Marjorie Ann Johnson, 62, died Tuesday (Feb. 27, 1996) at her
home near Britt.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the
Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Stephen Kowbel officiating.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. today at the Ewing
Funeral Home, and will continue one hour prior to services at
the church on Saturday.
Marjorie was born July 12, 1933, at Iowa City, the daughter
of Clarence M. and Julie (Noble) Baumgartner. She attended school
in Garner. On Feb. 20, 1951, she was united in marriage with
Denny Johnson at the Bethel Baptist Parsonage in Britt. The
couple made their home in Britt until Denny was called to serve
in the U.S. Army. After his time in the service, Denny and Marjorie
returned to the farm northwest of Britt where they have since
made their home. Marjorie worked for many years at North Iowa
Electronics.
Marjorie is survived by her husband, Denny; her children, Barbara
Brown and her husband, Alan; Jo Lee Johnson; and Mark and his
special friend, Chrissy, all of Britt; Dixie Wieditz and her
husband, Glen, of Vinton; Tammy Johnson and her husband, Rikki
Young of Corwith, and Alan and his special friend, Ann of Pompano
Beach, Fla.; six grandchildren; her mother, Julia Baumgartner
of Garner; one brother, Calvin Baumgartner and his wife, Donna,
of Garner; three sisters, Geraldine Folkerts and her husband,
Henry, of Britt; Joan Hall of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Betty Riis
and her husband, Doug, of Marion.
She was preceded in death by her father, one grandson and one
sister.

Freddie H. Nevermann, 87, of Monona, died Wednesday (Feb. 28,
1996) following a brief illness at Good Shepherd Nursing Home,
Mason City.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul
Lutheran Church, Monona, with the Rev. Terry Hudson officiating.
Burial will be in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Schultz's
Funeral Home, Monona.
Freddie H. Nevermann, the son of Fred and Minnie (Schrader)
Nevermann, was born Aug. 3, 1908, on a farm near Monona. He
was a farmer and was also employed at Benzing Supply Service
and Evans Hardware.
Freddie was united in marriage to Lorene Krambeer on April 30,
1935, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. They lived in Renwick
from 1947 to 1949.
Survivors include one son, LeAllen Nevermann and his wife, Janelle,
of Mason City; one grandson, Brian Nevermann; and a special friend,
Leone Gruber of Waukon.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

Myrtle Flick, 82, of 702 J St., died Monday (Feb. 26, 1996)
at the Ninth St. Chautauqua Guest Home.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate
Conception Church with the Rev. Stanley J. Hayek officiating.
Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery.
Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. today at the Hauser Funeral
Home where the rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. by the Lay Order
of Carmelites and there will also be a parish vigil scripture
service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior
to services at the church on Saturday.
Myrtle Helen Reding Flick was born July 20, 1913, at Wakaw,
Saskatchewan, Canada.
Survivors include one sister, Viola Greene of Davidson, Saskatchewan,
Canada; and two brothers, Edwin Reding and Alvin Reding, both
of Cudworth, Saskatchewan, Canada.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and an infant
sister.

Harry I. Thompson, 106, of 11605 Ivydell St., and formerly of
Britt, Iowa, died Wednesday (Feb. 28, 1996) at a hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Trinity
Lutheran Church with Dr. Roland Schutz officiating. Interment
will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
Visitation was held Thursday evening at the Smith-Southerland
Funeral Home, Panama City, Fla.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity Lutheran
Church in memory of Mr. Thompson.
Harry I. Thompson was born in Clinton, Ill., later moving to
Florida from Britt in the mid-1950s. Mr. Thompson was a self-
employed farmer and carpenter, a member of the Fountain Fire
Department and was Lutheran by faith.
Survivors include one son, Kenneth Thompson and his wife, Chris,
of Fountain, Fla., and Leavenworth, Kan.; one daughter, Ruby
Nuehring and her husband, Eugene, of Little Falls, Minn.; 12
grandchildren, Randy Thompson, Vicki Mapes, Rita Higgins, Karen
Pauley, Joyce Heffron, Dennis Neuhring, Carol Stock, Donna Maiden,
Rita Rogers, Linda Davis, Becky McManus and Walter Thompson Jr.;
28 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Lester and Walter Thompson.

