HERMAN A. ERZNOZNIK

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Herman Alexander Erznoznik passed away on Feb. 24, 2001, at the Covington Heights Nursing Home in Sioux Falls, S.D., at the age of 84.

Herman was born to Frank and Teresa (Govenc) Erznoznik in Frontenac, Kan. on Sept. 4, 1916.

He met and married Evelyn Myers. They lived in Clear Lake, Iowa and Herman was employed with Pecker Trucking. The couple moved to Los Angeles, Calif. in 1967. They later retired to Big Pine, Calif. Evelyn preceded Herman in death in 1996.

Grateful for having shared his life are his daughter, Julie Hanson, of Brandon, S.D.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Tom Evans, of Oakdale, Cailf., and John Erznik, of Suquemish, Wash.

Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Mason City, Iowa at a later date.

BUFFALO CENTER - Lillian E. Kopp, 81, of Buffalo Center, died Monday (March 5, 2001) at the Timely Mission Nursing Home in Buffalo Center.

CHARLES CITY - Ann (Mrs. Russell) Lampson, 79, of 1800 Salzer St., died Saturday (March 3, 2001) at the Floyd County Memorial Hospital in Charles City.

The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Charles City, with the Revs. Dennis Niezwaag and Mark Anderson officiating. Burial will be in the Sunnyside Memory Gardens south of Charles City.

Visitation will be held from 3 to 9 p.m. today at the Hauser Funeral Home, 1205 S. Main St. in Charles City, with the family greeting friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services on Wednesday at the church.

LT. COL. JEFFREY L. RILEY

SPRINGFIELD, Va. - Lt. Col. Jeffrey L. Riley, U.S. Army, died on Wednesday (Feb. 28, 2001) at the Hospice of Northern Virginia in Arlington, Va.

He was born Sept. 14, 1955 in Mason City, Iowa. He is a graduate of the University of Iowa.

He is survived by his wife, Suzanne Riley and his children, John and Emily Riley. Also surviving are his parents, Mr. And Mrs. Bill (Jean) Riley, of Clear Lake; his brother, Scott (Pam) Riley; his niece, Sheri (Tony) Prescott and a nephew, Will Riley, all of Clear Lake.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 20, at the Old Post Chapel in Fort Myer, Va. Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Va. with full military honors.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Hospice of Northern Virginia, P.O. Box 1576, Merrifield, VA. 22116-1576; The American Cancer Society, 124 Park St. S.E. in Vienna, Va. 22180 or to any other hospice or charity.

DENNY A. KYHL

BRITT - Denny A. Kyhl, 65, of Britt, passed away Sunday, February 18, 2001, at his residence in Britt.

Memorial services for Denny Kyhl will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 10, at the United Methodist Church in Britt, with Pastor Robert Dodge officiating. Inurnment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Britt.

MARY F. (MONAHAN) WILLSON

EAST DUBUQUE, Ill. - Mary F. (Monahan) Willson, 84, of East Dubuque, Ill., formerly of Mason City, died Saturday (March 3, 2001) at the Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque.

The funeral will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Mary's Church in East Dubuque. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery in Mason City.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the Miller Funeral Home in East Dubuque, Ill. with a parish rosary at 5 p.m.

Mrs. Willson was born on Oct. 18, 1916, at Mason City, the daughter of James and Baptisma (Brady) O'Donnell.

She married Maurice J. Monahan on June 19, 1935, at Dougherty, Iowa. He died on Nov. 3, 1976.

She later married Charles Willson on Oct. 5, 1985, at Vinton, Iowa. He died on June 12, 1988.

She retired from A.C. Nielson in Mason City. She previously had been employed at Montgomery Wards in Sacramento, Calif.

She was a member of St. Mary's Parish of East Dubuque and formerly a member of Holy Family Parish in Mason City.

She is survived by two daughters, Virginia Colligan and her husband, Dan, of Dubuque, Iowa, and Sherrill Kline and her husband, Ed, of Mason City; grandchildren, Michael Colligan, Kathy and (Randy) Occola, Bob and (Sophia) Kline, D.J. and (Sue) Kline, Angel and (Mike) Mejia and Adam Kline; great-grandchildren, Andrew and Nicholas Accola, Jacob and Nicholas Kline, Chloe and Carter Kline and Mason Mejia; stepsons, Gerald (Noreen) Willson, of Cedar Rapids, and Charles (Betty) Willson, of Sebring, Fla.; 11 stepgrandchildren; and 15 stepgreat-grandchildren

MARGUERITE HAMBLIN

MASON CITY - Marguerite Hamblin, 95, of 4 Third St. N.W. died Sunday (March 4, 2001) at the Good Shepherd Health Center in Mason City.

The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave. in Mason City, with the Rev. Paul Boostrom officiating. Interment will be in the Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the Major Erickson Funeral Home and on Wednesday until time of services.

Memorials may be given to the Marguerite Hamblin Memorial Fund.

Marguerite was born Sept. 19, 1905 near Bettendorf, Iowa, the daughter of Valentine and Elodie (Mostaert) Mannens. Her family moved to Mason City when she was six-years-old. She attended school in Mason City and later attended Hamilton Business College.

Marguerite married William L. Hamblin on Sept. 19, 1939 in Mason City. Marguerite was a farm wife for over 50 years.

She was a member of the Farm Bureau and the Oseso Family Group.

Marguerite is survived by two sisters-in-law, Margaret Mannens, of Manly, and Mrs. Clifford Hamblin, of St. Paul, Minn.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, three sisters, and one niece.
