Rufino (Rudy) Heredia, 39, of 115 16th St. N.E., died Thursday
(June 27, 1996).
No services will be held in Mason City. Services will
be held in New York City, N.Y., with his immediate family.
Hogan Bremer Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E., is in charge
of arrangements.
Rufino Heredia was born March 3, 1957, in Puerto Rico, the son
of Rufino and Carmen (Salicrup) Heredia.
He enjoyed camping, fishing and horseshoes, and was an avid
Dallas Cowboys fan. He loved spending time with his many friends
in Mason City.
He is survived by his special family in Mason City: Peggy Luna;
Scott, Cindy, Billy and Mariah Knutson; Angie, Gabe, Hayley and
Devin Sheahan; and Mike, Lisa, Josh, Jessica and Jenna Smith

Cyrilla S. O'Brien Brown
GREENE
A funeral Mass for Cyrilla S. O'Brien Brown, 79, will be held
at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Monsignor
Walter Brunkan officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Reid's
Funeral Chapel, where there will be a scriptural wake service
at 7:30 p.m., followed by a rosary service.
Cyrilla S. Stadick was born March 2, 1917, near Underwood, N.D.,
a daughter of John and Elisabeth (Baar) Stadick, and died Saturday
(June 29, 1996) at the Liebe Care Center.
She received her education in the public schools in Underwood,
N.D., and as a young lady worked as a waitress there and later
in Bismark. She was united in marriage to Raymond Thomas O'Brien
on Jan. 17, 1939, in Douglas, N.D.
Following their marriage they moved to Waterloo where they
both were employed by Rath Packing Company. In 1949 they moved
to the rural Greene area where they farmed. They later farmed
in the Roseville area. Following Mr. O'Brien's death on April
29, 1960, she moved into Greene where she worked for various
firms as a cook and waitress until her retirement in 1991.
On Jan. 13, 1966, she was united in marriage to Lester O. Brown
at Des Moines. They made their home in Greene until his death
on Dec. 21, 1968, as a result of a traffic accident.
Cyrilla was a faithful member of St. Mary's Catholic Church
in Greene and a member of St. Isadore Circle. She was a member
of the American Legion Auxiliary and Alcoholics Anonymous. Her
pastimes included bowling, crossword puzzles, watching television
and, most of all, being with her grandchildren.
Living family members include her daughter, Mary Jungling of
Cedar Falls; two sons and their spouses, Jim and Jean O'Brien
of Greene and Tim and Jane O'Brien of Chandler, Ariz.; seven
grandchildren, Joe O'Brien, Kelly O'Brien, Katherine O'Brien,
Jolyn Scrivner, Chris Jungling, Jennifer Jungling and Nickee
Walters; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Eleanor Liebel
of Underwood, N.D., and Tillie and her husband, Iver Nelson,
of Minot, N.D.; and one brother, Louis Stadick of Chicago.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, five brothers,
10 stepbrothers and stepsisters, two husbands and her daughter,
Char Hedrick.
Those planning an expression of sympathy may direct memorials
to the Cyrilla O'Brien Brown Memorial Fund in care of the family.

Burial will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Calvary Cemetery,

at the church on Tuesday.
Lena Wilhelmina ``Minnie'' Hauser Lynch was born Aug. 15, 1899,
in rural Ionia.
Survivors include one daughter, Patricia Frascht of Charles
City; one sister, Dorothy Zipse of Charles City; two grandchildren;
and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers
and four sisters.

of Blue Earth, Minn.

two sisters and one great-granddaughter.

Michael ``Mike'' Ray McCloskey, 29, of 620 S. Washington Ave.,
died Thursday (June 27, 1996).

