George L. Scholl

ROCKWELL 



George L. Scholl, the oldest Rockwell resident, age 101, died

Thursday (Sept. 12, 1996) at the Rockwell Care Center.



Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. today at Sacred

Heart Catholic Church with Father Stephen Meyer officiating.



Interment will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery where

Military Rites will be conducted by the Gallagher Post of the

American Legion. Fullerton Funeral Home of Rockwell is in charge

of arrangements.



George was born Dec. 25, 1884, the son of Frank and Catherine

(Funk) Scholl in Rockwell.  He graduated from country school

and then served his country in the Army during World War I. He

served from 1918 to 1919 in France. Following his honorary discharge,

he attended Iowa State College Mechanics School in 1921. He then

worked as a mechanic in Rockwell where he was a lifetime resident.

George was united in marriage to his wife, Barbara Kobliska,

on June 23, 1925, in Alta Vista. He was a member of Sacred Heart

Catholic Church, Gallagher Post #208 of the American Legion,

Knights of Columbus Council #1006, the Rockwell Senior Citizens

and the World War I Veterans.  He also spent many hours playing

pinochle, 500 and euchre as well as baking pies and cookies.



George is survived by three daughters, Barbara, and her husband,

Ray Thuel, of Johnstown, Pa., Doris, and her husband, Dale Patterson,

of Lakota, and Leona, and her husband, John Bonner, of Swaledale;

one son, Harold, and his wife, Loretta Scholl, of Covington,

Ky.; one sister, Mary Hogan, of Rockwell; 12 grandchildren and

15 great-grandchildren.



He was preceded in death by his wife in 1970; two sisters, Christine

Rohner and Lucy Smith; and seven brothers, Peter, Albert, Nick,

Art, Bill, Roy and Francis.

Juanita J. Riser

MASON CITY 



Juanita J. Riser, 71, of 331 28th Street S.W., died Friday (Sept.

13, 1996) at Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit.



Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Our Saviour's

Lutheran Church, 2502 S. Jefferson Ave., with the Rev. Joel Dahlen

officiating. Burial will be in the Grundy Center Cemetery in

Grundy Center.



There will be a Moose service held at 6 p.m. today at Major

Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave.



Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral

home and one hour prior to the funeral at the church on Tuesday.



Memorials may be given to the Juanita J. Riser Memorial Fund.



Juanita J. Riser was born Oct. 11, 1924, the daughter of Hans

Henry and Goldie (Squibb) Smith in Scranton. Juanita graduated

from Mason City High School in 1943. She then attended college

in Ohio before returning back to Mason City where she worked

for the Western Union Telegraph Office and Coca-Cola Bottlers.

Juanita also worked in the meat department at Hy-Vee West for

15 years, retiring in 1984. Juanita was married to Earldon Kenneth

Riser in 1944 in Mason City. Juanita enjoyed bowling, golfing,

watching football and the Hawkeyes, traveling and her friends.



Juanita was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, V.F.W.

and the Moose Lodge.



Survivors include two sons, Tom Riser, and his wife, Liz, of

Mason City, and Keith Riser of Mason City; four grandchildren,

Jeff Riser, and special friend, Cindy Richardson, of Mason City,

Angie Riser of Mason City, Ty Riser and special friend, Penny

Gordon, of Mason City, Ronnie Riser Jr. of Mason City; five great

grandchildren, Johnny, Austin, Ashley, Abbie and Dustina; three

sisters, Doris Leewright of Mason City, Lila Mathews of Mason

City, and Sharon McBride and husband, George, of Mason City;

two brothers, Vernon Smith and wife, Bernedette, of Neuvo, Calif.,

and Gerald Smith and wife, Jackie, of Mason City; and several

nieces and nephews.



She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son and grandson

and one sister.

James W. Krause

RUDD 



James W. Krause, 69, of 208 Floyd St., died Saturday (Sept.

14, 1996) at North Iowa Mercy Health Center East Campus in Mason

City.



Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Rudd

United Methodist Church, 611 6th St., with the Rev. Deborah Stowers

officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.



Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Sheckler Colonial

Chapel, 114 N. Hawkeye, Nora Springs, and one hour prior to the

services at the church on Tuesday.



James W. Krause was born Jan. 22, 1927, in Charles City, son

of Wesley and Lottie (Dowd) Krause. He married Norma Stalker

on Jan. 22, 1945, in Minnesota.



Jim grew up in the Rudd area and graduated from Rudd High School

in 1945. He served in the Army during World War II. He farmed

16 years in the Rudd area and then went into partnership in the

Rudd Lumber and Hardware Store for many years. For the past few

years, he bought and sold antiques through his business known

as ``Jim's Junk.''



Jim enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. He was an avid sports

fan and he enjoyed going to the dog races. Jim loved spending

time with his grandchildren.



He was a member of Rudd United Methodist Church and the Rudd

American Legion. He served on the Rudd City Council and the Floyd

County Memorial Hospital board. He was a past member of the Lions

Club.



Survivors include his wife, Norma Krause of Rudd; four daughters,

Barbara Braun, and her husband, Jim, of Forest City, Brenda Krause

of Nora Springs, Becky Michels, and her husband, Gary, of LeSueur,

Minn., and Bonny Derr, and her husband, Harlan, of Rudd; seven

grandchildren, Tamara Barnard and her husband, Randy, of New

Virginia, Stacy Braun of Omaha, Neb., Michelle Braun of Cedar

Falls, Jessica and Tricia Michels, both of LeSueur, Minn., and

Christopher and Travis Derr, both of Rudd; one brother, Roger

Krause, and his wife, Vera, of Rockford; one sister, Vivian Orr,

and her husband, Morris, of Glenwood, Minn.; and many nieces

and nephews.



He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Ruth

Burlingham.

Mr. Fay Franklin Strahorn

NEWPORT NEWS, Va.



Mr. Fay Franklin Strahorn, 79, died Friday (Sept. 13, 1996).

He was a native of Rockwell, Iowa, and had been a Peninsula resident

for 37 years.



The funeral service will be held today at 11 a.m. at First United

Methodist Church, 110 East Queen St., Hampton, Va. A burial service

will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park.

East Queen Street, Hampton, Va. 23669.



Mr. Strahorn was self employed in the heating and cooling business

and had retired in 1987. He was a member of First United Methodist

Church and Wesley Bible Class.  He was also a member of the Hampton

Kiwana's Club and Monitor Masonic Lodge. Mr. Strahorn served

in the Navy during World War II.



He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Susan Jean Strahorn;

one daughter, Susan Hutto Godley and preceded in death by two

sons, Steve Robert Strahorn and Mark Avery Strahorn.  He is also

survived by two daughters-in-law, Pamela Strahorn Joyner and

Pamela Mauld Strahorn; a son-in-law, Kenneth Wayne Godley; two

brothers-in-law, E. Barton Gear and Melton Gear; six grandchildren

and four great grandchildren.

Roscoe F. Krahenbuhl

OSAGE 



Roscoe F. Krahenbuhl, 80, of Hansell, formerly of Osage, died

Sunday (Sept. 15, 1996) at the Riverside Chautauqua Guest Home

in Charles City.



Memorial services will be held at a later date at the First

Baptist Church in Osage.  There will be no visitation. The body

was cremated. The Champion Funeral Home of Osage is in charge

of the arrangements.



Those wishing the give memorials are asked to make donations

to your favorite charity.



Roscoe was born Nov. 14, 1915, in West Brooklyn, Ill., the son

of Fred and Margaret (Kehm) Krahenbuhl. He attended school in

St. Ansgar and graduated from St. Ansgar High School in 1933.

He married Mary Ann Michels on Dec. 15, 1935. They were the parents

of four sons: Lynn, Larry, Russell and Fred Krahenbuhl. Mary

Ann passed away May 4, 1946.



