Marreld
Cecil King, 89, of Charles City, passed away on Monday, June
1, 2009, at the Floyd County Memorial Hospital in Charles
City.
Funeral services will be
held at the Lindstrom Funeral Home in Riceville, on Friday,
June 5, at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor James Allard officiating.
Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call
on Thursday, from 4-7:00 p.m. and one hour before the
services at the funeral home.
Marreld
Cecil King, was born on April 23, 1920, on the family farm
northeast of Riceville, to his parents, George and Eva
(Johnson) King. He attended country school through the
fourth grade. He was united in marriage to Bernice Seidel on
October 9, 1940, at the St. Peter's Lutheran Church in
Riceville. To this union 2 daughters and 4 sons were born.
Marreld farmed
for a few years, owned and operated a feed truck in
Riceville and worked at the Oliver Corporation in Charles
City before retiring after 31 years.
Marreld was an avid hunter
and fisherman. He loved to collect guns and shotgun shells.
He traveled to many states to attend gun and cartridge
shows. He won many trophies and awards for his efforts.
Marreld
is survived by one daughter, Darlys and Rick Rogers of
Osage; four sons, Fred and Sharon King of Charles City,
Duane and Cleone King of Floyd, Wayne and Deborah King of
Pensacola. Florida and Cecil and Kathleen King of Robbins,
Iowa; one brother, Melvin (Bud) King of Austin, Minnesota;
and a brother-in-law, Harold and Wilma Seidel of Riceville;
20 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 6
great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death
by his parents; his wife, Bernice; a daughter, Leona Parish;
a great-granddaughter, Kellie Sue King; a
great-great-granddaughter, Aspen Faith Richards; and five
sisters.

Donald T. King

Donald Theodore King, age
47, of Lawler, Iowa, died on Wednesday, November 5, 2008, at
his home in Lawler.
Memorial services will be
held at 6:00 p.m., on Friday, June 5, 2009, at the Hugeback
& Chenoweth Funeral Home, New Hampton, with Rev. Larry
Chapin officiating. Friends may greet the family an hour
prior to the services at the funeral home
Donald Theodore King, was
born on August 3, 1961 in New Hampton, Iowa, the son of
Donald J. and Bertha A. (Moellers) King. He was a 1981
graduate of the Fredericksburg High School and had been
previously employed at the Heritage Residence in New
Hampton, Featherlite in Nashua and most recently for
Kurtenbach Farms.
Don is survived by his
father, Donald (Myrna) King Sr. of New Hampton; five
sisters, Diane (Craig) Roalfs of Osage, Deb (Bernard)
Dickman of Great Falls, Montana, Paula (Larry) Taylor of
Salina, Kansas, Dona King of Anchorage, Alaska and Lori King
of Osage; five brothers, Harold (Mary) King of
Fredericksburg, David King of New Hampton, Ronald (Deanna)
King of Loves Park, Illinois, Darryl (Gina) King of Columbus
Junction and Michael (Lisa) King of Oskaloosa.
He was preceded in death
by his mother, Bertha in 1982.

Josephine Stuckey
June 8, 2009
Josephine Stuckey, age 93, formerly of McIntire, Iowa, went
to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 3, 2009. She had been
living at the Maple Manor Village in Aplington, Iowa, for
the past year.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., on Monday, June 8,
at the Wayne Baptist Church in McIntire, with the Rev. Gary
Gilbert officiating. Burial was in the Wayne Cemetery near
McIntire.
Josephine M. Stuckey, was
born on April 13, 1916 in McIntire, Iowa, to Bertiss Johnson
and Mary (Fortney) Johnson. After her mothers death when she
was 13 months old, she was raised by her paternal
grandmother whom she referred to as "Grammy". She received
her education in the McIntire Public School and graduated
Valedictorian of the Class of 1934. On January 30, 1938, she
was united in marriage to Avery Stuckey in Riceville.
Together they raised 8 children.
She enjoyed doing
crossword puzzles, reading and spending time with her
family. She also enjoyed playing the piano, which she did at
the Wayne Baptist Church in McIntire until she was 87 years
old.
She is survived by seven
children, Robert (Sharon) Stuckey of Lanesboro, Minnesota,
Roberta (William) Dunn of Waterloo, Irvin (Linda) Stuckey of
Loves Park, Illinois, Gaylord (Naomi) Stuckey of Grand
Meadow, Minnesota, Gladys Ericksen of Wykoff, Minnesota,
Ardys (David) Duryee of Ackley and Grace (Steven) Farmer of
Charles City; 21 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and
a sister-in-law, Rose Peterson of Commerce City, Colorado.
She was preceded in death
by her parents; her husband, Avery on April 15, 1982; a
daughter, Martha Berentsen; a son, Terry in infancy; an
infant granddaughter, Stephanie Jo Farmer; a son-in-law,
Russel Ericksen; a daughter-in-law, Dorothy Stuckey; three
brothers; and two sisters.