Michael Ray McCloskey was born March 3, 1967, in Mason City,
the son of William F. and Margaret A. (O'Donnell) McCloskey.
Mike grew up in Mason City and graduated from Mason City High
School in 1985. He was the youngest of 11 children. He worked
at his family's business, McCloskey Appliance. He enjoyed fishing,
camping, biking, being outdoors with his friends and spending
time with his dog, Lady.
Mike loved his family, especially his daughter, Nikki. He was
very special to his nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Survivors include his daughter, Nikki McCloskey, of Mason City;
his father, Bill ``Mac'' McCloskey, of Mason City; six sisters,
``big'' Dee Dee Wood of Nora Springs, Patty Faught and her husband,
Pat, of Des Moines, Peggy Luna of Mason City, Mary Heaberlin
and her husband, Tom, of Mason City, ``little'' Dee Dee Bailey
and her husband, Marv, of Klemme, and Debbie Ytzen and her husband,
Bob, of Clear Lake; three brothers, Tom McCloskey and his wife,
Lisa, of Des Moines, John McCloskey and his wife, Vicky, of Rockford,
and Pat McCloskey and his wife, Francie, of Rockwell; and many
nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother; his grandparents; one
brother, Billy; one sister-in-law, Shirley McCloskey; one niece;

He was a shipping supervisor for Excel Beef Packing Plant of
Dodge City.
On July 3, 1991, he was united in marriage to Julie A. Simmons
at Dodge City, Kan.
He is survived by his wife, Julie A. Ackley of Dodge City, Kan.;
two sons, Michael Ackley of Anamosa, Iowa, and Chad Ackley;
his father, Miron Ackley of Marble Rock, Iowa; two stepsons,
Paul Simpson and Tim Simpson, both of Moravia, Iowa; his brother,
Neal Ackley of Northwood, Iowa; and a sister, Jeanie Paulus of
Rockford, Iowa; and two grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ilene Mae Ackley.

John Charles Hrubetz, 88, beloved husband of Marjorie, devoted
father of Mary Kay Keller, died suddenly on Thursday (June 27,
1996) at his Seattle home.
John Hrubetz was born Aug. 30, 1907 in Mason City, Iowa.
John spent 45 years in law enforcement in Mason City, Iowa.
He was a Mason City police officer for 38 years. Following retirement,
he worked as a juvenile probation officer for seven years.
He served with honor in World War II and was proud of his contribution
to that effort.
John was a lifetime member of the BPO Elks, and a member of
the American Legion, V.F.W., 40 & 8, Iowa State Police Association
and the Iowa Association of Chiefs of Police & Peace Officers
Inc.
John also served as a member of the Iowa National Guard for
five years.
John and his wife, Marjorie, moved to Seattle, Wash., in 1978
to be near their daughter, Mary Kay and her family.
He is survived by Marjorie, his loving wife of 62 years; his
cherished daughter, Mary Kay Keller; grandchildren, Jeffrey Phillips
and Julia Phillips; and five great-grandchildren, Alexander,
Joel, Hannah, Andrew and Matthew.
Services were held at Gethesman Chapel in Seattle, Wash., on
Monday, July 1.

Teri Lyn DiMarco was born Oct. 11, 1978, at Mason City, a daughter
of Jim and Shirley (Moeller) DiMarco Jr.
Teri attended Newman Catholic Schools and recently completed
her junior year at Newman High School, Mason City.
At Newman, Teri was a member of the volleyball team, and especially
enjoyed Spanish class and her teacher, Mony Vega.
Teri worked at The Buckle in Southbridge Mall.
She enjoyed spending time with her niece, Kelsey, rollerblading,
shopping, cars, her boyfriend, Chris, and her many friends.
She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Mason City.
Teri is survived by her parents, Jim and Shirley DiMarco of
Mason City; two sisters, Cathy Beckwith and her husband, Jim,
of Marion, and Keri DiMarco and her boyfriend, Chad Blake, of
Mason City; one brother, Mike Yoes of San Angelo, Texas; a special
niece, Kelsey Marie DiMarco of Mason City; paternal grandmother,
Kay DiMarco of Mason City; maternal grandparents, Melvin and
Elsie Moeller, of San Angelo, Texas; two special friends, Chris
McLaughlin of Mason City, and Amanda Ryan of Clear Lake; and
many aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Jim DiMarco
Sr.

