Florence Thompson, 74

July 11, 2001

Florence Gene Thompson, 74, of Kanawha, died from complications of a heart condition on Tuesday, July 3, 2001, at the Desert Samaritan Hospital in Mesa, Arizona.

Memorial services were held on Monday, July 9, at 10:30 a.m., at the Kanawha Lutheran Church in Kanawha, with Rev. Dr. William H. Breen Interim Pastor, officiating.

Florence is survived by her son, Doug and his wife, Barb Thompson of Kanawha; daughters, Corrine "Connie" and her husband, Craig Watne of Belmond, Mona and her husband, Mark Peller of Mesa, Arizona and Kris and her husband, Dave Mehmen of West Des Moines.

She is also survived by her grandchildren, Adam and Aaron Thompson of Kanawha, Jeremy Watne and his wife, Jennifer of Avon, Indiana, Michelle Watne of Schaumburg, Illinois, Andrea and Rachael Watne of Belmond, Danielle and Rachel Peller of Mesa Arizona, Alex and Brandon Scott of West Des Moines; and step-grandchildren, Dave Mehmen Jr., US Army, Steph Mehmen of West Des Moines and Dan Mehmen of Indianola.

Lois L. Adreon, 66

July 11, 2001

Lois Lorraine Adreon, 66, of Britt, passed away on Wednesday, July 4, 2001, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 7, at 10:30 a.m., at the United Methodist Church in Britt, with Pastor Robert Dodge officiating. Music was provided by pianist, Peggy Eisenman and soloist, Darcy Eisenman.

Lois is survived by her husband, Dayton of Britt; three daughters, Robin Howe and her husband, John of Garner, Kim Grant and her husband, Tom of Britt and Darcy Eisenman and her husband, Mark of Britt; son-in-law, Max Studer of Garner; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three sisters, Helen Brunes and her husband, Stanton of Goodell, Marjorie Clark of Mason City and Carole Taylor of Mason City; and one brother, James Shelton of Cedar Falls.

Mark J. Studer 

August 8, 2001

Mark Julius Studer, of Wesley, died on Sunday, July 29, 2001, in Britt.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, August 1, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wesley, with Father Dan Greiving officiating.

Mark is survived by his wife, Mildred Studer of Wesley; three children, Lavonne Newlin and her husband, Jerry of Cape Coral, Florida, Louise Davis and her husband, Roy of Mountain Lakes, New Jersey and Mark A. Studer and his wife, Jane of Wesley; three grandchildren, Andrew Davis of Mountain Lakes, New Jersey, Tracy Studer and his wife, Mandie of Wesley and Kristin Studer of Wesley; one brother, Ben J. Studer of Wesley; two sisters, Zita Welter of Montgomery City, Missouri and Bernadette Cassel, Los Angeles, California; and many nieces and nephews.
