Agnes Louise Reese, 96, of
Northwood, died on Saturday,
December 3, 2011, at the
Lutheran Retirement Home in
Northwood.
A funeral service
will be held at 11:00 a.m.,
today (Wednesday), December 7,
at the First Lutheran Church,
Northwood, with Pastor Karen
Rossing Grandall officiating.
Burial will be in the Memorial
Park Cemetery, Mason City.
Visitation was held from 4-6:00
p.m., on Tuesday, December 6, at
the Conner Colonial Chapel,
Northwood. Visitation will also
be held one hour prior to the
service time on Wednesday at the
church. Should friends desire,
those wishing to give a memorial
in her memory may wish to
consider memorial contributions
be made to the First Lutheran
Church, or to the Lutheran
Retirement Home in Northwood.
Agnes Louise
Reese, was born on May 23, 1915
in Kensett, the daughter of
Martin and Anna (Hildahl) Myhre.
Aggie received her education in
the Kensett Community School,
graduating from the Kensett High
School. Aggie was united in
marriage to Robert W.M. Reese on
June 29, 1938, at the Little
Brown Church in Nashua. For most
of her life, Aggie was a loving
and caring stay at home mom and
was a supportive wife to her
husband, Robert during his
career as a highway patrolman.
Aggie loved going
to dances, sewing, crocheting,
playing cards, socializing and
visiting with her family and
many friends. Aggie was a member
of the First Lutheran Church and
the Veterans of Foreign Wars
ladies Auxiliary, all in
Northwood.
Those left to
cherish her memory are her
children, Jon (Carol) Reese of
Cedar Falls and Lana Jo Reffert
of Lincoln, Nebraska;
grandchildren, Randy (Linda)
Reffert of Omaha, Nebraska, Ryan
Reffert of Lincoln, Nebraska,
Rod (Marci) Reffert of Lincoln,
Nebraska and Resa (Trini) Ortiz
of Lincoln, Nebraska;
great-grandchildren, Julia,
Shayla, Scott, Jake and Colby
Reffert and Quintin, Lia and
Calin Ortiz; her sister, Mabel
(Roy) Welch of Northwood; her
brother, Harry (Dorothy) Myhre
of Mason City; a brother-in-law,
Clifford Mourlam of Clear Lake;
and cousin, Edith Hanson of
Northwood; as well as many other
special nieces, nephews and
other extended family members
and friends.
Aggie was
preceded in death by her
parents; husband, Robert;
brothers, Elmer, Oliver and
Stanley Myhre; her sister, Marie
Mourlam; and a son-in-law,
Donald P. Reffert.

Rosanna McNally
December 21, 2011
Rosanna "Rose" Ethel (Snell)
McNally, 95, of Manly, died on
Saturday, December 10, 2011, at
the Mercy Medical Center-North
Iowa in Mason City.
A memorial
service was held at 1:30 p.m.,
on Thursday, December 15, at the
Bride Colonial Chapel, Manly,
with Reverend Kenneth Gehling
officiating. Inurnment will be
at a later date in the Memorial
Park Cemetery, Mason City.
Visitation was held from 11:00
a.m. until the service time on
Thursday, at the chapel.
Rosanna "Rose"
Ethel (Snell) McNally, was born
on March 21, 1916 in Hampton,
the daughter of John and Anna
(Atterson) Pietereson. Rose was
baptized at the St. Paul
Lutheran Church in Hampton. Rose
received her education in the
Mason City Community School,
graduating from the Mason City
High School in 1934. She was
united in marriage to Sidney
Snell in 1934 in Mason City. He
preceded her in death. She was
united in marriage to Earl
McNally on September 5, 1951. He
preceded her in death. Rose last
worked for Winnebago Industries
in Forest City for 10 years
until her retirement.
Rose enjoyed
making Raggedy Ann Dolls,
traveling, going to flee markets
and collecting Indian Dolls.
Rose was a lifetime member of
the St. James Lutheran Church in
Hampton.
Those left to
cherish her memory are her
children, Carolyn Smith-Lane of
Mason City, Kay Yezek of Osage,
Pat (Cindy) McNally of New
Boston, Illinois, Mary (Bob)
Kamish of Manly and Mike (Lori)
McNally of Kensett; 15
grandchildren; 39
great-grandchildren; 15
great-great-grandchildren; one
great-great-great-granddaughter;
her daughter-in-law, Joan Snell
of Rapid River, Michigan;
several nieces and nephews; as
well as many other extended
family members and friends.
Rose was preceded
in death by her parents; both
husbands; her son, Richard
Snell; her brother, Francis
Pietersen; three son-in-laws;
and one grandson.

