Kinseth

Cyrena K. Kinseth, 80, died on Saturday, September 5, 2009,
at the Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs.
Cyrena Katherine, was born on January, 4, 1929 in Renwick,
the daughter of Jacob and Marie Edell DeWaard. She graduated
from the Corwith High School and then nurses training. She
married Kenneth Kinseth in 1953 at the Christian Reformed
Church in Kanawha. She worked at the Belmond clinic until
1966 when they moved to Decorah.
Cyrena was preceded in death by her husband in 2001; and
brothers, Adrian and Clarence.
Survivors include her children, Linda (Keith) Skinner of
Council Bluffs, Leslie (Alisa) Kinseth of Clear Lake, Bruce
(Lisa) Kinseth of Coralville and Gary (Darla) Kinseth of
Mason City; sisters, Anne Uken of Kanawha and Nellie Eliason
of Pella; sisters-in-law, Lucille DeWaard of Corwith, Shari
Kinseth and Janyce Kluss; and brother-in-law, Roland Kinseth,
all of Belmond.

Virginia Mennenga
September 29, 2009
Virginia "Ginny" E. Mennenga, 66, formerly of Clear Lake,
died on Sunday, September 13, 2009, at her daughter's home
in Lusby, Maryland.
Memorial services will be
held on Saturday, October 24, at 1:00 p.m., at the Ward-Van
Slyke Colonial Chapel in Clear Lake. Visitation will be held
one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
According to her wishes, her body has been donated to
Anatomy Gifts Registry of Glen Burnie, Maryland.
Ginny was born on April 3, 1943 in Rowan, the daughter of
Weston and Ada (Shahan) Hughes. She attended the Belmond and
Clear Lake Schools. Virginia married Kyle Mennenga on July
23, 1960 in Belmond. They farmed in the Steamboat Rock
area. They moved to California in 1984 and returned to Iowa
in 1991.
For many years Ginny
enjoyed cooking as a dietary aide at the Oakwood Care Center
in Clear Lake. She enjoyed her family, collecting owls,
reading and listening to country music.
Ginny was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in
January 1999; sisters, Lola Mae Hughes and Barbara Pals; and
father-in-law and mother-in-law, Arnold and Beryl Mennenga.
Ginny is survived by her daughter, Eva (Robert) Burns of
Lusby; son, Robert (Wanda) Mennenga of Radcliffe; seven
grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Rebecca
(Steve) Frerichs of Steamboat Rock and Linda (Gene) Helland
of Fonda; and brothers, Lee Hughes of Clear Lake, Gary
(Joann) Hughes of Peoria, Arizona, Lyle (Margaret) Hughes of
Marion, Darwin Hughes of Clear Lake, Keith (Suzette) Hughes
of Truesdale and Paul (Judy) Hughes of Parkersburg.

Diann Bonjour
September 29, 2009
Diann J. Bonjour, 55, of Dows, died on Monday, September 21,
2009, at the Rehabilitation Center of Belmond.
Funeral services were held
on Thursday, September 24, at the First Lutheran Church in
Dows. Interment was in the Hansell Cemetery- Ingham
Township.
Diann was born on July 31, 1954 in Mason City, the daughter
of James and Beverly Niver Thomas. She attended the Mason
City and Clear Lake Schools, graduating from the Mason City
High School in 1972. She worked as a nurses' assistant at
the Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Mason City and as a
manufacturing technician, most recently at Eaton in Belmond.
Diann married Wade Bonjour on July 27, 1996. They lived in
Dows.
Diann enjoyed quilting, crochet, crafts, photography and
researching genealogy. She also enjoyed her dogs. She
especially liked spending time with her three grandchildren.
She was an active member of the Franklin County Genealogy
Society and a member of the First Lutheran in Dows.
Diann was preceded in death by her father; maternal and
paternal grandparents; and nephew, Brandon Thomas.
Survivors include her husband; sons, Paul of Stanhope,
Richard (Robin) of Marshalltown and Jamie (Jennifer) of
Cummings; grandchildren, Emma, Christian and Grace; her
mother of Mason City; sisters, Carol, Sharon and Linda; and
brothers, James, Robert, Jerry, Gary and Tim.

