Eugene David Moen

Eugene "Gene" David Moen, 71, of Nora Springs, died on
Wednesday, April 2, 2008, at the Muse-Norris Hospice
Inpatient Unit in Mason City.
Funeral services were held
at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, April 5, at the Sheckler Colonial
Chapel in Nora Springs. Burial was in the Rock Grove
Cemetery in Nora Springs.
Gene was born on June 21,
1936 at Osage, the son of Lloyd and Mollie Moen. Gene
graduated from the St. Ansgar High School in 1955.
Gene loved cars, especially his newly acquired 1950 Ford
chopped top. He also had a wonderful sense of humor, and
loved to make others laugh with his jokes.
Gene is survived by one
son, Scott (Staci) Moen of Austin, Minnesota; three
daughters, Kathy (Mike) Stowe of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma,
Donna Moen of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Christy Moen of
Pawnee, Kansas; four stepdaughters, Brenda Dilbeck, Kelly
(Dean) Miller, Vickie (Bill) Norby and Michelle (Keith)
Warner; one stepson, Rickie (Sandy) Bly; fifteen
grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Ron
(Bette) Moen of Clarkston, Michigan; and many other
relatives and friends
He was preceded in death
by one brother, Roger; his parents, Lloyd & Mollie; his
wife, Norma; and one stepson, Joseph Bly.
Funeral arrangements were
made by the Sheckler Colonial Chapel.

Vivian M. Mork
April 7, 2008
Vivian M. Mork, age 94, of New Haven, passed away on
Thursday, April 3, 2008, at her home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., on
Monday, April 7, at the St. Peter's Catholic Church in New
Haven, with Rev. Ray E. Atwood officiating. Burial will be
in the St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery in New Haven.
Visitation will be from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., on Sunday, at the
Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage, where there will be
a rosary at 5:00 p.m. and a scripture wake service at 6:00
p.m. Visitation will continue one hour before services at
the church.
Vivian was born in New
Haven, Iowa, to Julius and Nellie (Loftus) Brunner on July
20, 1913. She graduated from Mount Mercy in Cedar Rapids in
1932. In 1934, she married Robert E. Mork in New Haven. She
was a life long member of the St. Peter's Catholic Church in
New Haven. Vivian worked at various places over the years,
including St. Mary's School in New Haven, the Marr Knitting
Mill and Faith Home. She for many years was a parts runner
for her husband's garage service.
Vivian is survived by two
sons, Gary (Marilyn) Mork of Mitchell and Robert (Carolyn)
Mork of Osage; two daughters, Nadine Mork of New Haven and
Susan Schwab of Osage; 13 grandchildren; 30
great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and
numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding Vivian in death
were her parents; her husband, Robert in 1985; her brothers,
Vernon and Duane; and a daughter-in-law, Violet Mork.

Wilbur C. Biederman
April 7, 2008
Wilbur Clarence Biederman, age 87, passed away on Thursday,
April 3, 2008, at the Mitchell County Regional Health
Center-Hospice Unit, after a battle with cancer.
Memorial services were held at 10:00 a.m., on Tuesday, April
8, at the United Church of Christ in Osage, with Pastor Ruth
Moerdyk officiating. Inurnment was in the Oak Grove Cemetery
in Mitchell, with military honors at the grave by the Osage
V.F.W. Post 7920 and Grafton American Legion Post 616.
Wilbur was born on
September 29, 1920, on the family farm in Mitchell County,
the son of Clarence and Florence (Adams) Biederman. He was a
graduate of the Osage High School and Iowa State University.
Wilbur was a Pi Kappa Phi and kept a close friendship with
many of his fraternity brothers. He joined the navy before
graduating from Iowa State and became a 1st Class Petty
Officer. While stationed in Chicago, he met and married
Eleanor Klein on November 8, 1944.
After the war, they moved to Ames to complete his degree in
Animal Husbandry and moved to the family farm where he has
lived until his passing. Wilbur farmed from 1946 to 1984,
and was a very dedicated farmer, from the livestock to the
variety of crops he raised. He joined Archer Oil in 1953 and
was active in sales. He was an Amway dealer since 1964, and
also sold insurance and received his realtor licenses.
Wilbur was a member of the Osage V.F.W., Grafton American
Legion, and the Osage Masonic Lodge. He had a passion for
dancing, card playing, gardening, fishing and playing the
Sizzling 7's. Wilbur loved to drive everywhere. He was an
avid reader and lover of history. Wilbur showered us with
his canned and cooked goods.
Wilbur is survived by his
four children, Bruce Biederman of Osage, Ann (Marty) Perry
of South Port, North Carolina, Gary (Sue) Biederman of
Everly, Iowa and Gwen (Joe) Paulson of Osage; six
grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a sister, Marion
Spodnic of Bridgewater, Connecticut.
He was preceded in death
by his parents; his wife, Eleanor; his second wife, Shirley;
his brother, Robert; and a nephew, David.

