MASON CITY -Cindy Richards, 47, of 915 15th St. S.E., died Sunday (July 16, 2000) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Doug Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., and one hour prior to services on Wednesday at the church.

BRITT - Honroe A. Halverson, 83, of Britt, died Saturday (July 15, 2000) at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital, Britt.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Lutheran Church with the Rev. William Breen officiating. Burial will be in Bingham Township Cemetery, Woden.

BRISTOW - Hermina J. Shreve, 87, died Monday (July 17, 2000) at Liebe Care Center, Greene.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church, Bristow, with the Rev. Robert Connor and the Rev. Patricia Connor officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

KENNETH LEROY (MEDIA KEN) SCHIERMEISTER

MASON CITY - Kenneth LeRoy (media Ken) Schiermeister, 56, of 822 Eleventh St. N.E., died Monday (July 17, 2000) at Methodist Hospital, Rochester, Minn.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. James Lutheran Church, 1148 Fourth St. S.E., Mason City, with the Rev. David Anderson officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Mason City, and one hour before the service at the church Thursday.

Memorials may be directed to the Ken Schiermeister Memorial Fund.

Ken Schiermeister was born Jan. 15, 1944, in Linton, N.D., the son of Jake and Johanna (Schmidt) Schiermeister. He attended schools in Linton and North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton, N.D.

Ken was united in marriage with Dianne Hall on Aug. 3, 1968, in Lakeville, Minn. They lived in Lakeville and Spencer before moving to Mason City in 1979.

Ken sold industrial chemicals for many years and has been with DuBois since 1991. He owned and operated Schiermeister and Company for a number of years.

Ken was a member of St. James Lutheran Church where he served as deacon. He enjoyed keeping in touch with his family, and he especially enjoyed spoiling his granddaughter for whom he had a special place in his heart.

Ken is survived by his wife, Dianne Schiermeister, Mason City; two daughters, Brenda Bird, Hiawatha, and Tammy Schiermeister, Mason City; a son, Justin Schiermeister and his wife, Trish, Mason City; a granddaughter, Jessica Rae Schiermeister, Hiawatha; a grandson on the way; nine sisters, Martha Walther and her husband, Emanuel, Bismarck, N.D., Edna Serr and her husband, Henry, Hazelton, N.D., Bertha Massullo, Atascadero, Calif., Eleanor Schiermeister, Sacramento, Calif., Hilda Houseman and her husband, Jim, Atascadero, Calif., Vi Kizis and her husband, John, Phoenix, Ariz., LiAnn Hathaway and her husband, Glenn, Phoenix, Ariz., Margie Smith and her husband, Don, Stanton, N.D., and Dorinda Weisbeck and her husband, Albert, Stanton, N.D.; three brothers, Ray Schiermeister, Powell, Wyo., Bob Schiermeister and his wife, Whitey, Bismarck, N.D., and Erv Schiermeister and his wife, Joan, Bismarck, N.D.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Marie Haas; and one brother in infancy.

HAROLD MARTIN ALBERTSON SR.

MASON CITY - Harold Martin Albertson Sr., 85, of 626 N. Delaware Ave., peacefully passed away on Monday (July 17, 2000) at Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Care Facility in Mason City.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Wesley United Methodist Church, 1405 S. Pennsylvania Ave., Mason City, with the Rev. Bill Poland officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Fullerton Funeral Home, 123 Second St. S.E., Mason City, and will resume one hour prior to services at the church Thursday.

Harold was born July 29, 1914, in Portland Township to William and Mabel (Bell) Albertson. He graduated from Mason City High School.

On Aug. 29, 1934, Harold was united in marriage to Edna Toinbee in Marshalltown. They were married for 63 years, residing in the Mason City area. Edna preceded Harold in death on March 12, 1998.

Harold served in the United States Navy in World War II as a hospital apprentice. He farmed in his early life then later worked at Decker's Meatpacking plant until his retirement.

Harold looked forward to and greatly enjoyed the two-week family fishing trips to northern Minnesota. Harold always had a garden and enjoyed planting different types of vegetables. He also greatly enjoyed hunting and playing cards. He especially enjoyed following the lives of his family and watching the grandchildren and great-grandchildren, feeling it was an honor to watch them grow.

Harold was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. His special wit, charm and humor won the hearts of those who knew him.

