Irvin Wilde

OSAGE — Irvin Wilde, 83, of rural Osage, died Sunday (June 4, 2006) at Hospice, Mitchell County Regional Health Center, Osage, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Rock Township, rural Osage, with the Rev. Wayne Ellingson and AiM Irmgard Ellingson officiating. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, 207 S. School, St. Ansgar from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. today and continue one hour prior to services on Wednesday at the church.

Irvin Walter Daniel Wilde was born on February 9, 1923, rural Osage, the son of Henry and Elizabeth (Neuman) Wilde. He was baptized and later confirmed on March 21, 1937, at St. John’s Lutheran Church. A life-long member of the church, he held various offices on the Church Council. His faith and church family were very important to him.

He attended Rock No. 5 school, rural Osage.

He was united in marriage to Irene Eske on February 15, 1942. They farmed together for 55 years, raising livestock and grain.

Family and friends will remember Irvin’s generosity, helping others, hard work, and especially his sense of humor.

As his health declined in late 2005, he became a resident at St. Ansgar Good Samaritan Center where he was cared for by many supportive staff members.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Henry and Elizabeth Wilde; mother-in-law, Lydia Sawyer, and her husband, Gale; infant daughter; brothers, Arnold, Roy, and Elmer Wilde; sisters, Alice Kuntz, Wilma Hackbart, and Vianora Feldt.

Irvin is survived by his wife of 64 years, Irene; daughters, Jan Rysavy of St. Ansgar and Karen Kittleson and her husband, Lowell, of Osage; grandsons, Pete Rysavy, his wife, Heather, and their son, Logan, of St. Ansgar, Nic Rysavy and his fiancee, Heidi Fossey, and his sons, Eric and Austin of St. Ansgar; Ryan Kittleson and Amy Felper and their children, Jake and Nate Felper, and Gianna Kittleson of Osage; granddaughter, Lauryn Muller and her husband, Zach, of Coralville; sisters-in-law, Rose Wilde of Osage, and Ruth Wilde of Osage.

Audrey G. Johnson

RUTHVEN — Audrey G. Johnson, 80, of Ruthven, died Tuesday (May 30, 2006) at Spencer Municipal Hospital, Spencer.

Funeral services were held on Friday, June 2, 2006, at Zion Lutheran Church in Ruthven with the Rev. Luther Thoresen officiating and interment at the Calvary Cemetery, Ruthven.

Audrey Gertrude Helene Larson Johnson, daughter of Nels Bernard and Thea Bertina (Hauglund) Larson was born on Nov. 30, 1925, in Mason City, Iowa. She attended school in Mason City, graduating, from Mason City High School.

Following graduation, Audrey worked in department stores and was later employed as a Laboratory Technician for State Brand Creamery in Mason City from 1943 to 1948.

On Aug. 7, 1948, Audrey was united in marriage to Eugene Charles Johnson in Mason City. To this union three children were born. Audrey and Eugene moved to Ruthven in 1958. Audrey was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her love for her family was endless and she enjoyed her home. Audrey liked golfing at the Lost Island Country Club. She was a member of the Ruthven American Legion.

Audrey was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eugene, on March 12, 2004; a brother, Les Larson; a sister, Beatrice Larson; and a sister-in-law, Marie Larson.

She is survived by her children, Martha Boss and her husband, Randy, of Omaha, Neb., Thomas Johnson and his wife, Christine of Escanaba, Mich., and Sue Anne Stoermer and her husband, Steve, of Dickens, Iowa; thirteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; a sister-in law, Mildred Larson, of Houston, Texas; two nieces, Mariana Larson Walker and Anna Marie Larson Bowlin; as well as many other relatives and friends.

Jacob A. ‘Jake’ Rothamel

JOHNSTON — Jacob A. “Jake” Rothamel, 93, of Johnston, Iowa, formerly of Mason City, died Thursday (June 1, 2006) in Johnston.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Family Catholic Church, 714 N. Adams, Mason City, with the Rev. Jon Seda officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Mason City. A scriptural wake service will be held at 7 p.m.

Memorials may be given to the Jacob A. Rothamel Memorial Fund.

Jacob was born on March 15, 1913, on Ellis Island, the son of Martin and Catherine (Baskall) Rothamel. He attended schools in Manly.

Jacob married Isabel K. Rauen on Oct. 4, 1938, in Johnsburg, Minn. They moved to Mason City in 1969. Jacob worked as a conductor for the Rock Island Railroad for 36 years. He retired in 1976.

He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and the Railroad Trainmen. He enjoyed antiques and railroad artifacts and coins.

Jacob is survived by a son, Roger L. Rothamel, and his wife, Pat, of Urbandale; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Jacob was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Isabel, in 1999; daughter, Cecelia Fox, in 1997; one brother; and two sisters.

Robert P. Hentges

MASON CITY — Robert P. Hentges, 87, of 4 Third St. N.W., died Saturday (June 3, 2006) at the Good Shepherd Health Center in Mason City.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Holy Family Catholic Church, 714 N. Adams in Mason City with the Rev. Jon Seda officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Alta Vista. Military rites will be conducted by the Paul Johann VFW Post No. 4069.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave. in Mason City. A scriptural wake service will be held at 6:30 p.m. with a Knights of Columbus Rosary at 7 p.m.

Memorials may be given to the Robert P. Hentges Memorial Fund.

Bob was born March 25, 1919, in Alta Vista, Iowa, the son of Peter and Susan (Lentz) Hentges. He attended school through the 11th grade in Alta Vista and then graduated from Charles City Immaculate Conception High School. Bob served with the U.S. Army during World War II.

