James Riekens

James “Jim” A. Riekens, 76, of Mason City, died on Tuesday,
March 1, 2011, at the Mercy Medical Center North Iowa
following a short illness.
Services were held on
Saturday, March 5, at the First United Methodist Church in
Mason City. The Major Erickson Funeral Home, Mason City, was
in charge of the arrangements.
James was born on December 10, 1934 in rural Kanawha, to Ed
and Martha (Jurgens) Riekens. He moved to Belmond at age
seven and graduated from the Belmond High School in 1952. He
attended one year at Cornell College in Mount Vernon and
then transferred to Iowa State in Ames. He graduated with a
BS Degree in Dairy Industry in 1956 and then obtained an MS
in Dairy and Food Industry from the University of Wisconsin
(Madison) in 1957. He spent two years in the U.S. Army and
worked with the Quartermaster Food & Container Institute in
Chicago. He worked as a plant supervisor for the Carnation
Company in Waterloo from 1959 until 1963.
Jim married Dorothy Wilimek in Waterloo on February 12,
1961. Jim and Dorothy moved to Clarion in 1963 where Jim
began work for the Wright County Agricultural Stabilization
and Conservation Service as county director. In 1983, he
became the ASCS district director in north central Iowa. He
retired in 1997, at which time he and Dorothy moved to Mason
City.
While in Clarion, Jim served on the library and hospital
boards and served as mayor from 1972 through 1978. He
served in many leadership roles at the United Methodist
Church in Clarion and has been an active member of the First
United Methodist in Mason City. He was an active member of
the north central Iowa chapter of the National Association
of Retired Federal Employees, including being treasurer six
years and president one year.
Jim became a real estate agent for Johnson Real Estate in
1998, for Joyce Schulting Realty in 2002, and for Hildebrand
Real Estate in 2003. He enjoyed volunteering at the KCMR
radio station and spending time with his pets and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Henry.
Jim is survived by his wife, Dorothy; children, Greg of
Edina, Minnesota and Michelle of Greenwood Village,
Colorado; and sister, Gladys Wessels of Klemme.

Susan Halfpop
March 8, 2011
Susan T. Halfpop, 68, died on Thursday, March 3, 2011, at
her home west of Goodell.
Services were held on
Monday, March 7, at the Belmond United Methodist Church,
with Pastor Paddy Druhl officiating. Burial was in the
Belmond Cemetery.
Susan ToNette, the daughter of John and Evelyn (Case) Watne,
was born on August 17, 1942 in Bayard. When she was very
young the family moved to the Klemme and Belmond area. Susan
graduated from the Belmond High School in 1960. Susan
married Leland Halfpop on June 23, 1961 in Belmond. They
lived their entire married life west of Goodell. Susan
worked as a housewife and mother, sewed uniforms for Powers
in Kanawha and cooked at Cattleman’s Steaks and Provisions.
She worked for 18 years at Eaton in Belmond, retiring in
2007.
Susan had many talents and hobbies, but her greatest
treasure was her family. Susan and Leland enjoyed watching
their grandchildren in their activities. Sewing and quilting
was a great pastime. She donated over 60 children’s quilts
for the Twin Cities Shiners Hospital and over 100 other
quilts for family and friends. Gardening, tending flowers
and watching birds kept Susan busy during the warmer months.
She was a member of the Northwest Iowa Grape Growers
Association, North Iowa Wine Club, Iowa Fruit and Vegetable
Growers Association and the Iowa Grape Growers and Wine
Makers Association. She was also active as a 4-H and FFA
mom, in the Trinity Lutheran Ladies Circle and on the Safety
Committee and CARE team at Eaton. She was instrumental in
putting together numerous cook books, including, but were
not limited to, the Goodell Centennial, Eaton EMS and the
Methodist Church. Susan and Leland were currently active in
the United Methodist Church in Goodell.
She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter,
Kenlee Sue Uhlenhopp; one brother-in-law; and three
sisters-in-law.
Susan is survived by her husband; children, Robert (Debra)
of Belmond, Renee (Kirk) Uhlenhopp of Belmond, Rodney
(Sherri) of Garner, Ryan (special friend Kim) of Goodell,
Randy (Tina) of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Rachelle
(Anthony) Halfpop of Eagle Grove; grandchildren, Corey,
Clarissa, Chelsey, Cheri, Kyle, Karter, Jamie, Jesse,
Britany, Breana, Brylee, Kayla, Kaitlyn, Kolten and Kaden;
great-grandchildren, Jayce, Nicholas, Nevaeh and Jallen;
siblings, Marcia Kolbeck of Ashton, Jon Watne, Phebe
(Charles) Soma and Theodore Watne, all of Belmond, Norma
(Jerry) McNertney of Nevada and Craig Watne of Belmond.