Leona E. Horgen
June 8, 2009
Leona E. Horgen, died on Wednesday, June 3, 2009, at the
Good Samaritan Center in St. Ansgar. She was 94.
The Rev. Byron Northwick
presided over the funeral services held at 10:30 a.m., on
Saturday, June 6, at the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran
Church, St. Ansgar, with burial in the Immanuel Lutheran
Cemetery.
Leona Emelia Erdman, the
only child of Otto and Elsie (Haupt) Erdman of rural St.
Ansgar, was born on January 16, 1915. She was baptized by
the Rev. Wm. Reinecks on February 12, 1915, at the St.
John's Lutheran Church east of Grafton, and confirmed on
April 1, 1928, by the Rev. Paul Brammer. Leona and Kenneth
Edwin Horgen of Osage were married on December 26, 1941, by
the Rev. Paul Brammer in the church parsonage. They had
eight children.
Leona drew her strength
from the love of family, her children, grandchildren,
great-grandchildren and her many friends. In her garden,
among the flowers, Leona found peace and a sustaining faith
that carried her through life with courage and grace.
She is survived by
daughters, Karen Jaspers and husband, Keith of Springfield,
Missouri, Janice Vervaecke and husband, Edward of St. Ansgar
and Sherlyn Horgen of St. Ansgar and fiancée, David Klatt of
Mason City; sons, Russell Horgen of Grafton and friend,
Janice Ask of Northwood, Keith Horgen and wife, Jan of St.
Ansgar and Darwin Horgen and friend, Julie Wiede of Grafton.
Leona's legacy lives through her 19 grandchildren and 37
great-grandchildren. Each, in their own special way, brought
her laughter and joy.
She was preceded in death
by her husband, Kenneth; daughters, Dorothy Navratil and
Norma Horgen; and her parents.

Donald C. Adams
June 8, 2009
Donald C. Adams, age 76, of Osage, died on Friday, June 5,
2009, at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center Hospice
Unit in Osage.
A Mass of Christian Burial
was held at 10:30 a.m., on Tuesday, June 9, at the Sacred
Heart Catholic Church in Osage, with Rev. John Moser
officiating. Burial was in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in
Osage, with Military Honors conducted by the Osage V.F.W.
Post 7920 and the Osage American Legion Post 278.
Donald was born on June
14, 1932 in Stacyville, the son of Reinhart and Margaret (Hemann)
Adams. Donald served in the U.S. Army during the Korean
Conflict. On September 17, 1955, Donald was united in
marriage to Darlene Anderson at Stacyville. He farmed with
his brother, "Pickle" and worked for White Farm for 43
years. In his retirement, he helped his son at Adams
Plumbing and Heating.
Donald was a member of the
Osage V.F.W. Post 7920, the Osage American Legion Post 278
and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed bowling, hunting,
fishing, gardening and wood working.
Donald is survived by his
wife, Darlene Adams of Osage; three sons, Brian (Jan) Adams
of Osage and their children, Roxanne (Rick) Peoples and
their children, Karleena and Eric, Kristi (Doug) Feldmann
and their children, Liberty and Vinton, Jason (Stacey) Adams
and their children, Isabella and Lily, Chad (Jen) Adams
Marty Adams and his fiancée, Karla Hutchins of New Born,
Georgia and his children, Jamie and Nicole Adams, Terry
(Tonya) Adams of Osage and their children, Madison and Cole
Adams; two sisters, Ruth Mayer of Stacyville and Beverly "Dudy"
Weber of Stacyville; three brothers, Marv (Bev) Adams of
Stacyville, Dean (Veronica) Adams of Stacyville and Glen
"Pickle" (Irma) Adams of Osage.
He was preceded in death
by his parents; and a son, Scott.