Kermit Huebner
December 21, 2011
Kermit Irving Huebner, age 85,
died on Wednesday, December 14,
2011, at his home in Grafton,
surrounded by his family after a
short battle with brain cancer.
Memorial services
were held at 1:30 p.m., on
Monday, December 19, 2011, at
the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in
Grafton, with Pastor Mark Decker
officiating. Following the
memorial service, there was a
time for lunch and fellowship at
the church. Private family
inurnment services will be held
in the Grafton Cemetery at a
later date. There was a flag
presentation by the Grafton
American Legion Post 616.
Kermit Huebner,
was born on June 18, 1926 in
rural Grafton, to Irving and
Lilly (Tabbert) Huebner. He
graduated from the Grafton High
School in 1944. Kermit served in
the U.S. Army, spending a year
in Germany. He worked for
Western Union, Grafton
Implement, Sugar Beet and Waters
Electronics. He also worked in
the trucking business and later
started his own radio and
television business and a paint
contracting business. He was
currently employed as the
caretaker and groundskeeper for
the Grafton Cemetery.
Kermit was a
volunteer fireman for 15 years,
served on the town council, was
a member of various boards for
the Emmanuel Church and was a
member of the American Legion.
Kermit married Elaine Bublitz on
August 6, 1950, in Grafton and
together they raised four
daughters. His greatest love
after family was music. Kermit
was well known throughout
northern Iowa for his musical
talent. Kermit and his keyboard
were often seen at celebrations,
which included Turkey Days, area
nursing homes and several
Kensett variety shows. He was
also a member of the “Rhythm
Masters” band. Kermit had a
great talent in woodworking and
enjoyed crafting furniture for
his family.
Kermit is
survived by his wife, Elaine of
Grafton; his daughters, Jeannine
(Bob) Peterson of St. Ansgar,
Deborah (Gary Orth) Huebner of
Zimmerman, Minnesota, Cheryl
Huebner of St. Ansgar and Pat
(Mike) Clark of St. Ansgar;
sister, Darlene Greenway of
Sebring, Florida; mother-in-law,
Lucille Bublitz of St. Ansgar;
brother-in-law, David (Debby)
Bublitz of Carpenter; his good
friend and cousin, Dale (Carol)
Huebner of Mason City; and his
special furry friend, Henry.
Proud to call him “Grandpa” are