Reba Miller

Reba M. Miller, 90, of Belmond, died on Friday, March 4,
2011, at the Belmond Medical Center.
Services were held on
Monday, March 7, at the Trinity Lutheran Church with burial
in the Belmond Cemetery. The Andrews Funeral Home was in
charge of the arrangements.
Reba Mae Smedley, the daughter of Milton and Louisa (Curtis)
Smedley, was born on May 30, 1920, on her parents farm near
Rockwell. She attended country school through the 8th grade
and graduated from the Mason City High school in 1937.
During her high school years she did housekeeping and cared
for various families in the Mason City area in return for
room and board. Reba married Andrew “Andy” James Miller on
December 24, 1938, at the First Christian Church in Mason
City. Andy drove trucks for a time until they moved to a
farm northwest of Belmond. Reba and Andy farmed together and
began their family of four children.
The couple rented from Harold Simerson until 1958 when they
moved to Missouri for two years. Returning to Belmond in
1960, Andy started an auctioneering business and became
co-owner of the Belmond Sales Pavilion and he operated a
Pioneer Seed dealership. Reba played an integral role in all
of these businesses, assisting with the bookkeeping and
acting as cashier in Andy's auction business.
Reba relished her roles as a loving wife and life partner to
Andy, a nurturing mother and proud grandmother. She received
great joy and satisfaction in providing a home for her
family and following all the activities and accomplishments
of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Reba
had a life-long faith that began in her early childhood when
she was baptized in the Church of Christ in Mason City. For
30 years she and Andy were active members of the Clarion
Church of Christ. They attended Trinity Lutheran Church in
Belmond after they moved into town.
Reba was a past member of the Rebecca Lodge and the Belmond
Hospital Auxiliary. She was involved with the Belmond Area
Arts Council and delivering Meals on Wheels with Andy. The
couple had also given time as lab couriers and patient
transporters to Mercy Medical Center in Mason City. Reba
loved to work with her hands, creating many beautiful
afghans, doilies and table cloths for her family. She was an
excellent cook and loved to bake goodies for her family and
friends. She was an avid reader, enjoying fiction and
non-fiction. She loved to work crosswords, spent time
watching game shows and was an avid fan of the Minnesota
Twins. Family and friends will remember her gentle nature,
welcoming personality and warm, friendly smile.
Reba was preceded in death by her parents: husband, Andrew
on October 7, 2000; sisters, Alice Cogill, Lettie Bucalstein
and Ruth Auck; brothers, Vernon, Arthur, Joseph and Clyde
Smedley; two nieces; three nephews; and one great-nephew.
Her memory will be cherished by her children, Iola (Richard)
Brandow of Moberly, Missouri, Ilene (Roy) Bingaman of
Slater, Missouri, Jim (Nancy) Miller of Nevada, Iowa and Sue
(David) Nelson of Belmond; 14 grandchildren; 18
great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren;
sisters-in-law, Mildred Miller of Moberly and Donna (D.L.)
Snyder of Yuma, Arizona.