Delores E. Suby
April 7, 2008
Delores E. Suby, 76, of Mason City, died on Thursday, April
3, 2008, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit.
Visitation was held from 3-5:00 p.m., on Sunday, April 6,
with a prayer service at 5:00 p.m., with Rev. Mark Lavrenz
of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church officiating. Inurnment will
be in the Brush Point Cemetery in Fertile, Iowa at a later
date.
Delores Elizabeth
Borchardt, was born on March 17, 1932 in rural Plymouth,
Iowa, the daughter of Alvin and Elizabeth (Schmidt)
Borchardt. She graduated from the Rock Falls High School in
1949. She worked for the Osage Knitting Mill as a Flat
Knitter for 5 years. She also did secretarial work for
various churches. On September 28, 1956 she married Boyd C.
Suby in Grafton, Iowa. In 1957 she moved to Fertile and
later moved to Mason City in 1986.
She was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church. She
enjoyed watching her grandchildren, crocheting, and
gardening flowers & vegetables. Delores was a resident of
the Heritage Care Center for the last several years.
She is survived by her
husband, Boyd; her children, Cindy Bidne and husband, Kevin
of Fertile, Jean Leraaen of Mason City and Joan Snyder and
husband, Jeff of Meservey, Iowa; two brothers, Galen
Borchardt and wife, Melba of Forest City and Glendon
Borchardt of Osage; five grandchildren, Katelyn, Tyler,
John, Adam, and Katie; and by many relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death
by her parents; and two daughters, Peggy Sue Suby and
Rochelle Suby.

James W. Lowder
April 10, 2008
James W. Lowder, age 46, of Osage, died on Wednesday, April
9, 2008, at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center
Emergency Room in Osage.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday,
April 12, at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage,
with Rev. Roy Ott officiating. Burial will be in the Osage
Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:30-7:00 p.m., on Friday
and continue one hour before the services at the
Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage.
James was born on June 30,
1961 at Fort Dodge, the son of William and Shirley (Schmidt)
Lowder. James enlisted in the United States Army and served
in the 82nd Airborne Division. Following the service he
worked construction, building bridges. James graduated from
NIACC and the University of Northern Iowa with a BA degree
in social work. He was employed at Prairie Ridge in Mason
City as a counselor.
He enjoyed camping, fishing, cooking and hanging out with
family and friends.
James is survived by two
sons, Jesse Lowder of Osage and Kody Lowder of Cedar Rapids;
his mother, Shirley Lowder of Osage; and aunts, uncles and
cousins.
He was preceded in death
by his father, William Lowder; his sister, Sally Lowder; and
his grandparents.
Funeral arrangements were

Schwenneker

Leona V. Schwenneker, 97,
of Burbank, California, died at her home on Wednesday, April
9, 2008.
She was born on February
25, 1911, in Charles City, Iowa, daughter of William and
Grace Patterson Bixby.
Leona was a beautiful,
warm, loving, compassionate and generous woman. She was
devoted to her family and friends and was happiest when
surrounded by those she loved.
Leona moved from Iowa to
Burbank, California, during World War II where, after the
war, she met Lynn Schwenneker, the love of her life. Leona
lived to the fullest every minute of her 97 years and her
light will continue to shine in our lives forever.
She is survived by her
husband, Lynn of Burbank; daughter-in-law, Eve Hunemiller of
Valley Center, California; grandson, Gregg Hunemiller and
his wife, Brenda of Upland, California; granddaughters,
Karen Ehlers and her husband, Roger of San Diego, California
and Karla Riley and her husband, Jeff of Alta Loma,
California; three great-grandchildren, Kasey Seldon and her
husband, Jason of Dayton, Nevada, Travis Riley of Alta Loma,
California and Breanna Riley of Tucson, Arizona; brother,
Carlyle A. Bixby of Waterloo; sisters, Laura Buchholz and
her husband, Roger of Cedar Falls and Wanda Anderson and her
husband, George Petersen of Cedar Falls.
Leona was preceded in
death by son, Robert Hunemiller: six brothers, William,
Leonard, Kenneth, Donald, Raymond and Clair; and two
sisters, Mildred L. Cook and Vesta M. Troyer.
Interment was in the Osage
Cemetery in Osage, Iowa.