Cora C. Wepking was born Aug. 17, 1889, in Manly, Iowa, the
daughter of Thomas and Anna (Zeiman) Klein.
She was a lifelong resident of this area and attended school
in Danville Township and Minneapolis, Minn.
On Jan. 8, 1913, she was united in marriage to H. Emerson Wepking,
who preceded her in death in 1961.
Following her husband's death, she made her home on their acreage,
later moving to her daughter's farm.
She enjoyed attending Clear Lake Evangelical Free Church as
long as her health permitted.
She was a member of the Riverside Ladies Club until residing
in the Good Shepherd Health Care Center.
She enjoyed cooking, entertaining, gardening and sewing.
Her greatest love was her family. She especially enjoyed her
grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was a special lady and this area's oldest resident.
Survivors include one daughter, Margaret Jackson and close friend,
Tom McCourt, of Mason City; two grandsons, Jerry Jackson and
his wife, Teri, of Mason City, and Jim Jackson of Garner; six
great-grandsons, Jamey and Tim Jackson of Mason City, Brent Jackson
of Ankeny, Eric Jackson and his wife, Chris, Jason and Scott
Jackson, all of Garner; and great-great-grandson, Lucas Jackson
of Garner.
She leaves many relatives, friends and ``adopted'' grandchildren,
including Lori Anderson and her husband, Steve, and their children,
Ashley, Megan and Stefani of Gilbert, Ariz.; granddaughter-in-law,
Kris Jackson of Garner.
She was preceded in death by her husband; an infant son; and
three brothers, Joseph, Edward, and Walter Klein.

Caroline K. Bringolf, 97, of 274 Parkridge Drive, Mason City,
passed away Monday (July 1, 1996) at the Oakview Care Center
in Durand, Wis.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the
St. Paul Lutheran Church, 329 E. State St., with the Rev. James
B. Norem officiating. Burial will be in the Grafton Cemetery,
Grafton.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Major
Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., and one hour
prior to services at the church.

of Caroline K. Bringolf.
Caroline K. Bringolf was born Jan. 14, 1899, in Grafton, Iowa,
the daughter of Fred and Minnie (Nitschke) Kruger.
While Caroline was quite young, her mother was widowed, and
remarried J.J. Bringolf.
Caroline graduated from Osage High School and attended Iowa
State Teachers College (later U.N.I.) in Cedar Falls.
Caroline married Glen H. Bringolf on June 18, 1917, at Fort
Dodge, Iowa.
In 1923, the Bringolfs moved to California; they migrated back
and forth several times between that state and Iowa, returning
to Grafton in 1938, where Glen was a banker and Caroline worked
as a teller.
In the late 1940's, they moved to Mason City, where Caroline
entered a career of managing two farms inherited from her mother.
She continued in farm management and investment until ill health
dictated her retirement in 1994.
Caroline was a world traveler, visiting Europe, New Zealand,
Hawaii and Alaska, and she loved playing bridge with friends.
She was active in several civic and charitable organizations,
including St. Paul Lutheran Church, Women of the Evangelical
Lutheran Church of America, Eastern Star, and the American Legion
Auxilliary.
She is survived by two grandsons, Ross Black of Lawrence, Kan.,
and Bryce Black and his wife, Kathleen Plunkett-Black, of Arkansaw,
Wis.; and three great-grandsons, Lorin, Christopher, and Geoffrey
Black of Arkansaw, Wis.
Caroline was preceded in death by her parents; her husband,
Glen Bringolf; a son, John Bringolf; a daughter, Virginia Bringolf
Black; and a grandson, William T. Black Jr.

