GLADYS BIRD VOKATY

CHARLES CITY - Gladys Alberta McFarland Bird Vokaty, 85, of 95 N. Cedar Terrace, died Monday (April 9, 2001) at the Ninth Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City.

The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Fullerton Hage Funeral Home, 401 Blunt St. in Charles City, with the Rev. Stanley Hayek officiating. A luncheon will follow at the VFW. Burial will be in the Little Cedar Cemetery in Little Cedar.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Fullerton Hage Funeral Home, with the family present from 6 to 9 p.m. There will be a scripture service at 7:30 p.m. led by Sister Jennifer Rausch.

JIM A. YEAKEL

KANAWHA - Jim A. Yeakel, 54, of Kanawha, died Monday (April 9, 2001) at the Kanawha Community Home.

The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Kanawha Lutheran Church in Kanawha with the Rev. Dr. William H. Breen, interim pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Amsterdam Township Cemetery in Kanawha, with the Kanawha American Legion conducting military graveside services.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Ewing Dugger Funeral Home in Kanawha and one hour prior to services at the church.

MILDRED E. ERICHSEN

ROCKWELL - Mildred E. Erichsen, 86, of Rockwell, died Monday (April 9, 2001) at the Rockwell Care Center.

The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., with Pastor Alan Sheldon, with the Church of Christ, officiating. Interment will be in Friends Cemetery in Iowa Falls.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Major Erickson Funeral Home and on Thursday until time of services.

Memorials may be given to the Church of Christ.

Mildred was born June 9, 1914, in East Moline, Ill., the daughter of George L. Shaver and Elvena I. (Rimmers) Shaver. She attended Hampton Schools and worked at Zanios Produce before her marriage.

She married George F. Erichsen on Oct. 22, 1957, in Freeborn, Minn.

Mildred and her husband were longtime residents of Mason City where she was a homemaker.

She was a member of the Church of Christ, Royal Neighbors and the Ladies Mission-Age Wise.

Mildred is survived by a stepson, Merrill E. Erichsen, of Arlington, Va.; stepgrandson, George A. Erichsen, of Arlington, Va.; two stepgreat-grandchildren, Meril and Marney; one sister, Delores Miller, of Plymouth; and many nieces and nephews.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters and nephew, Keith Perkins.

FRANCES CHAMBERS

COLWELL - Frances (Mrs. James Sr.) Chambers, 83, of 3206 Fourth St., died Tuesday (April 10, 2001) at the Colonial Manor in Elma.

The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the United Church of Christ in Colwell, with Pastor Gale Richards officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Charles City.

Visitation will be held from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Hauser Funeral Home, 1205 S. Main St., with the family greeting friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church.

ELDEN PYLE

CHARLES CITY - Elden Pyle, 82, of 1906 Owen St., died Monday (April 9, 2001) at the Floyd County Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Hauser Funeral Home, 1205 S. Main St. in Charles City, with the Rev. Dianne Christopher, senior pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyside Memory Gardens in rural Charles City, with the Charles City Ceremonial Unit conducting military honors.

Visitation will be held from 3 to 9 p.m. today at the Hauser Funeral Home with the family greeting friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. There will be additional visitation from 9 a.m. until time of services on Thursday.