Harold is survived by four children, Dolores Bernemann and her husband, Larry, of Manly, Jane Yandell and her husband, Ray, of Edmond, Okla., Joan Albertson of Des Moines and Harold Albertson Jr. and his wife, Marlene, of Griswold; nine grandchildren, Jina Schulte and her husband, Bill, Michelle Rysavy and her husband, Larry, Mark Cowman and his fiancee, Judy, Jon DeVary, Tracy Hughes and her husband, Tony, Scott Yandell and his wife, Candie, Bradly Albertson and his wife, Melissa, Troy Albertson and his wife, Alicia, and Douglas Yandell; 12 great-grandchildren, Tamara Schlader and her husband, Bob, Sean and Jennifer Cowman, Wendy Jo and Mandy Jo Schulte, Eric Rysavy, Aaron Campisi, Gary Rysavy, Christian Hughes, Sydney Albertson, Ethan DeVary, plus one more due in December; one brother, William Albertson of Nora Springs; two brothers-in-law, William and his wife, Dory Thompson, and LeRoy and his wife, Peg Hugo, of Mason City; sisters-in-law, Ann Theilen and Margaret Stepleton, all of Mason City; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; a sister, Margaret; a brother, Leslie; and a sister-in-law, Alta.

IRVIN (BOB) ZEIMEN

OCALA, Fla. - Irvin (Bob) Zeimen, 74, formerly of Mason City, died Sunday (June 25, 2000) at the hospital in Ocala, Fla., of complications from Lou Gehrig's disease.

According to his wishes, the body was cremated and private family services were held in Ocala.

Bob was born in Calumet, Iowa, on Dec. 14, 1925. He and his wife, Evelyn (Evy), resided in Mason City for 45 years. Prior to his illness of approximately six months, Bob sold real estate for Baute Builders of Country Meadows Development in Ocala.

While residing in Mason City, Bob and Evy owned several restaurants including the Wheel Inn, Shopper's Restaurant and the Half Moon Inn in Clear Lake. He also served as manager of the Elk's Lodge in Mason City for several years. Both of them enjoyed meeting and serving the public and made many friends during their years in restaurant business.

Bob was surrounded by his loving family at the time of his death. Left to cherish his memory include his wife, Evy, Ocala, Fla.; his daughters, Diana (Mrs. Michael) "Dee" Greenan, Mason City, and Sandy Minert, Clear Lake; a son, Dave Gaebel and his wife, Sue, Cary, N.C.; and six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Survivors also include a brother, Gary Zeimen of Grande Ledge, Mich., and a sister, Lenore Strahmann, Cheyenne, Wyo.

CHARLOTTE JEANETTE MCLAUGHLIN

MASON CITY - Charlotte Jeanette McLaughlin, 85, died Monday (July 17, 2000) at Good Shepherd Healthcare Center, Mason City.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Hogan Bremer Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E., Mason City, with the Rev. Thomas McAndrew officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Hogan Bremer Colonial Chapel and will continue until time of service Friday.

Charlotte Jeanette McLaughlin was born May 13, 1915, in Northwood, daughter of Torger A. and Gertrude (Rangstad) Bakketun.

She married Joseph E. McLaughlin on Jan. 22, 1941, in Rockwell. He preceded her in death on July 21, 1987.

Charlotte grew up in Northwood and graduated from Northwood High School. After moving to Mason City, she was a food demonstrator for various grocery stores and was a waitress at the Hanford Hotel.

She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.

Survivors include two sons, John McLaughlin, New Port Richie, Fla., and Jerry McLaughlin, Mason City; two granddaughters, Ashley McLaughlin, Mason City, and Kimberly McLaughlin, Renton, Wash.; two nieces, Shirley Swenson, Northwood, and Mary Bakketun, Boise, Idaho; and a cousin, Bernard Hylle, Austin, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her husband; two brothers, Norman and Morris Bakketun; and two sisters, Alice Larson and Francis Kravig.

GLENN JOSEPH REINDL

KENSETT - Glenn Joseph Reindl, 89, of 405 6th St., Kensett, died Friday (July 14, 2000) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City.

Funeral services will be today at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Manly, with Rev. Thomas McAndrew officiating. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Manly.

Visitation was Monday from 4-8 p.m. at the Bride Colonial Chapel, Manly, with a scriptural wake service at 7 p.m. and a Knights of Columbus rosary at 7:30 p.m.

