society.

stitch,

diving,
fishing,

and
traveling.
Spending
time
with her
family

grandmother

important
to her,
and she

enjoyed

survivor.

Charles William Steere
GREENE — Funeral services for Charles William Steere, 61, of 13801 Marsh Ave., Greene, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 3, 2007, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 324 East Traer St., Greene, with Pastor Gary Hatcher officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Greene.
Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. today, March 2, 2007, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Greene. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services on Saturday.
Charles William Steere was born June 14, 1945, on the family farm, Coldwater Township, Butler Co., a son of William and Mildred (Rover) Steere Jr., and died surrounded by his loving family on Friday, Feb. 23, 2007, after a courageous battle with cancer.
He received his education at the Coldwater Country School No. 6 and graduated from Greene High School in 1963. After graduation, Charles joined the family farm operation near Greene.
He was inducted into the armed forces on Sept. 1, 1965, serving in the Second Battalion 61st Infantry Fifth United States Army. Charles was stationed stateside from 1965 to 1967 during the Vietnam Conflict, earning the rank of sergeant. He was stationed at Fort Collins in Colorado Springs, Colo., and served as a chef. He was discharged Aug. 31,1967, and returned to farming.
Throughout Charles’ career as a farmer, he never lost sight of the principles of farming and stewardship that he was taught by his father and grandfather. He was precise and meticulous in the way he farmed, raised his livestock and maintained his property.
Charles enjoyed attending livestock auctions and shows. He especially enjoyed raising registered Suffolk sheep and selling and showing them throughout the United States. He took pride in landscaping and maintaining the family farm.
Charles was a loving and devoted uncle who treasured time spent with his nieces and nephews. He took pleasure in attending their activities. Charles especially enjoyed attending basketball games. His nieces and nephews brought him great joy.
He was baptized on July 1, 1945, and confirmed on March 22, 1959, at St.Peter Lutheran Church, in Greene. He was a faithful member of St. Peter Lutheran Church and served on the church council.
Charles was a member of the American Legion, Iowa Suffolk Association, United Sheep Association, Iowa Cattlemen’s Association, Butler County Pork Producers and Farm Bureau. Charles was a sponsor for the Junior Suffolk Association and Pheasants Forever.
He was a devoted son, brother and uncle. Charles was well respected by everyone who knew him and a friend to all.
Living family members include his loving mother, Mildred Steere, of Greene; four sisters: Marlys (Jim) Nixt, of Greene, Marilyn Steere of Waverly, Marcia (Bruce) Trey of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Peg (Dennis) Griffin of Greene; sister-in-law, Deb Steere, of Allison; 10 nieces and nephews: Amy Nixt of Greene, Anthony (DeAnn) Nixt of Waverly, Renee (Mike) Salge of Greene, Becky (Adam) Anderson of Garner, Brett (Lisa) Steere of Allison, Mark Nixt of Greene, Jill (Mark) Lamborn of Luana, Tyler Griffin of Cedar Falls, Ben Trey of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Clint Griffin of Greene; and treasured great-nieces and nephews: Taylor, Kaleb and Brynn Salge, Clay and Wyatt Anderson, Braydan Steere, and Brock, Blake and Avery Lamborn and one on the way; special friends, Larry and Alice Schwab of Allison; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Charles was preceded in death by his father, William Steere Jr.; brother, Harlan Steere; and nephew, Brock Steere.

OELWEIN — Jean L. Gray, 56, of Oelwein, died on Tuesday evening (Feb. 27, 2007) at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester, Minn., after a brief illness.
There will be a private family Celebration of Jean’s Life on Saturday, March 3, 2007, at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Oelwein.
There will be public visitation from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 3, at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at a later date.

Jean Lucille Gray was born on May 2, 1950, at Breckenridge, Minn., the daughter of William and Alice (Petersen) Simpson. She graduated from Mitchell High School at Mitchell, S.D., in 1968, and from Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa, in 1972.
Jean married Paul Dean Gray on May 27, 1972, at Mitchell, S.D. She was an English teacher at the Oelwein Community High School and had previously taught at Morrison, Ill. Jean has been a resident of Oelwein since 1989.
She was an avid reader and excellent cook. Jean enjoyed spending time with her family in the summer at Ten Mile Lake in Minnesota.