He married Mercedes M. Kramer on Feb. 6, 1946, in Alta Vista. They moved to Mason City in 1949. Bob worked for the Mason City Globe Gazette for 19 years. He then worked as a district supervisor for the State of Iowa, Department of Corrections. He retired from that position in 1981.

Bob was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus 3rd and 4th Degree, 20-year member of SCORE, and a life member of the VFW.

He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, reading the paper and sports, especially about the Minnesota Twins.

Bob is survived by his wife, Mercedes M. Hentges, of Mason City; sons, James “Jim” Hentges and wife, Vickie, of Mason City, John “Jack” Hentges and Debbie Woodliff of LaCrosse, Wis.; grandchildren, Allison Antes and husband, Michael, Melissa Hentges, and fiancé, Ben Swyter, and Benjamin Hentges; great-granddaughter, Lauren Antes; brothers, Clem Hentges and wife, Lillian, of Fort Dodge, Paul Hentges and wife, Burta, of Alta Vista, sisters, Maxine Neuhauser of Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif., Marilu Pospichal and husband, Jerry, of Riceville; and several nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Clifford, Elroy, and Reynold.

Richard ‘Red’ Werle

UNIONVILLE, Mo. — Richard “Red” Werle, 65, of Unionville, Mo., died Wednesday (May 3, 2006) at the Putnam County Care Center after a battle with cancer.

His body was cremated. Interment will be at 12:30 p.m. Friday, June 9, in the Manly Cemetery, Manly, Iowa.

Richard Werle was born Sept. 12, 1940, in Manly, Iowa. He was the son of Wilma Werle and the stepson of Dave Garver. He attended school in Manly and worked at the Northwood Anchor and Comet Lanes in Manly, and also the daily newspaper in Newton, prior to moving to Missouri.

He was married to Shirley (Abrahams) Johnson.

Richard moved to Unionville when the Dunlap Company established itself there. He was the head of the art department and often designed their labels. Richard enjoyed his job because he loved to tinker with computers. He made it clear to those close to him that WHO radio station was his favorite. Richard enjoyed watching boxing and Nascar, as long as the Ford vehicles were winning.

Survivors include two daughters, Nancy (Phil) Walts of Louisville, Ky., and Vicky Timblin of Unionville, Mo., seven grandchildren and two great-granddaughters.

Jacques Revaux

ANGOULEME, France — Jacques Revaux of Angouleme, France, died Thursday, May 18, 2006.

Funeral services were held in Angouleme on Saturday, May 20.

Jacques was born Nov. 6, 1920, the son of Madeleine and Rene Revaux. He was the beloved brother of Ginette Revaux, and beloved uncle of Danielle Willson, Hans Revaux and Pamela Hickman, all of Mason City. He was also the beloved uncle and godfather of Michele Huntley-Larsen (Gene) of Nora Springs.

He is also survived by his wife of 56 years, Louisette, and five daughters: Claudine (Michel), Eliane (Jean Claude), Catherine, Corinne and Agnes (Jean Claude), all of France, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Jeanette and a brother, Jean.

Jacques was a special man, very intelligent, with a great sense of humor. He loved having his family around and entertaining everyone with his clowning. His passions were politics and sports and we all remember many lively and spirited conversations around the dinner table.

He will be sadly missed by his family, but will remain unforgettable for those who knew him and loved him, and he will be in our hearts forever.

 


DuWayne Stuart ‘Buck’ Holmes

MANLY — DuWayne Stuart “Buck” Holmes, 73, of 600 South Southside Court, died early Monday (June 5, 2006) at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa, Mason City.

According to his wishes his body has been cremated.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 10, 2006, at Ward Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 North Fourth Street., Clear Lake, with the Rev. Mark Young officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Darlene C. Holmes died Sept. 5, 1998. Darlene and Buck will be inurned together in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City, with full military honors conducted by members of the Mason City Veteran’s Memorial Association.

Evelyn E. Schramm

KLEMME — Evelyn E. Schramm, 97, of Klemme died Monday (June 5, 2006) at the Belmond Health Care Center.

Evelyn Ethel Schramm, the daughter of Gus and Lydia (Hesley) Schramm, was born Dec. 26, 1908, on a farm south of Hayfield. She attended Hayfield Consolidated School, graduating in 1927. Evelyn later continued her education at Hamilton Business College in Mason City.

In 1929 she moved to Chicago where she worked at Moody Bible Institute and also attended classes. In the 1930s she returned to Garner where she worked for seven years as an assistant to Dr. Alder, a chiropractor in Forest City.

In 1940, Evelyn moved to Seattle, Wash., and worked at Boeing Aircraft for several years. She then worked in Omaha for an airplane manufacturer until 1945. In 1949 Evelyn moved back to Chicago where she worked for Moody Bible Institute until 1960. In 1964 she began working as a secretary for Kemper Insurance in Chicago until retiring in 1973.

In December of 1973, Evelyn moved to Kanawha and in 1974 to Klemme. Evelyn sold and delivered livestock feed for McNess Inc. for 22 years, retiring in August of 1995.

She enjoyed people, gardening, helping others and remodeling her home.

She is survived by her sister, Ruby Lackore of Clear Lake; niece, Doreen (Richard) Johnson of Garner; her nephew’s wife, Betty Lackore of Clear Lake; special friends, Donna and Kenneth Weiland of Klemme; and many great nieces.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Floy Lackore; brother-in-law, Clark Lackore; and a nephew, Doran Lackore.

Raymond Joseph Bieth

MASON CITY — Raymond Joseph Bieth died on Tuesday (June 6, 2006) in Phoenix, Ariz., after a short battle with cancer.

Born in Mason City, Iowa, in 1920, Raymond went to St. Joseph High School and spent summers on the farm in Minnesota with his grandparents.