The family suggests memorials to the Glenn Joseph Reindl Memorial Fund.

Glenn was born March 17, 1911, on the family farm in rural Manly, the son of John H. and Augusta (Wise) Reindl. He graduated from Manly High School in 1928.

Glenn married Opal Nunn on May 15, 1934, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Mason City. She preceded him in death on May 10, 1991. He farmed his entire life in the Mason City and Manly area until his retirement in 1979. Glenn married Iva Dene Pavlik June 26, 1993, in Tacoma, Wash.

Glenn was a member of the Manly Co-op Creamery Board for many years, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Chapter 1006 of Mason City and Farmer's Union. He was an active member of Manly Senior Citizens and Mason City Senior Citizens. He enjoyed delivering Meals on Wheels, playing cards, going to dances, traveling and spending time with his family and many friends.

Glenn is survived by his wife, Iva Dene Reindl, Kensett; seven children, Donna Parker and her husband, Ed, El Segundo, Calif., Kay Reindl and his wife, Karen, Manly, Patricia Tuttle and her special friend, Roger Bruns, Fertile, Raymond Reindl, Manly, Beverly McGowan and her husband, Robert, Mason City, Karen Squier and her husband, Dennis, Mason City and William Reindl and his wife, Dolly, Oxford; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Joan Odgers, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio; three step-daughters, Patricia Bloomingdale and her husband, Jerry, Republic, Mo., LaDene Tarabocchia and her husband, Nick, Lakewood, Colo., and Pamela Saathoff and her husband, John Sr., Kensett; 18 grandchildren, 16 step-grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 11 step great-grandchildren; one brother, Claud Reindl and his wife, Joan, Cedar Falls; four sisters-in-law, Mary Reindl, Laurens, Arlene Reindl, Albert Lea, Minn., JoAnn Reindl, Heath, Ohio, and Fran Reindl, Little Neck, N. Y.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Opal; son, Paul; and eight brothers, Leonard, Louis, Lawrence, Frank, Ivan, Harley, Walter and Gerald Reindl.

HERMINA J. SHREVE

BRISTOW - Funeral services for Hermina (Minnie) Jeanette Shreve, 87, will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church, Bristow, with the Rev. Robert Connor and the Rev. Patricia Connor officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Reid's Funeral Chapel, Greene, where the family will receive friends.

Hermina Jeanette Shreve was born April 7, 1913, in rural Jefferson Township, Butler County, to John and Mary (Kannegiesser) Henning. She died Monday (July 17, 2000) at the Liebe Care Center, Greene.

She was baptized July 13, 1913, in Sioux Falls, S.D. Minnie received an 8th-grade education in country schools of Butler County.

On Oct. 22, 1934, she was united in marriage to William N. Shreve in the parsonage at Bristow. They later started farming in the Bristow and Greene areas, where she helped her husband until their retirement in 1966, when they moved into Bristow.

Minnie loved her family and was a wonderful mother, a great cook and really enjoyed gardening. She played many games with her grandchildren.

Living family members include three daughters, Vada Marie, and her husband, J.R. McCaull, of Keyes, Okla., Kathy and her husband, Charles Smith, of Shell Rock, and Carol and her husband, Delvin Arjes, of Greene; two sons, the Rev. Robert and his wife, Marguerite Shreve, of Churdan, and Darwin B. and his wife, JoAnn of Marble Rock; 16 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three sisters, Mary, Hannah and Lucille; one brother, John; and one grandson, Rodney Dean Shreve.

SCHAUMBURG, Ill. - Graveside memorial services will be at noon Sunday, July 23, at St. Olaf Church, Belmond, for E. Clifton "Clif" Gourley, 79, of Schaumburg, Ill., formerly of Mason City, who died Jan. 5, 2000.

Funeral services were held Jan. 8, at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.

CHERI L. LUNDERS

LITTLE CANADA, Minn. -Cheri L. Lunders, 54, formerly of Mason City, died Saturday (July 15, 2000) in St. Paul, Minn.

A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 19, at Roseville Lutheran Church in Roseville, Minn.

Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Chapel Funeral Providers was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers. A memorial fund will be established by the family in Cheri's name.