Alice Vest

Alice Vest, 97, of Goldfield, died on Saturday, March 5,
2011, at the Wright Medical Center in Clarion.
Services were held on
Friday, March 11, at the United Presbyterian Church in
Goldfield. A private family burial was held in the Glenwood
Cemetery in Goldfield.
Alice Grace, the daughter of Henry and Mary (Peterson)
Harvey, was born on the family farm west of Goldfield in
Humboldt County, on November 7, 1913. She attended the Lake
No.7 rural school for eight years and graduated from the
Goldfield High School in 1931. She was active in the
Goldfield Baptist Church, teaching Sunday School and singing
in the choir. She was also active in 4-H and the Evergreen
Sporting Association. On November 27, 1937, Alice married
Dr. Don Vest in Norfolk, Nebraska. They lived in
Gainesville, Florida, Fort Moultrie, South Carolina and
Chapin, Illinois. In August 1941, Dr. Vest was called into
active military service and they lived in Chicago, Illinois,
West Pointe, New York, Stewart Field, Newburgh, New York,
Kansas City, Missouri and the Panama Canal Zone. The couple
returned to the states in January 1946 and settled in
Alexander where they lived for 18 years. They moved to
Goldfield in 1964.
Alice was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, the
Presbyterian Women, American Legion Auxiliary and Oakridge
Recreation.
She was preceded in death by her husband; infant sister,
Charlotte Harvey; brothers, Howard and Merle Harvey; and
sister, Helen Bjorklund.
Survivors include her sister, Marvyl Reichter of Goldfield;
sister-in-law, Lois Saccento of Goldfield; 11 nieces and
nephews; and numerous great-nieces and nephews.

Donald Madison

Donald H. Madison, 69, of Belmond, died on Sunday, March 6,
2011, at the Rehabilitation Center of Belmond.
Services were held on
Thursday, March 10, at the Dugger Funeral Home with Pastor
Jim Harbaugh officiating.
Donald Herman, the son of Carlton H. and Frieda H. Deling
Madison, was born on July 29, 1941 in Fremont, Minnesota. He
grew up in the Belmond and Goodell area and graduated from
the Belmond High School in 1960. Don worked for various
north Iowa employers, including Trigg’s Manufacturing and at
the chicken plant in Goodell. He worked several years at the
EDS plant in Clarion before retirement. Donald married
Hildegard Wehner Pals on August 11, 1984. They made their
home in Belmond. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping.
Donald most enjoyed his time spent with Hilda surrounded by
family.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Don is survived by his wife; children, Donald (Marlene)
Andreasen of Georgia, Mary (Darrell) Hinderaaker of Lake
Mills, Petra (Wayne) Lamfers of Belmond, Nanci (David) Borg
of Missouri Valley and Neal (Julie) Pals of Clear Lake;
grandchildren, Ashley, Austin, Rob, Derek, Alyssa, McKenzie,
Megan, Randy, Andrew, Larry and Travis; great-grandchildren,
Colten, Keaton, Remington, Kaden, Andrew, Avery, Alec,
Landen, Michael and Leighton; and brothers, Gerald of
Goodell and Robert of Eagle Grove.

Marcella Flaten
March 15, 2011
Marcella "Marcy" Flaten, 84, of Klemme, died on Tuesday,
March 8, 2011, at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital in
Britt, after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.
Services were held on
March 11, at the Immanuel Reformed United Church of Christ
in Klemme, with Pastor Donna Buckman officiating. Burial was
in the Ell Township Cemetery, Klemme.
Marcella Eugene was born in Trail County, North Dakota, to
Amanda (Norgaard) and Lewis Sletten on March 24, 1926. She
received her education in the rural schools of North Dakota,
was bi-lingual, and was proud of her Norwegian heritage.
Marcella was baptized and confirmed at the Little Forks
Church in Hatton, North Dalpta. On June 9, 1943, she wed
Ardell Flaten and became a prairie farmer’s wife. Four
children were born. The family moved to Iowa in 1959, first
to Rudd and then Klemme in 1961.
Of the jobs Marcy had throughout her life, the fondest
memories were of the Triangle Cafe, accounting for Dad with
Flaten Construction, and her many children during her child
care career of 32 years. Marcella also worked at Bueller's
Cafe in Mason City, Korleski's Grocery in Klemme, and at the
Klemme Golf Course. She was a great lefse maker. Before
passing away she handed down her recipes to her
granddaughter. She also loved to play the piano and yodel. A
good garage sale, picnics with family at Indian Lake and
canning time in the fall were some of her most favorite
things to do and share with others.
Marcella was preceded in death by her parents; five sisters;
and two brothers.
She is survived by her husband, Ardell; children, Richard of
Klemme, Roger (Barb) of Britt, Susan (George) Johnson of
Mason City and Wayne (Jan) of Garner; sisters, Marion and
Dorthy; brothers, Marvin, Elroy and Franklin; 13
grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.

