Lawrence Hultman, age 88, of
Osage, died on Tuesday, November
7, 2006, at the Osage
Rehabilitation and Health Care
Center in Osage.
A Mass of
Christian Burial will be held at
10:00 a.m., on Friday, November
10, 2006, at the Sacred Heart
Catholic Church in Osage, with
Rev. John Moser officiating.
Burial will be in the Sacred
Heart Cemetery in Osage.
Visitation is from 4:30 to 7:00
p.m., on Thursday at the
Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in
Osage, with a rosary at 4:45
p.m. and a scripture service at
6:30 p.m.
Lawrence was born on March 15,
1918 in Mitchell County, Iowa,
the son of Albert and Hazel
(Voaklander) Hultman. He
graduated from the Little Cedar
High School in 1936.
On September 16, 1939, Lawrence
married Lucille Mandler in
Osage. He was a self-employed
truck driver and farmed near
Little Cedar until retiring and
moving to Osage in 1982.
Lawrence was a member of the
Sacred Heart Catholic Church and
the Knights of Columbus. He
enjoyed playing cards, going to
the casinos, and was a history
buff.
He was preceded in death by his
parents; and a sister, Lorraine
Penney.
Lawrence is survived by his
wife, Lucille Hultman of Osage;
a daughter, Janice (Gary) Mauer
of Oskaloosa; a son, Roger
(Mary) Hultman of Austin,
Minnesota; seven grandchildren;
17 great-grandchildren; and a
great-great-grandson.

Dale T. Bensend,
75, of Mona, Iowa, died on
Tuesday, November 7, 2006, at
the Muse Norris Hospice
Inpatient Unit, Mason City,
Iowa.
Funeral services were held on
Thursday, November 9, at 10:30
a.m., at Our Savior's Lutheran
Church, Lyle, Minnesota, with
Rev. Barbara Finley-Shea
officiating. Burial was in the
Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Mona,
Iowa.
Dale was born on April 17, 1931
near Riceville, Iowa, to Cecil
and Nina (Foster) Bensend. He
graduated from the Riceville
High School and the Austin
Community College, majoring in
business. Dale married Donna
Duenow on June 3, 1956 at Our
Savior's Lutheran Church, Lyle,
Minnesota.
Dale worked as a carpenter and
also worked at Hormel's for 22
years. He was a faithful member
of Our Savior's Lutheran Church,
Lyle, where he served as Vice
President, Council Secretary,
Deacon and Trustee. Golfing,
fishing and playing pool were
his passions.
Dale was preceded in death by
his parents; one sister,
Virginia Knode; one brother,
Marvin Bensend; and an infant
sister.
He is survived by his wife,
Donna of Mona; daughter, Tracy
(Rob Arnoldy) Bensend of New
Brighton, Minnesota; son, Chris
Bensend of Ames, Iowa; two
brothers, Bob Bensend of Osage
and Russell Bensend of
Riceville, Iowa; and numerous
nieces and nephews.

