Kelmer
"Kelly" Sorenson, 96, died on Tuesday, March 1, 2005, at the Muse-Norris Hospice of
North Iowa, Mason City.
Funeral services were held on Friday, March 4, at the Grace
Lutheran Church in Hanlontown, with Rev. Linda Johnson-Prestholt and the Rev.
Kris Snyder officiating. Interment was in the Brush Point Cemetery in rural
Hanlontown, with the Ward Van Slyke Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Kelly was born on August 3, 1908, at the family home in rural
Hanlontown, the son of Austin and Alice (Brattrud) Sorenson. He lived his entire
life in the house in which he was born. He was united in marriage with Evelyn
Gooden on August 14, 1937 in Kensett. Kelly farmed his entire life.
He enjoyed
fixing up old machinery and sharing stories from his past. He was baptized,
confirmed and remained a life-long member of the Grace Lutheran Church.
Kelmer is survived by his children, Deloris Downs and husband,
Dan of Lake Havasu City, Arizona and Lynn Sorenson and his wife, Cindy of rural
Hanlontown; five grandchildren, Stacey Lunsford and her husband, Victor of
Whitewater, Wisconsin, Joel Lemmerman and his wife, Leah of North Branch, Minnesota, Jamie
Sorenson and his wife, Angie of Hanlontown, Michelle Gobrecht and her husband,
Duane of St. Paul Park, Minnesota and Christina Sorenson of Decorah; and nine
great-grandchildren.
Kelmer was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn in 2001;
his parents; two brothers; two sisters; and one adopted sister.

Duane R. Thompson, 58

Duane R. Thompson, 58, of Memphis, Tennessee and formerly of
Scarville, died on Monday, March 7, 2005, at his home in Memphis.
Funeral services
were held on Friday, March 11, at the Bethel Lutheran Church, Vinje, with Rev. Chris
Fiske officiating. Burial was in the Bethel Lutheran Cemetery, with the Mittelstadt
Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Duane Raymond, the son of Alfred G. and Mildred (Olson)
Thompson, was born on June 10, 1946 at Forest City. He graduated from the Lake Mills
High School and went on to attend Mankato State University and Columbia
University. He joined the United States Army National Guard and served during
the Vietnam War. Duane had been a self employed audiologist at the Memphis
Hearing Aid Center in Memphis, Tennessee. He was recently retired and enjoyed
spending his time as a master gardener.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Ann (Sondheim) Thompson of
Memphis, Tennessee; mother, Mildred Thompson of Forest City; a sister, Jean Peterson
and her husband, Allen of Leland; brother, Jerry Thompson and his wife, Debbie
of Lebanon, Missouri; nieces and nephew, Nancy Buffington and her husband, Bruce
of Forest City, Tammy Callahan of Leland and David Peterson and his wife, Robin
of Leland; and five grand-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred in 1985; and
by two grand-nieces.

Doris Helin, 84, died
on Wednesday, March 9, 2005, in La Crosse,
Wisconsin.
A Memorial Mass was held on Saturday, at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church in
Buffalo Center, with Father Jerry Blake officiating. Inurnment was in the Graceland
Cemetery in Buffalo Center, with the Winter Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Doris Esther, the daughter of Lee Henry and Genevieve Mary
(McGovern) Olson, was born on May 23, 1920 at Bancroft. Doris attended country
schools in the Lakota area and graduated from the Ledyard High School in 1938. On
December 28, 1939, Doris was united in marriage with Marion Helin at the Sacred Heart
Catholic Church in Ledyard. The family made their home farming in the Thompson
and Buffalo Center areas.
Doris was a member of the St. Patrick's Catholic Church in
Buffalo Center, where she was active with the Altar Society. Doris and Marion
recently moved to La Crosse, Wisconsin to be closer to their family, when Doris
passed away unexpectedly at the home of her son, Kevin.
Survivors include her husband, Marion of Buffalo Center; a
daughter, Sandra (Helin) Snelling of Tomah, Wisconsin; four sons, Gerald Helin of
Austin, Minnesota, Dennis Helin of Forest City, Duane Helin of East Dubuque,
Illinois
and Kevin Helin of La Crosse, Wisconsin; 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; six
sisters, Lavonne Hohnecker of Dubuque, Agnes Thunstrom of St. Paul, Minnesota,
Florence Wortman of Medford, Oregon, Betty Shillington of Algona, Donna Herbers
of Medford, Oregon and Vicky Parks of Manly; three brothers, Richard Olson of
Lakota, Donald Olson of Buffalo Center and John Olson of Forest City.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Mary
Lee Kirby and Berniece Petticord; and two brothers, Melvin Olson and Eugene
Olson.