NORTHWOOD
Roger Luverne ``Hofer'' Hofstad, 70, of 802 Fifth Ave N., Northwood,
died Saturday morning (June 29, 1996) at the Rice County Hospice
Center, in Willmar, Minn.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today at the Wing-Bain
Funeral Home, Montevideo, Minn., with the Rev. Greg Gabrial officiating.
Full military rites will be conducted by the V.F.W. Post #570.
Burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Montevideo.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the
Schroeder and Sites Funeral Home, in Northwood, with the Rev.
Alf Merseth officiating.
Roger Luverne Hofstad was born March 24, 1926, in Minneapolis,
Minn.
Roger graduated from Roosevelt High School in South Minneapolis.
In 1944, he enlisted in the United States Navy, and served on
the U.S.S. Brookings (APG 173) in the South Pacific during World
War II.
Upon completion of his enlistment, he graduated from Hennepin
Community Business College.
In 1948, he began working for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service
in South Dakota.
Roger was united in marriage to Annabell Moen on Nov. 5, 1949,
in Osseo, Minn.
They made their home in Minneapolis for a short time before
moving to Northwood in 1953.
Roger operated a roofing business until he started working for
Grundmeier Hatchery and Feed, in Northwood, in 1954.
Later Roger and Annabell purchased part of the Grundmeier Hatchery
and Feed and Johnson Feed Company and renamed it Hofstad Feed
Service.
He also worked for Central Soya and Great Plains Supply before
starting a contracting business, Hofer Construction.
Roger did construction work in north Iowa and southern Minnesota
for 25 years, until his retirement.
Roger was an avid flower and vegetable gardener. Some of his
favorite hobbies included bread making, canning, beer and wine
making and champion dog breeding.
He thoroughly enjoyed bowling, golf, deer and pheasant hunting,
and especially fishing.
He was very active in the V.F.W. and was a life member of Our
Buddies Post #6779. He became All State Commander in 1971.
He was a member of the First Shellrock Church in Northwood.
Survivors include one daughter and her husband, Jacque and Scott
Collins of Willmar; two sons, Nickolas of Montevideo, and Tullio
and his wife, Kathy, of Lake Mills; four grandchildren, Bess
and Birk Hofstad and Katy and Kristin Collins; one sister, Shirley
Vessel, of Richfield, Minn.; and a special friend, Deloris Appel
of Northwood.
Included with the survivors are dedicated and loving in-laws
and a select group of special friends whose loyalty and friendship
lasted over 40 years and enriched the lives of Roger and Annabell.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Annabell; and his parents.

He was united in marriage to Sharon Peyton on July 23, 1960,
in Shawneetown, Ill.
They made their home in Chicago, while he worked as a machine
operator.
In 1968, they moved to the Sheffield area where he began working
for the Martinson Manufacturing Company of Sheffield.
In 1985, he moved back to Milan, Tenn., where he married Judy
Pals on Dec. 9, 1985.
They made their home in Milan, Tenn., where he worked as a machine
operator for the Windsor Corp.
In 1993, they moved to Mason City and he started working for
Ryder Trucks and as a bus driver for the Mason City Transit system.
In May of this year, he started driving for Midwest Connection
out of Ankeny.
Harold enjoyed fishing and bowling in his spare time.
He is survived by his wife, Judy, of Mason City; two sons and
their wives, Terry and Penny McCaslin of Sheffield, and Kevin
and Sara McCaslin of Rockford; three stepchildren, Mark Pals
of Sheffield; Beth Sorenson of Trenton, Mo., and Max Pals of
Lexington, Tenn.; seven grandchildren; eight stepgrandchildren;
and two sisters, Geneva Witherspoon and Dorothy Sanders, both
of Milan, Tenn.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sons.

Daniel S. McCaslin was born on April 14, 1967, in Chicago, Ill.,
the son of Harold and Sharon (Peyton) McCaslin.
He attended school in Sheffield and graduated with the class
of 1985.
After school, he started working for Sukup Manufacturing of
Sheffield.
Following his marriage to Candy Lindloff on Oct. 18, 1986, in
Greene, he began driving truck for Doug's Transfer out of Sheffield.
They made their home in Sheffield for a period of time before
moving to Milan, Tenn., for six months and then returned to Sheffield,
where he continued to drive for Doug's Transfer.
In 1993, they moved to Mason City. He began working for Easter's
Foods, Casey's and the Plagge Truckline.
He had just recently started driving for Midwest Connection
out of Ankeny on June 10 of this year.
Danny enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his friends.
He is survived by his wife, Candy, and their children, Christopher,
Brianna and Logan, all of Mason City; his mother, Sharon Smit
and her husband, Dale, of Sheffield; his stepmother, Judy McCaslin
of Mason City; two brothers and their wives, Terry and Penny
McCaslin of Sheffield, and Kevin and Sara McCaslin of Rockford;
one stepsister, Beth Sorenson of Trenton, Mo.; two stepbrothers,
Mark Pals of Sheffield and Max Pals, Lexington, Tenn; maternal

Evelyn was united in marriage to Luke Wessels on Oct. 9, 1929,
in Clarion.
After she was married, she lived in Mason City her entire life
and was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Mason
City.
Survivors include two daughters, June Wessels and Joan Wessels,
both of Mason City; three sisters, Edith Dohrmann, Lois Paullus
and Ruby Kellison, all of Hampton; one brother, Floyd Dirksen
of Hampton; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Luke,
in 1979; and one sister, Florence Roberts.

