Luva Mae Mohrfeld dies

Graveside services for Luva Mae Mohrfeld will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 2, 2011 at Calvary Cemetery in Elma, with Fr. Ray Atwood officiating.

Junilla Kuehn dies at 88

Junilla Kuehn, age 88 of New Hampton, died Wednesday, August 31, 2011, at her daughters home in New Hampton.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, 2011, at Holy Family Parish - St. Mary's Center, New Hampton with Rev. Mark Osterhaus officiating. Lector for the service will be Marlys Sinnwell. The offertory gifts will be presented by Kyle Burke, Matthew Kuehn and Kaitlyn Kuehn.

Interment will be in St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery, Ionia, with Mike Kuehn, Sky Burke, Rob Noss, Joan Kobliska, Dennis Kuehn, Vince Miller, Matthew Kuehn, Kaitlyn Kuehn and Kyle Burke serving as pallbearers.

Friends may greet the family 3 - 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 2, 2011, at the Hugeback and Chenoweth Funeral Home, New Hampton where there will be a 5 p.m. parish scripture service. Junilla Loretta Kuehn was born May 25, 1923, in Ionia, the daughter of Elizabeth (Arnhalt) and William Sinnwell. She received her education in Ionia at St. Boniface Catholic School. On February 18, 1944, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Ionia, she was united in marriage to Cletus Francis. To this union, three children were born.

Junilla worked at the Egg Plant in Ionia and following her marriage, she joined her husband farming. The couple worked side by side for nearly 45 years on their farm, northwest of Ionia. On September 14, 1968, Junilla and Cletus lost their son Duane. He was a Private First Class in the Vietnam War.

Cletus died on November 19, 1990, at the age of 73. Junilla stayed on the farm until 2002, moving to New Hampton at that time. Junilla continued to be active in both her New Hampton and Ionia parish, playing the organ at St. Boniface Catholic Church for many years. She enjoyed playing cards, was a member of the 500 mixer, made wedding flowers for many families, was a member of the “Jolly 15” Club, enjoyed gardening, and making baptism stole’s for many members. Junilla be remembered for her polite manner, kind heart and strong faith.

Junilla is survived by one daughter, Diane (Randy) Burke of New Hampton; a grandson, Mike (Robin) Kuehn of Oregon, Ill.; a son, Gary (Connie) Kuehn of Ionia; a sister, Kathleen (Virgil) Laures of New Hampton; a brother, Myron (Dorothy) Sinnwell of New Jersey; seven grandchildren, Mike, Kristi, Dawn, Aimee, Kevin, Sky, and Kyle; and three great grandchildren, Matt, Katie, and Lucas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Cletus; one son, Duane; one sister, Sr. Armella Sinnwell; two brothers, Cyril and Pete Sinnwell.