Becki Small
April 15, 2008
Becki Small, age 43, of Osage, died on Thursday, April 10,
2008, at the Methodist Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m., on
Monday, April 14, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in
Osage, with Rev. John Moser officiating. Burial was in the
Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitation was from 3-8:00 p.m., on
Sunday, at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage, with
a rosary at 3:30 p.m. and a scripture wake service at 8:00
p.m.
In lieu of flowers,
memorials may be directed to the Becki Small Memorial Fund
for an educational fund for her children.
Becki
was born on May 18, 1964 at Osage, Iowa, the daughter of
Paul and Minerva (Voshell) Wagner. Becki graduated from the
Osage High School in 1982, and graduated from Brooks
Institute of Fashion and Art in Long Beach, California in
1984. On August 22, 1986, she married Bruce Small in Osage.
Becki worked in fashion merchandising in Des Moines. She
then worked at Stevenson's in Mason City, Charles City, and
Osage. She also worked at Wee Three and Bib-n-Tucker, both
in Osage. Becki was currently employed as a teacher's aide
at Osage Community Schools. She served as a mentor for the
Bridges Mentoring Program. Becki enjoyed all children, and
especially enjoyed spending time with her husband, children,
and family.
Becki
is survived by her husband, Bruce Small of Osage; two
daughters, Mallory Small, a student at the University of
Iowa, Sydney Small at home; son, Sawyer Small at home; her
parents, Paul and Minerva Wagner of Osage; three sisters,
Therese Wagner of River Falls, Wisconsin, Laura (Ron) Clark
of Eden Prairie, Minnesota and LeAnne Wagner of Rock Island,
Illinois.
She was preceded in death
by a brother, Michael Wagner in 1991; maternal grandparents,
Claude and Mary Voshell; and paternal grandparents, Earl and
Aterna Wagner.

George E. Black
April 15, 2008
Mason City-George E. Black, 78, of Mason City, died on
Monday, April 14, 2008, at his home.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 18, at 10:00
a.m., at the Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapel, Mason City,
with Rev. Jon M. Seda officiating. Visitation will be from
4-7:00 p.m., on Thursday, at the Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial
Chapel. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Memorial
Park Cemetery, Mason City.
George was born on June 6,
1929 in Stacyville, Iowa, the son of James Elmer and Bertha
(Myrtle) Black. He attended Hamilton's College of Business
before starting his own business, Black Plumbing and Heating
in Mason City, in 1972, where he still managed to work until
the time of his death. George married Dorothy (Clark) and to
this union 6 children were born. George and Becky (Henchal)
were married on September 13, 1986 in Gladstone, Missouri.
George was a very social
person, who loved coffee breaks at the roundtable with his
friends. He was a fan of stockcar racing, and loved to
garden. George was a collector of many things, and liked to
talk on the phone. His family was his passion, especially
his grandchildren, with whom he loved to spend time. A past
member of the North Iowa Fairground Board, George was also a
member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 405.
George is survived by his
wife, Becky of Mason City; four daughters, Marge Dannen and
her late husband, Pete of Mason City, Marlys (Don) Smelter
of Stewartville, Minnesota, Debra (Robert) Lugar of Mason
City and Bobbi (Bruce) Hollowell of Liberty, Missouri; two
sons, Terry (Jill) Black of Mason City and Mark Black and
his fiancée, Heather Gillard of Mason City; grandchildren,
Echo (Steve) Cash, Dara Dannen, Kaci Dannen, Jorden 'Bud'
Dannen, Lisa (Reiny) Yahnke, Sam Smelter and his fiancée,
Jessica, Molly (Jacob) Johnson, Cory Smelter, Dan Smelter,
Ryan Lugar, Alissa Lugar, Emily Lugar and her fiancée,
Travis, Taylor Lugar, Cody Black, Garrett Black, Mackenzie
Black, Brock Black, Courtney Black, Alexa Hollowell, Spencer
Hollowell and Carmen (Eric) Miller; eight great-