Henry J. Becker

Henry J. Becker,
94, of Charles City, died on
Tuesday, November 7, 2006, at
the 11th Street Chautauqua Guest
Home in Charles City.
Funeral services were held at
1:30 p.m., on Saturday, November
11, at the Hauser Funeral Home
in Charles City. Pastor Dennis
Niezwaag of Saint John
Evangelical Lutheran Church
officiated. Burial was in the
Riverside Cemetery, Charles
City.
Henry Joseph Becker, was born on
January 15, 1912 south of
Greene, the son of John
Balthazar and Catherine (Dahmer)
Becker. He was baptized at the
Saint John Lutheran Church,
Vilmar. His parents were
immigrants from Germany.
Henry was the last surviving
member of this first generation
German immigrant family. His
father, seeking a better life
for his family, came to New York
in early 1900. By 1904, through
hard work, Henry's father had
saved enough money to bring his
wife and five young children to
America. They lived in Nebraska
and Ohio, working and saving
until they were able to move to
Greene, where they purchased
farm land. In 1915 the family
moved north of Charles City, on
the Rotary Park Road.
Henry graduated from the Floyd
Consolidated School in 1930.
After graduation, he moved to
Lawton, Oklahoma, where he
worked as a carpenter building
Fort Sill. Missing family and
farming, Henry returned to Iowa.
On January 4, 1935, Henry and
Frances L. Ayers were united in
marriage. To this union four
children were born. In the early
1940's they purchased a farm 10
miles north of Charles City,
where they became very
successful raising crops,
poultry and livestock. Retiring
in the early 80's, they moved to
an acreage two miles north of
Floyd. Frances died in 1992 and
Henry moved to Charles City in
1998.
Henry is survived by his four
children, Marjorie (Ray)
Stoncypher of Floyd, Marlene
Reints of Cedar Falls, James
(Linda) Becker of Windsor,
Colorado and Lorna (David)
Scrimger of Charles City; 10
grandchildren; seven
step-grandchildren; 10
great-grandchildren; and 11
step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded
in death by his parents; his
wife of 57 years; three
brothers, Walter, George and
John Becker; and six sisters,
Katheryn Brinkman, Mollie
Rieken, Marie Rowzee, Lela
Dunlap, Elizabeth Carter
Kirkendall and Dorothy Mullarky
Buche.

William "Willie"
Neis, age 89, of Osage, died on
Wednesday, November 8, 2006, at
the Mitchell County Regional
Health Center-Emergency Room in
Osage.
A Mass of Christian Burial was
held at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday,
November 11, 2006, at the
Visitation Catholic Church in
Stacyville, with Rev. John Moser
officiating. Burial was in the
Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery
in Osage.
Willie was born on September 15,
1917 on a farm near Stacyville,
the son of Ferdinand and Augusta
(Blake) Neis. On August 7, 1946,
he married Irene Faas in
Stacyville. Willie drove a road
grader for the Mitchell County
Highway Department. Following
his retirement, Willie enjoyed
family gatherings, gardening,
and being outdoors.
He was preceded in death by his
parents; his wife, Irene in
1995; an infant son, Richard; a
daughter, Beverly White; a
daughter-in-law, Satoe Neis; a
grandson, Rodney White; two
sisters, Angie Brumm and Agnes
Brumm; an infant brother,
Robert; and three
brothers-in-law, Frank Hoffman,
Ralph McDowell and Bud Miller.
Willie is survived by three
sons, Robert (Myrna) Neis of
Mason City, Dennis Neis of
Tripoli and Michael (Carolyn)
Neis of Osage; five sisters,
Adelaide (Lloyd) Counsell of
Osage, Rosanna Miller of Rudd,
Frances Hoffman of Sun City,

Hemann, 83, died on Wednesday,

Care Center, Osage, Iowa.
Funeral services were held on

Catholic Church, Stacyville,
with Msgr. John Hemann and Rev.
David Hemann officiating. Burial
was in the Visitation Cemetery,
Stacyville.
Herbert Hemann, was born on
January 12, 1923 in Union
Township, Mitchell County, Iowa
to John and Mary (Gerber)
Hemann. He was united in
marriage to Irene Mueller, on
August 25, 1948 at the Sacred
Heart Catholic Church, Meyer,
Iowa. Herbert was a member of
the Catholic Order of Foresters
and a life time member of the
Visitation Church.
He enjoyed farming, and hours
that were spent in his
woodworking shop. Herbert will
be remembered for his strong
faith, love of his family, work
ethic and honesty.
He was preceded in death by his
son, Adrian; parents, John and
Mary (Gerber) Hemann; and two
brothers, Clarence and Roman.
Herbert is survived by his wife,
Irene of Stacyville; children,