Dorothy Dow

Dorothy A. Dow, 82, of Iowa Falls, died on Tuesday, March 8,
2011.
Services were held on
Friday, March 11, with burial in the Evergreen Cemetery,
Clarion.
Dorothy Arlene was born near Belmond on August 8, 1928, to
Richard Alan and Hallie Starr Thomas Parker. She attended
Belmond Schools. She married Warren Curtis Weismann in 1946
in Coulter. They had five children. He died in 1964 and
Dorothy married Russell Paul Dow, Sr. in 1975.
She was preceded in death by her husbands; sister, Marjorie
Gabrielson; and brothers, Bernard and Richard Parker.
Survivors include her children; stepchildren; and sister,
Patricia Edgerton of Iowa Falls.

Bernice Bohning
March 15, 2011
Bernice Bohning, 95, of Belmond, died on Saturday, March 12,
2011, at the Cedar Health in Charles City.
Services will be held at
11:00 a.m., on Thursday, March 17, at the Belmond United
Methodist Church, with Pastor Mike Druhl officiating. Burial
will be in the Belmond Cemetery. Visitation will be on
Wednesday, from 4-6:00 p.m., at the Dugger Funeral Home and
will continue one hour prior to the services at the church.
The family suggests memorials to the United Methodist Church
or Hospice of New Hampton.
Bernice was born on May 2, 1915, on an 80-acre farm three
and one-half miles west of Belmond. She was the youngest of
five children (one of whom died in infancy) born to Frank J.
and Cora (Harvey) Davenport. Bernice and her older siblings,
Ammon, Beatrice and Bernard attended country school
together. She graduated from the Belmond High School in
1933. Bernice married Edward Alfred Bohning, son of Simon
and Carrie (Steenblock) Bohning, on February 11, 1934 in
Belmond, where they raised their family of three girls, Nyle,
Karen and Alta.
Bernice spent the first years of their marriage raising her
family and helping on the farm. In 1955, she was employed at
Hensel Bros., working in the office and candling eggs. Later
she worked for seven years as a nurse’s aide at the Belmond
Community Hospital. About 1966 she began working as a
bookkeeper at the Chevrolet garage, which became her dream
come true. She enjoyed this job so much that retiring was
difficult. She retired in 1990 at age 75. Bernice was very
fond of owners Joe and Steve McLaughlin and continued to
make goodies for the garage’s coffee break every Friday for
many years.
Bernice enjoyed cooking, reading, playing cards, using the
computer and spending time with her family. She had a young
spirit, great sense of humor and was loved by all of her
children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Her husband Ed had a heart attack at the age of 60, after
which they moved into town. In 1981, they joined 13 others
to build a private condo addition to the Belmond Community
Apartment. Ed died January 31, 1996 from complications of
hip surgery.
She was also preceded in death by her two brothers, one
sister and great-grandchild, Zachary Draisey.
Bernice is survived by her daughters, Nyle (Bradley) Jenison
of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida, Karen (Don) Kusian of Belmond
and Alta (Randall) Barkema of Charles City; grandchildren,
Nyla (Paul) Schaefer of Belmond, Kevin (MaryAnn) Jenison of
Florida, Brad Jenison of Florida, Donita (Roger) Anders of
Marshalltown, Tami Kusian of West Des Moines, Kim (Perri)
Draisey of Keota, Todd (Renee) Barkema of Monticello and
Kevin (Gayle) Barkema of Conrad; seventeen
great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Therron Miller

Therron Alan Miller, 45, of Latimer, died on Sunday, March
20, 2011.
Funeral services will be
held on Friday, March 25, at the Zion Reformed Church in
rural Sheffield. Visitation will be held on Thursday, from
4-8:00 p.m., at the church.
Therron was born on February 28, 1966 in Belmond, to Arnold
Verne and Marie Christina (Nueberger) Miller. He graduated
from the CAL Community School in 1984. He married Marsha
Nelson on June 13, 1992.
He was preceded in death by his father, Arnold; and
step-father, Paul.
He is survived by his wife, Marsha; son, Clayton; daughter,
Karter; son, Blake; mother, Marie Jurgens; brothers, James
and Robert; and sister, Kristy Oswald.