He then married Mabel Torney on Jan. 1, 1947. They are the parents

of four boys and two girls: Allan, Martin, Charles, Crystal,

Roscoe J. and Cindy. He lived in Iowa, Wisconsin, Minnesota and

Arkansas. While living in these states, he was a farmer, truck

driver and a carpenter and was a resort caretaker in Minnesota.

He was a service station operator in Plymouth and was a school

bus driver for North Central Schools in Manly. He was a member

of the Lions Club in Plymouth.



Survivors include his wife, Mabel Krahenbuhl of Hansell; two

daughters, Crystal Crosby, and her husband, David, of Virginia

Beach, Va., and Cindy Vimpany, and her husband, Douglas, of Camarillo,

Calif.; eight sons, Lynn Krahenbuhl of New Haven, Larry Krahenbuhl,

and wife, Gladys, of Osage, Russell Krahenbuhl, and wife, Barbara,

of Osage, Fred Krahenbuhl of Wisconsin, Allan Krahenbuhl of Northwood,

Martin Krahenbuhl of Elma, Charles Krahenbuhl, and wife, Carol,

of Colfax, Wash., and Roscoe J. Krahenbuhl, and wife, Vickie,

of Mason City; one sister, Elvia Wirth of Elm Grove, Wis.; 30

grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.



He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Mary Ann;

one granddaughter, Gina; and one grandson, Martin, Jr.

and wife, Charlotte Paton, of San Antonio, Texas; one brother,

Andrew Paton, of Houston, Texas; four grandchildren and four

great grandchildren.

Lutheran Church of Carpenter, with Mrs. Johnson's grandson, the

Rev. Douglas J. Johnson, and the Rev. Kathryn E. Larson, officiating.

Burial will be in Newberg Township Cemetery of Carpenter.



Visitation will be held from 4:30-7:30 p.m. tonight at Conner

Colonial Chapel, 99 11th St. S., in Northwood, where a prayer

service will be held at 7 p.m.



Amanda M. Johnson was born Nov. 3, 1906, in Winnebago County.



She is survived by two sons: Donald K. Johnson of Northwood,

and Dennis ``Tiny'' Johnson of Carpenter; 10 grandchildren; 30

great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Tillie Weseman of Northwood;

Elnora Elwood of Algona and Edith Neuman of Lakota.



Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her parents, husband,

four brothers and two sisters.

Gregory Clay, 43, a resident of 706 N. Johnson St., died Saturday

(Sept. 14, 1996) at his home of complications of cancer.



Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Hauser

Funeral Home with the Rev. A.C. Wegner, Jr., pastor of the Faith

Bible Chapel, officiating. Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery

in Marble Rock. Military honors will be conducted at the graveside

by the Charles City Ceremonial Unit.



Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home from noon to 9 p.m.

Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until service time on Wednesday.



Gregory Allen Clay was born Oct. 15, 1952, at Charles City.



Survivors include his wife, Linda ``Terri'' Munn of Charles

City; three stepsons, Murl Burkhardt, Jamie Lawless and Daniel

Munn III, all of Charles City; a stepdaughter, Kari Herman of

Charles City; five brothers, Roger Clay of Olympia, Wash., David

George Kramer

MASON CITY 



George Kramer, 88, of 1000 N. Eisenhower Ave. died Saturday

(Sept. 14, 1996) at the IOOF Home.



Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Grace

United Methodist Church, 200 14th St. N.W., with the Rev. Herbert

Shafer officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery,

Swaledale.



Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Major Erickson

Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., and one hour prior to

services at the church.



Memorials may be given to the George Kramer Memorial Fund in

his memory.



George Kramer was born Feb. 17, 1908, in Holland, the son of

Jake and Gertrude (Klap) Kramer.



The Kramer family immigrated to the United States  when George

was 5 years old and settled in the Rockwell area.



George attended school in Rockwell.



He married Lulu Gast on May 28, 1935, at Grand Rapids, Mich.



The Kramers lived in Waukee for 45 years. During that time,

George served as manager of the Waukee Co-op Elevator for 26

years, was director of Farmland Industries for eight years, served

on the town council and was mayor of Waukee for six years.



The Kramers moved to Hampton where they lived three years and

in 1992 moved to Mason City.