Marie M. Metzger
April 16, 2008
Marie M. (Behle) Metzger, of Osage, at age 87, joined her
Savior in Heaven on Tuesday, April 15, 2008, at the Faith
Lutheran Home in Osage.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Tuesday,
April 22, at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church, Osage, with The
Rev. R. Dawson Tornes officiating. Burial will be in the
Rock Creek Cemetery. Visitation is from 4-7:00 p.m., on
Monday, at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage, with
a public scripture service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will
continue one hour before the services at the church.
Marie Martha Behle, was
born twenty minutes before her twin sister, Maurine
Magdaline, on December 25, 1920, on the family farm six
miles east of Alden, Minnesota, twin daughters of Edward C.
and Rosetta A. (Steele) Behle. She was baptized on January
5, 1921, and after a year of full time confirmation classes,
she confirmed her faith on April 14, 1935, at the Concordia-Pickeral
Lake Lutheran Church, rural Albert Lea, Minnesota. Marie
graduated from the Alden High School in 1940. She continued
her education many years later at Hawkeye Tech in Waterloo,
and graduated in 1972 as an L.P.N.
Marie was united in marriage to Paul F. Metzger of
Wapakoneta, Ohio, on June 12, 1946, at the Concordia-Pickeral
Lake Lutheran Church. They served Lutheran congregations in
New London, Wisconsin, St. Paul and Hector, both in
Minnesota, and Greene and Meroa, both in Iowa. For the past
three years, Marie resided at the Faith Lutheran Home in
Osage. Marie has been an active member of the Rock Creek
Lutheran Church for 34 years and cherished this special
Christian family. She was a member of the Shakespearian Club
and Mitchell County Republicans. Marie was very proud of
every one of her five children and 13 grandchildren.
Marie is survived by her
children, Nancy Dulany of Pierre, South Dakota, Tim (Judith)
Metzger of Obermeitingen, Germany, Beth (Jim) Olsen of
Osage, The Rev. Daniel (Nancy) Metzger of Wichita, Kansas
and Paul (Sue) Metzger of McKinney, Texas; her
grandchildren, Matt and Alyssa Dulany, Tashiana, Breanna,
and Caitlyn Metzger, Jake (Liz) Olsen, Sarah (Adam) Miller,
Meg Olsen and Alex Olsen, Anastasia, Luke, and Hannah
Metzger, Katie Metzger; her twin sister, Maurine Levisen of
Albert Lea, Minnesota; a sister-in-law, Treva Metzger of St.
Marys, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.
Marie leaves to join her
parents; her husband, Paul; a brother, Harold Behle;
brothers-in-law, Earl Levisen, Kenneth Metzger and John
Morris; and sisters-in-law, Lauretta Morris and Lavon Behle.

Patricia Jo (Koster) Somdahl, 59, died on Monday, April 21,
2008, at the Phoenix Baptist Hospital.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, May 23, at 3:00
p.m., at the First Lutheran Church in St. Ansgar, with
Pastor Dennis Hanson officiating.
Pat was born on October 2,
1948 in Mason City, daughter of the late Delmer Koster and
Irene (Nicholson) Koster. She graduated from the St. Ansgar
High School in 1966.
Survivors include her
husband, Will: her mother, Irene Koster of Osage; sisters,
Pamela Fossey and Peggy Funk; brother-in-law, Tracy Funk;
four nieces; a nephew; and a dear friend, Paulette Mears.