Raymond joined the United States Marine Corps the summer of 1940, spending six years in the service. After getting out of the service, he decided to head back to San Diego, (Camp Pendleton) a place he thought was so beautiful, but on his way he met a girl that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with, his wife, Vonda Lou.

In 1946 he went to work for Western Electric and spent 36 years there before retiring in 1984. His retirement years were spent with his family.

Raymond leaves behind his wife, Vonda Lou, of 56 years; son, Robert and his wife, Judy; daughters, Claudia and Paula; grandkids, Carla, Rochelle, Colette, Katie, Brandi, Bobby, Tiana and Tanner.

All services will be held at SS. Simon and Jude Cathedral, 6351 N. 27th Ave., Phoenix, Ariz., at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 8, 2006.

 


Arden T. ‘Bud’ Madson

CLEAR LAKE — Arden T. “Bud” Madson, 73, 2416 North Shore Drive, Clear Lake, passed away peacefully at home with his family at his side on Tuesday (June 6, 2006)

For the past year, Bud battled hard and fought courageously with cancer.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, June 9, 2006, at Zion Lutheran Church, 112 N. Fourth St., Clear Lake, with the Rev. Dean Hess officiating.

A visitation with the family will be held from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel.

According to his wishes, his body has been cremated.

Memorials may be given to the Arden T. Madson Memorial Fund.

Bud was born Jan. 14, 1933, in Henrytown, Minn., the son of Talbert and Helen (Helgeson) Madson. He graduated from Preston High School, Preston, Minn. Bud married Phyllis Putz on August 24, 1952, in Fountain City, Wis.

Bud started in the bakery business at Holland’s in Rochester, Minn. He was the owner of a small bakery in Blair, Wis., and two Mr. Donuts stores at Sioux City, Iowa. He also worked in an in-store Bakery at Dixon, Ill., and in Cedar Rapids. Later he worked for International Multifoods in tech service at Minneapolis, Minn.

Bud attended ice sculpture and cake decorating school at Wilton School, Chicago, Ill. Bud and his family settled in Clear Lake where he went to work for the Clear Lake Bakery for 33 years.

Bud was an avid golfer and fisherman. For the past 10 years they enjoyed going to Dauphin Island, Ala., with friends during the winter months. He especially loved being with his family and grandchildren.

Bud is survived by his wife of 54 years, Phyllis Madson, Clear Lake; four children: Dr. Michael Madson, Mountain View, Calif., James Madson and his wife, Paula, Ames, Pati Workman and her husband, Mike, Milford, Iowa, and Jon Madson and his wife, Shari, Oakdale, Minn.; five grandchildren: Kayla, Kodak, Tenn., Kimberly, Cedar Falls, Kyle, Dodgeville, Wis., Cameron and Noah, Ames; his mother, Helen Madson, Mabel, Minn.; two brothers: Warren Madson and his wife, Annabel, Calmar, Iowa, and Tom Madson and Jackie, Mabel, Minn.; two sisters: Joanne Erickson, Cincinnati, Ohio, and Susan O’Neil, Spring Valley, Minn.; two brothers-in-law: Donald Putz and his wife, Dorothy, Osseo, Wis., and Harry Putz and his wife, Judy, Fountain City, Wis.; sister-in-law, Janice Wogen and her husband, Jon, Olivia, Minn.; and many nieces and nephews.

Roger V. Smith

NORA SPRINGS — Roger V. Smith, 74, of 616 North Iowa Avenue, Nora Springs, died Tuesday (June 6, 2006) at the Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa, Mason City.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 9, 2006, at the Eden Presbyterian Church, 3105 Glass Ave., Rudd, with the Rev. John N. Bates officiating. Burial will be in Eden Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Rudd, with full military honors being conducted by the Nora Springs America Legion H.D.S. Post 449.

Marvin L. Calvert

CHARLES CITY — Marvin L. Calvert died Monday (June 5, 2006) at the Floyd County Memorial Hospital in Charles City.

Memorial services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, June 9, 2006, at the Richardson Funeral Home, 615 Main St., Cedar Falls. Inurnment will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 10, 2006, in the Rock Falls Cemetery, Rock Falls, Iowa.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association or First United Methodist Church, Cedar Falls.

Marvin was born Jan. 4, 1911, the son of O.T. and Ella (Caygill) Calvert on the family farm near Rock Falls. He was a 1927 graduate of Rock Falls High School and attended Hamilton College in Mason City.

On June 8, 1935, Marvin was united in marriage to Dorothy Edgar in Rock Falls. She died May 11, 1972. He was employed at Viking Pump in Cedar Falls for 47 years, retiring as vice president in charge of advertising.

He was past president of the Cedar Falls Lions Club, member of the Boardman Boosters Sunday school class, Methodist Men, taught ninth-grade Sunday school, was publisher of the Viking Vacuum News Letter, and worked at setting up the Viking Pump room at the Wyth House.

Marvin loved fishing at McGregor, his many trips abroad, photography and gardening.

Marvin is survived by his daughter, Mary E. (William) Rechkemmer of Waverly; granddaughters, Dr. Penny Rechkemmer of Baltimore, Md., and Holly (Jay) Bark of Nashua; four great-grandsons, Levi, Ramsey, Zachary and Blaine Bark, all of Nashua.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; infant daughter, Mary Kay; grandson, David Rechkemmer; sisters, Ruby Calvert and Hazel Christensen; and brothers, Fay, Glenn, Eldro and Ray Calvert.

MASON CITY — Beth Vincent Elder, 94, of 300 Second St. N.E., died Monday, (June 5, 2006) at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa.

A service celebrating the life of Beth will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church, 119 S. Georgia, Mason City, with the Rev. Jo Frahm Watkins officiating.

There will be no visitation. Her body has been donated to the University of Iowa School of Medicine, Iowa City.