He was a Vietnam veteran with the Marine Corps, was retired from Norwest Bank and was an avid outdoorsman.

Dona J. True, daughter of James and Shirley (Runger) Moor, was born March 18, 1951, in Mason City, Iowa. Dona loved children and was an excellent cook. She had a flare for interior design and enjoyed floral arrangements.
Dona is survived by her daughter: Daunelle Hughes and her husband, Jason, of Des Moines; one granddaughter: Lauren Hughes, of Des Moines; two brothers: Mike True, of Mason City, and Paul Moor and his wife, Barb, of Northern Iowa; two sisters: Linda Fraser and her husband, Troy, of Swaledale, and Shelia Harding and her husband, Jim, of Hampton. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Dona was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Jayme Sticha.

MARSHALLTOWN — Helen “Carlene” Boulicault, 67, passed away Tuesday (Feb. 27, 2007) at the Wright Medical Center Hospice Unit in Clarion.

Helen was born Oct. 20, 1939, in Beaman, Iowa. She was the daughter of Harold and Helen Cartee. Helen graduated from Beaman High School and later attended Kirkwood Community College and DMACC. Helen married Darroll White and moved to Topanga Canyon, Calif., before returning to Iowa to reside in Marshalltown.
While in Marshalltown, Helen worked for Joyce Lumber Co. and then Fisher Controls, Governor Road facility.
Helen married William (Ray) Boulicault on Nov. 22, 1988, in Las Vegas, Nev. She joined Ray in the trucking industry as a driver and business partner with R&H Trucking in 1994. In 2002 Helen and Ray moved to Ankeny, where Helen worked for Todd’s LTD and later for WahlTek Inc.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Helen, two brothers, Tom and Doug; and grandson Austin.
She is survived by her husband of 18 years, Ray, of Ankeny; sons, Aaron White (Mary) of Des Moines, Geoff White (Becky) of Des Moines; and stepdaughter, Brenda White (Doug) of Belmond. She is also survived by seven grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
A reception will be held at the Faith Assembly of God Church 504 N Second St., after the service.

Delia, the daughter of Albert and Jennie Eekhoff VanderPloeg, was born March 7, 1915, near Kanawha. She lived her entire life in the Kanawha area.
Delia graduated from Kanawha High School with the class of 1932 and served as the senior class president. She then graduated from the teaching program at the Iowa Teacher’s College in Cedar Falls and taught country school in the Corwith area.
On October 14, 1940, Delia married Tom Delger and to this union three children were born. Delia was a ‘stay at home’ mom until her children were older. Then she clerked in a local grocery store, sold Avon, helped the town clerk write out the water bills and did the bookkeeping for her husband’s business. Delia was known to generously share her cooking and baking especially her “famous” circle bread and divinity.
She was a confessing member of the Kanawha Christian Reformed Church where she was involved in serving her Lord in many ways. Even when old age dimmed her eyesight, she read and studied her Bible everyday and continued to share with and care for those around her.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Virginia Christians and husband, Ron, of Kanawha; two sons, Timothy and wife, Linda, of Des Moines and Paul of Kanawha; six grandchildren, Karen Parham and her husband, Percy, Todd Christians and his wife, Diana, Dr. Kathleen Christians and Charles Christians, Shelley Bougher and husband, Dan, and Brent Delger; five great-grandchildren, Taylor and Joshua Christians, Danielle Parham, Arianna Christians and Carson Bougher; and one sister, Ann Blank; and her husband, Raymond, of Kanawha.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Tom in 2000; two brothers, four sisters and two grandsons.

