** Martin Wetter

OSAGE — Martin Wetter, 85, died Monday (Aug. 10, 1998) at North Iowa Mercy Health Center West, Mason City.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Osage.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Champion Funeral Home, Osage.

Further arrangements are pending.

** Paul J. Brachey

ST. HELENS, Ore. — Paul J. Brachey, 56, died Wednesday (July 9, 1998) at a hospital in Portland, Ore.

Memorial services were held in St. Helens.

Paul was born Sept. 30, 1941, in Mason City and graduated from St. Joseph's High School. He was a long-time employee and manager of Kinney Shoe Stores and lived in Ohio, Colorado and Oregon.

He was a member of the VFW, North American Hunting Club and a life member of the 2-10 Foundation. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, camping, golf and working with stained glass.

Paul is survived by his son, John Paul Brachey of Texas; his brother, Craig James Brachey, of Dodge City, Kan.; and two sisters, Nancy Watskche of Bedford, N.H.; and Joan Johanneson of St. Helens, Ore.

Paul was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia (Kelley) Brachey, and father, Telford Brachey.

** Helen M. Knudsen

ST. ANSGAR — Helen M. Knudsen, 69, died Monday (Aug. 10, 1998) at St. Marys Hospital, Rochester, Minn.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Toeterville.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. at Schroeder and Sites Funeral Home, 207 S. School St., St. Ansgar.

Further arrangements are pending.

** Helen R. Wicks

MASON CITY — Helen R. Wicks, 87, of 361 S. Pennsylvania Ave., died Saturday (Aug. 8, 1998) at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Wayside Chapel of First United Methodist Church, 119 S. Georgia, Mason City, with the Rev. Sharon Betsworth officiating. Interment will take place in Elmwood Cemetery, Mason City.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Mason City, and also one hour prior to the service at the church.

Memorials may be directed to First United Methodist Church or Hospice of North Iowa.

Helen was born Sept. 28, 1910, at Fort Dodge, the daughter of Edward T. and Leona (Young) Stake. She graduated from Fort Dodge High School and Fort Dodge Junior College.

Helen was married to Dr. Vaughn E. Wicks on Nov. 28, 1934, at Owatonna, Minn. They moved to Mason City in 1934 when Dr. Wicks opened his podiatry practice. Helen worked for her husband for many years as his receptionist and bookkeeper. She also worked as cashier at the former Busy Bee Shoe Store on North Federal Ave.

Helen was a member of First United Methodist Church where she was active over the years in various church groups. She was a member of Mason City Little Theatre in the late 1930s, Mason City Country Club and Mason City Women's Club.

She is survived by her daughter, Marilynn K. DiSalvo and her husband, Joseph, Stamford, Conn.; a son, Vaughn E. Wicks Jr, Hubbard, Ore.; five granddaughters, Jennifer A. Cornell and her husband, Todd, Atlanta, Ga., Cynthia H. Hart and husband, Derrick, Stamford, Conn., Alice S. Jent and her husband, Christopher, Stamford, Conn., Christina K. Bennett and her husband, Anthony, Highland, Calif., and Catrina K. Mason and her husband, Bradley, Highland, Calif.; and six great-grandchildren, Drew Cornell, Atlanta, Ga., James Jent, Stamford, Conn., Julia and Jason Bennett, Highland, Calif., Brandon and Alyssa Mason, Highland, Calif.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dr. Vaughn, on May 1992; and one brother, Raymond.

** Mary Lou Olson

MASON CITY — Mary Lou Olson, 66, of 149 16th Street N.W., died Monday (Aug. 10, 1998) at her home.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at Hogan Bremer Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E., Mason City.

** Alice M Crimmings

MANLY — Alice M. Crimmings, 95, died Monday (Aug. 10, 1998) at Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at Bride Colonial Chapel, 110 Spring St., Manly.

** Opal B. Mielke

NORTHWOOD — Opal B. Mielke, 83, died Monday (Aug. 10, 1998) at the Lutheran Retirement Home, Northwood.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at Conner Colonial Chapel, 99 Eleventh Street S., Northwood.

** Shirley Gross

ROCKFORD — Shirley Gross, 73, died Sunday (Aug. 9, 1998) at the Sun Rise Care Center, Mason City.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Schumburg Funeral Home, 302 West Main, Rockford, with the Rev. David Anderson of St. James Lutheran Church, Mason City, officiating. Burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Schumburg Funeral Home.

Shirley was born in Rockford Dec. 26, 1924.

She is survived by her husband, Donald R. Gross, Rockford; two sons, Gordon R. and Curtis W. Gross, both of Rockford; two sisters, DeLoris M. Ubben, of Waterloo, and Evelyn Deets, of Mason City; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two children, one brother and one sister.

** Natalie Sue Reiners

FORT DODGE — Natalie Sue Reiners, 25, of Johnston formerly of Fort Dodge, died Sunday (Aug. 9, 1998) at Mercy Hospital, Cedar Rapids.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church, Fort Dodge, with the Rev. David A. Feltman and the Rev. Greg Bock officiating. Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery, Fort Dodge.

Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Gunderson Funeral Home, Fort Dodge.

Natalie Reiners was born Aug. 2, 1973, in Des Moines. In 1975 she moved with her family to Fort Dodge. She attended Fort Dodge schools, graduating from Fort Dodge Senior High School in 1991.

During her high school years in Fort Dodge, she worked as the manager of the Expo Pool for four years. She then entered Wartburg College in Waverly, graduating in 1995 with a BA Degree in Elementary Education.

She was very active in high school and college athletics, participating in softball and volleyball. For the past three years she worked at the Perry Elementary School. In the summer months she worked as an adjuster for State Farm Insurance.

Natalie was currently working on her master's degree in education at Drake University, Des Moines. For the 1998/99 school year, she was going to teach fifth grade at Crestview Elementary School, West Des Moines.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Fort Dodge.

Natalie Reiners is survived by her parents, Gary and Venita Reiners, Fort Dodge; two brothers, Randy Reiners, Iowa City, and Terry Reiners, Fort Dodge; a sister, Amy Thilges and her husband, Denny, Mason City; two nieces, Lauren and Madison Thilges; a nephew, Ezra Reiners; and grandparents, George and Edna Reiners, Dumont.

Natalie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Harry and Engelena Brocka; an uncle, Randall Dean Reiners; and an aunt, Cindy Sue Reiners.

** Jerry Thomas Park

BROOKLYN CENTER, Minn. — Jerry Thomas Park, 66, of New Brighton, Minn., died Saturday (Aug. 8, 1998) at North Memorial Hospice, Brooklyn Center, Minn.

Funeral services will be held at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Evans-Nordby Funeral Home, 6000 Brooklyn Blvd., Brooklyn Center, Minn. Interment will take place at 3 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home.

Jerry Thomas Parks was a proud member of Club Cherokee.

He is survived by two sons, Timothy J. Parks and his wife, Linda, of Slinger, Wis., and Thomas J. Parks and his wife, Peg, of San Diego, Calif.; a daughter, Kate Rose of Mankato, Minn.; a brother, Jim Parks and his wife, Dorothy, of Olatha, Kan., a sister, Margaret Parks of Des Moines; three grandchildren, Evan J. Parks, Jeremy J. Parks and Lea L. J. Parks; and his former wife, Anna Parks of Des Moines.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.

** Leona Milton

OSAGE — Leona Milton, 88, died Monday (Aug. 10, 1998) at the Faith Lutheran Home, Osage.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Osage, with the Rev. Philip Recker officiating. Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery.

Visitation will begin after 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Champion Funeral Home, Osage, with a rosary at 3 p.m. and a scripture service at 7:30 p.m.

Leona Milton was born Oct. 7, 1909, in Stacyville.

She is survived by one son, Allyn Milton, Osage; three sisters, Martha Demuth, Prairie du Chien, Wis., Jo Rodewald, Salem, Ore., and Linda Stultz, Osage; one brother, Clem Weber, Bothell, Wash.; one grandson; one granddaughter; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, five sisters and six brothers.

** Lola Larie Pine Sweetser

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Lola Larie Pine Sweetser, 76, passed away peacefully at her home in Knoxville Wednesday (Aug. 5, 1998) following a lengthy illness.

The daughter of the late Charles and Mattie Pine, she was born in Clear Lake and was an actress and English teacher prior to moving to Knoxville, Tenn., in 1947.

She was active in her community where she served as a member of the Trilogy Club; a volunteer for the East Tennessee Children's Hospital, Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts; and attended the First Church of Christ, Scientist, Knoxville.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Clark A. (Cas) Sweetser; son and daughter-in-law, Allen and Susan Sweetser, Powell, Tenn.; daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Wayne Bruce, Knoxville, Tenn.; son and daughter-in-law, Robbie Sweetser and Jenny Mercer, Asheville, N.C.; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Larry Pound, Walland, Tenn.; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; four sisters, Izetta Pine, Goldie Veach and Ruby Logeman, all of Mason City; and many nieces and nephews.

She has been laid to rest at Highlands Memorial Funeral Home, 5315 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, Tenn. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the American Parkinson's Disease Foundation, 1250 Hylan Blvd., Ste. 4B, Staten Island, New York 10305.

** Robert J. Young

CHARLES CITY — Robert J. "Bob" Young, 55, of 804 Tenth Ave., died Monday (Aug. 10, 1998) at the Floyd County Memorial Hospital, Charles City.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Charles City, with Monsignor Stanley J. Hayek officiating. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery, Charles City.

Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Hauser Funeral Home, Charles City. The vigil parish scriptural wake service will begin at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue at 9 a.m. Thursday at the church prior to services.

Robert James "Bob" Young was born Sept. 3, 1942, in Charles City.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria of Charles City; two sons, Robert "Robbie" Young and Christopher Young, both of Charles City; his father, Arlo Young of Charles City; a sister Linda Hansen, Charles City; and a step-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

** Frank Pruisman

BELMOND — Frank Pruisman, 89, died Monday (Aug. 10, 1998) at the Belmond Community Hospital, Belmond.