Margaret E. Jensen, 81, of Britt, passed away Wednesday (Feb.
28, 1996) at the Westview Care Center in Britt.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic
Church with the Rev. Marvin Bries officiating. Burial will be
held at 11:45 a.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. today at the Ewing
Funeral Home, and will continue one hour prior to services at
the church on Saturday.
Margaret E. Jensen was born March 4, 1914, in Hampton, the daughter
of Lester R. and Vera R. Davison Roderick. She attended school
in the Lone Rock area. She was united in marriage with Herb
Jensen on Nov. 10, 1940. After Herb passed away in 1964, she
worked at the Clear Lake Bank and Trust until retirement. She
then moved to Britt and lived there until her death.
Margaret is survived by two sons, Stephen and his wife, Gay,
of Mason City, and Douglas and his wife, Becky, of Britt; one
sister, Imogene and her husband, Mike Elbert of Algona; and three
grandchildren, Kellie and David Jensen of Mason City, and Peter
Jensen of Albert Lea, Minn.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and one
sister.

Emelia (E.M.) Irene Pederson, 64, died Saturday (March 2, 1996)
at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St.
Luke's Lutheran Church with the Rev. Ernest Thompson officiating.
The body was cremated.
The family will greet friends a half hour before the service
at the church. Inurnment will take place at a later date at
Park Cemetery.
Sheckler Colonial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Emelia was born Feb. 22, 1932, near Fertile, the daughter of
Nels and Ruth (Johnson) Oakland. She graduated from Fertile
High School in 1950.
On Oct. 20, 1950, she was united in marriage to Robert Henry
Pederson at the Fertile Lutheran Church. The Rev. Hans Okland
presided at the ceremony. The couple moved to Nora Springs in
1960.
Emelia cherished her family. She also delighted in sharing
her home with five exchange students over the years. They were:
Margo from Brazil, Inger from Norway, Lito of the Philippines,
Elvira of Germany, and Tennah of Liberia.
Her hobbies included sewing and crocheting. She also loved
to bake and was well known in Nora Springs for ``M's homemade
buns.'' She was elected to the Nora Springs City Council in
the 1970s and was the first woman to serve on the council. For
the past several years she and her husband have enjoyed winters
in Mesa, Ariz.
She was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church and was involved
in Christian Women.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Henry Pederson of Nora
Springs; four children, Robert E. ``Hutch'' Pederson and his
wife, Lisa of Cornell, Brad Pederson and his wife, Connie of
Osage, Brian Pederson and his wife, Vicki of Nora Springs, and
Jane O'Rourke and her husband, Patrick of Fort Dodge; three sisters,
Norma Sprau of Mason City, IdaDell Wright and her husband Bill
of Jewell, and Marcelline Osmundson of Radcliffe; 12 grandchildren,
Kristin Pederson, Teresa Coats, Ryan O'Rourke, Brodie Pederson,
Cassie Pederson, Andrea O'Rourke, Emily Pederson, B.J. Pederson,
Chrissy Pederson, Callie Pederson, Sam Pederson and Mila O'Rourke;
three great-grandchildren, Rhett Pederson, Dakota Coats and Ty
Coats.
She was preceded in death by her parents.