Helga Clausen,
91, a life long Stacyville area
resident and homemaker, died on
Saturday, November 11, 2006, at
the Samaritan Bethany Nursing
Home in Rochester, Minnesota.
The visitation for the friends
and family of Helga Mae Clausen
will be held from 1-3:00 p.m.,
on Wednesday, November 15, in
Toeterville, Iowa, at the St.
Peter Lutheran Church. It will
be followed by a private burial
in the St. Ansgar City Cemetery,
with Pastor Lance Kittleson
officiating.
Helga Schwanke, was born on May
2, 1915 in Lyle, Minnesota.
After graduating from the Lyle
High School, she married Charles
Clayton Clausen in 1936. They
farmed near Stacyville and Helga
worked as an aid at the Good
Samaritan Nursing Home in St.
Ansgar.
She was active in her church, a
member of the Sons of Norway,
and a 4-H Leader for many years.
Her hobbies included cooking,
baking, gardening, traveling,
and spending time with her
grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her
husband, Clayton; her son,
Allen; two brothers, Lee and
Elmer; a grandson, Todd; and a
granddaughter, Renae.
Survivors include a son, Richard
(Marlene) Clausen of Osage,
Iowa; a daughter, Linda
(Gregory) Munson of Rochester,
Minnesota; her brother, Arnold
(Geraldine) Schwanke of Ocala,
Florida; seven grandchildren; 10
great-grandchildren; and nephews
and nieces.

Joan Schroeder

Joan Schroeder,
passed away on Sunday, November
12, 2006, in Pinedale, Wyoming.
A memorial service will be held
at Our Savior's Lutheran Church,
Pinedale, Wyoming, on Monday,
November 27, at 11:00 a.m.
Joan was born on May 28, 1943 in
Oelwein, Iowa to Dell Dwayne
Hines and Mabel Eva Teepe Hines.
Joan enjoyed a happy and
adventurous childhood growing up
on farms with loving parents,
grandparents, and a large
extended family.
Joan graduated from the Osage
Community High School in 1961.
Following graduation, she moved
to Denver where she worked for
National Western Life Insurance.
Joan later moved to Minneapolis
where she was employed by Dial
Finance. She was transferred by
that company to Omaha, Nebraska.
In Omaha she met Dennis
Schroeder, who was there on his
first cattle buying job with the
Wilson Packing Company. They
were married on May 23, 1970.
Shortly after
they were married the couple
moved to Dodge City, Kansas,
where Dennis was buying cattle
for Monfort of Colorado and Joan
began an extended college
education, which she enjoyed
immensely. She drove 180 miles
round trip each day to classes
at Fort Hays State University.
Joan received her Bachelor of
Science Degree in Elementary
Education in 1976. In 1980, she
went on to earn a Master's
Degree in Special Reading and
Elementary School
Administration. She graduated
with honors on both occasions.
Joan went on to teach special
reading and gifted classes for
14 years in Dighton, Kansas.
During this period she also
taught graduate level reading
courses at Fort Hays State
University. She was on the
Reading Advisory Board for
Emporia State University in
Emporia, Kansas and worked with
Kansas University in developing
reading competency tests for the
State of Kansas.
During this time, Joan also
became interested in the cattle
business and successfully
operated her own cattle feeding
company for many years.
Joan was a voracious reader of
all kinds of books, often
reading three or four books per
week. Another interest of Joan's
was cooking. She was a Field
Editor for Taste of Home
Magazine for many years.
Joan enjoyed
staying in contact with the many
friends that she acquired
throughout her life. She always
had time for her friends and
will be remembered for her
loyalty and kindness. In her
last months she was overwhelmed
by the support she had.
She was contented spending time
at the ranch enjoying the
abundant wildlife and
entertaining family and friends.
She loved animals of all kinds.
A special companion for many
years was her German Shepherd,
Kaiser.
Joan belonged to Our Savior's
Lutheran Church of Pinedale. She
belonged to the International
Reading Association, of which
she served as President of the
regional chapter.
Joan was preceded in death by
her father, Dell Dwayne Hines;
and her grandparents.
Joan is survived by her husband,
Dennis of Pinedale; her mother
and father, Mabel and Roger
Carmody of Gravette, Arkansas; a
sister, Janet Hilsman of Bella
Vista, Arkansas; and a brother,
David Carmody of West Union,
Iowa. She is also survived by 10
nieces and nephews; and many
great-nieces and nephews.

at the Good Samaritan Center,
St. Ansgar.

