Frances Ask

Frances Mary Ask, 96, of Webster City, died on Sunday, May
3, 2009, at the Southfield Wellness Community.
Funeral services will be
held on Friday, at 10:30 a.m., at the Boman Funeral Home in
Webster City, with Rev. David Doerr officiating. Burial will
be in the Roland Cemetery at a later date. Friends may call
before the services starting at 9:30 a.m.
Frances was born on July 1, 1912 in Webster City, to Robert
and Pearl (McCloskey) Pringle. She graduated from the
Webster City High School in 1931. She married Roy Charlie
William Ask on March 1, 1935 in Webster City. The first year
of marriage they farmed near Dows. The next 47 years were
spent in Webster City where she worked in the sieve factory
during WW II. Then she was employed by Morton Frozen Foods
until the Webster City plant closed.
Frances was a member of
the women's club and the First Baptist Church. She enjoyed
fishing, playing bridge, crocheting and especially spending
time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; brothers, Joseph
Richard and Kenneth; sisters, Dorothy Pringle, Carol Bonner
and Katherine Pringle; and nephew, Billy Bonner.
Survivors include her sons, John (Marilyn) of Sedona,
Arizona and David (Beverly) of Harlan; daughter, Sheryl
(Harold) Hill of Belmond; eight grandchildren; fifteen
great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and her
brother, Bob Pringle of Webster City.

Marjorie Sturm
May 12, 2009
Marjorie M. Sturm, 61, of Belmond, died on Monday, February
2, 2009, at the Belmond Health Care Center.
Memorial services will be
held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday May 16, at the Belmond
Cemetery, with Pastor Paddy Druhl officiating. Arrangements
are being conducted by the Dugger Funeral Home.
Marjorie Mae, the daughter of Albert G. and Nellie M.
Robertson Sturm, was born on May 4, 1947 in Belmond. She
grew up in Belmond where she attended school. After
achieving her GED she completed education as a Certified
Nurse's Assistant. Marjorie proudly worked at the Belmond
Health Care Center for over twenty years. She retired in
2006 and entered the nursing home in 2008.
Marj was a very proud mother and grandmother. She enjoyed
playing cards and attending family gatherings.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Scott in
2006; and sister, Darlene Mallow.
Marjorie is survived by daughter-in-law, Sheri of Belmond;
grandchildren, Zach and Kayla at home; and brothers, Harvey
(Delores) of Belmond, Roy (Laverna) of Belmond, Ardell
(Shirley) of Humboldt and Albert Lea (Karen) of Geneva.

Gerald Vander Wolde

Gerald "Gerry" Vander Wolde, 72, died on Monday, May 4,
2009, in New Braunfels, Texas, following a lengthy battle
with declining health.
Funeral services were held
on Monday, May 11, at the First Reformed Church in Buffalo
Center. Burial was in the Ell Township Cemetery, Klemme.
Gerald L. was born on May 24, 1936 in Martin, South Dakota,
along with his twin sister, Gladys. During child birth, his
mother, Gladys Allison died leaving his father, Lee Allison
to care for the newborn twins and seven other children. The
twins were adopted by Reverend Gerrit and Johanna Vander
Wolde. The other children were cared for in different homes.
As the twins matured they were united with their brothers
and sisters and have celebrated biannual family reunions
through the years. Gerry married Joanne Trampel on October
26, 1966, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. They made
their home and raised their two children in the Klemme area.
Gerald worked for Iowa State University and for the town of
Klemme, but spent most of his life as a pipeline inspector
traveling throughout the U.S.
He enjoyed special times with family and friends, fishing,
riding horses, his greyhounds, golfing and playing pool and
cards. Gerald will long be remembered for his jokes and
pranks. He was a member of the Grace Memorial Church of New
Braunfels, the Fraternal Order of the Eagles and the Elk's
Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his birth parents; his adopted
parents; sisters, Delores Allison and Shirley Ringo and her
husband, Bing; brothers, Andrew, John and his wives, Velma
June and Dorothy, Jim and Ken Allison; and brother-in-law,
Rudy Van Drie.
Survivors included his wife of New Braunfels; son, Jeffrey
of Glendale, Arizona; daughter, Misty of Ironwood, Michigan;
mother-in-law, Ruth Trampel of Klemme; twin sister, Gladys
Van Drie of Estes Park, Colorado; sister, Mitzi (Harold)
Mills of Fairfield Glade, Tennessee; brother, Bill (Marlene)
Allison of Wheatland, Wyoming; sisters-in-law, Anna Allison
of Gordon, Nebraska, Mabel Allison of Hot Springs, Sourh
Dakota and Dixie (Larry) Treinen of Klemme; and
brothers-in-law, Richard (Diane) Trampel and Terry (Tracy)
Trampel of Klemme.

Blake Boelman

Blake Evan Boelman, infant son of Andrew and Heather Boelman
of Fort Irwin, California and formerly of Goodell, was born
silently on Friday, May 8, 2009.
A memorial service will be
held at 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday May 26, 2009, at the Goodell
United Methodist Church, with Pastor Paddy Druhl
officiating. Burial will take place in the Amsterdam
Cemetery near Goodell.
Blake is survived by his parents; sister, Elizabeth;
grandparents, Annette Boelman of Goodell, Brent and Sheri
Boelman of Meservey, Craig and Janet Kennedy of Clear Lake
and Kevin and Kimberly Buffington of Clear Lake; and uncle,
Nathan.

Lavonne McCoy

Lavonne H. McCoy, 85, of Belmond, died on Tuesday, March 17,
2009, at the Belmond Health Care Center.
Memorial services and
burial will be held at 11:30 a.m., on Saturday, May 30, at
the Alexander Cemetery, with Pastor JoAn Skyrme officiating.
A picnic lunch will follow at the Belmond's Swimming Pool
Park. A park bench installed in Lavonne's memory will be
dedicated. Memorials may be directed to the City of Belmond
Parks Department. Arrangements are being handled by the
Dugger Funeral Home.
Lavonne Helen, the daughter of Elias and Helena Pearson
Klienfelter, was born on October 18, 1923 in Alexander. She
grew up in that area, attending country schools and the
Alexander Community School, and graduated in 1941. Lavonne
married Donovan G. McCoy on October 20, 1942 in Baltimore,
Maryland. They made their home in Baltimore during World War
II. After the war Donovan and Lavonne made their home in
Dows, Belmond and Ames, moving to Rowan in 1986. Donovan
died in 1987.
Lavonne enjoyed collecting plates, bells, brooms, dolls,
pictures, hats and hat pins. She enjoyed visiting an Indian
reservation in South Dakota and trips to Branson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters,
Evenette and Mildred; and brother, Shorty.
Lavonne is survived by her son, Jeff (Holly) of Bettendorf;
grandchildren, Shannon (Ryan) Redington, Emmalee (Andrew)
Forth and Michaela (Trent) Hill; great-grandchild, Broxton;
and sisters, Bernie Chandler and Jeannette Schroeder, of
Belmond.