HENRY, Ill. — Paris A. Di Gregorio, 87, a resident of Henry, Ill., since 1951, died Wednesday (Feb. 28, 2007) at 5:55 p.m. at the Heartland Health Care in Henry.
Paris was born Jan. 20, 1920, in Farendala, Italy, to Anthony and Nancy (Puccella) Di Gregorio. He married Mildred Jean (Koppen), Dec. 26, 1943, in Phoenix, Ariz. She survives in Henry, Ill.
Also surviving are two daughters, Nancy Kaye (Charles) Morgan of East Peoria, Ill., Mary Ann (Wayne) Magnuson of Henry, Ill.; and one son, Michael Paris (Laurie) Di Gregorio, of Germantown Hills, Ill.; one brother, Nicholas J. Di Gregorio, of Mason City, Iowa. Paris has 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
His parents, two sisters, Loretta Frank and Yolanda Gibbs, one brother, Nichola, preceded him in death.
Paris graduated from the University of Northern Iowa. He was a district sales manager for Clay Equipment for over 35 years, retiring in 1986. Paris enlisted in the National Guard in 1938. He later served in the United States Army infantry, 133rd Infantry, 34th Division, in the European Theater during World War II. He reached the rank of captain, being discharged in December 1947, receiving the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star.
Paris was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Henry, the Henry American Legion, VFW, Knights of Columbus and the Elks.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Calvert-Johnson & McKitrick Memorial Home in Henry, Ill., with a prayer service at 5 p.m.
Funeral mass will be 11:30 a.m. Monday, March 5, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Henry, Ill., with Father Tom Mizeur and Harold Schmidt officiating. The Henry American Legion will conduct military services. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services. Inurnment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Henry, at a later date.

Eugene T. ‘Gene’ Cramer
THOR — Eugene T. (Gene) Cramer, 84, of Thor, passed away Wednesday (Feb. 28, 2007) at the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital with his family at his side.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 5, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, rural Vincent, with the Rev. Bill VanNostrand officiating. Interment will be held at Vernon Township Lutheran Cemetery, rural Dows.

Eugene Cramer, son of Jelske and Helena (Terry) Cramer, was born May 2, 1922, at Clarion, Iowa. He attended Wall Lake Township No. 5 country school and graduated from Blairsburg High School with the class of 1940 and from Webster City Junior College in 1942. He served from 1944-1946 during World War II with the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater.
Eugene was united in marriage to Irene Johnson of Dows on June 26, 1946, at Vernon Lutheran Church, Dows. They farmed in Wall Lake Township until 1959, when they moved to their farm near Thor. Eugene continued farming and worked at USG and Mead Containers until retiring for health reasons in 1979.
He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Vincent and a life member of VFW Post 1856 in Fort Dodge.
He had a life-long passion for music, from playing saxophone in his high school band to being a self-taught stringed musician. While guitar was his instrument of choice, any instrument that had strings provided playing enjoyment to him. In his retirement years, he had a regular jam session schedule as well as performing with various local musicians at area nursing homes and senior centers. As he always played for personal enjoyment, he was never opposed to those occasional “paying gigs.”
Eugene was preceded in death by his wife, Irene, of 43 years in October 1989.
He is survived by two children, daughter, Terri (David) Schroeder, of Ventura; son Rand E. (Anita) Cramer, of Thor; two grandchildren, Capt. Michael (Julie) Schroeder of Hanscom AFB, Boston, and Andi (Damien) DeLozier of Elk Grove, Calif.; three great-grandchildren: Britain, Brannon and Brenna Schroeder.
At the time of his passing, Eugene was a resident of Springvale Assisted Living in Humboldt where he had resided since January 2006.

Elmer W. Edel was born Feb. 16, 1919, at Haverhill, Iowa, a son of Charles and Anna (Stalzer) Edel. He was united in marriage to Madonna Feeney on Feb. 7, 1948, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Mason City.
Elmer attended St. Joseph Catholic Schools, Mason City, and was a graduate of St. Joseph Catholic High School and the University of Iowa. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a pilot for B-24 aircraft. Following his discharge, Elmer returned to Mason City where he began Edel Music Co., which he operated for more than 45 years, retiring in 1998.
He was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan. He held memberships at St. Joseph Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus.
Elmer is survived by three daughters, Susan (Jacob) Beck, Boulder, Colo., Ellen (Jerry) McAndrews, Lenexa, Kan., Elizabeth (Stephen) Gales, Mason City; a son, Stephen (Cathy) Edel, Minneapolis, Minn.; eight grandchildren, Chelsea Satter, Laura McAndrews, Patrick McAndrews, Matthew McAndrews, Mitzi McAndrews, Nicholas Gales, Jenna Gales and Julia Gales; a sister, Joan Stover, St. Paul, Minn.; a brother in-law, John Hofler, Nora Springs; and many nieces and nephews.

ROCKFORD — Michael G. Trettin, 54, of Rockford, died peacefully Saturday, (March 3, 2007) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City following a five-month battle with cancer.