11:00 a.m., at the Immanuel
Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar,
with Rev. Dr. Byron Northwick
officiating. Burial was in the
Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
Arnold was born on August 9,
1910, a son of Reinold and
Martha (Diedrich) Bublitz in
Newburg Township, Mitchell
County, Iowa. Arnold was united
in marriage to Wilma Lange on
October 23, 1930. They made
their home in Mitchell and Worth
County farming all their lives
until retiring in 1975 and
moving to St. Ansgar, Iowa.
Arnold was preceded in death by
his parents; wife, Wilma; son,
Duane; three brothers, Wilmer,
Harvey and Lawrence; and a
grandson, Curtis Bublitz.
He is survived by one sister,
Elenora Boerjan; son, Robert and
wife, Pat of St. Ansgar; two
daughters, Shirley and husband,
Curtis Sheets of Iowa City and
Delores and husband, Richard
Trettin of St. Ansgar; eight
grandchildren; 14

78, died at the Mitchell County
Regional Health Center, Osage,
Iowa, on Thursday, November 16,
2006.
Funeral services were held at
10:30 a.m., on Monday, November
20, 2006, at the St. Ansgar
Baptist Church, St. Ansgar, with
Rev. Gary Gonnerman officiating.
Burial was in the St. Ansgar
Cemetery.
Evelyn was born on March 4, 1928
in Austin, Minnesota, to Edward
and Etta (Eckert) Goodew. As a
teenager she accepted Jesus
Christ as her Lord and Savior.
Evelyn married Edgar Fox on May
15, 1948 in Austin, Minnesota.
She worked at Hormel's and later
at the Good Samaritan Center in
St. Ansgar when it first opened.
She worked as a nurse's aide,
charge nurse and activity
director. After retiring she
went back to the Good Samaritan
as a feeder until her health
would not let her continue.
She enjoyed flowers, birds, coin
collecting and collecting post
cards. Her heart was so loving
that she opened her home over
the years to care for people
with health difficulties. Evelyn
will be remembered as a loving
person.
She was preceded in death by her
parents; two children, Robert
and Mary; and one brother in
infancy.
Evelyn is survived by her
husband, Edgar Sr. of St.
Ansgar; one son, Edgar Jr.
(Dixie) of St. Ansgar; two
daughters, Sue (Nick) Streit of
St. Ansgar and Jo Fox of St.
Ansgar; five grandchildren; one
honorary grandchild; four
great-grandchildren; two
brothers, Ray (Billie) Goodew of
Austin, Minnesota and Carroll

(Penney) Canny, age 87, of
Osage, passed away peacefully on
Thursday, November 16, 2006, at
the Mitchell County Regional
Health Center-Hospice Unit in
Osage.
According to Doris' wishes, a
private family service will be
held at a later date.
Doris was born on December 7,
1918 at Little Cedar, Iowa, the
daughter of Sidney and Helen
(Fairbanks) Penney. She
graduated from the Little Cedar
Consolidated School in 1937.
On June 17, 1937, Doris was
united in marriage to Glen Canny
in Mason City, Iowa. She was a
long time member of the Osage
First United Methodist Church,
and was a member of the V.F.W.
Ladies Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her
parents; her husband, Glen
Canny; a son, Ronald Canny; a
brother, Vinus "Bill" Penney;
and a sister, Mildred "Babe"
Canny.
Doris is survived by two
daughters, Sharon Theobald of
Stacyville and Diane Canny of
Bloomington, Minnesota; a
daughter-in-law, Sharon Canny of
Orchard; five grandchildren;
nine great-grandchildren; two
brothers, Merle (Marge) Penney
of Osage and Earle (Beverly)
Penney of Little Cedar; and
numerous nephews and nieces.