Garry A. Tesdahl, 55, of Winnebago, Minnesota, formerly of
Elmore, died on Thursday, March 10, 2005, at the Parker Oaks Retirement Community in
Winnebago, Minnesota.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, March 19, at
the
Shiloh Lutheran Church in Elmore, Minnesota, with Rev. Robert Roettger officiating.
Inurnment will take place at a later date in the Lakeside Cemetery in Fairmont,
Minnesota, with the Winter Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Visitation with the
family will be one hour prior to the services at the church on Saturday.
Garry Allen Tesdahl, was born on November 9, 1949 at Blue Earth,
Minnesota, to Clifford LeRoy and Margaret June (Burgess) Tesdahl. While their
children were younger, Clifford and Margaret moved to California, where Garry
attended grade school. Garry graduated from the Fairmont High School in Fairmont,
Minnesota. He went on to attend college at Mankato Business School in Mankato and
Waldorf College in Forest City. On July 2, 1976, Garry was united in marriage
with Gloria Larsen at the Grace Lutheran Church in Fairmont, Minnesota. To this union,
two children were born, Kay and Scott. Garry will be long remembered for being
the caretaker at Woods Lake near Elmore, where they made their home for a number
of years. He also worked as a city employee in Springfield, Minnesota, caring for
their Community Center.
In his free time, Garry enjoyed being a "professional
auction attendee." He loved the thrill of the auction and the fact that he often
picked up great bargains. Garry was a member of the Shiloh Lutheran Church in Elmore,
where he had been active on the church council. Garry and Gloria most recently
lived in Winnebago, where Garry was cared for by the staff of the United Hospice and
the community of people at Parker Oaks.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria of Winnebago; daughter,
Kay Tesdahl and her fiancée, Jim Sirovy of Forest City; son, Scott Tesdahl and his
friend, Kim of Seligman, Missouri; siblings, Clifford Tesdahl, Jr. and his wife,
Darlene of Lake Mills, Lauren Tesdahl and his wife, Judy of Fairmont, Minnesota,
Linda Miller and her husband, Allen of Mankato, Minnesota and Lonny Tesdahl and his
wife, Cara of Byron, Minnesota; uncles and aunts, Larry and Jean Burgess of
Shakopee, Minnesota, Marian Weiler of Winnebago, Minnesota, Carol Borchardt of Mankato,
Lillian and Don Roe of Hanska, Minnesota and Shirley Malcolm of Minneapolis, Minnesota;
as well as many nieces, nephews and numerous faithful friends, including his
sidekick, Mitsy Lou the dog.
Garry was preceded in death by his parents; a brother-in-law,
Jim Zilka; and a nephew, Lonny Tesdahl.