George Thomas "Tom"
Mooney
June 8, 2009
George Thomas "Tom" Mooney, 96, of Northwood, died on
Friday, June 5, 2009, at the Lutheran Retirement Home in
Northwood.
Funeral services will be
held at 2:00 p.m., on Wednesday, June 10, at the Northwood
United Methodist Church, Northwood, with Reverend Wendi
Gillan officiating. Burial will be in the Stateline
Cemetery, rural Northwood, with military graveside honors
conducted by members of the Our Buddies VFW Memorial Post
#6779 of Northwood. Visitation will be held from 5-7:00
p.m., on Tuesday, at the Conner Colonial Chapel, Northwood.
Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the service
time on Wednesday at the church.
The family of Tom Mooney
has requested that those wishing to give a memorial in Tom's
memory may direct them to the Northwood United Methodist
Church, Our Buddies VFW Memorial Post #6779 of Northwood and
to the Salvation Army.
George Thomas Mooney, was
born on August 22, 1912 at Waynesville, Missouri, the son of
Thomas Christopher and Lela (Shelton) Mooney. He attended
school in Waukee, Iowa, graduating from the Waukee High
School. After completing his schooling, Tom worked on the
Alaskan Highway until his induction into the United States
Marine Corps on April 1, 1944 at Des Moines. Tom served his
country honorably in the Marine Corps. in the Northern
Solomons and the Asiatic-Pacific area during World War II,
until his honorable discharge on December 29, 1945, in San
Diego, California. After his discharge, Tom lived in Des
Moines and worked as a delivery route driver for Montgomery
Wards and also painted homes in Des Moines and in Texas
during the winter. Tom moved to Northwood in 1954, and
farmed around the Stateline area in Worth County and
Freeborn County. Tom also owned and operated Mooney's
Painting Company in Northwood and was painting homes and
farm buildings into his late 80's.
He enjoyed reading, his
vegetable garden, continuing to collect National Geographic
Magazines that his father started, driving his 1969 Grand
Prix in the 4th of July parade in Northwood, driving his
Allis-Chalmers tractor, snowmobiling in his earlier years,
avid Twins baseball fan, always enjoyed doing something and
never resting, playing cards, sweet corn feeds and was very
giving of himself. He was a member of the Northwood United
Methodist Church, Our Buddies VFW Memorial Post #6779 of
Northwood, American Legion Post of Northwood, National
Geographic Society and was a Salvation Army supporter.
Those left to cherish his
memory are his children, Joseph Mooney and Sharon (Dean)
Krafka of Northwood; two grandchildren, Michelle (Mike)
Skellenger and Ranae (Jonathan) Thompson, all of Northwood;
four great-grandchildren, Ryan Beenken, Grace Skellenger,
Camden Thompson and Tyce Skellenger; a sister, Alice Conrad
of Arlington, Virginia; a brother, A. Russell (Betty) Mooney
of Greensboro, North Carolina; as well as other extended
family members and friends.
Tom was preceded in death
by his parents; and a sister, Lorraine Collins.

Nellie Lunde
June 8, 2009
MASON CITY-Nellie V. Lunde, age 88, of Mason City, died on
Saturday, June 6, 2009, at the Good Shepherd Health Center
in Mason City.
Memorial services will be
held at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, June 10, at the St. James
Lutheran Church, with the Pastor Jeni Bohls officiating.
Inurnment will be in the Rock Creek Lutheran Cemetery in
rural Osage. A gathering of friends and family will be held
one hour prior to the services at the church.
Nellie V. Lunde, was born
on October 17, 1920 in Plymouth, Iowa, the daughter of S.L.
"Roy" and Adah (Kruse) Seeley. After graduating from the
Plymouth High School in 1938, she attended the Hamilton
School of Business College. She worked a short time at 1st
National Bank and Standard Oil Co. Nellie was married on
November 29, 1942 to Herbert Lunde in Plymouth. After
marriage she moved to the farm where she raised her family
and helped Herbert on the farm for fifty years.
She was an active member
of the Rock Creek Lutheran Church, where she was baptized
and confirmed and a member for over forty seven years. After
moving to Mason City in 1992 she joined the St. James
Lutheran Church in 1996.
Nellie loved music in her
life. She accompanied the cherub choir for twenty years,
choirs, trios and soloists. She was a member of the Martha
Circle and WELCA. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles and
took part in social activities and loved to sing and had a
wonderful sense of humor. She also enjoyed visiting with her
friends at the Shalom II Towers.
She was survived by her
sons, Carroll Lunde of Fort Madison, Harlan Lunde and wife,
Diane of Maribel, Wisconsin, Gary Lunde of Mason City, John
Lunde and wife, Sally of Mason City and David Lunde of Mason
City; five grandchildren, Miles Lunde and wife, Jade, Sean
Lunde, Aric Lunde, Sonja Lunde and Dawn Lunde; and three
great-grandchildren, Alexandra, Ariana and Ian Chavez.
Nellie was preceded in
death by her parents; husband, Herbert; son, Roger; sister,
Alice Tennihill; brothers, Donald and George; and niece,
Wanda Seeley.