Roger V. Smith

NORA SPRINGS — Roger V. Smith, 74, of 616 North Iowa Avenue, Nora Springs, died Tuesday (June 6, 2006) at the Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa, Mason City.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 9, 2006, at the Eden Presbyterian Church, 3105 Glass Avenue, Rudd, with the Rev. John N. Bates officiating. Burial will be in Eden Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Rudd, with full military honors being conducted by the Nora Springs America Legion H.D.S. Post 449.

Roger Vernon Smith was born on August 25, 1931, to the late Donald W. and Marguerite E. (Vernon) Smith, of Stanwood, Iowa.

Roger was a 1953 graduate of Iowa State College (University) in animal husbandry. He was an active member of Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity, Meats Judging Team and ROTC. Upon graduation he was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force, where he served on active duty until 1956.

In 1958, Roger graduated with a master’s of science degree in agricultural economics from the University of Arizona and began his 31-year career in the banking industry.

In 1970, Roger moved to Nora Springs and worked at the Nora Springs First State Bank, where he was a banker for 17 years. Later, Roger became an insurance and investment advisor with the Principal Financial Group and founding partner in the Nora Springs Insurance Agency in 1991. Roger continued advising until his retirement in 2005.

While working at his first banking position in Stanwood, Roger met Karen Jean Hinrichs, and they were wed on Oct. 14, 1962. Together they raised three children in Nora Springs, where they still reside. They enjoyed golfing together and were able to travel extensively in retirement.

From childhood, Roger had a love of horses and he was passionate about breeding, raising, and riding quarter horses. Memorable moments were when colts were born each spring, building his own acreage, and going on trail rides with his children.

Roger was very active in the community of Nora Springs and the church. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Consistory and Shrine, American Legion, Lions and Kiwanis Club.  Roger served in many positions of leadership at Eden Presbyterian Church, Rudd, and was devoted to God.

Family was very important to Roger and he loved spending time with them.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Karen; his son, Ross, and his two children, Shelby and Kyle, Silt, Colo,.; two daughters, Kimberly (Chad) Anderson, Green Bay, Wis.; and Kristen (Mike) Dupont and their children, Tyler and Andrew, Marion; and one sister, Margot Ann (Gale) Tschantz, Dallas, Texas.

The family would like to extend special thanks to friends who supported the family during Roger’s illness and to the nursing staff at Nora Springs Care Center.

Juanita L. Jones

MASON CITY — Juanita L. Jones, 88, of 300 Second St. N.E., died Monday, April 24, 2006, at the Good Shepherd Health Center.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church, 119 S. Georgia with the Rev. Jo Frahm Watkins officiating. Inurnment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice of North Iowa, First United Methodist Church or the Mason City Public Library.

Juanita was born on April 9, 1918, in Montello, Wis., the daughter of James and Lucille Shannon. Due to the death of her father during the flu epidemic of 1918, she was adopted by her maternal aunt, Ella and her husband, Roy D. Austin. They moved to Mason City when Mr. Austin became manager of the Iowa Hardware Mutual Insurance Company, which later became Iowa Kemper Mutual. Juanita attended Mason City schools and graduated from high school in 1936. She attended Grinnell College.

Juanita was united in marriage to Edward C. Jones on September 3, 1938, in Mason City, where they spent most of their married life. Juanita was a member of the First United Methodist Church, a former member of Eastern Star and a long-time member of the O.T. Study Club. She was a volunteer for the Red Cross, past board member of the YWCA and a Girl Scout leader. Juanita loved the game of golf and spent many happy times with friends and family out on the golf course. She won several tournaments and one year won both the Mason City Country Club and the City nine-hole tourneys. She even had a hole-in-one at the Mason City Country Club in July of 1992. Juanita spent many years supporting the Iowa Hawkeyes when her husband Eddie was president of the I- Club. She spent the last fifteen months of her life at the Good Shepherd Health Center and Cornerstone Assisted Living where she made many new wonderful friends.

Juanita is survived by her four children, James Jones and wife, Janet, of Sequim, Wash., Penny Sparks and husband, Paul, of Green Valley, Ariz., Susan Jordan and husband, Andrew, of Memphis, Tenn., and Barbara Cady and husband, Art, of Hampton; 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; three nieces and three nephews.

Juanita was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward in 1998; and one brother, Stratton Shannon, in 2002.

Marvin ‘Speed’ Wade

MASON CITY — Marvin “Speed” Wade, 80, of 644 S. Taylor Ave., died Wednesday (June 7, 2006) at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa, Mason City.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 10, 2006, at the Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapel 126 Third St. N.E. with the Rev. Thomas Healey officiating. Military rites will be provided by the Clear Lake VFW Honor Guard. Burial will be in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery, Mason City.

Marvin Kenneth Wade was born on Dec. 20, 1925, in Klemme, Iowa, to Arthur and Jeanette (Ulrich) Wade. He attended school at Klemme. Marvin later enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving his country during World War II. After his honorable discharge from the navy on March 21, 1946, Marvin moved to Mason City. He was united in marriage to Marilyn Elaine Garlock on Nov. 22, 1946 in Clear Lake. They later made their home in Mason City where Marvin was employed by Lehigh Portland Cement until he retired in 1988.

Marvin and Marilyn enjoyed traveling to Mission, Texas, where they stayed during the winter months.

Marvin was a lifetime member of the Mason City American Legion and the Clear Lake VFW. He was the past president of Boilermakers Cement Division Union No. 106, and was active in the ABATE Motorcycle Club. Marvin enjoyed gardening and was a master gardener, and he enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

Marvin is survived by one grandson; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.