Ruth Heller Green, 85, of Mankato, Minnesota and Sarasota, Florida,
died on Thursday, March 10, 2005, at her winter home in Florida.
A memorial service will be
held at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, March 29, at the Christ the
King Lutheran Church in Mankato, Minnesota. Burial will be
in the Madison Township Cemetery in Forest City following
the services.
Ruth Heller, was born on January 24, 1920 at Pipestone, Minnesota,
to Frank and Clara Heller. Ruth worked as a telephone operator in Forest City.
She was married to Dick Green in Forest City and in the early 50s, they moved
to Mankato, Minnesota.
Ruth is survived by two daughters, Jeannette
(Jake) Adams of
St. Peter, Minnesota and Cheryl Waters of Hillsboro, Oregon; grandchildren, Bradley
Adams of St. Peter, Philip Adams and his wife and their children, Kevin and
Kelsey, Marty Garvin and his wife, Kelley and their daughter, Olivia; a
great-granddaughter, Morgan; brothers, Kenneth Heller of Forest City, Herb Heller
and Bernie Heller, both of Mankato; and nieces and nephews.

Edna L. Hill, 97, died
on Thursday, March 10, 2005, at the Good
Samaritan Center in Forest City.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 12, at the
First Baptist Church in Forest City, with Rev. Doug Snyder officiating. Burial
was in the Grant Center Cemetery in rural Clear Lake, with the Petersen Lund Funeral Home
in charge of the arrangements.
Edna L. Hill, was born on August 19, 1907, on a farm near
Fertile, the daughter of Martin and Christina (Erickson) Ouverson. Edna received
her education in Fertile and graduated from the Fertile High School in 1923. She was
united in marriage with Merle Hill in Des Moines, on July 14, 1927. The couple
farmed in the Fertile area for a number of years and then bought the Forest City
Auction Company in Forest City, where Edna was bookkeeper for many years.
She
enjoyed entertaining friends and family and was known for her wonderful pies.
She liked to golf and play bridge with her friends. Edna was a member of the
Congregational Church in Forest City and sang in the Choir. She enjoyed playing
the organ and for many years, on Sundays, she would play the piano at the Good
Samaritan Center, sharing her gift of music with the residents. She was a member
of PEO and was past president of the club. She loved to go fishing, taking many
fishing trips with Merle.
Edna is survived by her daughters, Joan Langerud and husband,
Ron and Susan Bartleson and husband, Tom; four grandsons, Mark Langerud and wife, JoLynn and girls, Taryn and McKinzie; Robert Langerud and wife, Julie and their
children, Samantha, Daniel and Ben; Anthony Bartleson and wife, Misty and their
children, Chelsea, Natessa and Miranda; Stephen Bartleson and his children, Mitch
and Paige.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son,
Richard; three brothers, Don, Leonard and Harold; and a sister, Irene.

Hazel M. Greiman, 90, died
on Friday, March 11, 2005, at the
Good Samaritan Center in Forest City.
Funeral services were held on Monday, March 14,
at the Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church in Garner, with the Rev. Darrell Weber
officiating. Music was provided by organist, Margaret Jass who accompanied
congregational hymns. Casket bearers were Celine Hartwig, Amy Peterson, Paul
Austin, Brad Muhm, Andrew Hartwig and Brad Peterson. Burial will be in the Concord
Township Cemetery, Garner. The Cataldo Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Hazel Mae, the daughter of Charles and Anna (Anderson) Hodson,
was born on November 18, 1914 at Earlham. Hazel attended the rural schools of
Hancock County. On December 11, 1937, she was married to Laurence Greiman at
Garner. They farmed in the Klemme and Garner areas. In 1951, they moved into
Klemme and a year later to Garner. In February of 2004, Hazel and Laurence became
residents of the Good Samaritan Center in Forest City.
Hazel enjoyed gardening,
canning and cooking. She was a member of the Zion Evangelical Church, Zion Women's
Fellowship, the Garner Senior Citizens and Grandmothers Club.
Hazel is survived by her husband, Laurence; her two children,
Bill (Liela) Greiman of Santa Rosa, California and Janice (Tim) Hartwig of Boone;
three grandchildren, Sonja (Brad) Muhm of Garner, Andrew (Celine) Hartwig of
Iowa City and Amy (Brad) Peterson of Ankeny; three great-grandchildren; and many
nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters,
Helen Gjerde, Lois Austin and Eva Anderson; and three brothers, Howard, Ralph
and Donald Hodson.

