Mae Braun

Northwood, IA- Mae Braun, 82, formerly of St. Ansgar, Iowa, died on Thursday,
December 31, 2009 at the Lutheran Retirement Home, Northwood, Iowa. Funeral
service will be on January 2, 2010 at 1:00 PM at the Immanuel Lutheran Church,
St. Ansgar, with Rev. Dr. Byron Northwick officiating. Visitation will take
place after 11:00 AM Saturday at the church. Burial will be in the Immanuel
Lutheran Cemetery, St. Ansgar.

Mae was born July 21, 1927 in Waltham, Minnesota, to Carl and Amanda
(Gade) Griese. She married Wilfred Braun on September 24, 1944 in Austin,
Minnesota. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, garage sales, cooking and baking.
Her church was a very important part of her life. Mae liked to collect salt
and pepper shakers, tea cups, china dolls and stuffed animals.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one brother, Lawrence.

Mae is survived by three daughters; Eva Brass of Forest City, IA, Carol
Tackett of Butler, MO., and Susan (Dave) Hartwig of Northwood, IA.; nine
grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; two brothers, Walter (Audrey)
Griese of Big Lake, MN., Leonard (Terri) Griese, Owatona,MN.; Ruth Houff of
Austin, MN., Betty Borotz of Golden Valley, MN., June (Danald) Hafften of
Rochester, MN., Verna (Charles) Hafften of Hudson, WI.

Darlene Jean Bublitz

Clear Lake, Iowa- Darlene Jean Bublitz, formerly of St. Ansgar, Iowa,
died on Friday, January 1, 2010, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient
Unit, Mason City, Iowa. Memorial service will be held on Tuesday,
January 5, 2010 at 1:30 PM at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar,
with Rev. Dr. Byron Northwick officiating. Burial will be in the
Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, St. Ansgar. Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home
of St. Ansgar is in charge of arrangements.

Darlene was born on June 16, 1956 at Mitchell County Memorial Hospital,
Osage, Iowa, to Robert and Patricia (Cummings) Bublitz of St.Ansgar. She
graduated from St. Ansgar High School in 1974. She suffered a stroke in
1976. After hospitalization and rehabilitation, in 1979 she moved to
Clear Lake, Iowa, where she spent the next 30 years with the caring
staff and residents at Opportunity Village. They were all considered
part of her extended family.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Bublitz; brother,
Curtis; grandparents Arnold and Wilma Bublitz, Mike and Viola Cummings;
three uncles.

Left to cherish her memory is her mother, Patricia Bublitz; a brother,
James (Julie) Bublitz of Waverly, IA; a sister, JoAnn(John) Fischer of
Mitchell, IA; nieces and nephews, Shane (Shelly) Bublitz, Nick (Beth)
Bublitz, Jamie (Bill) Hennessey, Jesse(Katie) Fischer; great nieces and
nephews, Parker, Keagan and Ava Hennessey; Wesley Johnson and Leah
Fischer; four aunts; two uncles; several cousins and her special family,
the Staff and Residents of Opportunity Village.

Eugene Allen Bartz

Grafton , IA --Eugene Allen Bartz, 74, of Grafton died December 22, 2009
at his home. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM on March 6, 2010
at Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, Hwy 65 South in Northwood.

Gene was born March 2, 1935, Son of Alvin and Vera (Hartwig) Bartz. He
was baptized and confirmed at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Grafton , IA.
He graduated from Grafton High School , Class of 1953. He married Joann
Heizelman on March 4, 1956. They had four children. He farmed all his
life in the Grafton area.

He is preceded in death by his son Michael Bartz, mother Vera Bartz and
father Alvin Bartz, brother Roger Bartz.

He is survived by: Daughter Bonnie (and Dean) Crosier of Bloomington,
IL., Granddaughter Kathryn (and Matthew) Lollar and great grand children
Bridget and Graham; Grandson Kelsey Thayer; Daughter Brenda (and Greg)
Evenson of Boone, IA; Grandsons Ryan Billings and Karl Billings; Son
Mark (and Rebecca) Bartz of Mason City, IA; the children’s mother Joann
Bartz of Mason City, IA; his sister Marjorie Lane of Minneapolis, MN.