Cheri was born in Mason City on Feb. 15, 1946, and graduated from Mason City High School in 1964. She attended Luther College and received her degree in 1968. Later, Cheri received her master's degree in education from the University of Minnesota.

Cheri will be remembered as a dear, fun, sweet, intelligent and wonderful friend.

She is survived by her loving husband, Joe, and loving daughter, Erin. She is the stepmother of J. J. (Michelle) Lunders and Lisa (Stephen) Hudziak; grandmother of Jordan, Morgan, Makayla and Dmitri; daughter of Jane Gooch of Mason City; sister of Skip Gooch and Suzie (Glen) Edgar. She is also survived by her nieces, nephews and caring friends.

Cheri was preceded in death by her father, Charles Jr., of Mason City.

FLOYD FRANKLIN CLARK

CLEAR LAKE - Floyd Franklin Clark, 86, of 2112 S. Lakeview Dr., died Tuesday (July 18, 2000) at Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Clear Lake Evangelical Free Church, with the Rev. David Wiersbe officiating. Interment will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, and will resume one hour prior to the service at the church Friday.

Memorials may be given to the Floyd Franklin Clark Memorial Fund or the Evangelical Free Church.

Floyd Franklin Clark, the son of Jess and Emma (Box) Clark, was born Jan. 23, 1914, on a farm near Galt.

Floyd married Leila Maddy on June 15, 1935, at Chariton. Floyd began farming near Russell in 1936. Their first years he broke horses for a dollar a day and worked part time in coal mines to support the farm. He farmed in Lucas and Marion counties in southern Iowa until 1950. In 1950 he realized a life-time dream of owning a farm in northern Iowa. He owned and farmed several farms in the Britt and Mason City areas until retiring and moving to Clear Lake in 1965. From 1965 until the early 1980s, he and his wife, Leila, delivered motor homes for Winnebago. He drove over 1 million miles and would eventually visit every state in the U. S. and every Canadian province.

Floyd attended the Clear Lake Evangelical Free Church and was on the Board of Directors of the Clear Lake Senior Citizens. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards and telling stories of growing up with 11 brothers and sisters in the horse-and-buggy days. He loved all activities that involved his grandchildren and training and showing off his dog, Duke.

Floyd is survived by his wife, Leila, Clear Lake; three children, Howard Clark and his wife, Genevieve, Davis City, Yvonne Rossiter and her husband, Carrol, Nora Springs, and Joyce Wood and her husband, Leland, Hanlontown; eight grandchildren, Travis Clark and his wife, Michelle, Tracy Andrews and her husband Barry, Carmen Langford and her husband, Jim, Connie Rossiter, Christy Rossiter, Charles Rossiter, Bryan Wood, and Craig Wood and his wife, Barbara; ten great-grandchildren, Caitlin and Cierra Clark, Makayla and Kyle Andrews, Christina and Crystal Langford, and Scott, Lisa, Christofer and Shana Wood; brothers, Lewis, Jay and Clifford Clark; sisters, Anna Mae Whittlesey, Jessie Morton and Ruby Mills; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jess and Emma Clark; sister, Eva Mae; and brothers, Wilbur, Lee, Donald and Clyde.

WINNEBAGO, Ill.- Lucile F. Carle Wheeler, 89, formerly of Nashua and Rockwell, died Wednesday (July 19, 2000) at the Willows On Main of Rockford, Ill.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 22, at Genandt Funeral Home, 602 N. Elida St. and Winnebago Rd., Winnebago, Ill., with the Rev. Joseph A Warner, pastor of the United Methodist Church of Winnebago, officiating. Burial will be in the Winnebago Cemetery.

Lucile was born Dec. 4, 1910, at Nashua, the daughter of Charles and Serepta Allison Carle. She graduated from Rockwell High School in 1927 and completed her bachelor's degree in education at Northern Illinois University in 1965.

Lucile married L. V. Wheeler at Hanford, on Jan. 14, 1933. Mr. Wheeler passed away March 13, 1974. She taught special education 25 years, both in Iowa and Illinois, retiring in 1975.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Winnebago, where she served as a lay pastor. She also taught Sunday school, was a member of the Ladies Aid Society and assisted the church organist.

Lucile served for many years on the Winnebago Library Board and was a past president. She was also a member of the Illinois Education Association and the Retired School Teachers Association.