Eldon Edward ‘Dick’ Schutjer

TITONKA— Eldon E. “Dick” Schutjer died Tuesday (June 6, 2006) at the Titonka Care Center where he had been a resident since May of 2006. He was 76 years of age.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 9, 2006, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Woden with Pastor Arlen Lloyd presiding. Interment with military honors will be in Buffalo Township Cemetery, Titonka.

Eldon Edward “Dick” Schutjer was born on January 23, 1930, near Woden, Iowa, to George and Gertrude (Miller) Schutjer. He attended country school near Woden and graduated from the Titonka High School, Titonka, Iowa. After his schooling, Dick served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. After his honorable discharge from the Army, Dick was married to Patricia Fields on Feb. 7, 1954, at the Lutheran Church in Mason City, Iowa. The couple lived in Mason City where Dick was a trucker for Land O’ Lakes. In 1963, Dick and Patricia moved to the Woden area, where Dick farmed and trucked. He retired from farming in 1992. On Sept. 29, 1993, Dick’s wife, Patricia preceded him in death.

Dick was a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Woden. He enjoyed participating in antique tractor pulls and watching stock car races. He also enjoyed tractor and farm shows.

Dick was married to Doris Reynolds on Aug, 27, 1994, at the Chapel of Friendship Haven in Fort Dodge, Iowa. The couple lived in Titonka. Dick and Doris enjoyed traveling and took several winter trips.

Dick died on Tuesday, June 6, 2006, at the Titonka Care Center, where he had been a resident since May of 2006. He was 76.

Dick is survived by his wife, Doris, of Titonka, and his children: Bruce Schutjer and wife, Phyllis, of Woden, Gary Schutjer and wife, Cheryl, of Albert Lea, Minn., Steve Schutjer and wife, Brenda, of Woden, Deanna Ruesink and husband, Dean, of Castlewood, S.D., and his step-children, Lynette Reynolds, Golden Valley, Minn., and Darin Reynolds and wife, Tracy, Kanawha. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, two step- grandchildren; his sister, Muriel Jensen and husband, Everett, of Humboldt.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Patricia; and two brothers, Bob and Don Schutjer.

Jacques Revaux

ANGOULEME, France — Jacques Revaux of Angouleme, France died Thursday, May 18, 2006.

Funeral services were held in Angouleme Saturday, May 20.

Jacques was born on Nov. 6, 1920, the son of Madeleine and Rene Revaux. He was the beloved brother of Ginette Revaux, beloved uncle of Danielle Willson, Hans Revaux and Pamela Hickman, all of Mason City. He as also the beloved uncle and godfather of Michele Huntley-Larsen (Gene) of Nora Springs.

He is also survived by his wife of 56 years, Louisette, and five daughters: Claudine (Michel), Eliane (Jean Claude), Catherine, Corinne and Agnes (Jean Claude) all of France and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Jeanette and a brother, Jean.

Jacques was a special man, very intelligent, with a great sense of humor. He loved having his family around and entertaining everyone with his clowning. His passions were politics and sports and we all remember many lively and spirited conversations around the dinner table. He will be sadly missed by his family, but will remain unforgettable for those who knew him and loved him, and he will be in our hearts forever.

Janet Thelma Eldora Klein

NORTHWOOD — Janet Thelma Eldora Klein, 87, of Northwood, died Tuesday, (June 6, 2006) at the Lutheran Retirement Home in Northwood.

Janet Thelma Eldora Klein was born on March 30, 1919, the daughter of Anthony and Esther (Thoen) Hrubetz. She was baptized and reaffirmed the faith of her baptism through confirmation at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Kensett. She attended and received her education in the Kensett School system, graduating from Kensett High School.

She was united in marriage to Everett Ray Klein on October 5, 1941, at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Kensett. He preceded her in death on August 21, 1999.

After their marriage, Everett and Janet began farming west of Fertile before moving north of Hanlontown. They continued to farm in the Hanlontown area before moving to the Grafton area where they farmed for 17 years. They moved to Northwood in 1965, where Everett started the Klein Painting and Repair business. Shortly after moving to Northwood, Janet began working for Carroll George Inc. in Northwood, working there for several years until her retirement.

Janet enjoyed baking cookies, find a word puzzles, Christmas with her family, gardening, flowers, going with her husband on picnics and to the Band Festival in Mason City, and being with her family and grandchildren.

She was an active member of First Lutheran Church and the Rachel Circle in Northwood.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters: Sharon Tiedeman and her husband, Dennis, of Mason City, and Cynthia Martinson and her husband, Bill, of Mason City; four grandchildren: Lori Ellingson and her husband, Mark, of Mason City, Steve Tiedeman and his wife, Lisa, of Mason City, Mandy Martinson of Mason City, and Richie Martinson and his special friend, Stephanie Broege, of Mason City; three great-grandchildren: Chelsea Ellingson, Laurel Tiedeman, and Parker Niles; and a sister, Phyllis Mortenson of Northwood, as well as other relatives and many friends.

Michael Charles Shaw was born Aug. 28, 1952, in Oskaloosa, Iowa, a son of Marion Francis Shaw and Dolores G. (Fish) Shaw, and died Tues., June 6, 2006, at the Mary Brigh Patient Care Unit, St. Marys Hospital in Rochester, Minn.

He received his education at the Thomas Jefferson High school in Cedar Rapids. On Oct. 18, 1971, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and then served on the USS Enterprise until March 9, 1974, when he was honorably discharged.

For the past 10-plus years Mike was employed at Curries Manufacturing in Mason City. On March 15, 2006, he was united in marriage to Mary Lou (Feltus) Marzen at the First United Methodist Church in Rockford. Since their marriage, they have made their home in Marble Rock.