Shirley Nell Sattre Kark,
83, of Osage, Iowa & Ft. Myers, Florida, passed away on
Wednesday, April 23, 2008.
All family and friends are invited to a memorial service and
reception on Saturday, June 21, 2008, at 2:00 p.m., at the
Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Osage, Iowa.
Shirley was born in Fergus
Falls, Minnesota and lived her life in Evansville and Blue
Earth, Minnesota and in Osage, Iowa. She attended St. Olaf
College. She was a woman of uncommon kindness and grace, who
will be very much missed by her family and many friends
whose lives she touched.
She is survived by her
husband of 63 years, Arthur Kark of Osage and Ft Myers,
Florida; her sons, Richard Kark of Madison, Wisconsin and
Kenneth (Cindy) Kark of Tucson, Arizona; and her daughter,
Sylvia Kark of Eden Prairie, Minnesota; four grandchildren,
Julia and Colin Callander and Chris and Sarah Kark; two
sisters, Vi Anne Christensen and Marian (Donald) Kark; also
nieces, nephews, and brothers and sisters-in-law.

Frank J. Onken

Frank James Onken, age 80, of Rudd, died on Thursday, April
24, 2008, at the Mitchell County Regional Health
Center-Hospice Unit in Osage.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m., on Monday, April
28, at the Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Osage, with Rev.
Dennis Hanson and Rev. Roy Ott officiating. Burial was in
the Osage Cemetery.
Frank was born on June 11,
1927 in Orchard, the son of Enno and Jennie (Rademacher)
Onken and was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.
After high school, he served time in the army, being
stationed in Japan. On December 18, 1949, Frank was united
in marriage to Ruth Lundene. They farmed in the Rudd area
until his retirement.
Frank is survived by his
wife, Ruth of Rudd; and their children, Dianne (Ronald)
Casto of Mason City, Richard (Barbara) Onken of Rudd, Dwight
Onken of Osage and Barbara (Duane) Smith of Osage; five
grandchildren, Pamela (Joe) Rowe, Laura (Rodney) Arcenas,
Amy Smith, Melanie Onken and Scott Onken; three
great-grandchildren, Jade and Jaxson Arcenas and Adler Rowe;
two sisters, Jennie Adams of Osage and Donna Onken of Omaha,
Nebraska; and two brothers, Arthur Onken of Osage and James
(Jean) Onken of Osage.
Frank was preceded in
death by his parents; one son, Ronald; two sisters, Martha
and Dorothy; and six brothers, Walter, John, Edward, George,
Eno and Keith.

Dean D. Thompson
April 29, 2008
Dean Thompson, age 79, of Osage, passed away on Friday,
April 25, 2008, at the Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in
Mason City.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., on Tuesday, April
29, at the Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Osage, with Rev.
Dennis Hanson and Rev. Roy Ott officiating. Burial was in
the Osage Cemetery.
Dean was born on December
17, 1928, the son of Dale and Marion (Francis) Thompson in
Sexton, Iowa. He attended country school and graduated from
Rudd in 1946. He was united in marriage to Irene Mathiesen
on October 30, 1949 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in
Osage. They moved to the Little Cedar area where Dean farmed
for 20 years and later moved northwest of Osage. Dean was a
feed salesman and drove a senior citizen bus.
Dean and Irene loved to travel and fish up north. They
enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Irene Thompson of Osage; four
sons, Douglas Thompson of Osage, Darwin (Geri) Thompson of
St. Ansgar, Dennis (Ginger) Thompson of Osage and David
(Dana) Thompson of Osage; a daughter, Debra (Bob) Barclay of
Mitchell; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandson; and one
sister, Shirley Sletten of Osage.
He was preceded in death
by his parents; a brother and a sister.