Michael George Trettin was born July 11, 1952, the son of George and Arlene (Koehler) Trettin in Charles City. He graduated from Rockford High School in the class of 1970. After graduating from North Iowa Area Community College in 1972, Michael began his career in agriculture on his family’s farm.
On Sept. 6, 1980, he was united in marriage to Karen Staudt at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Roseville. Michael had a love of the land and soil. He was a conscientious steward of the land he farmed, with a deep respect for nature and all growing things. He was also a passionate gardener, able to make anything grow. His interests included bicycling, fishing, and camping. Michael’s greatest love was his wife and children. He is remembered as a quiet, gentle person who was content to sit back, watch and listen.
Living family members include his wife of 26 years, Karen Trettin, of Rockford; two children, Cole Trettin of Rockford and a daughter, Kelly Trettin, of Iowa City; his parents, George and Arlene Trettin of Rockford; two sisters, Connie (Roger) Baylor of Sherrill and Carol (Mel) Boring of Eastsound, Wash.; a brother, Tim (Denyce) Trettin of Rockford; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Gerald ‘Jerry’ D. Latch
MASON CITY — Gerald D. (Jerry) Latch, 69, of Mason City, died Saturday (March 3, 2007) at home with his family around him.
Jerry was born on Oct. 12, 1937, in Goodell, Iowa, the son of Glen and Florence (Wilkins) Latch.
He was a 1956 graduate of Rockwell High School. After high school, he joined the U.S. Air Force.
On July 2, 1960, Jerry was united in marriage to Judy Hopes in Rockwell. He retired from Wonder Bread after 31 years in 1999. He enjoyed hunting and in 1999 he got his trophy buck at Pilot Knob. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle with Chuck and sidekick, Vicki, and numerous rides with the kids.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Judy; three daughters, Carol and her husband, John Schutz, of Mason City, Julie and her husband, Dan Miller, of Rockford and Pam and her husband, Rob Flugge, of Rockwell; two sons, Steve Latch and Brad Latch and Lisa, all of Mason City; eight grandchildren, Dan and Dustin Nicholson of Rockford, BJ Schutz and fiancee, Bailey, of Mason City, Jason Schutz of Mason City, Sarah Hayes of Omaha, Neb., Emily Latch of Alden, Minn., Lindsey Buchholz of Rockwell and Alexis Latch of Marble Rock; four great grandchildren, Cristopher Nicholson of Wescosville, Penn., Austin, Kelly Jr. and Beti-Jo Hayes, all of Omaha, Neb.; several nieces and nephews and a sister-in-law, Betty Latch, of North Liberty; special friends, Chuck and Vicki Ostercamp and Christa Harms; also his dog, Spencer.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Elroy and Clement and sister Gladys Trees.
According to his wishes, his body will be cremated and there will be no services or visitation.

DES MOINES — Walter Henry Moehle, 75, passed away peacefully Wednesday (Feb. 28, 2007) at his son’s home following a courageous battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church. Burial with military honors will take place at Laurel Hill Cemetery.

Walter was born May 29, 1931, in Sheffield to Ella and George Moehle. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He worked at American Can and received his 25-year pin before retiring. Walter enjoyed his family, fishing, NASCAR racing and “tinkering.”
Walter was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy. He is survived by his sons, John Moehle and Mike (Lesa) Moehle; his daughters, LouAnn (Mike) Murphy and Allyn (Marty) Wellander; his brother, Bob Moehle and his seven grandchildren.

