Emily was a bright 14 year old with a love for life. She was an avid Minnesota Viking's fan and participated in band and track while in Clear Lake middle school.

Emmy loved her family, friends and animals, Shelley and Bootsie, and also enjoyed writing poetry, stories and drawing. Her favorite holiday was celebrating the Fourth of July, where she shared the love of the Clear Lake Fire Museum and riding on the Ahrens Fox during the parade with her father and being with her extended family, the Clear Lake Volunteer Fire Dept.

She and her mom spent many hours playing board games and doing puzzles. Emmy was a caregiver and was always concerned about her friends and classmates.

Emmy was a member of the Girl Scouts, an active participant in Pilgrim Youth Fellowship of the First Congregational Church and would have been a freshman at Clear Lake High School.

Left to cherish her memories are her parents, Roger and Vickie Nelson, of Clear Lake; her brother Kevin "K.C." Nelson, of Clear Lake; maternal grandparents, Pete and Betty Cash and her paternal grandmother, Vivian Nelson, all of Clear Lake; her godmother, Leila Coe, of Clear Lake; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends.