George was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, the Lions

Club and served on the board of directors at the Boone Valley

Co-op Soybean Processing Plant.



Survivors include his wife, Lulu V. Kramer of Mason City; son,

Richard Kramer and his wife, Sharon, of Livermore, Calif.; son,

Donald Kramer and his wife, Marianne of Portland, Ore.; daughter,

Marilyn Sassman and her husband, Ron, of Longwood, Fla.; grandchildren,

Steven Kramer and wife, Kelly; Scott, Stephanie and Kelly Kramer;

sister, Alfina Jones and her husband, Leo, of Mason City; brother,

Jake Kramer and his wife, Arlene, of S. San Francisco, Calif.;

sister, Dena Colby and her husband, John, of Mason City; brother,

Ralph Kramer and his wife, Reuberta, of Sheffield; brother, Pete

Kramer and his wife, Beatrice, of Hampton; brother, Paul Kramer

and his wife, Margaret, of Los Angeles, Calif.; sister, Dorothy

Deam of Mason City; brother, Marvin Kramer and his wife, Marlys,

of Council Grove, Kan.; sister, Grace Faber of Mason City; and

many nieces and nephews.



He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Chris Kramer;

a brother, Raymond, in infancy; and two sisters, Rose  May and

Gertrude Rule.

Donald Charles Flint, 73, of Hampton, died Monday (Sept. 16,

1996) at the Hampton Care Center.



Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. today at the Sietsema-Vogel

Funeral Home, with the Rev. Larry McCann officiating. Burial

will be in the Hampton Cemetery with military rites provided

by the V.F.W. Post #5227 and the American Legion Post #183.



Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of services today

at the funeral home.



Donald Flint was born Nov. 24, 1922,in Humboldt.



Survivors include one brother, David Flint of Hampton; and one

sister, Marian Dregseth of Tuscon, Ariz.



He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

Alice Gertrude Wright

KANAWHA



Alice Gertrude Wright, 78, of Kanawha, died Sunday (Sept.

15, 1996) at the Kanawha Community Home.



Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the

United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Matthew Miller officiating.

Burial will be in Amsterdam Township Cemetery.



Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. today at the Ewing-Dugger

Funeral Home, and one hour prior to services at the church.



Alice Gertrude Wright was born Jan. 16, 1918, in Kanawha.



Survivors include  one daughter, Glenda Healy of North Las Vegas,

Nev.; three sons, Mickey Tague of Las Vegas, Nev.; LeRoy Tague

of Stockton, Calif., and Jan Raber of Kanawha; 12 grandchildren;

20 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Cecil Graeber of Kanawha.



She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and one

great-granddaughter.

CHARLES CITY 



Leona Chandler, 80, of 902 10th Ave., died Sunday (Sept. 15,

1996) in a automobile accident near Osage.



Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. John

Evangelical Lutheran Church, Charles City, with the Rev. Dennis

D. Niezwaag and the Rev. Robert Salge, pastor of the St. Paul

Lutheran Church at Tripoli, officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyside

Memory Gardens near Charles City.



Visitation will be held from noon to 9 p.m. today at the Hauser

Funeral Home, 1205 S. Main St., and one hour prior to services

at the church on Wednesday.



Leona Emmaline Trusty Chandler was born April 7, 1916, east

of Ionia in Chickasaw County.



Survivors include three nephews and five nieces.



She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother.

Eva L. Schrage

MARBLE ROCK 



Funeral services for Mrs. Eva L. Schrage, 80, OF 2850 Upper

Greene Road, Marble Rock, will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the First

Presbyterian Church in Greene, with the Rev. Galen Smith officiating.

Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Greene.



Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Reid's Funeral

Chapel, Greene, with a 7:30 p.m. public Scripture service. Visitation

will continue from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday at the funeral chapel,

and one hour prior to services at the church.



Eva Leta Van Raden was born March 27, 1916, in Bennezette Township,

Butler County, the youngest of five children to Manno and Amy

(Rottink) Van Raden and died Sunday (Sept. 15, 1996) at North

Iowa Mercy Health Center East, Mason City, of a heart ailment.



