BUFFALO CENTER - Genevieve "Gib" I. Bargman, 60, of Buffalo Center, died Friday (June 9, 2000) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City.

MAVIS JUNE KELLNER

FORT WALTON BEACH, FLA. -Mavis June Kellner died Friday (June 9, 2000) at her home in Florida after a long illness with cancer.

Mavis was born in Manly on Aug. 30, 1931. She attended school in Manly and Mason City. She worked various jobs in Mason City.

She married Duane Kellner in Waterloo, in February 1952. She enjoyed being with her family, playing cards and reading. She will also be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor.

Survivors include her husband, Duane, and their children, Jody Ragsdale, Exeter, Mo., and Rick and his wife, Kathy, of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.; three grandsons, Kenny Ragsdale and Willie Ragsdale, of Exeter, Mo., and Daniel Kellner, of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.; three sisters, Velma Myhre, of Clear Lake, Darlene Cory and her husband, Ernest Cory, of Mason City and Marilyn Barnett, of Waterloo; two brothers-in-law, Floyd Russell and Robert Kellner, both of Waterloo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Amos and Myrta Johnson; her brothers, Kenneth Johnson, Richard Johnson, Donald Johnson; and three sisters, Olive Reikens, Genevieve Russell and Marion Blado.

Any memorials can be sent to Duane Kellner at 10 Holnes Blvd., Ft. Walton Beach, FL 32548. She will be cremated and there will be no formal service.

Emerald Coast Funeral Home, Fort Walton Beach, Fla., is in charge of arrangements.

CARLYLE E. "CARL" ABELE

GREENE -Carlyle E. "Carl" Abele, 81, of Greene, died Friday (June 9, 2000) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City.

According to his wishes, his body was cremated. Private family memorial services will be held at a later date.

Carlyle Edwin Abele was born June 23, 1919, in Garner, the son of Arthur and Ada (Blank) Abele.

He married Zana H. Groff on March 8, 1975, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Mason City.

He is survived by his wife, Zana Abele; four children, Robert Abele, Beverly Kester and her husband, Ronald, Dean Abele, and Caryl Putzstuck; four step-children, Don Lange, Jr. and his wife, Christine, Tonna Marroni and her husband, Tony, Patty Sellers and her husband, Jerry, and John Lange and his wife, Phyllis; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one sister, Marguerite Wogen and her husband, Lindley; two brothers, Oren Abele, and John Abele and his wife, Ivadell; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Ruby.

HAROLD F. LAPPE

BANCROFT - Harold F. Lappe, 90, of Bancroft, died Friday (June 9, 2000) at the Titonka Care Center, Titonka.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. John's Catholic Church, Bancroft with the Rev. Paul Bormann officiating. Burial will be in St. John Catholic Church, Bancroft.

Visitation will be held from 2:30 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Garry-Roberts-Murphy-Schaaf Funeral Home, Bancroft, with a parish rosary at 3 p.m. and a parish prayer service at 7 p.m.

FRANCIS J. LOWE

NEW HAMPTON - Francis J. Lowe, 74, of New Hampton, died Friday (June 9, 2000) at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, New Hampton, with the Rev. Marvin Salz presiding. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, New Hampton.

Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Conway Funeral Home in New Hampton, where there will be a 4 p.m. rosary and a 7 p.m. scripture service.

Francis Joseph Lowe was born July 23, 1925, near Elma, the son of Milo Charles and Verona (Conry) Lowe. He attended the Lourdes School.

He married Jean Eschweiler on June 5, 1945, at our Lady of Lourdes Church. Following their marriage they farmed in the Maple Leaf area. In 1964, they moved to New Hampton, where he was employed as a truck driver. He established the Lowe trucking business in 1969. He was owner/operator until his retirement in 1990, at which time two sons became owners of the business. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards and visiting with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Jean; four sons, Jim (Rosalee), of Stacyville, Bob (Bev), of Lansing, Bill (Rose) of New Hampton and Mike (Joyce) of New Hampton; three daughters, Sharon (Ed) Rowe of Shakopee, Minn., Marilee (Gerry) Mishak of New Hampton and Jan (Jim) Dockendorf, of New Hampton; 17 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; one sister, Monica Reicks, of Cresco; and one brother, John, of Ionia.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, James and Joseph Lowe, both in infancy.

BRITT - Gloria Eggert, 95, of Britt, died Friday (June 9, 2000) at the Westview Care Center in Britt.

Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Evergreen Cemetery, Britt, with the Rev. William Breen officiating.

KANAWHA - Tom Delger, of Kanawha, died Friday (June 9, 2000) at the Trinity Regional Hospital, Fort Dodge.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Kanawha Christian Reformed Church, with the Rev. G. David Daley officiating. Burial will take place in the Amsterdam Township Cemetery, Kanawha.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Ewing Dugger Funeral Home, Kanawha, and one hour prior to services at the church. Full military rites will be conducted under the direction of the Kanawha American Legion Severson Post 77.

EDWIN C. (EDDIE) WISNER

MASON CITY -Edwin C. (Eddie) Wisner, 80, of 47 Stony Way, died Saturday (June 10, 2000) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit.

A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 302 Fifth St., S.E.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hogan-Bremer Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E., where further arrangements are incomplete.

MILTON R. STAUDT

MARBLE ROCK - Milton R. Staudt, 72, of 2519 Kirkwood Ave., Marble Rock, died Saturday (June 10, 2000) at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa, Mason City.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Roseville, rural Marble Rock, with the Rev. Walter Brunkan officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, with military graveside rites conducted by Stroud Gates Post 387 American Legion of Marble Rock.

Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Parish Hall, 2395 Highway 14, Marble Rock, where there will be a parish rosary service at 4 p.m. and a scriptural wake service followed by a rosary service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Wednesday one hour before services.

Milton Robert Staudt was born Nov. 12, 1927, in Union Township, Floyd County, a son of Joseph Mark and Vera Mae (Katcher) Staudt. He received his education at the St. Mary's School at Roseville and started working on the family farm as a young man. On May 7, 1952, he was inducted into the United States Army, where he served with the 97th Engineer Battalion. He was honorably discharged on April 17, 1954. He returned to Marble Rock and resumed farming.

On Aug. 3, 1963, he was united in marriage to Mary Ellen Hart at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mason City. To this union were born two sons. Milton remained active in the farming operation until his death. He was past president of the Marble Rock Lions Club, past commander of the Stroud Gates Post 387 American Legion, and served on the Board of Directors of Friendship Acres. He was a lifelong faithful member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Roseville.

Living family members include his loving wife, Mary Ellen, of Marble Rock; two sons and their spouses, Terry and Susan Staudt, of Mason City, Gerald "Butch" and Kelly Staudt, of Marble Rock; six grandchildren, Jacob Staudt, Chris Jung, Cathleen Jung, April Staudt, Angie Staudt, and Amber Staudt; two sisters, Joan Donavan of California City, Calif., and Shirley and her husband, Eugene Brunsman, of Kirbyville, Mo.; three brothers and their spouses, Merrill and Della Staudt, of West Plains, Mo., Ray and Connie Staudt, of Winter Park, Fla., and Wayne and Diane Staudt, of Greenfield, Wis.; a brother-in-law, Arnold Holt, of Florida; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Jeanne Holt; and brother-in-law, Thomas Donavan.

LAVONNE K. KRULL

ROCKFORD - LaVonne K. Krull, 68, of 108 Third St. N.W., Rockford, died Friday (June 9, 2000) at the Nora Springs Care Center, Nora Springs.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at United Methodist Church, Marble Rock, with the Rev. Rosemary Rhode Frank officiating. Burial will be in Westside Cemetery, Marble Rock.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Reid's Funeral Chapel, Marble Rock, and one hour before services at the church.

LaVonne Kathryn Ackley was born Sept. 5, 1931, in Marble Rock, a daughter of Cecil and Frances Pearl (Barr) Ackley. She received her education in the Marble Rock public schools, graduating in 1948. As a young lady she worked for Hubbard's Cupboard in Marble Rock and assisted her mother in painting and wallpapering homes in the Marble Rock area.

On Jan. 23, 1949, she was united in marriage to Lyle Henry Krull at the United Methodist Church in Marble Rock. They first made their home in Marble Rock and later rural Marble Rock before moving to Allison to farm for two years. In 1959 they moved to rural Rockford and later moved into town in 1993. She was very family oriented - always interested in her children's and grandchildren's activities, and she enjoyed the family get togethers and picnics.

Her interest included sewing, crafts and caring for her house plants. She was a 4-H leader and a member of the Music Mothers for many years, a member of the Rebekkah Lodge and a 50-year member of the United Methodist Church, Marble Rock.

Those thankful for having shared LaVonne's life are her children and their spouses, Linda and Jerald Wrage, of Rudd, Dan Krull, of Rockford, Debra and Tom Nelson, of Nora Springs, and David and Mary Ann Krull, of Rudd; four grandchildren, Trina and her husband, Tim VonHagen, of Rockford, Brad Primrose, of Rudd, and Cassandra and Morgan Krull, of Rudd; three great-grandchildren, Orey and Elijah VonHagen, of Rockford, and Kasey Primrose, of Rudd.

She was preceded in death by her son, Dennis Krull, in 1957; and her parents.

LLOYD HENRY RUSSELL

MONONA - Lloyd Henry Russell, of Monona, died Tuesday (June 6, 2000) at the Prairie Memorial Hospital, Prairie du Chien, Wis.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Monona, with the Rev. Glenn Leaf officiating. Burial was in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, with the Rev. Glenn Leaf officiating.

Lloyd Henry Russell, the son of Joseph and Lottie (Henkes) Russell, was born June 5, 1914, near Farmersburg. He was baptized Oct. 10, 1915, and confirmed Jan. 30, 1938, both at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Monona. He received his early education at the Looby School near Farmersburg. He attended high school at Monona for two years before transferring to Central High School in Elkader. Following high school he worked as a farm hand in the Postville-Monona area.

He was united in marriage to Viola Topel on Dec. 16, 1936. They lived in Monona until February of 1942, when they moved to Mason City. There he was employed by the Mason City Creamery Co. In November of 1943 he was drafted into the United States Navy. He was discharged in 1945, returning to Mason City, where his wife had remained. They became very active members of St. James Lutheran Church. They taught Sunday School, and he was elected to the Church Council, later becoming president.

He served two terms as president of the area 14 Brotherhood, president of St. James Brotherhood, and vice president of the Finance Committee during the construction of the new church. He served as vice president of the Mason City Good Samaritan Society for nine years. He became a city letter carrier for the Mason City Post Office, and was a member of the United States Postal Credit Union.

In December of 1958 they returned to Monona. They became custodians of St. Paul Lutheran Church in 1961, where they served faithfully for 18 1/2 years before retiring in 1980. They continued to live in Monona, where he pursued his hobbies of music and woodworking, making many thousands of crosses, picture frames, replicas, etc.

Survivors include one brother, Glenn Russell, of Carlsbad, Calif.; niece, Donna Rae Russell, of Orange, Calif.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