Jerald A. ``Jerry'' Anderson, 75, of West Sacramento, formerly
of Forest City, Iowa, died Saturday (Feb. 24, 1996) at Bond's
Care Center, Sacramento.
Funeral services were held at noon Wednesday, Feb. 28, 1996,
at the Community Lutheran Church, West Sacramento, with burial
in Monument Hill Memorial Park, Woodland, Calif.
River Cities Funeral Chapel, West Sacramento, was in charge
of arrangements.
Jerry was born March 9, 1920, in Forest City, to Ove B. and
Mabel (Johnson) Anderson.
He was a graduate of the Forest City Schools and attended Waldorf
College.
Jerry began his print shop career as a teen-age trainee and
Linotype operator at the Winnebago Republican weekly newspaper
in Forest City. He later worked for several large city newspapers
before settling some 35 years ago in West Sacramento where he
was employed by the Sacramento Bee and the California statehouse
printers.
Jerry served over four years in the United States Navy during
World War II, including duty on a destroyer tender, the U.S.S.
Whitney, during the Japanese attack on Pearl Habor on Dec. 7,
1941.
On Oct. 10, 1946, Jerry was united in marriage to Eleanor Harang
at Lake Mills, Iowa. Three children were born to this couple.
Eleanor died in Sacramento on Dec. 30, 1991.
Survivors include two daughters, Lynn, of Sacramento; and Sarah
``Sally'' of West Sacramento; a brother, Donald and his wife,
Charlotte, of Forest City; a sister, Dorothy and her husband,
David Twito of Lake Mills; and several nieces and nephews.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; an infant
son, Peter; and a brother, Julian.

Evelyn G. Colloton was born Sept. 7, 1913, near Plymouth, the
daughter of Herman R. and Rosalie (Dedina) Callow. She married
Walter ``Ted'' Colloton on Feb. 14, 1939, in Mason City.
Evelyn grew up on a farm near Plymouth and graduated from Mason
City High School. She worked at the Cerro Gordo County Courthouse,
Decker Brother's Sports, and for many years at Western Grocery
until retiring.
She enjoyed traveling, crocheting and playing with her dog.
She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.
Survivors include four nephews, Richard Callow and his wife,
Carol, Nora Springs; Raymond Callow and his wife, Gloria, Mason
City; Ron Callow and his wife, Sheila, Mason City, and Morgan
McEnaney and his wife, DeeAnn, Fairfax Station, Va.; one niece,
Dorothy Laubenthal and her husband, Robert, Council Bluffs;
one sister-in-law, Pearl May, Mason City; 12 great-nieces and
nephews; and three great-great-nieces and nephews.

Rectory in New Hampton.
Mable was a home health aide in Worth County for 18 years, retiring
in 1992.
She liked dishes and refinishing furniture.
She belonged to the Catholic Daughters of the Americas and
the VFW Auxillary.
She is survived by her husband, Charles, of Northwood; one son,
Terry and his wife, Trudi, of Ankeny; one sister, Margaret Linkemeyer
of Waterloo; three grandchildren, Tim and his wife, Teresa, of
Davenport; Lisa Hoil of Memphis, Tenn., and Mike Hoil of Ankeny;
and two great-grandchildren, Kathleen and Nathan Hoil of Davenport.
Mable was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers,
George, Elmer and Francis.

Henry Chris ``Hank'' Tagesen was born Jan. 11, 1916, in Rockwell,
the son of Jens and Sophia (Hansen) Tagesen.
He moved with his family to a farm near Rockwell when he was
a small child.
He attended school at Owen Center, a rural country school.
On Dec. 2, 1942, at St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mason
City, he married Dorothy Lorraine Behrens. The couple made their
home on the family farm near Rockwell, where Mr. Tagesen was
engaged in farming. While engaged in farming, Mr. Tagesen was
also a forklift operator at the former State Brand Creamery,
now AMPI.
The couple moved to and made their home in Mason City for seven
years.
He retired in 1978 from AMPI after 20 years of service.
The couple moved to Arkansas for six years and returned to Iowa
to make their home in Nora springs for the past 11 years.
Mr. Tagesen was a former member of the B.P.O. Elks and Loyal
Order of Moose, both of Charles City. While at the creamery,
he was a member of the Teamsters Union l #828.
Living family members include his wife, Dorothy, of Nora Springs;
a son, Michael Tagesen Sr., and special friend, Janece Miller
of Mason City; two grandchildren, Michael Tagesen Jr. of Mankato,
Minn., and Amy (Mrs. Greg) Rippentrop of Mason City.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