Alice Marie Olson was born on Oct. 6, 1907, in Council Bluffs,
the daughter of Edward and Ellen ``Lotten'' Viberg.
She attended and received her education in the Council Bluffs
school system, graduating from Jefferson High School in Council
Bluffs.
She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing at the
University of Iowa, in Iowa City where she was Phi Beta Kappa.
She was united in marriage to Dr. Russell L. Olson on Feb. 25,
1931, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Council Bluffs. He preceded
her in death on Feb. 2, 1985.
Shortly after their marriage, they moved to Northwood, where
she was a nurse helping her husband in his medical practice in
Northwood for 50 years until they retired in 1980.
She enjoyed golf, playing bridge, piano in which music was a
constant enjoyment, gardening and crocheting.
She was a former music director at Girls State which was part
of the American Legion Auxilliary, Junior Choir Director at First
Lutheran Church, Inter Se Study Club, Bridge Club, Northwood
Country Club, Republican Party of Iowa in which she held several
offices and a member of the First Lutheran Church in Northwood.
Left to cherish her memory is one daughter, Joan Olson of Northfield,
Minn.; three sons, Russell Olson and his wife, Elvira, of Fairfax;
Rodney Olson and his wife, Faye, of St. Paul, Minn., and Paul
Olson and his wife, Linda, of Rifle, Colo.; 13 grandchildren;
16 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and
one sister, Astrid Mahan of Omaha, Neb.
Also left to cherish her memory is Shirley Olson of Greeley,
Colo.; Dorothy Low of Northwood; Dr. Stephanie Seemuth of Northwood;
the staff at the Lutheran Retirement Home in Northwood; and the
staff of Hospice of North Iowa, as well as other relatives and
friends.

Franklin B. Pitkin, 77, of 1812 S. Harding Ave., died Monday

the Rev. Jack Vanden Heuvel officiating.
The organist will be Zelda Elwood, with duets sung by Dr. Mick
and Mrs. Judy Vanden Bosch. The selections for the duet will
be ``Someday We'll Understand,'' ``When We See Christ'' and ``In
The Garden Medley.'' The congregation will sing, ``Under His
Wings.''
Pallbearers will be James Pitkin, Doug Bitker, Galen Pitkin,
Wayne Koehler, Bill Trask and Jay Pitkin.
Burial will be at the Meservey Cemetery, Meservey, with full
military rites performed at the graveside by the Mason City Memorial
Association.

Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., with the family
receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. There will be further visitation
one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.

Franklin B. Pitkin was born Aug. 29, 1918, the son of Austin
and Nellie (Schwartz) Pitkin, in Grant Township, near Miller,
Iowa, in Hancock County.
He was raised northwest of Clear Lake and attended Grant Township
School.
Franklin enlisted in the United States Army and served from
1941 to 1943 with the Field Artillery group and was stationed
in Oklahoma, Texas and Louisiana.
Franklin married Elaine Watermiller on Sept. 29, 1951.
Franklin worked many years for Montgomery Wards installing plumbing
and heating equipment.
He then worked several years for Ray E. Pauley as a journeyman
sheetmetal worker, retiring due to his health.
Franklin enjoyed fishing, deer hunting with relatives, playing
checkers and family birthday parties with his brothers and sisters.
For several years, Franklin and Elaine wintered at Apache Junction,
Ariz.
He was a member of the Rolling Acres Christian Reformed Church,
Disabled American Veterans and the Sheetmetal Workers Union.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine Pitkin of Mason City; his
three daughters, Carol Ann Boeshart and her husband, Fletcher,
of Forest City, and twins, Dixie Lee Spencer and her husband,
Gary, of Clear Lake, and Diana Lynn Theilan and her husband,
James, of Clear Lake; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren;
one sister, Goldie Bitker (Mrs. LeRoy) of Clear Lake; three brothers,
Sherwood Pitkin and his wife, Marian, of Clear Lake, Ivan Pitkin
and his wife, Geraldine, of Clear Lake, and Curtis Pitkin and
his wife, Luella, of Andrew, Texas; several nieces and nephews;
and one sister-in-law, Doris Pitkin, of Clear Lake.