Lucile is survived by five sons, Alvin C. (Judy) Wheeler of Schofield, Wis., Robert J (Donna) Wheeler of Racine, Wis., Richard J. (Libby) Wheeler of Winnebago, Ill., Gordon P. (Nancy) Wheeler of Manteno, Ill., and Norman R. (Sarah) Wheeler of Pecatonica, Ill.; her daughter, Beverly (Tom) Goodson of Rockford, Ill.; her stepdaughter, Norma Jane (Marvin) Bell of Oakley, Ill.; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Clarence Carle; and two sisters, Hazel Matheson and Eva Washington.

HOWARD M. VORLAND

NORTHWOOD - Howard M. Vorland, 79, died Tuesday (July 18, 2000) at Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.

Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at United Methodist Church in Northwood, with the Rev. Jensen officiating. Inurnment will be in Sunset Rest Cemetery in Northwood, with military graveside honors by "Our Buddies" VFW Memorial Post No. 6779 of Northwood.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church, where a public Order of the Eastern Star service and Masonic service by the Northern Light Masonic Lodge No. 262 of Northwood will take place at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service time at the church Saturday.

According to his wishes his body was cremated. Conner Colonial Chapel in Northwood is in charge of the arrangements.

Howard M. Vorland was born on Oct. 14, 1920, in rural Eagle Grove, the son of Helge and Louise (Thompson) Vorland. He attended rural country schools near Eagle Grove and graduated from Manson High School in 1941.

After high school he moved to San Diego, Calif., and worked at Consolidated Aircraft Corp. until entering the U. S. Marine Corps on Feb. 16, 1943, in Des Moines. He saw action in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre during World War II until his honorable discharge on Nov. 3, 1945, at Great Lakes, Ill.

After his honorable discharge, he entered Buena Vista College in Storm Lake, receiving his bachelor's degree. After completing his schooling, he taught school and was also the high school principal in the Burnside Iowa School system.

He was united in marriage to Shirley Dwelle on Dec. 28, 1947, in Northwood. In 1953 they moved to Northwood, where Howard was the elementary principal for 30 years for the Northwood - and later for Northwood-Kensett - Community school until his retirement in 1983. He coached the girls and boys junior high basketball teams and also coached football and high school wrestling.

He enjoyed woodworking, especially building wood-strip canoes, fishing, hunting, camping golfing, bowling, reading, gardening and cooking.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Northwood and was the Sunday school superintendent for many years. He was a life member of "Our Buddies" VFW Memorial Post No. 6779 of Northwood, life member of the 4th Marine Division, 50-year member of the Northern Light Order of the Eastern Star and the Northern Light Masonic Lodge No. 262 of Northwood, Northwood Lions Club, where he held various offices in the organizations, as well as other community and civic organization.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Shirley Vorland, of Northwood; two sons and their families, Jim Vorland and his wife, Mary, and their children, Michael and David, of Preston, and Tom Vorland and his wife, Joan, of Northwood and her son, Ryan Grundmeier and his wife, Irene; two daughters, Jeanine Vorland of Blooming Prairie, Minn., and Marianne Sandberg and her husband, Tom, of Manchester and their children, Daniel and Steven Sandberg; six brothers, Herman Vorland and his wife, Marge, of Hardy, Eugene Vorland and his wife, Florence, of Yuma, Ariz., Glen Vorland and his wife, Mavis, of Chokio, Minn., Edmund Vorland of Clear Lake, Richard Vorland and his wife, Virginia, of Clear Lake, and Kenneth Vorland and his wife, Marlene, of Hardy; several nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

KEN SCHIERMEISTER

MASON CITY - Ken Schiermeister, 56, of 833 Eleventh St. N.E., died Monday (July 17, 2000) at Methodist Hospital, Rochester, Minn.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. James Lutheran Church, 1148 Fourth St. S.E., Mason City, with the Rev. David Anderson officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City.

Ken Schiermeister was born Jan. 15, 1944, in Linton, N. D., the son of Jake and Johanna (Schmidt) Schiermeister. He attended schools in Linton and attended North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton, N. D.

Ken was united in marriage with Dianne Hall Aug. 3, 1968, in Lakeville, Minn. They lived in Lakeville and Spencer before moving to Mason City in 1979.

Ken sold industrial chemicals for many years and has been with DuBois since 1991. He owned and operated Schiermeister and Company for a number of years.