Mike enjoyed cooking and was an avid Nascar and Green Bay Packer fan. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Mary Lou, of Marble Rock; four step-sons, Jon (Annette) King and Jason King, both of Mason City, Graydon (Aaron) Marzen, of Ankeny, Matt Marzen, of Whittemore; two step-daughters, Christine and Danielle Marzen, from Ames; three step-grandchildren, Kaylyn, Tyler, and Deven, of Mason City; one step-great-grandson, Alexander Jon, of Mason City; his mother, Dolores, from Clutier; four sisters, Sharlene (Dennis) Merta, from Fairfax, Susann (Lyle) Kruse, of Blairstown, Nancy Palmer, of Verbank, N.Y., Trish (Jerry) Detling, of Newhall; one brother, Pat, from Cedar Rapids. Mike is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

DuWayne Stuart ‘Buck’ Holmes

MANLY — DuWayne Stuart “Buck” Holmes, 73, of 600 S. Southside Court, died early Monday (June 5, 2006) at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa. According to his wishes, his body has been cremated.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 10, 2006, at Ward Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. Fourth St., Mason City, with the Rev. Mark Young officiating.

Darlene C. Holmes died Sept. 5, 1998. Together Darlene and Buck will be inurned in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City, with full military honors conducted by members of the Mason City Veteran’s Memorial Association.

DuWayne Stuart Holmes was born Nov. 15, 1932, in Ventura, the son of Clarence and Helen Holmes. He attended the Ventura Community Schools.

Buck enlisted in the United States Army, where he served in the Korean Conflict. After his honorable discharge, Buck married Darlene Katherine Kantaris at the Little Brown Church in Nashua on June 12, 1955.

Buck worked construction and was a skilled heavy equipment operator for McKiness Excavating Inc., Mason City, where he worked until the time of his death.

Buck loved fishing, John Wayne movies, old time country western music and driving around enjoying nature. Buck enjoyed sports; he was an avid Vikings fan and Iowa Hawkeye fan. He loved having coffee everyday with his youngest son, Marty. Buck would get together with his sister, Carolyn, and play card games.

Buck is survived by his daughter, Linda Holmes, of Clear Lake; two sons, Stuart Holmes, Texas, and Marty Holmes, Mason City; grandchildren, Chris and Mathew Holmes, Michael Magnan and Jennifer, Sean, Brian, Julie, Greg, Pam, Clint and Lexus; numerous great-grandchildren; sister, Carolyn Albers, Ventura; nieces and nephews, Steve (Helena) Albers, Thornton, Suzanne (Dean) Hess, Clear Lake, Cheryl (Randy) Lutz, Plymouth, Charlene (Silas) Fatland, Colorado; along with other relatives and friends.

Beth Sherman Elder

MASON CITY — Beth Sherman Elder, 94, of 300 Second St. N.E., died Monday (June 5, 2006) at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa.

A service celebrating the life of Beth will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Monday at the First United Methodist Church, 119 S. Georgia, Mason City, with the Rev. Jo Frahm Watkins officiating. Per Beth’s wishes, her body was donated to the University of Iowa School of Medicine, Iowa City. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date.

Beth was born Aug. 16, 1911, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, the daughter of Charles B. and Zoe M. (Kneeland) Sherman. Her family moved to Mason City in 1915.

Beth graduated from Mason City High School, Boone Junior College and Cedar Falls Teachers College. Following graduation, she taught in Toledo, Iowa, for two years, then with the Ames Community Schools for 17 years.

In 1959, she received her B.S. degree from Drake University. She retired from teaching in 1966, when she married Donald Seney Elder of Mason City on May 28.

Beth was a member of the First United Methodist Church, where she was active in various church groups. She was a 60-year member of the PEO Sisterhood, her last chapter being KX in Mason City. She was also a member of the Veleda Study Club, Maria Mitchell Club and Red Hat Society.

In 2004, Beth was honored with the Mason City High School Distinguished Alumni Award for professional and community service. It was her great interest that her family and her students knew the value of being well educated, and unselfishly volunteered her time when asked. Her greatest joys in life were family, friends and students and she would travel to their special occasions whenever she could.

CHARLES CITY — Esther Schwab, 86, of Charles City, died Wednesday (June 7, 2006) at Mercy Medical Center in Mason City.

A funeral Mass for Esther Schwab will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The Rev. Carl Ries, pastor, will celebrate the Mass. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Esther Frances Pint Schwab was born Aug. 15, 1919, in Mitchell County, the daughter of William and Bessie (Mullen) Pint. She received her education from the Osage and Floyd schools. On April 28, 1936, she was united in marriage to Patrick Schwab at Osage. They lived in the Osage, Floyd and Charles City areas all of their lives. During her working career, Esther was employed at Gibbons Apparel, Stewart Shoe Store and Prichards Apparel.

She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Rosary Society, St. Jude Circle and Heritage Club. She enjoyed fishing, playing cards, reading and working puzzles. Most of all, as her first priority, Esther looked forward to spending time with her family.

Living family members include two sons, James (Dorothy) Schwab, of Cedar Falls, and Gary (Martha) Schwab, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert (Norma) Pint; a sister-in-law, Velma Pint; and many nieces and nephews.

Merle E. Carter

OSAGE — Merle Eleanor Carter, 89, of Osage departed this life on Wednesday (June 7, 2006) at the Osage Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Osage.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 13, 2006, at the First United Methodist Church in Osage with the Rev. Dr. J. Samuel Subramanian officiating. Inurnment will be in the Osage Cemetery. There will be a luncheon and a time for fellowship immediately following the services in the church basement on Tuesday.

Merle was born April 24, 1917, in Midland, S.D., the daughter of L.W. and Hazel (Stokes) Williams. She and her family lived in Pierre, S.D., until she was in the eighth grade. At that time they moved to Osage. Merle graduated from Osage High School. She then went to business college and took secretarial training.