Kimberly Joy
Grimm, 33, of Burnsville,
Minnesota, formerly of
Riceville, died on Friday,
November 17, 2006, at the
Fairview Ridges Hospital in
Burnsville, Minnesota.
Funeral services were held on
Tuesday, November 21, at the
Saint John Evangelical Lutheran
Church in Charles City. Pastor
David Werges officiated. Burial
was in the Sunnyside Memory
Gardens, rural Charles City.
Kimberly Joy Grimm, was born on
February 11, 1973 at Charles
City, the daughter of Roger and
Judy (Holm) Grimm. She graduated
from the Riceville High School
in 1991, attended Waldorf
College for two years and
graduated from Wartburg College
in 1995. Kimberly more recently
completed the Radiology Program
at North Memorial Hospital in
Robbinsdale, Minnesota and was
currently enrolled in the MRI
Internship Program.
In March of 2000, Kimberly was
diagnosed with a blood disorder
called Thrombotic
Thombocytopenia Purpura (TTP).
In a brochure expressing her
appreciation for blood donors,
Kimberly described herself, "My
personality is the type that is
very determined. Thankful and
most grateful to all the
surrounding support. I am
athletic, love to play sports,
enjoy the simple things, like a
true smile and a ground ball at
shortstop. I have grown in many
areas and without donors, I
wouldn't have any of this. Thank
you. Life is short, have faith,
family and fun and live it with
ZEST. God has blessed me with
the opportunity to show my
appreciation, share a little
about my story, and to most of
all, encourage blood donations.
Thank you kindly for the
courage".
She was preceded in death by her
paternal grandfather, James
Grimm; maternal grandparents,
Victor and Lorraine Holm; an
aunt and uncle, Gloria and Jim

2006 at Ames, Iowa.

Stuart was born on July 18, 1921
at Little Cedar, Iowa, the son
of Hubert and Gladys (Makepeace)
Penney and was a 1937 graduate
of the Little Cedar Consolidated
School. He farmed near
Stacyville and was a meat cutter
for Hormel's. Stuart served in
the US Navy as an Airman
Machinist Mate 1st Class during
WW II.
He was married to Rosemary
Kreber on March 12, 1945 in
Austin, Minnesota and was a
member of the Visitation
Catholic Church, Stacyville. He
was a 61-year member of the Hale
Penney Fuller American Legion
Post 569 and belonged to the
Hormel Retirees.
He enjoyed his children and
grandchildren. Stuart played
cribbage, euchre, checkers,
hunted and fished. He had a
great sense of humor.
He was preceded in death by his
wife, Rosemary in 2001; son,
John Penney; infant daughter,
Theresa Penney; and his sister,
Dorothy Drum.
Immediate survivors include his
children, Jim (Heather) Penney,
Mary Jo (Larry) Pfeifer Wulf,
Deb (John) Penney Morrow, Elayne
(Steve) Penney-Timmons, Rita

Joyce was born on November 18,
1918 at Osage, Iowa, the
daughter of Gustav and Margaret
(Bahnsen) Paulson. She graduated
from the Osage High School in
1936. Joyce taught at rural
school Cedar No. 5 from 1936 to
1940. On June 4, 1939, she
married Hans Hveem in Osage.
Joyce was a member of Our
Savior's Lutheran Church and the
Eve Circle. She was a life time
member and Past Commander of the
Osage V.F.W. Post 7920 Ladies