Dallas Marie Borcherding

St. Ansgar, Iowa
Dallas Marie Borcherding, age 82, of St. Ansgar, Iowa peacefully passed
away on Saturday, January 9, 2010, at the St. Ansgar Good Samaritan
Center in St. Ansgar, Iowa.
The funeral service for Mrs. Borcherding will be at l:30P.M., Tuesday,
January 12, 2010 at the First Lutheran Church in St. Ansgar, Iowa with
Rev. Robert Porisch officiating. Burial will take place at the St.
Ansgar Cemetery in St. Ansgar, Iowa. Visitation will be on Tuesday,
January 11, 2010 from 4:00PM to 6:00PM at the Schroeder & Sites Funeral
Home, 207 South School Street, St. Ansgar, Iowa. Visitation will
continue on hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church.
Dallas was born on October 30, 1927 in Deer Creek Township, Worth
County, Iowa, daughter of H. Emil and Myrte (Pike) Hansen. She attended
Otranto consolidated school and St. Ansgar High School. She married
Raymond L. Borcherding at her parent's home on an icy December 23, l944
in Otranto Township. The family lived on a farm in Deer Creek Township
for 23 years. They bought a farm northeast of St. Ansgar and moved into
town in l967. In l974 a new house was built and they moved out to the
farm where they currently reside.
Besides raising five children, which included two sets of identical
twins, she enjoyed volunteering at Deer Creek Lutheran Church and First
Lutheran Church in St. Ansgar. She enjoyed solitaire, puzzles, and
family geneology including local research and cemetery inventories.. In
addition she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Those thankful in sharing Dallas' life include her husband Raymond of 65
years, sons Donald (Pat) of Rochester, MN; Michael (Janet) of St.
Ansgar, IA.; Marvin (Sheri) of Mason City, IA.,Daughters Linda (Bud) Bol
of Valp[araiso, IN., Marsha (Steve) Burd of Fennville, MI., 14
Grandchildren, two Great Grandchildren; and sister in law Marion
Borcherding of St. Ansgar, Iowa.
Dallas was preceded in death by her parents, infant brother Donald and
grandson Cody.
Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider donation
to a memorial fund which will be established in honor of Dallas.

Lucille C. Jones

Lucille C. Jones, age 100, of Osage, died Wednesday, January, 27, 2010,
at Faith Lutheran Home in Osage. Lucille was born November 5, 1909, in
Eyota, Minnesota, the daughter of Herman and Charlotte (Moehnke) Urban.
She was married to Milford Jones on December 5, 1929, at Cartersville,
Iowa. She was a homemaker and farmed with Milford. They lived in the
Sheffield area before moving to a farm north of Rudd in 1941 where they
lived until 1979. They moved to Osage due to Milford’s poor health.
Lucille was a member of Eden Presbyterian Church, north of Rudd. She
will be remembered for her cookie baking, chocolate cake (made from
scratch), and her special meatloaf.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, January 30, 2010,
at the Faith Lutheran Home, 914 Davidson Drive, in Osage, with Rev. John
Bates officiating. Burial will be at the Osage Cemetery. Visitation is
from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage.

*Lucille is survived by *her three children, Wayne (Carol) Jones of Rudd;
Charlotte (Jerry) Meitner of St. Ansgar, Beverly (Bill) Moss of Floyd; six grandchildren, LeRoy Jones, Loras (Andy) Aird, Leland (Barb) Meitner, 
Kenneth (Julie) Meitner, Diann (Darwin) Tabbert, Barry Moss; eleven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and friends.

*She was preceded in death by* her parents; her husband, Milford; brothers, Leon Urban and Myron Urban; sister, Lillian Lahmers; grandson, Kevin Jones;
and great-grandson, Kris Jones.