On Aug. 3, 1943, she married C. Wentworth Carter at the First United Methodist Church in Osage. To this union two sons were born, William and Bradford. Merle and Went lived in New Orleans, La., early in their marriage, before returning to Osage to raise their family.

Merle worked at Montgomery Ward, Mitchell County Hospital and Conway and Casey Law Offices, all in Osage. She served on the Osage Library board for 15 years, directed the Methodist Church Choir for 23 years, participated in barbershop quartet and Sweet Adelines and was a member of the Eastern Star. Her hobbies were singing, reading, gardening and taking care of cats.

Merle is survived by two sons, Bill Carter and his wife, Joy, of Wilton, and Brad Carter and his wife, Gail, of Waterloo; two grandchildren, Carolyn and Alex Carter; step-grandchildren, Eric Brodahl and his wife, Jill, and Beth Brodahl.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Went, in March 2006; and two brothers, Guy and Dale.

Merle was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Marvin ‘Speed’ Wade

MASON CITY — Marvin “Speed” Wade, 80, of 644 S. Taylor Ave., died Wednesday (June 7, 2006) at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa, Mason City.

Marvin Kenneth Wade was born on Dec. 20, 1925, in Klemme, Iowa, to Arthur and Jeanette (Ulrich) Wade. He attended school at Klemme. Marvin later enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving his country during World War II. After his honorable discharge from the Navy on March 21, 1946, Marvin moved to Mason City.

He was united in marriage to Marilyn Elaine Garlock on Nov. 22, 1946, in Clear Lake. They later made their home in Mason City, where Marvin was employed by Lehigh Portland Cement until he retired in 1988.

Marvin and Marilyn enjoyed traveling to Mission, Texas, where they stayed during the winter months.

Marvin was a lifetime member of the Mason City American Legion and the Clear Lake VFW. He was the past president of Boilermakers Cement Division Union No. 106, and was active in the ABATE Motorcycle Club. Marvin enjoyed gardening and was a master gardener, and he enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

Marvin is survived by one grandson, several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marilyn Elaine; son, Ernest; brother, Russell; and sister, Pearl.

Wilbur Crone

CLEAR LAKE — Wilbur Crone, 89, of 2512 N. Shore Drive, Clear Lake, passed away peacefully on Wednesday (June 7, 2006).

 A memorial service to honor his life and friendships will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 12, 2006, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 1001 Ninth Ave. S., with Monsignor John Hemann officiating. Graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. Monday at Bingham Township Cemetery in Woden.

Visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday at Ward Van-Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. Fourth St., Clear Lake. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the funeral Monday at the church.

Wilbur was born to John and Nora (Aldrich) Crone of rural Woden on Nov. 2, 1916. He graduated from Woden High School in 1935. Following high school, he moved to Santa Monica, Calif., where he worked for Douglas Aircraft. He enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country for 28 months. Fourteen months were spent overseas in the Pacific region. Following his military service, Wilbur returned to Iowa to be near his family.

Wilbur was married to Evelyn Colter of Britt on Nov. 29, 1952, at St. Patrick’s Church. Together they farmed and raised their family near Woden. In their younger years, they loved to dance, especially at the Surf Ballroom where they first met. Wilbur and Evelyn enjoyed their life on the farm, their many friends, neighborhood card club, and their family.

After retiring in 1982, Wilbur and Evelyn moved to their home in Clear Lake. Wilbur was a member of the American Legion in Woden and the VFW in Clear Lake.

Wilbur was a devoted husband and father and his grandchildren were a great joy to him. He also enjoyed playing cards, especially cribbage, golfing, and his winters spent in the South. Special times were those he shared with his friends over coffee. We will remember Wilbur for his quick wit, firm handshake, and gentle soul.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn, of 53 years; son, John Crone, of Des Moines; and two daughters, Jenele (Geoff) Grassle of Wayzata, Minn., and Joanne (Chris) May of Boulder, Colo. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Lucy, Jack and Sophia May, and Williamson (Will) Grassle; his sister-in-law, Rose Crone, of Burlington; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Esther Seefeld; three brothers, Alfred, Albert and Dean; and two infant grandchildren, Nora May and Christopher Grassle.

DuWayne Stuart ‘Buck’ Holmes

 MANLY — DuWayne Stuart “Buck” Holmes, 73, of 600 S. Southside Court, died early Monday (June 5, 2006) at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa. According to his wishes, his body has been cremated.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, June 10, 2006, at Ward Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. Fourth St., Clear Lake, with the Rev. Mark Young officiating.

Darlene C. Holmes died Sept. 5, 1998. Together Darlene and Buck will be inurned in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City, with full military honors conducted by members of the Mason City Veteran’s Memorial Association.

DuWayne Stuart Holmes was born Nov. 15, 1932, in Ventura, the son of Clarence and Helen Holmes. Buck. He attended the Ventura Community Schools.

Buck enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he served in the Korean conflict. After his honorable discharge, Buck married Darlene Katherine Kantaris at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, on June 12, 1955.

Buck worked construction and was a skilled heavy equipment operator for McKiness Excavating Inc., Mason City, where he worked until the time of his death.

Buck loved fishing, John Wayne movies, old time country-western music, and driving around enjoying nature. Buck enjoyed sports; he was an avid Vikings fan and Iowa Hawkeye fan. He loved having coffee every day with his youngest son, Marty. Buck would get together with his sister, Carolyn, and play card games.

Buck is survived by his daughter, Linda Holmes, of Clear Lake; two sons, Stuart Holmes, Texas, and Marty Holmes, Mason City; grandchildren, Chris and Mathew Holmes, Michael Magnan and Jennifer, Sean, Brian, Julie, Greg, Pam, Clint and Lexus; numerous great-grandchildren; a sister, Carolyn Albers, Ventura; nieces and nephews, Steve (Helena) Albers, Thornton, Suzanne (Dean) Hess, Clear Lake, Cheryl (Randy) Lutz, Plymouth, Charlene (Silas) Fatland, Colorado; along with other relatives and friends.