Florentine Moody
June 8, 2009
Florentine Moody, age 98, of Osage, died on Saturday, June
6, 2009, at the Faith Lutheran Home in Osage.
Funeral services will be
held at 2:00 p.m., on Wednesday, June 10, at the Our
Savior's Lutheran Church in Osage, with Rev. Dennis Hanson
and Rev. Roy Ott officiating. Burial will be in the Osage
Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1-2:00 p.m., on
Wednesday, at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may
be directed to Faith Assisted Living, Iowa Hospice or to the
Faith Lutheran Home.
Florentine was born to
Iver and Lydia (Schulte) Tidemanson on August 25, 1910, at
Mitchell, Iowa. She attended the Mitchell Consolidated
School for eleven years, graduating from the Osage High
School in 1928. Florentine attended Coe College in Cedar
Rapids for two years, transferring to Iowa State University
and graduating in 1932 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in
Home Economics Education. She was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha
National Social Sorority. Florentine was united in marriage
to Robert G. Moody on June 5, 1934. To this union was born a
daughter, LaVonne and a son, James.
She was a fifty year
member of the Order of the Eastern Star, serving as Worthy
Matron four different times. She was also a District
Instructor for five years and was a state officer as Grand
Martha. She was on the Barthel O.E.S. Home Board, Decorah,
Iowa, for five years and served as President. Florentine was
active in the Methodist Church, was chairman of her circle
and took part in other activities. In her later years, she
attended the Our Savior's Lutheran Church. Florentine was
also active in the Republican Party. She enjoyed playing
bridge and working in her flower garden.
Survivors include one
daughter, LaVonne (Sam Horne) Bunch of Indialantic, Florida;
one son, James (Dorothy) Moody of Osage; four grandsons,
Thomas (Ruth) Bunch of Tucson, Arizona, John Bunch of Grand
Junction, Colorado, Michael (Nancy) Moody of Louisville,
Kentucky and Timothy (Lin) Moody of San Diego, California;
three granddaughters, Sherry (John) Rice of West Melbourne,
Florida, Shelly (James) Larson of Minneapolis, Minnesota and
Jennifer (Joseph) Dye of Louisville, Kentucky; 15
great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death
were her parents; her husband, Robert Moody in 1990; a
brother, Jack Tidemanson; and a sister-in-law, Zella Boggess.

David Huseby
June 9, 2009
David Huseby, 54, of Key West, Florida, formerly of DeWitt,
Iowa, died on Sunday, June 7, 2009, after a lengthy illness.
There are no services. The
body was cremated with burial at a later date.
David was born on July 28,
1954 in Soat Lake, Washington. He was raised by Ray and Coke
Huseby, growing up in the Osage, Iowa area.
Those left to celebrate
his life are his parents, Ray and Coke Huseby of DeWitt,
Iowa; a sister, Laurie (Todd) Willey; three brothers, John
Huseby of Hardy, Iowa, Ken (Char) Huseby of Superior,
Wisconsin and Don (Patti) Huseby of Dallas, Iowa; a niece
and two nephews; and a very special friend, Caroline Fite of
Key West, Florida.

Cathleen Ann
Johanns
June 23, 2009
Cathleen Anne Johanns, 60,
of Cedar Rapids, died on Tuesday, June 16, 2009, at the
Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids.
A Funeral Mass was held on
Saturday, June 20, at the St. Ludmila's Catholic Church in
Cedar Rapids. Burial was in the Osage Cemetery. Memorials
may be directed to the Madge Phillips Center, Cedar Rapids,
Iowa, in Cathleen's memory.
Cathleen was born on
January 19, 1949, the daughter of Benjamin and Eileen
(Donovan) Flack in Osage, Iowa. On May 27, 1967, she married
Leo Johanns at the Sacred Heart Church in Osage. Cathleen
worked as a customer service representative for twenty-five
years.
Cathleen was a member of
the St. Ludmila's Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. She
enjoyed her grandchildren, cooking, knitting, prayer groups,
and having margaritas with her friends.
Survivors include her
husband, Leo of Cedar Rapids; four children, Stephen (Tina)
Johanns of Naperville, Illinois, Julie (Mike) Cassidy of
Prior Lake, Minnesota, Aaron (Mariah) Johanns of Iowa City
and Elizabeth (Ontario) Whiteside of Dubuque; nine
grandchildren, Benjamin Patrick Johanns, Lauren Annette
Johanns, Kate Renee Johanns, Grace Cathleen Cassidy, Patrick
Michael Cassidy, Airiana Elizabeth Whiteside, Izaiah Joseph
Whiteside, Demi Christina Johanns and Lanie Marie Johanns;
and four brothers, Gary, Fred, Elon and Mike Flack.
She was preceded in death
by her parents.