Rev. Perry R. Heller, 79, died
on Saturday, March 12, 2005, at the
Muse-Norris Hospice in Mason City.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday,
March 16, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Forest City, with Rev. Lee Laaveg
officiating. Burial will be in the Madison Township Cemetery in Forest City.
Visitation will be from 4-7:00 p.m., on Tuesday, March 15, at the Petersen Lund
Funeral Home and an hour prior to the services at the church.
Perry R. Heller, was born on August 6, 1925 in Fonda, the son of
Frank and Clara (Anenson) Heller. He was baptized and confirmed in the Bethany
Lutheran Church in Emmetsburg, by the Rev. M. C. Thompson. He graduated from the
Emmetsburg High School in the class of 1943. While in high school and college,
he was active in sports. He was a member of the track squad; played baseball and
was a member of the Lakes Conference Championship Football Team. Pastor Heller
received his Associate of Arts Degree from Waldorf College, Forest City, in
1948; his Education Degree from Luther College in Decorah; and his Divinity
Degree from Luther Theological Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota. He was ordained into
the Holy Ministry at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Forest City by Dr. V. T. Jordahl.
During his ministry, Pastor Heller held various offices in the church.
He served as chairman of the Board of Parish Education; chairman of Riverside
Bible Camp; Dean of the Des Moines Conference; Steering Committee; Youth
Committee, Pastoral Conference; Stewardship Committee; and a delegate to the
National ALC Convention. Pastor Heller served the Bethany-Zion Parish of
McCallsburg-Radcliffe for 20 years and the St. Peter Lutheran Parish in Rockwell
for 18 years. He retired in 1991 and moved to Forest City, where he was a member
of Immanuel Lutheran Church and the Lions Club.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Pastor Heller loved to visit and spend time with his friends and family, often
treating them to an evening out at a nice restaurant.
Pastor Heller is survived by his brothers, Kenneth Heller of
Garner and Herbert Heller and wife, Dorothy and Bernard Heller and wife, Marlys,
all of Mankato, Minnesota; 13 nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother;
and a sister, Ruth Green.

Martha Cook, 82

Martha M. Cook, 82 of Forest City, formerly of Mason City,
died on Thursday, March 17, 2005, at the Good Samaritan Center in Forest City.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, March 22, at the First Presbyterian Church
in Mason City, with Reverend Terry Hamilton-Poore officiating. Memorials may be directed to the Good Samaritan Center in
Forest City or the First Presbyterian Church in Mason City.
Martha, the daughter of Mamie DeMaris Cotton and Ray Elliot
Murray, was born on January 26, 1923 in Springfield, Missouri. Martha was raised in
Kansas City, Missouri. Her senior year of high school was spent in Des Moines where
she graduated from the Roosevelt High School. After graduation, Martha joined the
United States Navy in Chicago on May 13, 1943. She served as an airplane
mechanic until December 7, 1945. After her honorable discharge, Martha attended
Drake University in Des Moines as an art major and member of Kappa Kappa Gamma.
There she met Robert Homer Cook and they were united in marriage on May 28,
1947 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. To their union, two daughters were born, Mary Jo and Sue
Ann. The family left Milwaukee in 1961 when a business expansion brought them to
Mason City.
Martha was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mason
City for several years, worked with the community theater, volunteered at St.
Joseph Mercy Hospital and was involved with the Girl Scouts through her
daughters. She became a member of the First Presbyterian Church in the 1970's.
In the 1980's, she worked at Sperry Univac in Clear Lake. She also worked at The Side
Door Needle Arts Shop in Mason City. Martha then worked in the circulation
department of the Globe Gazette from the mid 1980's to the mid 1990's.
She moved
to the Forest Plaza Assisted Living in Forest City in 2003 to be near her daughter.
She later moved to the Good Samaritan Center. Martha enjoyed arts and crafts and
playing cards with her friends. She also loved animals, especially horses and
dogs. She loved the Lord and made dear friends each and every place she went in
life. She was thankful to the Lord for all of her blessings.
Martha is survived by two daughters, Mary Jo Cook and her
dear friend, Carol Markert of Brighton, Colorado and Sue and Lew Bruns of Forest
City; one sister, Sally Jennison of Palo Alto, California; two grandsons, Bob Kafer of
Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada and Joe Kafer of Forest City; and four
granddaughters, Amanda Kafer, Amy Kafer, Dee Bruns and Becky Bruns, all of
Forest City.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Ray
Elliot Murray Jr. and Thomas Cotton Murray; and one granddaughter, Kristen Marie Kafer.

