Jane occasionally would search for small vases at community sales so that those who were sad, sick or grieving could receive a flower personally delivered. She was also a devoted Cub Scout leader.

Jane loved a good game of bridge and was one of those people who could carry on a conversation while still keeping track of her cards. Her family was her principle focus with whom she shared her joys of life and her pride in their activities and successes.

Jane was also very supportive of the MacNider Art Museum where in early 2007 she and her brother Jack were pleased to share with area citizens their mother Alice Lazard's retrospective exhibit of her paintings and drawings.
Those wishing to offer memorials are encouraged to consider the First Congregational United Church of Christ, MacNider Art Museum, Hospice of North Iowa, Central Gardens, Wright on the Park or the donor's own favorite charity.
