Patrick O’Neil

Patrick Leo O'Neil, 17, of Manly, was received
into the loving arms of his Savior on Saturday, December 2,
2006.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Friday,
December 8, at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Manly, with
Reverend Linda Johnson Prestholt officiating. Burial will be
in the Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery in Mason City, with an
Honor Guard by the Mason City Fire Department. Visitation
will be from 4-8:00 p.m., on Thursday, at the Bride Colonial
Chapel, Manly. Visitation will be continued for one hour
prior to service time on Friday at the church.
Patrick Leo O'Neil was born on May 2, 1989 in Mason City,
the son of Steve and Susan (Severson) O'Neil. He was
baptized and reaffirmed the faith of his baptism through
confirmation in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in
Manly. Patrick was a junior at the North Central High School
in Manly. Patrick also helped his uncle, Steve on
construction projects in the north Iowa area, and also was
in the cadet program with the Manly Volunteer Fire
Department.
Patrick loved being on the fire department in Manly,
hunting, fishing, the outdoors, camping, tubing down the
Shell Rock river near Rock Falls, gun shows, golfing,
bonfires with his friends, and country music, especially
Montgomery Gentry and Trace Adkins, but he especially loved
being around his family and friends.
He was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Manly,
and the Community Emergency Response Team in Cerro Gordo and
Franklin County.
Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Steve and Susan
O'Neil of Manly; his sister, Hannah O'Neil of Manly;
paternal grandmother, Barbara O'Neil of Mason City; his
maternal grandparents, Richard and Karen Severson of Manly;
his maternal great-grandmother, Hazel Reyerson of Albert
Lea, Minnesota; special aunts and uncles, Donna Ryan, Jean
O'Neil, Cindy (Steve) Palmer, Debbie (Charles) Mejia, Sherri
(Steve) Hutzel, Randy (Tammy) Severson and Lori (Rudy)
Guillen; special cousins, Amanda, Traci, Jade, Jason, Sarah,
Amanda, Matthew, Amy, Tara, Laura, Erin, Bradley, Shelby,
Cody and Dustin. Also left to cherish his memory are
countless friends.
Patrick was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather,
Don W. O'Neil.

Mildred Lee

Mildred Helena Lee, 88,
of Manly, died on Sunday, December 3, 2006, at the
Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City, surrounded
by her family.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m., on Wednesday,
December 6, at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Manly, with
Reverend Linda Johnson Prestholt officiating. Burial was in
the Brush Point Cemetery, rural Hanlontown. Visitation was
held from 5-7:00 p.m., on Tuesday, at the Bride Colonial
Chapel, Manly. Visitation was also continued one hour prior
to service time on Wednesday at the church.
The family of Mildred Helena Lee has requested that memorial
contributions be made to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in
Manly, or to the Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason
City in her memory.
Mildred Helena Lee, was born on January 13, 1918 in rural
Manly, the daughter of Carl and Anna (Wemken) Dietrich. She
was baptized and reaffirmed the faith of her baptism through
confirmation at the English Lutheran Church in Manly. She
attended and received her education in the Manly Community
School system, and received her GED from N.I.A.C.C. in Mason
City.
She was united in marriage to Raymond Lee on June 20, 1935,
at the English Lutheran Church in Manly. Mildred and Raymond
farmed for many years north west of Manly, and she helped
her husband with the bookwork when he worked for the Worth
County COOP in Manly. Mildred also did custom cakes and made
draperies for many families in the north Iowa area.
She enjoyed flowers, gardening, birds, butterflies, going
fishing and camping, sewing, dancing, and wintering in Texas
with her husband. Mildred was very active in the Bethlehem
Lutheran Church in Manly, but her great love and enjoyment
was her family and all her grandchildren.
She was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Martha
Circle, and the Alter Guild in Manly.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 71 years,
Raymond Lee of Manly; five children, Marlyn (Faye) Lee of
Clear Lake, Gerald (Merle) Lee of Commerce City, Colorado,
Carlton (Dianne) Lee of Mason City, Sharron (David) Petznick
of Northwood and Gloria (Scott) Helling of Ames; 10
grandchildren, Marti Kindrick, Matthew Lee, Mary Wallis,
Michael Lee, Dawnya Lee, Allan Lee, Holly Duncomb, Kevin
Petznick, Erik Helling and Ashlee Helling; 21
great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; a sister,
Edna Dahl; brothers, Leonard (Lila) Dietrich of Manly and
Glen (Dorothy) Dietrich of Clear Lake; sisters-in-law,
Clarice Dietrich of Kensett and Marcella Lee of Clear Lake;
and many nieces and nephews, other relatives and many
friends.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; two sons,
Richard and Larry Lee; brother, Wayne Dietrich;
sister-in-law, Evelyn Dietrich; and a brother-in-law, Philip
Dahl.
