Iowa Falls, passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2012, at
the Heritage Care Center, Iowa Falls.
Funeral services will be
held at 10:30 a.m., on Wednesday, February 8, at the First
Christian Church, Iowa Falls, with Pastor T. J. Norman
officiating. Burial will be in the Friends Cemetery, Iowa
Falls. Memorials may be directed to the North Iowa Hospice
or to the family.

Tjebkes, 95, of Allison, passed away on Wednesday, February
8, 2012, at the Rehabilitation Center of Allison.
Funeral services were held
on Saturday, February 11, at the Trinity Reformed Church,
Allison. Burial was in the Folkers Cemetery, rural Allison.
The Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home, Allison, was in charge of
the arrangements.

Ecko
Mennen, 94, of Cedar Falls, formerly of Aredale, died on
Thursday, February 9, 2012, at the NewAldaya Lifescapes in
Cedar Falls. He was born on August 10, 1917 near Grundy
Center, Iowa, the son of Ecko and Florence (Deters) Mennen.
Services will be held at
1:00 p.m., on Thursday, February 16, at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof
Funeral Home in Cedar Falls, with burial in the Dumont
Cemetery in Dumont. Visitation will be from 5-7:00 p.m., on
Wednesday, February 15 and from 12:30 p.m. until the service
time on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be
directed to the family. Condolences may be left at

Joel Eddy, 53, of Latimer,
passed away on Wednesday, February 29, 2012, as a result of
a traffic accident on Highway 3, near his home in Latimer.
Funeral services will be
held on Tuesday, at 10:30 a.m. at the Nazareth Lutheran
Church in Coulter, Iowa. Visitation will be held on Monday,
from 4-8:00 p.m., at the Sietsema Vogel Funeral Home in
Hampton. Pastor Brian Haynes will be officiating. Burial
will take place at a later date.

Eddy Dies
in Collision on February 29
February 29, 2012
A
Latimer man is dead and four others injured after a
car accident 3 miles east of I-35 this morning,
Wednesday, February 29, on Hwy. 3.
Mario Baez-Calles, of Hampton, was westbound in a
2002 Chevrolet Avalanche, an SUV truck. Raymond Joel
Eddy was eastbound in a 1999 Ford Ranger, a pickup.
Baez-Calles lost control of the vehicle, crossed the
centerline and struck Eddy's vehicle head-on. Eddy
died. He was transported to the Sietsema-Vogel
Funeral Home.
Baez-Calles and passengers were Javier Baez, Sergio
Antonio Mareno and Noe Vela, all Hampton, were
injured and transported to the Franklin General
Hospital.
Eddy is listed as the owner of Iowa Connect, a
computer consultant company in Hampton.
The
Latimer Fire Department, West Franklin EMS, Franklin
General EMS, Franklin County Sheriff's Department,
Iowa State Patrol and AMR Ambulance out of Iowa
Falls assisted.
Seatbelt use and ages were unknown at the time of
the report.