Marjorie Thompson
September 29, 2009
Marjorie Thompson, 81, a longtime Ellsworth resident, died
on Tuesday, September 22, 2009, at Stratford Nursing and
Rehabilitation.
Funeral services were held
on Saturday, September 26, at the Ellsworth Community
Center. A memorial fund has been established for the
Hamilton County Hospice in Webster City.
Marjorie Dean was born on October 9, 1927 in Milwaukee, to
Laurel (Lunk) and Dorothy (Purcell) Helland. She grew up in
Belmond, graduating from the Belmond High School and
attended Morningside College in Sioux City. On July 20,
1947, she married Dale Thompson.
Marjorie was a member of the Ellsworth United Methodist
Church and the United Methodist Women. She was also a member
of the VFW Auxiliary and was a Girl Scout Leader. She loved
bowling, fishing, reading and knitting. Marjorie enjoyed
serving folks in the concession stands for South Hamilton
baseball and at the Ellsworth Community Center.
Marjorie is survived by her husband of Stratford; son, Jim
(Sue) of Ely, Iowa; daughter, Peg (Mark) Thompson of Jewell;
grandchildren, Mark (Dee) Hoefer and Mary Ann Hoefer (and
Mike); great-grandchildren, Thomas Dylan Hoefer, Christopher
Michael Hodge, Harlie Rene Hodge and Hunter Austin Hodge;
sister, Mary Joye Finn of Evansville, Wisconsin; brother,
David Helland of Rochester; and cousin, Mildred Anderson of
Belmond.

Donnelle Frye
September 29, 2009
Donnelle Clayton Frye, 86, of Clear Lake and Fort Myers,
Florida, died on Friday, September 25, 2009, at the Muse
Norris Hospice in Mason City.
Funeral services were held
on Monday, September 28, at the Dows United Methodist
Church, with burial in Fairview Cemetery.
Don was born on September 25, 1923 in Popejoy, the son of
Ray and Berenice (Hilton) Frye. He graduated from the Dows
High School in 1940 and served in the United States Army,
Third Infantry Division, from March 1943 to November 1945.
He was awarded five major battle medals during his journey
through North Africa and Europe during WW II.
On June 6, 1947, Don married Elaine Erickson. They raised
six children on the family farm. Don farmed his entire life,
enjoyed woodworking and gardening, and in the 50's ran the
Belmond Sales Pavilion with his father.
After retirement, Don enjoyed driving the combine during
harvest. He took up golf in his mid 50's and treasured this
in addition to the friendships that he made in Dows, Clear
Lake and Fort Myers. Don was a member of the Dows United
Methodist Church and a director of the Dows Farmers
Cooperative for 19 years, of Boone Valley Cooperative for
two years and was a founding director of AGP in Eagle Grove.
Don was preceded in death by his first wife, Elaine 1982;
his second wife, A. Joan (Walker) in 1999; and his parents,
Ray in 1990 and Berenice in 1997.
He is survived by his children, Debra (Robert) Bookman of
Houston, Texas, Ray Frye of Webster City, Renee Ransom of
Houston, Jeffrey (Sherri) Frye of Fort Dodge, Richard
(Susan) Frye of Altoona and Douglas (Anita) Frye of Dows;
grandchildren, Marek and Robert (Amber) Bookman, Kristen
(Wesley) Newton, Brian Frye, Ryan and Stacy Ransom, Heather
Frye, Kelly, Colin and Eric Frye and Zachary and Mariah
Frye; great-grandchildren, Ashley and Jordan Newton;
sisters, Jean Winegar of West Des Moines and Betty Jane
McClenahan of Belmond; and his close friend and neighbor for
the past nine years, Margaret Logan of Fort Myers.

June Mosiman
September 29, 2009
June Marie Mosiman, 82, of Belmond, died on Sunday,
September 27, 2009.
Funeral services will
be held on Wednesday, September 30, at the Belmond United
Methodist Church, at 1:00 p.m. The family will receive
friends at the church from noon until 1:00 p.m. Memorials in
June's name can be made to the Belmond-Klemme Schools or the
Belmond Medical Center.
June was born on February 5, 1927, to Nysco and Fannie
(Pals) Boelman. She graduated from the Belmond High School
in 1944 and then attended the Thompson Beauty School in Des
Moines. June was a beautician to many for 42 years.
Being on the golf course was the highlight of many of June's
days. If not on the golf course, she enjoyed winters in
Texas, traveling with Cec and time with her grandchildren
and great-grandchildren. Later she became known as "June
Bug" at the Belmond Rehabilitation Center where she was
dearly loved, and she loved the staff.
She was preceded in death by her son, Brian; her parents;
sister, Minnie Pals; and brother, Jake Boelman.
June is survived by her husband, Cec "Eugene"; daughter,
Phyllis (Jerry) Stadtlander of Waukee; sons, Dan (Mary)
Mosiman of Ames and Jeff (Kim) Mosiman of Ames;
grandchildren, Jody (Brandon), BJ (Allison), Kathryn,
Madelyn, Lauren, Hillary, Zach and Sam; great-grandchildren,
Taylor, Brady, Sydney, Ryder and Brooklyn; brother, Roger
(Lucille) Boelman of Belmond; and sister-in-law, Janet
Boelman of Belmond.