She received her education in the rural Butler County schools

near Greene.



She was united in marriage to Roy Abel Schrage at the Presbyterian

Manse in Greene on Christmas Day 1935. To this union was born

one daughter, Karen.



Roy and Eva started farming in the Greene area, and for the

past 50 years, farmed on the present location south of Marble

Rock.



Eva was actively engaged in helping with the farm work until

her health began to fail her. She had been confined to a wheelchair

for the past five years, but always kept her sense of humor and

tried to help her husband with the household chores and do what

she could.



She had a special talent in sewing, making many of her own clothes.



She enjoyed her life on the farm, and working with the farm

animals and caring for the dogs who came along and stayed.



She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Greene

and a former member of the U.P.W.



Living family members include her husband, Roy, of Marble Rock;

blacksmith shop in Plymouth until the mid-1960s.



Marvin then became a millwright and worked for numerous companies

retiring in 1979.



He enjoyed fishing and woodworking.



Survivors include two sons, Gary D. Faktor and his wife, Jan,

of Mason City, and Bob Faktor and his wife, Kathy, of Thornton;

five grandchildren, Lisa Henschen and her husband, Rick; Doug

Faktor and his wife, Karen; Jeremy Faktor; Bob D. Faktor and

Robin Faktor; one sister, Juanita Cole of Clear Lake; one brother,

LaVerne ``Bud'' Faktor and his wife, Virginia, of Plymouth; and

Mark Emery Cunningham, 28, passed away Sunday (Sept. 8, 1996)

at St. Vincent Hospital in Santa Fe, N.M.



Mark, beloved son of Eldred J. and Judith E. Biggs Cunningham,

was born March 23, 1968, at the Hamilton County Hospital, Webster

City.



He attended grade school at Hilltop School in Webster City and

finished his schooling in Alden, where he graduated in the top

of his class.



Mark was very active in his church, Immanuel Memorial UCC of

Alden.



He enjoyed art and music. Mark was full of life; he was a very

caring and loving person to all he met.



Mark is survived by his mother, Judy Nieman and her husband,

Gary, of Britt; his father, E.J. Cunningham and his wife, Carolyn,

of Alden; one sister, Tanya Cunningham of Albuquerue, N.M.; a

nephew, Ryan Cunningham of Albuquerque, N.M.; his grandmother,

Charlotte Eulalia Cunningham of Belmond; and many close and special

friends.



He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Marvin E. and

Betty L. Biggs of Webster City; Eldred Cunningham of Hubbard;

and one cousin, Heather Moore of Fort Dodge.



A private family service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept.

21, 1996, at the Cunningham family acreage in Hubbard (Sherman).

Dean Terrill Carlson, son of Ted and Dorothy Carlson, was born

on Jan. 30, 1932, in Albert Lea, Minn. He died Sept. 17, 1996,

at the age of 64.



He graduated from St. Ansgar High School, attended St. Olaf

College, and graduated from the University of Iowa.



Dean was stationed at Camp Kilmer Army Base in New Jersey.



Dean was united in marriage with Virginia Brauchle in Irvington,

N.J.



After leaving the service, he joined the public accounting firm

of Edgar S. Gage Company in Mason City, which later merged with

McGladrey, Hansen, Dunn and Company.



In 1962, Dean moved to Iowa Falls to manage the Iowa Falls office

of the firm.



On Sept. 1, 1977, he became the assistant vice president and

controller of the Citizen State Bank, later named Greenbelt Bank

& Trust.



Dean retired from the Greenbelt Bank & Trust in January of 1994,

and remained active as a board member until his death.



He was a member of the Iowa Falls Elks Club B.P.O.E. #1674,

Rotary in which he was past president; Iowa Society  of C.P.A.;

and Highland Country Club.



He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Iowa Falls.