CHARLES CITY — Margaret M. Holland, 89, of Charles City, died Friday, March 2, 2007, at the Colonial Manor in Elma.
A funeral Mass for Margaret Holland will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Charles City. The Rev. Carl Ries and Monsignor Stanley J. Hayek will concelebrate the Mass. Inurnment will be at a later date in Calvary Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City from 3 to 7 p.m. today, where rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. and there will be a vigil scriptural wake service at 6 p.m. Visitation will continue an hour prior to the Mass on Tuesday.
Margaret was born on March 20, 1917, near Floyd, Iowa, the daughter of Dennis and Grace Leslie (Drumm) Holland. She graduated from Floyd High School in 1933 and then moved to the outskirts of Charles City. She graduated from Iowa State Teachers’ College with a bachelor of arts degree in 1949. Graduate work was pursued at the University of Northern Iowa and the University of Iowa. She taught in Floyd County rural schools for nine years, Floyd School for two years and at Charles City Junior High School from 1949 to 1982.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, serving there as lector and member of St. Theresa Circle, the Rosary Society, and the Parish Council. She was a life member of the National Education Association, the National Council of Teachers of English, the American Association of University Women, and the Floyd County Historical Association. She was a charter member of the Charles City Arts Association and the Iowa Phi Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa. She served twelve years on the Charles City Public Library Board and was a member of the Charles City Women’s Club. She was a member of the Heritage Club and loved to travel but always remarked that her favorite part of the trip was opening her own back door on return to Charles City.
Margaret touched the lives of many young people as she taught eighth grade English in Room 222 at the junior high school for 33 years. She enlivened the classroom with a daily “Jumbles” activity from the Des Moines Register. She had many and varied interests and talents but remained an eternal amateur. She loved to have guests in her home and her favorite people were those who would stay to share a meal with her. Special childhood memories include time spent with her brother and three cousins.
Margaret is survived by cousins, Mrs. Marjorie (Holland) Reed, by Richard Bennett and his daughters, Mrs. Michael (Maria) Westfall and Nancy Bennett of Woodbury, Minn., and Sister M. Cephas Wichman, RSM, and John McAleer.
She was welcomed into several family circles particularly the Dorothy “Dot” Halbach family. Special friends with whom she shared were Sister Mary Angela Feeney, PBVM of Dubuque and Steve Culbertson of Alaska, a favorite student. Margaret appreciated the helpfulness of Angie Smith and Ray and Donna Murray over the past several years.
Margaret was preceded in death by her mother in 1940, and her father in 1956, her brother, Robert, in 1939, and cousins including Jean Holland in 1998, and Mrs. Richard (Bette) Bennett in 2003.

Lola Marjorie Goll, the daughter of John and Viola (Robbins) Goll, was born on June 25, 1913, on a farm southwest of Garner. She was baptized and confirmed at Peace Reformed Church south of Garner. Lola attended the rural schools of Liberty Township and graduated from Garner High School in 1931. She received her teaching certificate and taught in the rural schools of Hancock County.
During the summers she continued her education at the Iowa State Teacher’s College in Cedar Falls and Drake University in Des Moines. Lola also taught school at Hayfield, Gilmore City and Clear Lake. She retired in 1978 after 43 years of teaching.
She later moved to Garner to be closer to family. Lola had been a resident at Prairie View Apartments for a number of years. She enjoyed doing handwork, crafts and playing cards.
She was an active member of Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church and belonged to the Garner Wa-Tan Ye Club and the Retired Teachers Birthday Club.
Lola is survived by her sister, Mildred Bredlow, of Garner; two nieces, Vivian Bovenmyer of Garner and Marian (Allan) DeWitt of Garner; a nephew, Denis (Barb) Bredlow of Ravenwood, Mo.; two nieces-in-law, Harriet Stromer of West Des Moines and Thelma (Bob) Gates of Lake Tahoe, Nev.; and many great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Ruby Stromer and Marie Pattison; and nephews, Delwyn and Norman Stromer.

Yvonne Gloria Wiele was born on February 12, 1924, at her family home near Joice, a daughter of H. Joseph and Opal (Hovland) Tweed. She was baptized at Beaver Creek Lutheran Church, rural Joice. She attended several schools, both town and country before graduating from Lake Mills High School. She then attended Hamilton Business College. After graduating, Yvonne worked in the office of the Chicago and North Western Railroad in Mason City.
Yvonne was united in marriage with Fred (Fritz) Wiele on Feb. 12, 1946, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Mason City. They purchased a farm near Dougherty where she lived until 2004, at which time she moved into the Sunrise Apartments in Sheffield. Yvonne was a member of Zion St. John Lutheran Church where she served as treasurer for the Sunday School and with the Church Circles. She was also a 4-H Leader and was active with her neighbors having frequent potluck dinners. Yvonne also worked as the bookkeeper at Sukup Manufacturing in Sheffield for 16 years before retirement. For the last several months Yvonne lived at the Sheffield Care Center.
Yvonne enjoyed her family and grandchildren. Christmas was very special to her because her family always gathered together.
Left to cherish her memory are her son: Darrel (Joyce) Wiele, Dougherty; daughter, Lynette (Mark) Muhlenbruch, Dows; son-in-law, Stephen (Burnadette) Morford, Bettendorf; grandchildren: James W.F. Wiele, Aaron Morford, Ryan Morford, Amanda Morford, Morgan Muhlenbruch and fiancé, Kyle Wadsworth, Keslie Muhlenbruch, Fonda Muhlenbruch; step-grandchildren: Dave and Mike Allen; brothers and sisters: Dorothy (Hartley) Alden, Bonnie DeWall, Ray (Barb) Tweed, Roger (Lib) Tweed, Mike (Jeannine) Tweed; sisters-in-law, Iris Tweed, Matilda Schroeder and Ruth Wiele.