Avis Provorse

Avis J. Provorse, 78, died on Sunday, March 20, 2011, at the
Lantern Park Nursing and Rehab Center in Coralville.
A memorial service will be
held at the St. Olaf Lutheran Church, rural Belmond, at noon
on Saturday, April 2. Interment will follow in the church
cemetery.
Avis Jean was born on April 1, 1932 in Kanawha, the daughter
of Joseph and Anna Toftey. She grew up on a nearby farm with
her two older brothers and graduated from the Kanawha High
School. In 1953, Avis received her nursing degree from the
University of Iowa. She married Bob Provorse in 1954 and
they lived in Mt. Vernon briefly before returning to work
the family farm. During those years Avis and Bob had three
sons. They moved to Iowa City in 1964, so that Bob could
complete graduate school.
In 1965, the family made its home in Sioux City, where Bob
taught high school and coached several sports. They had a
fourth son. Avis worked as a nurse at St. Luke’s Hospital
and at Marion Health in a drug rehabilitation program.
Besides being a homemaker, Avis was an active community
volunteer and belonged to book club and P.E.O. She was very
involved at the St. John Lutheran Church and also First
Lutheran Church. For many years she and Bob enjoyed spending
their Christmas holidays in the Colorado mountains with
family. Bob died in 2003. Avis moved to Iowa City in 2010 to
be near her son and his family.
A caring and unselfish person, Avis was a follower of her
Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She loved sunshine, painting,
flowers, good friends and most of all, her family. And they
loved her.
Preceding her in death were her husband; and brothers, Abner
and Bernard Toftey.
Survivors include sons, Bob (Jane) of Salida, Colorado,
Scott (Cindy) of Dillon, Colorado, Bradd (Kasey) of Frisco,
Colorado and Jay (Michelle) of Iowa City; and grandchildren,
Joe, Katie (Pena), Ellen, Owen, Sam, Marlo, Lohman, Avery
and Jameson Provorse.

Zona Whitten

Zona (Weld) Whitten, 96, formerly of
Rowan, died on Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at the
Rehabilitation Center of Belmond.
Services will be held on
Saturday, April 16, at 11:00 a.m., at the United Church of
Rowan. The family will be present at the church beginning at
10:00 a.m., to greet family and friends. Inurnment will take
place in the Graceland Cemetery near Rowan. A luncheon and
time of fellowship will follow the service in the church
basement. The Andrews Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
Zona was born at home in Grant Township, Wright County, on
January 15, 1915. She grew up on farms in Wright County and
in Minnesota where she especially loved riding horses. She
worked for her room and board in Clarion so she could attend
the Clarion High School where she graduated in 1933. After
working as a waitress at the Hotel Moore, she and Kenneth
Whitten were married on September 1, 1935. They farmed most
of their lives around Rowan. In 1943, with their two
daughters, the family moved to Vancouver, Washington, where
both Kenneth and Zona worked in the Kaiser Shipyards for
nine months. They returned to the Whitten family farm where
they lived until retirement in 1973.
Zona was active as a Girl
Scout Leader, 4-H Leader, and member of the Congregational
Church, where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir
for many years. When her daughters went to college, she
worked at P&G Grocery and Dougherty Jewelry in Belmond. Upon
retirement in 1974, they moved to Rowan and spent nine
winters in Apache Junction, Arizona.
After Kenneth had a severe stroke, Zona cared for him at
their apartment in Rowan for seven years. After his death in
1995, she was able to enjoy traveling across the country and
visit her grandchildren in Louisiana, Ohio, Illinois and
Oregon, and played lots of cards, her favorite past time.
Zona lived the last four years in the Belmond Community
Apartments.
Survivors include her daughters Donna Dawn Sturdivant
(Roland) of Metairie, LA and Madeline Kay McCulley (Roger)
of Ramsey, Minnesota; niece, Wilma (Larry) Aldrich of Rowan;
and grandchildren, Tony, Michael (Fannie) and Nick (Rose
Marie) Vaughn, Scott McCulley (Cass Kovel) and Tonya
McCulley.