He is survived by his wife, Virginia; daughter, Diane Wyman

and her husband, David, and grandsons, Andrew, Matthew, and Evan

Wyman, all of Elmhurst, Ill.; son, Steve Carlson and his wife,

Marianne; and granddaughter, Lauren Carlson, all of Western Springs,

Ill.; his father, Ted Carlson of Carmichael, Calif.; and many

relatives and friends.



He was preceded in death by his mother.

Survivors include his wife, Clara, of Osage; three daughters,

Grace Janson of Belmond, Mildred Jennings of Orchard, and Marcella

Larsen of Mason City; one son, Clifford Seter Jr. of Orchard;

20 grandchildren; and 49 great-grandchildren.



He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, an infant

sister, three half-sisters, two half-brothers, one granddaughter

and one great-grandson.

Arlene Eno

SHEFFIELD



Arlene Eno, 79, of Sheffield, died Thursday (Sept. 19, 1996)

at the Sheffield Care Center.



Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the

First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Robert Beard officiating.

Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery.



Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Grarup

Funeral Home.



Arlene Eno was born on Nov. 4, 1916, the daughter of Henry and

Emma (Koenen) Heitland, on the family farm near Meservey.



She attended the country schools in the Meservey and Thornton

areas.



Following school, she helped on the family farm taking care

of her family.



She was united in marriage to Walter Eno in the First Reformed

Church of Meservey on Nov. 7, 1936. They made their home farming

in the Sheffield area.



She enjoyed collecting birds and was a very good cook, setting

aside every Friday for homemade bread and her special baking.



She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Sheffield.



She is survived by her husband, Walter, of Sheffield; two sons,

Gordon and his wife, Mae, of Corona, Calif., and Jack and his

wife, Cheryl, of Sheffield; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren;

and one brother, Roger Heitland and his wife, Alice, of Thornton.



She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.

Louis E. Walker

WATERLOO



Louis E. Walker, 88, of 1925 Westchester Road, Waterloo, Iowa

50701, died Thursday (Sept. 19, 1996) at Covenant Medical Center,

Waterloo, of heart failure.



Louis Walker was president of Walker's Shoe Store of Iowa until

he retired in 1973 at the age of 65.



He started his life-long experience in shoe retailing at the

age of 14, selling shoes at Arends Shoe Store in Waterloo.



In 1929, he became a third partner in the Fox Shoe Store of

Waterloo and in 1936, he opened his own store.



Through the years, he expanded to seven cities in the state:

Waterloo, Dubuque, Des Moines, Mason City, Cedar Rapids, Iowa

City and Sioux City.



Walker served 21 years on the board of the National Shoe Retailers,

and the firm has been a member of Shoes Associated since 1962.



Walker was very active in all community affairs.



He was preceded in death by his wife, Genevieve, in 1988; and

is survived by his wife, Veda, of seven years and his two children,

James R. Walker and Jane Walker Christensen.



His son, James R. Walker and his grandson, James P. Christensen,

now head up the eight-store organization in Iowa.

Willis Sedwick

MASON CITY 



Willis Sedwick, 65, of 501 S. Kentucky Ave., died Thursday

(Sept. 19, 1996) at Heritage Care Center.



Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Hogan-Bremer

Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E., with the Rev. Kenneth Hatland

of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial

Park Cemetery.



Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until service time on Saturday

at the funeral chapel.



Willis Sedwick was born May 11, 1931.



Willis was orphaned at an early age.



He worked as a handyman at various jobs throughout his life.



For the past five years, he has lived at Heritage Care Center

where he will be greatly missed by the staff and residents.

Carl E. Condon, 69, of Hampton,  died Wednesday (Sept. 18,

1996) at Franklin General Hospital.



Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the

First Congregational United Church of Christ with the Rev. Gregory

Smith and the Rev. Nate Frazee officiating. Burial will be in

the Hampton Cemetery.



Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Sietsema-Vogel

Funeral Home.



Carl E. Condon was born Jan. 13, 1927, in Boone.



Survivors include his wife, H. Winfred Condon of Hampton; two

daughters, Pamela Condon of Annapolis, Md., and Janet Strickler

of Waverly; and one granddaughter.



He was preceded in death by his parents.