Sherman Charlson was born Nov. 1, 1914, in Winnebago County,
son of Andrew and Gena (Lovick) Charlson.
He married Sadie Dahlseide in 1940 at Concordia Lutheran Church,

Sherman farmed near Joice all of his life until retiring and
also he sold used farm machinery.
He spent much of his time at auctions and collecting antiques.
He loved to fish and travel with his wife across the continental
United States, Canada, Alaska and the Scandinavian countries.
He was a member of the Elks Lodge in Albert Lea, and Trinity
Lutheran Church, Mason City.
Survivors include his wife, Sadie Charlson, Joice; five daughters,
Sharon Lance and her husband, Ron, of Cedar Falls, Gloria (LaRae)
Hamilton and her husband, Curtis, of Escondido, Calif., Kathy
Hebel of Mason City, Bonnie Burchett-Herndon and her husband,

Betty A. Countryman, 64, of Titonka, died Wednesday (July 3,
1996) at the Kossuth Regional Health Center.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Good
Hope Lutheran Church, Titonka.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Garry-
Roberts-Murphy-Schaaf Funeral Home, Titonka, where other
arrangements are incomplete.

ST. ANSGAR
Mary E. Beyer, 79, of St. Ansgar, died Tuesday (July 2, 1996)
at the Nora Springs Care Center, Nora Springs.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. John's
Lutheran Church, Rock Township, Mitchell County, with the Rev.
Gregory Bjornstad of Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Grafton officiating.
Burial will be in the St. Ansgar Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Schroeder
and Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar.
Mary was born Feb. 6, 1917, in Cerro Gordo County to Perry and
Alma (Reis) Crooks.
She was united in marriage to Joseph Beyer on April 25, 1934,
in Owen Township, Rockford, Iowa.
They farmed in Rock Township, Mitchell County, until retirement,
moving to St. Ansgar in the fall of 1973.
Mary has been a resident at the Nora Springs Care Center since
the fall of 1989.
She was a past member of the St. John's Ladies Aid and the Altar
Guild, and also taught Sunday School.
Mary enjoyed quilting, crocheting, sewing and gardening.
She is survived by six sons, Richard Beyer and his wife, Olga,
of St. Ansgar, Paul Beyer of St. Ansgar, Joseph Beyer and his
wife, Pam, of St. Ansgar, Frederick Beyer and his wife, Jan,
of Danville, Ark., Edward Beyer of Orchard, Iowa, and Charles
Beyer and his wife, Ruth Ann, of Des Moines; eight daughters,
Esther Kanzenbach and her husband, Robert, of Faribault, Minn.,
Marian Bell and her husband, Steven, of Muskego, Wis., Verona
Spooner and her husband, Norman, of Nora Springs, Jorene Gunderson
and her husband, Dreng, of Northwood, Leone Kofoot and her husband,
Don, of St. Ansgar, Myrna Klemesrud and her husband, Greg, of
Charles City, Ruth Evans of Des Moines, and Sharon Brown and
her husband, Anthony, of Stacyville; two brothers, Wilbur Crooks
of Mason City and Henry Crooks of Dows; 31 grandchildren and
31 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph;
one brother, Otto Crooks; and four grandchildren, David Hardwick,
Flora Elliot, Fredrick Kanzenbach and Bethany Kofoot.

CORWITH
Nicholas Jay Pogge, infant son of Jay and Daphne Pogge of Corwith,
was stillborn Monday (July 1, 1996) at Mary Greeley Medical Center,
Ames.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. today at the Kanawha
Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Caroline Engelbrecht officiating.
Burial will be in the Amsterdam Cemetery, Kanawha.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. today at the Ewing Funeral
Home, Kanawha, and will continue one hour prior to services at
the church.
He is survived by his parents, Jay and Daphne Pogge of Corwith;
two sisters, Ashley and Lindsey, at home; maternal grandparents,
Roger and Diane Omvig of Kanawha; paternal grandparents, Kenneth
and Joyce Pogge of Kanawha; maternal great-grandparents, Esther
Walk of Kanawha and John Omvig of Kanawha; and paternal great-
grandparents, Richard and Jennie Arends of Kanawha.
