Bonnie Rush


St. Ansgar, Ia—Bonnie L. Rush, 79, of St. Ansgar, died Saturday, October 30, 2010 at Good Samaritan Society, St. Ansgar. Memorial services will be held at 1:30 PM on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, 207 S. School St., St. Ansgar with Rev. Gary Gonnerman officiating. Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, St. Ansgar.

Bonnie L. Rush was born April 15, 1931, the daughter of Richard and Velma
(Wilkinson) Mueller, in Johnson County, Iowa. She was a graduate of St. Ansgar
High School and attended Nurses Training at Bethany Lutheran in Mankato, MN.

On February 25, 1951 she married Edward Rush. She worked at St. Ansgar Good
Samaritan Society in the craft department and later as a home health aid.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Bonnie is survived by
three children, Richard of West Palm Beach, FL; Donal of Des Moines,IA; and
Leeann(Dan) Mace of Kiester, MN; two grandsons, Jeff Mace of Kiester, MN and
Eddie (Mercedes) Mace of Newport News, VA.


Eugene (Gene) Sites

Northwood, IA—Harry Eugene (Gene) Sites, 61, of Northwood, died Saturday, November 13, 2010 at Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City, IA.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at Braman and Bailey Funeral Home, North Judson, IN with a visitation beginning at 11:00 AM prior to funeral services. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery, North Judson, IN. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 17, 2010 from 4:00-7:00 PM at Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, Hwy 65 South, Northwood, IA.

Gene Sites was born January 29, 1949 in Rensselear, IN to Harry and Sara Alice (Lowry) Sites. He graduated from North Judson-San Pierre High School in 1967, and graduated from Indiana College of Mortuary Science, Indianapolis, IN in 1969. He was a funeral director for over 40 years, and for the last 30 years was co-owner of Schroeder & Sites Funeral Homes in Northwood and St. Ansgar.

On September 23, 1979, he was united in marriage to his wife Patricia (Trish) King of 31 years, in Indianapolis, IN at Lawrence United Methodist Church. Family and friends were an important part of Gene’s life. Among other interests included his love of dogs and the outdoors. He was preceded in death by his father Harry Sites.

Gene is survived by his wife Trish Sites of Northwood, IA; his mother Sarah Alice Sites of North Judson, IN; sister Sharon (Tim) Richie of Kouts, IN; and brother Larry (Peggy) Sites of Knox, IN; nieces and nephews Kevin Richie and his children Michelle, Jessica and Kara; Scott (Dara) Richie and children Logan and Landon; Lisa (Josh) Keaton and daughter Alexa; Dustin (Erica) Sites and daughter Emma; and Jenna Sites.
Carl Wolters

Carl Wolters, 1952 graduate of St. Ansgar High School, entered into his Heavenly Father’s presence on October 30, 2010.

Carl was born in Cole Camp, MO in 1935 to the Reverend Herman and Anna Wolters, nee Wiebush. Carl’s father ministered at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church from 1948 to 1953.

After graduation, Carl served a military tour in Japan which included playing baseball on the camp’s team. He attended St. Paul’s Junior College, Concordia, MO., graduating in 1962 from Concordia Teachers College in Seward, Nebraska.

Carl taught in Lutheran schools in MN before moving to the Kansas City area where he taught 28 years in the Hickman Mills School District. He received a heart transplant in 2003.

Throughout his life he enjoyed playing baseball, reading history, driving extensively throughout the US and teaching hundreds of children.

He is survived by Darla of Independence, MO, his wife of 47 years, son Steven and fiancée Stacy, daughter Carla, brother Paul of Westwood, KS and sister Ann Wolters of Concordia, MO.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Shirley Fredrickson and Ruth Toney and brothers Donald and John. He was given Christian burial on Nov. 2nd at St. Paul’s Cemetery in Concordia, MO.
