August 15, 2012

Russell Ray Knipfel, 60, of Hampton, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, August 1, 2012, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., on Friday, August 3, at the Faith Baptist Church in Hampton. Visitation was from 4-7:00 p.m., on Thursday, August 2, at the Sietsema Vogel Funeral Home in Hampton. Pastor David Koenigsberg and Pastor Darren Chipp officiated at the service. Burial took place in the Hampton Cemetery.

Norman Roegner

August 8, 2012

Norman Boyd Roegner, 79, of Ackley, passed away peacefully in the Hospice House of North Iowa at Mason City, surrounded by family on Sunday, August 5, 2012.

Funeral services were held in the Geneva Methodist Church, at 10:30 a.m., on Wednesday, August 8. His visitation was held at the Sietsema Funeral Home in Ackley, from 4-8:00 p.m., on Tuesday, August 7. He was laid to rest in the Hampton Cemetery, with Reverend Harry Imlay officiating. The Sietsema Vogel Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Miriam Griner

August 15, 2012

Miriam Bernice Griner, 94, Rush City, Minnesota and formerly of Dumont, died on Sunday, August 5, 2012, at the Golden Living Center in Rush City.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, August 9, at the New Hope Parish of the United Methodist Church in Dumont, with burial in the Dumont Cemetery. The Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home, Dumont, is in charge of the arrangements.

Verne Freie

August 15, 2012

Verne Freie, 83, of Newhall and formerly of Sheffield, lost his battle with cancer and went to his Heavenly Home on Monday, August 6, 2012.

A celebration of his life was held at the St. John Lutheran Church, Newhall, on Saturday, August 11, with the Rev. Steven Rempfer, pastor, officiating. Visitation was at the church on Friday, August 10, from 4-7:00 p.m. Interment took place following the service in the St. John Lutheran Cemetery near Newhall. The Phillips Funeral Home in Vinton, is in charge of the arrangements and condolences may be left at www.phillipsfuneralhomes.com.

David Hogan

David James Hogan, 44, of Ackley, died on Thursday, August 9, 2012, at his son’s home in Ackley.

In abiding with David’s wishes, his body has been cremated and private family graveside services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family. The Linn’s Funeral Homes Ackley Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Lydia Hemmes

Lydia E. Hemmes, 98, of Hampton and Latimer, passed away on Friday, August 10, 2012, at the Franklin General Hospital Nursing Facility in Hampton.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., on Tuesday, August 14, at the Zion Reformed Church north of Latimer, with the Rev. Art Zewert pastor, officiating. Burial was in the Zion Reformed Church cemetery. The family wishes memorials be made in Lydia E. Hemmes’ name to the Zion Reformed Church. The Dugger Funeral Home, Latimer, was in charge of the arrangements.

Dorothy Loebig

Dorothy Laviegne Loebig, 78, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, passed away suddenly at her home on Friday, August 10, 2012.

A graveside service will be held in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Wesley, on Wednesday, August 15, at 1:30 p.m. Please join the family following the internment for refreshments at the St. Joseph Church, Wesley. The Chapel Hill Funeral Home of Sioux Falls assisted the family.

Gary Warman, 70, a longtime resident of Iowa Falls, Alden and Williams, died on Saturday, August 18, 2012, at the North Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Phoenix, Arizona.

Memorial services are tentatively planned for 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, September 22, at the Alden United Methodist Church. The Linn’s Funeral Homes Iowa Falls Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Dorothy H. Spangenberg, 87, of Hampton, passed away on Sunday, August 19, 2012, at the Franklin General Hospital Nursing Facility in Hampton.

Dorothy Spangenberg (Muller), was born on September 20, 1924, to Eilard and Gayle (White) Muller on a farm near Sheffield. She graduated from the Chapin High School.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., on Wednesday, August 22, at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Hampton, with the Rev. Karl Bollhagen and Vicar Michael Kearney officiating. Visitation was from 4-7:00 p.m., on Tuesday, August 21, at the Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home, Hampton. Burial was in the Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery in rural Hampton.

Dora Neuhaus

Dora E. Neuhaus, 91, of Hampton, passed away on Sunday, August 19, 2012, at the Rehabilitation Center of Hampton.

Funeral services are planned for 1:00 p.m., on Wednesday, August 29, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hampton. Visitation is at St. Paul Lutheran from 11:00 a.m. until the service time on Wednesday. Burial will take place in the Riverside Cemetery in Shell Rock, with the Rev. Steve Winsor, pastor of the St. Paul Lutheran Church, officiating.

Beatrice Bridges, 92, of Hampton and formerly of Plainfield, died on Tuesday, August 21, 2012, at the Franklin General Hospital, Hampton.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, August 25, at the First Baptist Church, Plainfield, with the Rev. Shawn Geer, pastor, presiding. Interment was in the Willow Lawn Cemetery, Plainfield.
