIELD-James Delbert Faber, 45, of Plainfield, died on Thursday, July 5, 2001, at his home from an apparent heart attack.

A Celebration of Life Service was held on Monday, July 9, at the Heritage United Methodist Church in Waverly. The Reverends Nathan N. Frazee and Gary Marzolf officiated.

Survivors include his wife, Karla of Plainfield; his two sons, Josh and Andrew Faber, both of Forest City; his two step-children, Danielle and Eric Sloan of Plainfield; his mother, Phyllis Faber of Forest City; his brother, Alan Faber and his wife, Denise and their children, Jesse and Lindsey, all of Woden; one nephew, Matthew Faber of Beulah, Wyoming; and his former wife, Kathy of Forest City.

Steven Tenney, 40

FOREST CITY-Steven C. Tenney, 40, died on Thursday, July 5, 2001, at Forest City.

Memorial services were held on Saturday, July 7, at the Petersen Lund Funeral Home. Pastor Michelle Simonson officiated.

Tenney is survived by his parents, Clyde and Ardith Tenney of Forest City; two sisters, Marsha Richardson and brother-in-law, Dennis and their two children, Daniel and Teresa of Forest City and Carolyn Payne and her husband, Ray of Las Vegas, Nevada; a brother, Randy Tenney of Denver, Colorado; two half-sisters, Linda Juhl and her husband, Carl of Eau Claire, Wisconsin and Carol Ann Schmitz and her husband, Joe of Mason City; and several nieces and nephews.

Russel Reindal, 86

July 11, 2001

SCARVILLE-Russel O. Reindal, 86, of Scarville, died on Sunday, July 8, 2001, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Thursday, July 12, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Scarville. The Rev. Randy Baldwin will officiate. Burial will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery near Scarville, with military rites conducted by the Emmons Louis/Tviete Post 317. Visitation will be from 5-8:00 p.m., on Wednesday, at the Mittelstadt Funeral Home in Lake Mills and again one hour before the services at the church.

LAKE MILLS-John I. Solomonson, 93, of Lake Mills, died on Monday, July 9, 2001, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City. 

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Wednesday, July 11, at the North Prairie Lutheran Church, rural Leland. The Reverends Randy Baldwin and Merlin Norris will officiate.

Survivors include his wife, Opal of Lake Mills; one son, Owen Solomonson of Lake Mills; two daughters, Sonia Solomonson of Streamwood, Illinois and Cheryl Crockett and her husband, Larry of Eagan, Minnesota; six grandchildren, Peter Groenewold and his wife, Sandi of Appleton, Wisconsin, Joel Groenewold and his wife, Suzie of Hinsdale, Illinois, Aaron Groenewold of Normal, Illinois, Randy Nelson of San Antonio, Texas, Kelsey Crockett of Eagan, Minnesota and Carmen Crockett of Eagan, Minnesota; six great-grandchildren, Spencer, Noah, Gretchen, Maggie and Elizabeth Groenewold of Hinsdale and Olivia Groenewold of Appleton; two sisters, Cathryn Gullixson of Minneapolis and Evelyn Matson of Amery, Wisconsin; and a brother, Milford Solomonson of Amery, Wisconsin.

Paul Jenn, 25 

August 8, 2001

WEST BRANCH-Paul Nathaniel Jenn, 25, of West Branch, formerly of Britt, died on Saturday, July 28, 2001, as a result of a motor vehicle accident north of Ventura.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, August 2, at the West Hancock High School in Britt. The Reverends Brooks Simpson and Chuck Walton officiated. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery in Britt.

Survivors include his wife, Angela of West Branch; his parents, John Jenn of Britt and Lucinda McClellan and her husband, Clifford of Temple, Texas; one brother, Stephen Jenn and his children, Jeff, Brady and Cheree Jenn of Garner; and two sisters, Laurel Thomas and her husband, Jon of Manassas, Virginia and Kristin Jenn of Britt.