Peterson, 84, of Crystal Lake, died on Wednesday, March 23, 2005, at the Hospice of
North Iowa in Mason City.
Funeral services were held on Monday, March 28, at the Crystal
Lake United Methodist Church, with Reverend Catherine Luck and Reverend Diane Goulson officiating. Pianist, Kristi Kirschbaum accompanied soloist, Bruce Wubben.
Casket bearers were Richard Peterson, Craig Binnebose, Daniel Peterson, Danny
Cunningham, Steve Boyken and Brian Hobbs. Ushers were LaVurne Josten and Roger
Leerar. Interment was in the Buffalo Township Cemetery, with the Ewing Dugger Funeral
Home in charge of the arrangements. Wilbur W. Peterson, the son of
Oley and Martha Overgaard Peterson, was born on April 28, 1920 in Elmore,
Minnesota and later was baptized in Radcliffe. At an early age, Wilbur moved with
his parents to a farm near Crystal Lake. He attended the Bingham Township Country
School #1 and later graduated from the Crystal Lake High School with the class of
1939. On February 20, 1946, Wilbur was united in marriage with Lula Eden at the
Methodist Church Parsonage in Belmond, Iowa. The couple established their home
on the same farm Wilbur was raised on northwest of Crystal Lake. While on the
farm, Wilbur sold Archer Oil products for over 39 years. He did custom oat
windrowing, raised seed beans, sold seed corn and fed out cattle on the farm. He
served on the board of directors for the Forest City Cooperative Elevator for a
number of years. In 1984, the couple moved into Crystal Lake.
Wilbur attended
the United Methodist Church in Crystal Lake, where he served in various
capacities. In recent years he was unable to attend services due to health
reasons. Wilbur enjoyed coffee time at the Senior Citizens Center, daily drives
in the country to feed the farm cats and look over the crops. He especially
enjoyed his annual Canadian fishing trips with family and friends.
Wilbur is survived by his son, Richard and wife, Carol of Garner
and their children,
Gina and Danny Cunningham and their children, Skylar and Eliza of Perry and
Daniel and Liz Peterson and daughter, Hailey Anne of Marion; his daughter, Janelle Binnebose and husband, Craig of Mason City; sisters-in-law, Annette Peterson of Canistota, South Dakota, Edna Eden of Britt and Florence Eden of Titonka; and several
nieces, nephews and other family members.
He was preceded in
death by his parents; wife, Lula on June 1, 1991; two brothers, Ernest and Roy;
one sister, Mildred Eden; and two siblings in infancy.