Ken was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, where he served as deacon. He enjoyed keeping in touch with his family, and he especially enjoyed spoiling his granddaughter, for whom he had a special place in his heart.

Ken is survived by his wife, Dianne Schiermeister, Mason City; two daughters, Brenda Bird, Hiawatha, and Tammy Schiermeister, Mason City; a son, Justin Schiermeister and his wife, Trish, Mason City; a granddaughter, Jessica Rae Schiermeister, Hiawatha; a grandson on the way; nine sisters, Martha Walther and her husband, Emanuel, Bismarck, N. D., Edna Serr and her husband, Henry, Hazelton, N. D., Bertha Massullo, Atascadero, Calif., Eleanor Schiermeister, Sacramento, Calif., Hilda Houseman and her husband, Jim, Atascadero, Calif., Vi Kizis and her husband, John, Phoenix, Ariz., LiAnn Hathaway and her husband, Glenn, Phoenix, Ariz., Margie Smith and her husband, Don, Stanton, N. GENEVIEVE DIANA LARSON LUNSTRUM

MASON CITY - Genevieve Diana Larson Lunstrum, 93, of 302 Second St. N.E., died Tuesday (July 18, 2000) at Good Shepherd Health Center, Mason City.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Faith Baptist Church, 1807 S. Kentucky, Mason City, with the Rev. Miles Grismore of Faith Baptist Church and the Rev. Dave Wiersbe of Evangelical Free Church in Clear Lake officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City.

Genevieve Diana Larson Lunstrum was born in Winnebago County on March 7, 1907, to George and Theodore (Bilstad) Larson. She completed eight years in country school near Joice and graduated from Forest City High School.

On Feb. 12, 1925, Genevieve was united in marriage with Paul N. Lunstrum at Albert Lea, Minn. They farmed two miles north of Forest City. To this union were born five children.

In 1949 they moved to a farm east of Leland. In 1955 they moved to southern California and returned to Iowa nine months later, settling in Mason City. In 1957 Genevieve accepted a clerking job at McClellan's, remaining in that position until retiring in 1969.

Genevieve was a member of Faith Baptist Church, Mason City. She enjoyed having her children and grandchildren gathered at her home. She also enjoyed keeping scrapbooks about her family.

She is survived by her three sons, Ralph Lunstrum and his wife, Bennie, Mason City, Glen Lunstrum and his wife, Betty, Homeland, Calif., and Stanford Lundstrum and his wife, Virginia, Batavia, Ill; a daughter, Linda Everding and her husband, Richard, Mason City; a daughter-in-law, Bonnie Lunstrum, Mason City; 15 grandchilren, Lynn Hopper, Lori Vande Wall, Larry Lunstrum, Linda Kosvik, Timothy Lunstrum, Daniel Lunstrum, Kent Lunstrum, Mariam Williams, Calvin Lunstrum, Steven Lunstrum, Elizabeth Erlhenborn, John Lunstrum, Rodney Everding, Nancy Hugo and Jeanette Everding; 31 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Genevieve was preceded in death by her husband, Paul; a son, Philip; two sisters, Adelane Larson and Olga (Larson) Cleveland; and two grandchildren, Pamela Lunstrum and Mark Everding.

MASON CITY - Ardeen J. Balduf, 73, of 24 Sunny Circle, died Tuesday (July 18, 2000) at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa.

Ardeen was born March 7, 1927, in Mason City, the daughter of Glen and Evelyn (Crepow) Kephart. She graduated from Mason City High School in 1947 and Mason City Junior College in 1949.

Ardeen married Walter "Cooney" Balduf June 20, 1948, in Mason City. She worked as a paraprofessional in the Mason City School District for 22 years, retiring in 1989.

She was an active member of First Christian Church for many years and a 50-year member of the Eastern Star. She loved her family, church and cooking.

Ardeen is survived by her husband, Walter "Cooney" Balduf, of Mason City; three sons, Blane Balduf of Burleson, Texas, Barry Balduf of Mason City and Brent Balduf of Nevada; her mother, Evelyn Kephart of Mason City; nine grandchildren, Jenny, Elena, Sam, John Bryan, Brittney, Alecia, Aimee and Emily; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Thomas Kephart, of Holt, Mich.

Ardeen was preceded in death by her father, Glen; and her brother, Glen Jr.