Hurshel L. Earles, age 91, of
Osage, died on Friday, November
24, 2006, at the MCRHC-Hospice
Unit in Osage.
Funeral services
were held at 11:00 a.m., on
Tuesday, November 28, 2006, at
the First United Methodist
Church in Osage, with Rev. Dr.
J. Samuel Subramanian
officiating. Burial was in the
Little Cedar Cemetery.
Hurshel was born on August 13,
1915 in Corwith, Iowa, the son
of John L. and Amizon (Dunfee)
Earles. Hurshel farmed near
Crystal Lake, Lime Springs, and
Osage. He moved to Osage in 1966
and worked at the Osage
Cemetery, Farmer's Produce, and
was custodian at the Home Trust
and Savings Bank before
retiring.
He was a member of the First
United Methodist Church in Osage
and the Osage Senior Center. He
delivered Meals on Wheels until
he turned 90. He earned
recognition from the Iowa State
Governor for his volunteer
services. He enjoyed gardening
and making wooden crafts.
Hurshel was preceded in death by
his parents; his wife, Ruth in
2001; brothers, Willis, Harlow,
Burkley, John and James;
sisters, Sylvia Kearney, Murre
Fillenworth and Estle Earles;
son, Richard Earles; daughter,
Marjorie Earles; and a
granddaughter, Sheri Earles.
Hurshel is survived by three
daughters, Betty Norrie of
Rochester, Minnesota, Susan
(John) Campbell of Harlan and
Linda (Paul) Dawson of Newton;
three sons, Jerry (Mary Ellen)
Earles of Independence, Keith
(Carol) Earles of Traer and
Steven Earles of Clear Lake; a
sister, Nona Van Dusseldorp of
Britt; 13 grand-children; and 14
great-grandchildren.

Roger Schnell

Roger Schnell, age 80, of Osage,
died on Friday, November 24,
2006, at the Osage
Rehabilitation and Health Care
Center in Osage.
Funeral services
were held at 11:00 a.m., on
Monday, November 27, 2006, at
the First United Methodist
Church in Osage, with Rev. Dr.
J. Samuel Subramanian
officiating. Burial was in the
Osage Cemetery, with Military
Honors by the Osage American
Legion Post 278.
Roger was born on April 3, 1926
in Arco, Minnesota, the son of
Alvin and Alvina (Abraham)
Schnell. He graduated from the
Tyler High School at Tyler,
Minnesota in 1944. He served in
the U.S. Army during World War
II.
Roger moved to Osage in 1962 and
was employed by the Osage
Municipal Utilities, retiring as
the line foreman in 1989. He
married Mary Ann North on August
27, 1965 in Sioux Falls, South
Dakota.
Roger was a member of the First
United Methodist Church in Osage
and the American Legion Post
278, where he was a past Post
Commander and a member of the
Post Memorial Squad. He enjoyed
boating, fishing, and spending
time with the grandchildren.
Roger was preceded in death by
his parents; one sister; and
three brothers.
Roger is survived by his wife,
Mary Ann Schnell of Osage; a
daughter, Mindy Faas of Osage;
three sons, Mark North of Ames,
Mick North of Little Cedar and
Monte North of Osage; a sister,
Yvonne Hooven of Tyler,
Minnesota; 10 grandchildren; and
eight great-grandchildren.

Wisconsin.

River Falls, Wisconsin. Burial
will be held on Saturday,
December 2, 2006, at the St.
Peter's Cemetery, New Haven,
Iowa.
Mary was preceded in death by
her husband, Vincent; her

sisters.
She is survived by John

Ricky Lee Schulz, age 43, of
Tarpon Springs, Florida and
formerly of Osage, died on
Tuesday, November 28, 2006.
Private family
services were held on Wednesday,
December 6, 2006, at the
Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in
Osage. Rev. Robert Melhorn
officiated. Interment was in the
Osage Cemetery.
Ricky was born on June 26, 1963
at Osage, Iowa, the son of
Ronald and Marjorie (Lassahn)
Schulz. Ricky moved to Florida
in 1986. He was employed by MI
Home Products.
Ricky was a member of the First
Baptist Church. He was an avid
NASCAR fan, and enjoyed fishing,
camping, and working on old
cars.
He was preceded in death by his
grandparents; two nephews, Pacer
and Aaron Power; a niece, Naomi
Power; and a cousin, Laurie
Angell.
Ricky is survived by his wife,
Vickie Schulz of Tarpon Springs,
Florida; a son, Dakota Kyle
Schulz of Tarpon Springs,
Florida; a daughter, Cassie
Everett-Schulz of Tarpon
Springs, Florida; his parents,
Ronald and Marjorie Schulz of
Osage; a brother, Kenneth Schulz