A. Geddes, 92, of Garner, died on Thursday, March 24, 2005, at the Hancock County
Memorial Hospital, Britt.
Funeral services were held on Monday, March 28, at the St.
Boniface Catholic Church in Garner, with Fr. Jerry Blake officiating. Lector was
Donna Young. Music was provided by organist, Carolyn Kumsher who accompanied the
church choir. Ushers were Robert Kral and Lawrence Engstler. Casket bearers were
her grandchildren. Burial was in the St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery, Garner, with
the
Cataldo Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Rose Ann, the
daughter of Michael Casper and Mayme Helen (Hrubes) Malek, was born on April 23,
1912 at Duncan. Rose attended school at Hayfield where she graduated from high
school in 1931. On April 17, 1933, she was married to Harold Emmett Geddes at
the
St. Boniface Catholic Church in Garner. The couple farmed in the Hayfield area
until 1941, then moved to Miller where they continued farming. In 1968, they
retired and moved into Garner.
Rose was a member of the St. Boniface Catholic Church
and Rosary Society. She is survived by her daughters, Sharon
Kay (Gorden) Anderson of Scarville, Sally Boomgarden of Britt and Kathy
(Ellsworth) Hanson of Garner; eight grandchildren, Diane (Bruce) Steele, Julie
(Kent) Swenson, Gorden, Jr. (Denise) Anderson, Geoffrey (Jodie) Anderson,
Annette (Brian) Larson, Jolene Kaliff, Sheila Graff and Todd Hanson; 10
great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a brother, Larry Malek of
Dodgeville, Wisconsin; a sister-in-law, Marjorie Malek of Lemont, Illinois; and many nieces,
nephews, friends and GG Club members. She was preceded in
death by her husband, Harold on December 18, 1978; daughter, Jane Ann Geddes in 2002;
her parents; a sister, Marie (Joe) Zrostlik; and three brothers, James (Ella),
Rudy (Marjorie) and Alfred (June) Malek.

G. Anderson, 81, of Lake Mills, died on Thursday, March 24, 2005, at the Lake Mills
Care Center in Lake Mills, Iowa.
A private family memorial service was held on
Monday, March 28, with inurnment in the Sunnyside Cemetery in Lake Mills, with
the Mittelstadt Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Norris
Glen Anderson, was born on March 13, 1924 at Neils Spur, the son of Lawrence and
Myrtle (Gullickson) Anderson. He attended country school. Norris was united in
marriage with Ilene Walkner at Albert Lea, Minnesota and the couple raised their
family and made their living farming for many years prior to moving into Lake
Mills in 1967. After moving to town, Norris owned and operated Anderson
Trucking, drove a gas delivery truck and drove the Senior Citizen Transit in
Lake Mills. His wife, Ilene passed away in December of 1997 and due to failing
health, Norris became a resident of the Lake Mills Care Center in 1999.
Norris is survived by three sons, Glenn Anderson and his wife, Glenda of Lake
Mills, Erbin Anderson and Sue Reyerson of Northwood and Robert Anderson and
his wife, Karil of Leland; three daughters, Noreen Heimdal and her husband, Gary
of Lake Mills, Diane Smith and her husband, Paul of Crystal Lake and Sheryl
Bell and her husband, Dan of Lake Mills; numerous grandchildren and
great-grandchildren; a sister, Una Gasteiger of Plymouth; two sisters-in-law,
Gayla Lien of Lake Mills and Della Olson and her husband, Hans of Albert Lea,
Minnesota; two brothers-in-law, Mike Walkner and his wife, Betty of Peoria, Arizona
and Erbin Walkner of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ilene; a brother; a grandson;
Ilene's parents; a sister-in-law; and three brothers-in-law.