Vergie M. Brones
April 29, 2008
Vergie M. Brones, 91, of St. Ansgar,
died on Friday, April 25, 2008, in St. Ansgar at the Good
Samaritan Center.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 30, at
11:00 a.m., at the United Methodist Church in St. Ansgar,
with Rev. Peter Chang officiating. Visitation will be prior
to the services at the church. Burial will be next to her
husband in the St. Ansgar Cemetery.
Vergil "Vergie" Mabel
Christensen, was born in Forest City, Iowa on November 26,
1916, one of eight children born to Herman and Bertha
Margaret (Lytzen) Christensen. Vergie met Stanley R. Brones,
also of Forest City and they were married on January 18,
1933. They recently celebrated their 75th Wedding
Anniversary.
Vergie
and Stan had one daughter, Jana who attended school in
Osage, and now lives in Arizona with her husband and family.
Vergie and Stan farmed the Brones farm near Forest City
until 1936. At that time they moved to the St. Ansgar area
and farmed until retirement in 1978 and moved into St.
Ansgar.
Vergie was on the ground floor when Amway products first
became available for the public and she rose to a high
position with the company's sales representatives before
retiring from the company around 1980. Before and after
retiring, they enjoyed traveling all over the United States
including Hawaii where their grandson and his family lived
for a couple of years. When their daughter, Jan and her
family moved to Arizona, they spent most winters in the Mesa
area until just recently.
Vergie
enjoyed family and friends, traveling, spending time and
entertaining at their cabin at Lake Lizzie near Pine River,
Minnesota and gardening. After retiring from farming, Stan
joined Vergie in gardening and canning. Even as recently as
last summer they put in a garden and canned Vergie's
favorite spice pickles and beet pickles.
Vergie
was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and Herman
Christensen; brothers, Gene and Lee; sisters, Phyllis,
Leatrice and Thelma; and most recently her beloved husband
of 75 years, Stan, passed away on February 21, 2008.
Surviving is her daughter,
Jan and husband, Morrie of Mesa, Arizona; grandson, Jeff and
wife, Shawn; and great-grandchildren, Cody and Deanna of
Camp Verde, Arizona; one brother, Orsen of Cincinnati, Ohio;
and one sister, Aldyce Chris McEnany of Mesa, Arizona.
She will be missed by
those who knew her, but always remembered by those who loved
her.

Angie Kruger

St. Ansgar--Angie (Halbach) Kruger, 46, of St. Ansgar, Iowa,
died on Wednesday April 30, 2008, at the St. Mary's
Hospital, Rochester, Minnesota, from complications of a
massive stoke. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, May
3, at the Visitation Catholic Church, Stacyville, with
Father Marvin Salz, Monsignor John Hemann and Father John
Moser officiating. Burial was in the Visitation Cemetery,
Stacyville.
Angela Kay Halbach, was
born in Osage, Iowa, on June 23, 1961, the daughter of
Jerome and Monica (Salz) Halbach. She attended the
Visitation Grade School, Stacyville and graduated from the
St. Ansgar High School in St. Ansgar. She completed a 2 year
mechanical drafting program at Hawkeye Institute of
Technology in Waterloo, Iowa.
Angie was married to Jon
Kruger of Grafton and they lived in St. Ansgar. She enjoyed
all of her co-workers at the various places she worked,
including the following area businesses; Acorn Park Golf
Course, Brower Drug, Stadheim Jewelers and most recently as
a quality assurance tech for Malt-O-Meal for 10 years. She
was involved in numerous activities including backyard
campfires, remodeling her home, and serving on the board for
the Riverside Figure Skating Club. She actively participated
in the annual Relay for Life events.
Angie loved her family very much and always put others needs
in front of her own. She will be remembered for all she
gave, her contagious smile, her ability to light up a room,
and how she treated everyone with dignity and respect.
Angie's daughter Stacey was always a priority and they
shared an extremely strong relationship. Angie recently
became engaged to be married to Phil Streit of Stacyville.
On April 6, 2008, Angie
suffered a massive stroke and was taken to St Mary's
Hospital in Rochester. She spent 2 weeks in the intensive
care unit where she was taken care of by an excellent
hospital staff. Angie moved out of ICU to a new room for 10
days before going home to heaven. During her time at the
hospital she was always surrounded by family and friends.
Angie was preceded in
death by her father, Jerome; brother, Kenny; and
sister-in-law, Therese.
Angie is survived by her
daughter, Stacey of St. Ansgar; her mother, Monica Halbach
of Stacyville; her fiancée, Phil Streit of Stacyville;
brothers, Ed Halbach and wife, Barb of Clear Lake, Joe
Halbach and wife, Deb of Coon Rapids, Minnesota and Mark
Halbach and wife, Teresa of Glenville, Minnesota; sisters,
Jeanne Traaseth and husband, Pete of Brooklyn Park,
Minnesota, Paula Halbach and Dave Darr of Minneapolis
Minnesota; nieces, Danielle, Jacky and Marisa Halbach and
Leah Traaseth.
Funeral arrangements were
made by the Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home.
