Paula Christine Badker
 

Manly, Iowa- Paula Christine Badker, 41, of Manly died Friday, April 27, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center North Iowa.

A funeral service for Paula was held at 10:00am, Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at the Bethel United Methodist Church, 503 East South Street, Manly with the Reverend Don Preston officiating. Interment was in the Manly Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mercy Cancer Center, 1000 4th St, SW, Mason City or to the Paula Badker Memorial Fund in care of her family.

Paula Christine Badker, daughter of David and JoAnn (Troupe) Lenz was born March 10, 1971 in Oelwein, Iowa. She attended and graduated from Oelwein High School in 1989. Paula started working for Pronto in Hazleton before transferring to Manly Pronto Market. Paula was the manager up till the time of her passing.

She was united in marriage to Lon Badker on September 26, 2009. To this union, Allison Lee was born, along with Lon bringing his children into the family, Mercedes and Madison Badker. Paula enjoyed pictures, crafts, walking, golfing and gardening. M

ost importantly, she spent much of her time taking care of her children and spending time with family and friends. Paula was a caregiver enjoying the company of her family, friends, and the residents of Manly. Paula was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church in Manly.

She will be greatly missed by her husband, Lon Badker, Manly; daughters, Allison, Mercedes and Madison Badker, Manly; mother, JoAnn (Troupe) Lenz, Manly; sister, Malinda Lenz, Manly; brother, John (Victoria) Lenz, Ottumwa, IA; sister, Jodi (Chad) Clendenen, Oelwein, IA; mother-in-law, Joyce Badker, Manly; fatherin- law, Doug (Sue) Badker, Osage, IA; brothers-in-law, Jon (Kim) Badker, Manly and Dustin Badker, Osage, IA; sisters-in-law, Michelle (Dean) Samuelson, Manly and Donna (Joe) Yezek, Manly, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, David Lenz and her sister-in-law, Sheila Badker.


Delores June Tieman

Delores June Tieman, age 80, of rural St. Ansgar, Iowa, died Sunday morning, May 20, 2012 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota.

She was born November 6, 1931 to James and Grace (Day) Ripka in the West Concord area. After growing up in Blooming Prairie, the family moved to Rose Creek where Delores graduated from high school.

She relocated to Brownsdale until her marriage to Justin Tieman on May 18, 1957 at Marshall Lutheran Church in Adams, Minnesota. They made their home near Mona, Iowa. A member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Lyle, Delores enjoyed children, baking, working in the garden, plants and pets. She also volunteered at St. Mark’s Lutheran Home for 12 years.

Survivors include her husband, Justin Tieman; children, Dennis (Debra) Tieman of Fremont, Wisconsin; Darwin Tieman of Austin, Minnesota; LaRae Tieman of St. Ansgar, Iowa; Spencer Tieman of Osage, Iowa; Debra (Rick) Smith of LeSueur, Minnesota; Bryan Tieman of Lyle, Minnesota; Douglas Tieman of Austin, Minnesota; Denise Tieman of Apple Valley, Minnesota; fourteen grandchildren, Gabrielle, Timothy, Andrew, Jonathan, Bethany, Matthew, Ruth, Nicholas, Stephanie, Michael and Joshua Smith; Sarah Lester; Shaelyn and Jada Curry; one great grandchild, Marcus Tieman; many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Grace and James Ripka.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 26, 2012 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Lyle with Pastor Barbara Finley- Shea officiating. Visitation is from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday at Worlein Funeral Home in Austin and at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment is at Greenwood Cemetery, rural Brownsdale. The family prefers memorials to Wycliff Bible Translaters for her grandson’s missionary service.


Olive Irene (Wheeler) Trettin

Olive Irene (Wheeler) Trettin, age 99, of Grafton, died Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at the Osage Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Osage.

Funeral services wereheld at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Grafton with Pastor Barbara M. Wills officiating. Burial was in the Grafton Cemetery.

Olive was born September 15, 1912, on the family farm near McIntire, Iowa, the daughter of Irvin and Cora (Shumway) Wheeler. She graduated from McIntire High School and Hamilton Business College in Mason City.

On September 15, 1942, Olive married Kermit Trettin at St. Joseph, Missouri. They made their home on a farm near Grafton. She enjoyed church, travel, quilting, counted cross stitch, sewing, knitting and games.

Olive is survived by her children, Mardell (Gary) Porter of Sandusky, Ohio, Robert (Mary) Trettin of Waterloo, Tom (Jean) Trettin of Herndon, Virginia; five grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kermit in 1991;one grandson; one sister; and two brothers.