Norman Lincke, age 82, of Osage,
died on Wednesday, November 29,
2006, at the Faith Home in
Osage.
A Mass of
Christian Burial will be held at
10:30 a.m., on Saturday,
December 2, 2006, at the Sacred
Heart Catholic Church in Osage,
with Rev. John Moser
officiating. Burial will be in
the Osage Cemetery, with
military honors at graveside by
the Osage V.F.W. Post 7920 and
the Osage American Legion Post
278. Visitation is from 2:30 to
6:00 p.m., on Friday, at the
Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in
Osage, with a rosary at 3:00
p.m.
Norman was born on August 22,
1924 at Mitchell, Iowa, the son
of Paul and Abigail (Dodge)
Lincke. Norman graduated from
the Osage High School. He served
in the U.S. Army during World
War II, landing in Normandy on
D-Day. His tour also included
Luxemburg, Belgium, and Germany.
Norman was presented with a
Medal of Appreciation from the
Ambassador of France.
He returned to Osage, where he
married Eileen Puettmann on
October 9, 1946, at the Sacred
Heart Catholic Church. Norman
was employed as a mechanic for
the Iowa DOT for 36 years. He
was a member of the Osage V.F.W.
and the Osage American Legion.
Norman was an accomplished
carpenter, and made many pieces
of furniture for his family. He
enjoyed dancing, fishing, and
his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his
parents.
Norman is survived by his wife,
Eileen Lincke of Osage; two
daughters, Claudia (Larry)
Lacour of Osage and Donna Adams
and friend, Rex Ratcliff of
Hampton; five grandchildren; and
eight great-grandchildren.

Mollie H. Moen

Mollie H. Moen, 92, of Nora
Springs, died on Wednesday,
November 29, 2006, at the Muse
Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in
Mason City.
Funeral services
were held at 10:30 a.m., on
Monday, December 4, 2006, at Our
Savior's Lutheran Church in
Osage. Rev. Dennis Hanson and
Rev. Roy Ott officiated.
Interment was in the Osage
Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Lester Benttine,
Stanley Ask, Bud Bahnsen, Scott
Moen, Carol Kastler and Dwayne
Christiansen. Honorary
pallbearers are Janice Benttine,
Cynthia Ehrhart, Pauline
Bahnsen, Mary Louise Byington,
Marlene Kastler, Jeanette
Borchardt and Marlys Kramm.
Mollie was born on January 5,
1914 at Manly, the daughter of
Sonke and Marie (Hansen)
Christiansen.
In February of 1932, she was
married to Lloyd O. Moen of
Carpenter. They farmed in rural
Osage throughout their years
together. They had three
children. After Lloyd's death in
1994, she moved to Osage and in
2004, to Nora Springs.
She was preceded in death by her
parents; her husband, Lloyd; one
son, Roger; one sister, Tillie;
and one brother, Broder.
Mollie is survived by two sons,
Gene Moen of Nora Springs and
Ron Moen of Clarkston, Michigan;
seven grandchildren, Brenda
Dilbeck of Tulsa, Oklahoma,
Scott Moen of Austin,
Minneapolis, Kathy Stowe of
Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Donna
Moen of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Christy
Moen of Topeka, Kansas, Tracy
Moen Victor of Sylvan Lake,
Michigan and Evan Moen of
Clarkston, Michigan; three
great-grandchildren; one sister,
Martha Smith of Phoenix,
Arizona; many nieces and
nephews; and lots of friends who
she continued to cherish and
nurture throughout her 92 years.
