David G. Richards, 56, of Alexander, died on Saturday, October 1, 2011, at his home north of Alexander.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, October 15, at the United Methodist Church in Alexander, with Pastor Don Morrison officiating. Burial will take place in the Alexander cemetery. Friends may call on the family from 9:30 a.m., until the time of the services on Saturday.

Philip "Bill" Montag

October 12, 2011

Philip John "Bill" Montag, 89, of Faribault, Minnesota and formerly of Curlew and Dows, died peacefully on Sunday, October 2, 2011, at his home following a brief illness, cared for by his wife and family.

The family will celebrate Bill’s life with a visitation and funeral Mass. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, October 6, at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church in Faribault, Minnesota. Visitation will be held from 9:30-11:00 a.m., at the church on Thursday. Interment with military honors, will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, October 7, in the St. Mary’s Cemetery in Mallard. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation of food be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry in Faribault or memorial to the Faribault Area Hospice in memory of Bill.

Carma L. Hemmen, 81, of Dumont, died on Monday, October 3, 2011, at the Franklin General Hospital Nursing Facility in Hampton.

Maurine Froning

Maurine O. Froning, 85, of Sheffield, went home to be with her Heavenly Father with her family by her side, on Tuesday, October 4, 2011. Maurine was in Hospice Care for the last month.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., on Friday, October 7, at the First United Methodist Church in Sheffield, with Pastor Sandi Gobeli presiding. Interment was in the Hillside Cemetery, Sheffield. The Retz Funeral Home of Sheffield, was in charge of the arrangements. retzfh.com

Shelly Brannick, 48, of Iowa Falls, died on Thursday, October 6, 2011, from injuries sustained in a car accident.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m., on Monday, October 10, at the First United Methodist Church in Iowa Falls, with burial in the Friends Cemetery, Iowa Falls. The Surls Funeral Home of Iowa Falls, was in charge of the arrangements.

Frank Fader

October 12, 2011

Frank David Fader, 90, of Hampton, died on Saturday, October 8, 2011, at the Franklin General Nursing Facility in Hampton.

Frank has been cremated and graveside memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, October 22, at the Hampton Cemetery in Hampton. The Hampton American Legion Post 183 will give honors. Lillian Ann Wiegmann, 78, of Reinbeck, died on Sunday, October 9, 2011, at the Parkview Manor Nursing Home in Reinbeck, with members of her family present.

A memorial service was held at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, October 15, at the Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home in Allison. Family greeted friends for an hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Homes of Allison, was in charge of the arrangements.

Carrington Allan Baker, 21, of Eagle Grove, left this world unexpectedly from natural causes, on Monday, October 10, 2011, and now celebrates eternal life with our Lord in heaven.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, October 15, at the Grace Evangelical Free Church in Eagle Grove, with Pastors John Nett and Tim Olson officiating. Constance "Connie" Joy Meyer, 83, of Hampton, formerly of rural Bradford, died peacefully to her new life on Wednesday, October 12, 2011, at the Hampton Rehabilitation Center.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Tuesday, October 18, at the St. Peter's United Church of Christ in rural Geneva, with Pastor Chuck Aurand officiating. William C. Bertelson, 77, of Topeka, Kansas, formerly of Hampton, died on Tuesday, October 18, 2011, at the Midland Hospice House in Topeka, Kansas, joining his family in Heaven after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m., on Tuesday, October 25, at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Transfiguration in Mason City. Burial was in the Elmwood Cemetery in Mason City. The Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home of Hampton, was in charge of the arrangements.

Ella M. (Lohrman) Hageman Wilson, 108, of Storm Lake, died on Wednesday, October 19, 2011, at the Methodist Manor Retirement Community in Storm Lake.

Memorial services were held at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, October 24, at the St. Mark Lutheran Church in Storm Lake. Burial was in the Graceland Park Cemetery in Sioux City. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations may be made to a charity of your choice. The Fratzke and Jensen Funeral Home of Storm Lake, was in charge of the arrangements.

George Robert Artley (Bob Artley), husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, author, cartoonist, illustrator, and commercial artist, passed away in Akron, Ohio on Friday, October 21, 2011. He was 94 years old.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, October 29, at the Hampton United Methodist Church. Inurnment will be in the Hampton Cemetery. Mary Louise McGreevey-Price, 73, of Hampton, passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2011, at the Hampton Rehabilitation Center, due to emphysema and complications following a hip fracture.

A celebration of Mary’s life will be held this Saturday, November 5, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at the Harriman Park Shelter in Hampton.