Lois was a cook at the LeRoy School in for many years. They moved to Osage in 1969 after purchasing the Osage Hotel, which she ran until her retirement in 1990. She is a 50-year member of Unity Chapter No. 29 of the Order of the Eastern Star in Austin, Minn., and a member of the First Presbyterian Church in LeRoy, Minn. She was a member of the Wa-Tan-Ye Club, worked at the Food Bank in Osage, and also was active in the Baptist Church in Osage, and their activities, and where she had many friends.

Survivors include her three sons, Donald Mahoney and his wife, Carol, of New Hampton, Larry Mahoney and his wife, Janice, of Osage, and Richard “Dick” Mahoney and his wife, Cindy, of Rochester, Minn.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Wayne, and his wife, Irene; and one sister, Naida Samuel, all of Austin, Minn.

Lawrence Allen Gleason was born Dec. 12, 1938, in Northwood, Iowa, to Vernon and Sophia (Aanrud) Gleason. Lawrence attended school in Glenville, Minn. He honorably and faithfully served during the post Korea-era in the U.S. Navy. On Dec. 12, 1960, Lawrence was united in marriage to Pauline Sutton. The couple lived in Rockford for 29 years where Lawrence worked at Sukups, White Farm and Advanced Technologies. Lawrence then moved to Greene to enjoy his retirement.

Lawrence enjoyed life while boating, camping, mushroom hunting, playing cards, bowling, playing pool, turtle hunting, playing horseshoes and cribbage. His greatest love was hanging out with his nephews and watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren growing up.

Lawrence is survived by his four daughters, Cindy (Rick) Merriss of Rockford, Connie (Terry) Bergman, Wendy (Mike) Perrott and Vicki (Dan) Ries, all of Mason City; 16 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; his sister, Doris Bowran, of St. Paul, Minn.; his nephews, Leroy (Bonnie) Williamson of Clear Lake, Jerry Williamson and Terry (Mary) Williamson, both of Northwood, Steven (Lona) Williamson of Waseca, Minn., Tom Williamson of Elysian, Minn., David Gleason of Florida; and a niece, Vivian (Don) Freeman, of Freeborn, Minn.

Carol J. Rasmuson

 BRITT — Carol J. Rasmuson, 84, of Britt, passed away on Tuesday (June 6, 2006) at her home in rural Britt.

Funeral services for Carol Rasmuson will be held at 10:30 a.m. today at First Lutheran Church in Britt with Pastor Arlen Lloyd officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Britt.

Carol, the daughter of Edward Leo and Gladys Beatrice (Bailey) Cosgriff, was born June 19, 1921, in Britt. She grew up in Britt where she attended Britt schools.

On Oct. 31, 1938, Carol was united in marriage with William James Rasmuson in Blue Earth, Minn. The couple lived in Stilson for two years and then moved to the family farm near Eagle Lake where Carol still resided.

Carol worked on the family farm many years. She later worked at the milk plant, then Britt Tech, and later at Winnebago Industries before retiring in 1987. She loved spending time with her family and friends and attending her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s activities. She had a great love of the outdoors, especially Eagle Lake Park, with its deer and wildlife. Carol enjoyed traveling, golfing and fishing and loved to sew. Her great passion was quilting and she pieced and quilted many beautiful quilts.

She was a longtime member of the Congregational (UCC) Church in Britt. Carol currently was a member of First Lutheran Church in Britt and the Elizabeth Circle at First Lutheran Church. She volunteered with various groups including PTA, Music Mothers, Sunday school, choir, Unity Class, Scouts, 4-H, American Legion Auxiliary, women’s club, and the historical society.

Carol is survived by five children, Marilyn Bruns and husband, Raymond, of Britt, Robert Rasmuson and wife, Erlis, of Britt, Marjorie Schrader of St. Paul, Minn., and James Rasmuson of Britt, William J.  BRITT — Donald H. Kraus, 90, of Britt, died Wednesday (June 7, 2006) at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt.

 Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church in Britt with the Rev. Robert Dodge officiating. A flag presentation ceremony will be conducted by the Britt Veterans Ceremonial Unit. Inurnment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Emmetsburg. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services Monday at the church. Cataldo Funeral Home in Britt is in charge of arrangements.

 Donald Huhn Kraus, the son of Charles and DeEtta (Huhn) Kraus, was born April 8, 1916, at Manly. He moved with his family to California, Oregon, and then Wesley, Iowa, where he graduated from high school in 1934. Don continued his education at Iowa State University in Ames. During World War II, he served his country in the U.S. Army in the Middle East, Africa and Italy. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to Wesley where he worked with his father in the family general store. On Jan. 28, 1945, he married Mabel Jeanne Ketchen at Emmetsburg. They made their home in Wesley and purchased his parents’ general store in 1950. In 1960, they sold the store and opened Kraus’ Department Store in Britt. In 1982, they retired and sold the store. Don enjoyed spending time at Okoboji, riding his bicycle, gardening, fishing and beekeeping. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Britt, men’s club, Britt VFW, and was a past member and president of both the Britt Lions Club and the Britt Commercial Club.

 Don is survived by his wife, Jeanne, of Britt; son, Richard (Margaret) Kraus, of Santa Ana, Calif.; granddaughter, Elizabeth Ann (Warrie) Birdwell, of Dallas, Texas; grandson, Bradley Huhn Kraus, of Dallas, Texas; a brother, Charles Kraus, Jr., of Winona, Minn.; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Dorothy Brooke; brother-in-law, Harold Brooke; and a sister-in-law, Jean Kraus.