Andrew A. Schwab
June 30, 2009
SALEM, New Hampshire-Andrew A. Schwab, 69, of Salem, New
Hampshire and longtime former resident of North Andover,
Massachusetts, died of respiratory failure on Tuesday, June
16, 2009, at the Holy Family Hospital in Methuen,
Massachusetts, just three days before his 70th birthday.
A funeral Mass was
celebrated on Friday, June 19, at the Sacred Hearts Church
in Haverhill, Massachusetts. Burial was in the Ridgewood
Cemetery in North Andover. Memorial contributions may be
made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Division of
Development and the Jimmy Fund, Brookline, Massachusetts.
The Conte Funeral Home, North Andover, Massachusetts, was in
charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Schwab graduated from
the University of Notre Dame in 1962 with a Bachelor's
Degree in Nuclear Engineering and later earned a Master's
Degree in Business. In 1985, he founded the Curran
Construction Company with his sons.
He was an avid golfer, a
Boston sports fanatic and loved to read from his extensive
library of over 1,000 books. He was also active in the
Sacred Hearts Church in Haverhill, serving as a former
lector and eucharistic minister, as well as a contributor to
St. Vincent De Paul. Most of all Mr. Schwab loved spending
time with his children and eight grandchildren.
He is survived by his
mother, Leona Rogers of Osage, Iowa; a brother, Tom Schwab
and his wife, Marcia of Nora Springs, Iowa; children, Sue
Schwab of Salem, New Hampshire, Steven Schwab and his wife,
Karen of Pelham, New Hampshire, Michael Schwab and his wife,
Cindy of Salem, New Hampshire and Melissa Rwambuya and her
husband, Alan of New Canaan, Connecticut; and grandchildren,
Christopher, Nicolette, Brian, Luke, Jillian, Olivia, Abbey
and Sophia.
He was preceded in death
by his father, Andrew J. Schwab; his sister, Shirley DeVore;
and his brother, Charles "Chuck".

Evelyn E. Schnepper

Evelyn E. Schnepper, age
75, of Riceville, died on Sunday, June 21, 2009, at the
Regional Health Services of Howard County Hospital in
Cresco, Iowa.
Funeral services will be
held at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, June 24, at the St.
Peter's Lutheran Church in Riceville, with burial in the
church cemetery south of Riceville. Visitation will be held
from 5-7:00 p.m., on Tuesday, June 23, at the Conway Funeral
Home in Riceville and one hour prior to the services on
Wednesday at the church.
Evelyn Elaine Schnepper,
was born on December 29, 1933, the daughter of Milton and
Francis (Koschmeder) Trout. She attended the Osage Schools
until 10th grade and later earned her GED. She worked many
years as an Aggregate Technician for Martin Marietta
Company. On July 19, 1950, she was united in marriage to
Robert Schnepper at the St. Peter's Lutheran Church in
Riceville. Evelyn enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles
and bird watching. She especially enjoyed spending time with
her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her
husband, Robert of Riceville; two children, Sandra Loftin of
Chaska, Minnesota and Randy (Barbara) Schnepper of
Rosemount, Minnesota; five grandchildren, Michael (Leanne)
Lifka, Dawn Krones (fiancée, Jim Adams), Kenneth Lifka, Erin
Schnepper and Richard Schnepper; seven great-grandchildren,
Conner Lifka, Caitlin Hanson, Jessica Hanson, Mackenzie
Krones, Tara Adams, Alexis Adams and Tristan Clapp; and one
sister-in-law, Jackie Trout of Osage.
She was preceded in death
by her parents, Milton and Francis Trout; brother, Milton
Eugene Trout; daughter, Merry Eckmann; son in-law, Steven
Eckmann; and grandson, Brandon Eckmann.

Lynn Krahenbuhl

Lynn Frederick Krahenbuhl,
age 69, of New Haven, died on Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at the
Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage.
Lynn was born on July 2,
1939 in Osage, the son of Roscoe F. and Mary Ann (Michels)
Krahenbuhl.
Memorial services were
held at 1:30 p.m., on Saturday, June 27, at the Champion
Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage, with Rev. Roy Ott
officiating. Funeral arrangements were made by the
Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home, Osage.