LaVern Arthur Walk was born on Oct. 25, 1923, in Grafton, the son of Alfred and Katie (Rademaker) Walk. He graduated from Grafton High School. LaVern enlisted in the United States Navy, serving in the Pacific during World War II. He was stationed in Columbus, Ohio, where he was a Navy mechanic, later being honorably discharged. While there he met Thelma McCarley. They were united in marriage on Oct. 6, 1946, in Gallipolis, Ohio. To this union, three daughters were born. LaVern and Thelma moved to Grafton in 1947. LaVern took over his dad’s machine shop, later working for Moorman’s Feed Company until his retirement. LaVern continued to work for Worth County Mutual Insurance Company until the time of his death.
LaVern loved fishing, golfing, hunting, and traveling, especially taking family trips to Minnesota. His greatest love was spending time with his family and friends. He was a lifetime member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church and Grafton American Legion Post 616.
LaVern is survived by his wife, Thelma Walk, Grafton; daughters, Jackie (David) Fandel, Mason City, Jeanine Walk, Apple Valley, Minn., Connie Sue (Tony) Oliver, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; grandchildren, Nicole (Eric) Umbarger, Grimes, Shae Fandel and fiancé, J.J. Thompson, Johnston, Aubrey Marsh and Brian Oliver, both of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; great-grandchildren, Lindzie, Sydney, Jacob, and Grace Umbarger; one brother, Rueben (Maxine) Walk, Grafton; along with many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Betty married her high school sweetheart, Lawrence “Larry” Secory, on Sept. 14, 1946, at Zion Lutheran Church, Clear Lake
She enjoyed her monthly class reunion meetings, attending prayer groups at Galilean, antiquing, dining out, her dogs, but most of all, spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids. She was well-known for her Texas Sheet Cake and her potato salad.
She was a lifetime member of Zion Lutheran Church.
Betty is survived by her three children: Joel Secory and his wife, Julie; Jon Secory and his wife, Sue; and Sue Dwyer and her husband, Kim, all of Clear Lake; nine grandchildren: Joel Secory II and his wife, Amanda, Clear Lake; Dr. Adam Secory and his wife, Jaime, Waukee; Allison Secory, West Des Moines; Ted Secory, West Des Moines; Michael Dwyer and his wife, Shelby, Clear Lake; Tim Secory, West Des Moines; Scott Dwyer, West Des Moines; Andrew “Rip” Secory, Iowa City; and Cory Dwyer, Iowa City; two great-grandchildren, Quintin Masteller and Elle Ryan Secory.

Wesley Clyde Cagley was born July 9, 1959 in Charles City, to Hugh Ed and Maryjean Louise (Ward) Cagley. “Wes” as he was affectionately known by family and friends, attended school and received his education in Charles City. Wes honorably and faithfully served his country in the Iowa National Guard.
On April 12, 1980 ,Wes was united in marriage to Karla J. Huffman in Charles City. He was a lifelong resident of Charles City. Wes devoted 20 years of employment at the Sherman Nursery in Charles City.
Some of Wes’ interests included fishing, hunting, collecting old marbles and coins.
Grateful for having had the privilege of sharing in Wes’ life are his wife, Karla Cagley of Charles City; his mother, Maryjean Louise Cagley of Charles City; three children, Christina Cagley (Thad Smith) of Garner, Jason Cagley (Tracy Siverly) of Charles City and Matt Cagley of Charles City; three granddaughters, Emily, Breanna and Elizabeth “Lizzy”; two sisters, Kelley (Brent) Waid of Charles City, and Sherri (Verl) Martin of Charles City; two brothers, Nic (Cheryl) Cagley of Floyd and Jeff Cagley of California.