Mary Ziller
March 29, 2011
Mary J. Ziller, 74, of Belmond, died on Friday, March 25,
2011, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason
City.
A Mass of Christian Burial
will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Wednesday, March 30, at the
St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Belmond. Burial will
take place in the St Francis Cemetery near Belmond.
Visitation will be held from 5-8:00 p.m., on Tuesday, March
29, at the Dugger Funeral Home in Belmond. There will be no
viewing at the church Wednesday. A Parrish Rosary will be
held on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. and a Scriptural Wake Service
with a time of sharing at 6:30 p.m.
Mary Jean was born on July 22, 1936 in Dougherty, to Glen
and Fran (Cunningham) Klatt. She attended various country
schools, graduating in 1954 from the St. Joseph High School
in Mason City. She then attended Hamilton Business College
and obtained a job working with Standard Oil Company in
Mason City and later in Des Moines. In February 1959, she
wed the love of her life, Lawrence (Joe) Ziller.
Mary loved reading,
collecting recipes, cooking and baking. A family favorite
was Mom’s Brownies. Some of Mary’s favorite things were
enjoying nature, listening to the birds and the smell of
lilacs and other flowers in the spring. She especially
enjoyed making the holidays special for her family,
particularly Thanksgiving and Christmas. She enjoyed
attending plays, concerts and her grandchildren’s various
activities. Her greatest joy in life was her children and
grandchildren.
She was a long-time member of the St Francis Xavier Catholic
Church and belonged to the Rosary Society.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Jerry
Klatt.
Mary is survived by her husband, Joe Ziller of Belmond;
children, Lori (Andrew) Watson of Portland, Oregon, Linda
(Jeff) Stewart of Iowa City, Jean Potthoff of Clive, Robert
(Nickie) Ziller of Rochester, Minnesota and Steve Ziller of
Belmond; grandchildren, Malaika Watson, Jared, Ryan and
Rachel Stewart, Austin Potthoff, Andrew, Matthew and Claire
Ziller and Sloan Ziller; brother, Bob (Phyllis) Klatt of
Eagan, Minnesota; and sister, Margaret (Jack) Lang of Mason
City.

Dorothy Waddington

Dorothy Waddington, 96, died on Wednesday, March 30, 2011,
at the Rehabilitation Center of Belmond. She was born on
November 21, 1914 in George, the daughter of Peter and
Gertrude Barendregt.
Visitation will be held on
Friday, April 22, from 5-7:00 p.m., at the Andrews Funeral
Home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim; sister,
Elizabeth Naplolitano; and brother, Cornelius Barendregt.
She is survived by son, Neal Waddington; grandchildren, Ryan
Waddington and Angela Selseth; and seven
great-grandchildren.

Marian Kuper

Marian L. Kuper, 91, of Belmond, died on Thursday, March 31,
2011, at the Wright Medical Center in Clarion.
A Mass of Christian Burial
was held on Tuesday, April 5, at the St. Francis Xavier
Catholic Church in Belmond. Burial was in the church
cemetery.
Marian Lucille, the daughter of Ira J. and Mary Bray
Studebaker, was born on February 23, 1920, on a farm south
of Belmond. She grew up in Belmond and graduated from the
Belmond High School in 1938. She taught in country schools
for seven and a half years. Marian worked at Decker and Sons
in Mason City and General Mills in Belmond. She was a
devoted nurse’s aide at the Belmond Community Hospital for
30 years before retiring.
Marian married Paul D. “Tex” Lee in October 1942. He died in
1966. Marian married Harold E. Kuper in 1983. He died in
1992.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother,
Marian always made family time special. Her door was always
open and she always had baked goods to offer anyone who
stopped by. She is remembered for her love of family and
friends, coffee time and bingo. She served many years as a
polling site official in Belmond. Marian was also a devoted,
life-long member of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
She was active in the Catholic Daughters and in preparing
meals for funerals and various other activities at the
church. She resided at Belle Haven Assisted Living for the
last year and a half, enjoying friends and the staff.
She was preceded in death by her husbands; sons, Robert and
Richard Lee; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Lee; three sisters; and
two brothers.
Marian is survived by her children, Dixie (Larry) Lamoreux
of Mason City, Diane Reasoner of Decatur, Illinois, Mary Lee
of Cedar Rapids, Jim (Sue) Lee of Prior Lake, Minnesota and
Ginger (Mark) Stille of Goodell; daughter-in-law, Pat Lee of
Mason City; thirteen grandchildren; many
great-grandchildren; and sister, Virginia Studebaker of
Belmond.
