No formal services will be held. A private family burial will be held at a later date. The Linn’s Funeral Homes Iowa Falls Chapel is assisting the family with Nada’s wishes.

Longtime Sheffield resident Verda Meyer, passed away on Monday, June 4, 2012, at the Sheffield Care Center at 97 years of age.

Laurence A. “Babe” Moran, age 91, died on Friday, June 15, 2012, at the Iowa Veteran’s Home, Marshalltown, from complications of Alzheimer’s disease. He was born on February 11, 1921 in Duluth, Minnesota, to Ralph and Christine (Vetchello) Moran.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 30, at the Williams-Lobermeier Funeral Home in Duluth. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to the East Central Iowa Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Luverne "Vern" A. Humburg, 74, of Hampton, Iowa, passed away on Monday, June 25, 2012, at the Hampton Hospital Hospice Center after a long battle with cancer.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, June 28, at the Hampton United Methodist Church in Hampton. Visitation will be held from 5-7:00 p.m., on Wednesday, June 27, at the Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home in Hampton and will continue one hour prior to the services at the church. Rev. David Wagner, Rev. Delbert Beard of Bristow and Chaplin Rosie Schlueter of Mason City will be officiating the service. The Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home of Hampton, was in charge of the arrangements.

Jennie Diane (Pearce) Bonjour, 35, passed from this Earth on the morning of Wednesday, June 27, 2012, after a long courageous battle with cancer at her home in Sheffield, leaving the arms of her loving husband and entering the arms of Christ her Savior. She was surrounded by her family and many friends.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., on Monday, July 2, at the First Grace Baptist Church, Sheffield, with Rev. Ken Livingston presiding. Interment was in the Hillside Cemetery, Sheffield. The Retz Funeral Home, Sheffield, was in charge of the arrangements.

Kenneth Winwood, 89, of Alexander, died on Thursday, June 28, 2012, at the Comfort House in Pella. Ken farmed for many years in the Alexander area. He and his wife Marcella recently moved to Pella to be close to their children and resided at Vriendschap Village.

Funeral services were held on Monday, July 2, at the Dugger Funeral Home in Belmond. Burial was in the Alexander Cemetery, following a time of fellowship at the Belmond United Methodist Church. The Dugger Funeral Home of Dows, was in charge of the arrangements.