Chapel in charge of the arrangements. Jonas Amos, was born
on May 16,
1931 in Winnebago County, the son of John and Sophia (Ness) Ullestad. Jonas
grew up in the Thompson area. He was baptized and confirmed in the Bethany
Lutheran Church, Thompson. He received his education in the Thompson Schools
and graduated from the Thompson High School. Jonas was a farmer for several years in
the Thompson area and then later worked for Fleetguard in Lake Mills. In 1956,
Jonas was united in marriage to Rosella Enderson at the Lake Mills United
Methodist Church.
Jonas was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church,
Manly and of the Eagles Lodge in Albert Lea, Minnesota. Jonas enjoyed farming,
fishing, being outdoors, photography, reading, drinking Mountain Dew, eating
chips and sweets, and spending time with his family. He especially took pride in
that all four of his daughters became nurses.
Left to cherish
his memory is his wife, Rosella Ullestad of Hanlontown; seven children, Adrian Ullestad
of Kiester, Minnesota, Karen (Richard) Vroman of Omaha, Nebraska, Kathy (Don) Kammrad
of Garner, Nancy (Kevin) Pierce of Lake Mills, Brian (Jennifer) Ullestad
of
Manly, Lois Bondy and her fiancée, Trace Lechnir of Phoenix, Arizona and Lynn (Cathy) Ullestad
of Leland; 12 grandchildren, Tory (Jenny) Reimann; CJ, Dan and Brandon Kammrad; Scott and Tony Flatness; Haley, Michael, Mathew and Amber Ullestad;
and Melissa Dirksen and Joshua Olson; and one great-grandchild, Tanner Reimann;
eight sisters, Martha Hamre of Erskine, Minnesota, Alice Johnson of Mankato, Minnesota,
Stella (Tom) Dahl of Elmore, Minnesota, Jennie Ullestad of Mankato, Minnesota, Judith (Don)
Richards of Mason City, Clara (Dale) Gettis of Mason City, Mavis (Rev. Dick)
Erickson of Brainard, Minnesota and Amy (Goodwin) Boyum of Kenyon, Minnesota; and one
brother-in-law, Roger Graber of Forest City.
He was preceded in
death by his parents; one brother; two sisters; two brothers-in-law; and a
nephew.

Felix
H. Schultz, 81, died on Sunday, March 27, 2005, at the Hospice of North Iowa in Mason
City.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Wednesday, March 30, at
the St. Wenceslaus
Catholic Church in Duncan, with Father Jerry Blake officiating. Lector was Anton Trca. Organist, Mary Kopacek accompanied soloist, Louise Zrostlik and the church
choir. Casket bearers were Jeff Schultz, Matt Schultz, Mike Schultz, Robert
Formanek, Jr., Tom Formanek and Dean Brooks. Ushers were Melvin Wellik and Leo
Wellik. Interment was in the St. John's Catholic Cemetery, Duncan, with the Ewing Dugger
Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Felix Hubert, the son of Gregory and Anna
Kulla Schultz, was born on October 30, 1923 in Wells, Minnesota. He attended
country schools in the Wells area and helped his dad on the family farm. He
served in the United States Army with the 6th Cavalry Reconnaissance Division in
Germany during WW II. On February 6, 1947, Felix was united in marriage with Jane
Nowak in Wells. The couple farmed in the Wells area until 1967, when they moved
to the Britt area. Felix was employed at Iowa Mold Tool in Garner for 20 years,
retiring in 1984.
Felix enjoyed spending time with his family and also enjoyed
woodworking, gardening and fishing. He was a member of the St. Wenceslaus Catholic
Church in Duncan and the Knight's of Columbus.
Felix is survived by daughter, Judy Deetz
and husband, Steve of Charles City; son, William Schultz of Britt;
grandchildren, Rachel and Scott; sister, Victoria Sonnek and husband, Donald of
Wells, Minnesota; brothers, Leo Schultz and wife, Ardean, David Schultz and wife,
Sharon, Eugene "Bud" and wife, Bonita of Longmont, Colorado, Donald Schultz and
wife, Laurie of Colorado, Roger and wife, Corrine of Albert Lea, Minnesota, Lavem
Schultz and wife, Fran of Loveland, Colorado; sisters-in-law, Diane Schultz of
Reinbeck and Marilyn Schultz of Wells, Minnesota; and several nieces, nephews and
other family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents;
wife, Jane in 2002; three brothers, Fritz, Quentin and LeRoy; and one brother,
Robert in infancy.