Arlene L. Adams
January 11, 2012
Arlene L. Adams, passed away on
Sunday, December 29, 2011, at
the Hospice of the Valley Center
in Mesa, Arizona, where she had
been hospitalized following a
brief illness.
Arlene's body was
cremated and a memorial service
will be held for her in Rapid
City in June.
Arlene was the
fourth child of Frank Sr. and
Henrietta (Abrahams) Adams and
was born on August 7, 1934 in
Linden, Iowa, where the Adams
family resided before moving to
the Northwood area. Arlene was
baptized and confirmed at the
Deer Creek Valley Lutheran
Church near London, Minnesota
and educated in the Northwood
School System. She married Phil
Hanna of St. Ansgar and traveled
worldwide with him when he
served in the U.S. Air Force.
They had three children, Teresa,
Rodney and Sonja. Wherever Phil
was stationed, Arlene packed the
family and household goods and
moved. They lived in Biloxi,
Mississippi; the island of
Okinawa; Morocco; and Spain
before eventually settling in
Rapid City, South Dakota. She
and Phil were divorced and he
passed away in March 1994.
After her
divorce, Arlene moved to Pharr,
Texas, where she managed the
Tropic Star Mobile Home Park for
many years. Upon her retirement
from the park, she moved to
Arizona to be closer to her
daughters and worked as a home
health aide before retiring. In
recent years, Arlene spent the
summers in Rapid City with her
daughter, Teresa and the winters
in Mesa with her daughter,
Sonja.
She was an avid
gardener and maintained a lush
and beautiful garden at both
Teresa's and Sonja's. Her blooms
will be a constant reminder of
her presence in their lives.
Arlene was
preceded in death by her
parents, Frank Sr. and Henrietta
Adams; her grandson, Tony
Matson; her sister, Harriet
Adams Anderson; and many other
relatives.
Arlene is
survived by her loving
daughters, Teresa (Roger) Walton
and Sonja (Jeff) Flahart; and
her son, Rodney; grandchildren,
Sheila (Matthew) Wingler, Dustin
Flahart, Tovah (Brandon)
Woodcock, Trisha (Tom) Olson and
Marcus Gasco;
great-grandchildren, Toni Lynn,
Steven and Alyssa Wingler and
Jaxon Woodcock; her sisters,
Frances Guertin of Mason City,
Delores Marsh of Mason City,
Gloria Helgeson of Kensett and
Marilyn Lagios of Clear Lake;
her brothers, Frank (Judi) and
Albert Adams of Northwood; her
aunt, Dorothy Abrahams Strong of
Bozeman, Montana; and many, many
nieces, nephews and cousins in
the North Iowa and Minnesota
area.

Mary Linden

Mary
Theresa Linden, 91, of
Northwood, formerly of Joliet,
Illinois, died on Saturday,
December 31, 2011, at the
Lutheran Retirement Home in
Northwood.
A memorial mass will be held at
10:30 a.m., on Saturday, June 9,
2012, at the St. Mary’s Catholic
Church in Minong, Wisconsin,
with Reverend James Kinney
officiating. Inurnment will be
held in the Greenwood Cemetery
in Minong, Wisconsin. Visitation
will be held one hour prior to
the services on Saturday, June
9, at the church. Should friends
desire memorial contributions
may be given to the Lutheran
Retirement Home in Northwood, in
her memory. According to her
wishes, cremation has taken
place.
Mary Theresa (Lesh) Linden, was
born on April 11, 1920, the
daughter of Albert and Emily
(Hibler) Lesh. She was united in
marriage to Harry “Swede”
Linden, Jr. on August 16, 1937
at Crown Point, Indiana. Harry
preceded her in death in
February 1989. Mary worked at
the Joliet Ammunition/TNT plant
during World War II and at
Sickles in Joliet, Illinois.
Mary and Harry retired to
Minong, Wisconsin in 1978. Mary
resided in Minong, Wisconsin
until June of 1994, moving to
Joliet, Illinois until December
of 1996, when she returned to
Minong, Wisconsin, moving to
Manly, Iowa in October of 2000.
Mary became a resident of the
Lutheran Retirement Home in
Northwood, Iowa on April 30,
2007, and resided there until
her death on December 31, 2011.
The staff and residence became
Mary’s extended family for the
wonderful care she received by
the many super caring staff!
Mary enjoyed cooking, baking,
her family, playing pool, music,
especially Polka and the staff
dancing with her during the days
of music time at the Lutheran
Retirement Home, fishing, bingo,
activities at the Minong Senior
Center, doing crafts, and
ceramics. Mary was a member of
the Sacred Heart Catholic Church
of Manly and also of the St.
Mary’s Catholic Church in
Minong, Wisconsin. She was also
a member of the veterans of
foreign wars ladies auxiliary at
New Lenox, Illinois, and the
American Legion Post 465 of
Minong, Wisconsin.
Those left to cherish her memory
are her four children, Sandra
“Mitzi” (Larry) Weber of Sussex,
Wisconsin, Phyllis (Ray) Love of
Punta Gorda, Florida, Robert
(Beverly) Linden of Manly and
Lawrence (Kathy) Linden of
