at the Clarion Health Care Center.

Funeral Home, with the Rev. Curt Miner of the United Church of

Christ Congregational officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen

Cemetery.



Visitation will be held one hour prior to services on Wednesday

at the Willim Funeral Home.



Wanda T. Harris was born Aug. 4, 1908, in Clarion.



Survivors include her daughter, Beverly Elliott of Lakeside,

Calif.; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.



She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Burial will be at West Zion Cemetery, near Rake.

Hanson of St. Anthony Village, Minn.; three grandchildren; her

parents, Wm. Paul and Lillian Mastin, Buffalo Center; and two

sisters, Delores Loewe of LeCenter, Minn., and Ramona Carlson

of Wesley.

Walter Harvey Hanson was born Aug. 13, 1908, at Buffalo Center.



Survivors include his wife, Elvera of Buffalo Center; and one

brother, Elmer, Roswell, Ga.



He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and six

brothers.

Ricky G. Jung, 42, of 524 18th St. S.E., died Sunday (Nov.

24, 1996) at home.



Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity

Lutheran Church, 213 N. Pennsylvania Ave., with the Rev. John

``Jack'' Gannett officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery,

Sheffield.



Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Major Erickson

Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., and one hour prior to

services at the church on Wednesday.



Memorials may be given to the Francis Lauer Youth Services or

Gerard of Iowa.



Ricky was born April 7, 1954, in Mason City, the son of Henry

L. and Helen M. (Koch) Jung.



Ricky was raised in Sheffield and in 1970, the family moved

to Mason City where Ricky graduated from Mason City High School.



Ricky was last employed at Opportunity Village in Clear Lake.



He enjoyed fishing, photography, the outdoors, the Minnesota

Vikings, and being with his family.



He will be lovingly missed by his family.



Survivors include his mother, Helen M. Jung of Mason City; daughters,

Ashley M. Jung and Amanda J. Jung; brother, Ronald L. Jung,

Chicago, Ill.; fiancee, Leanne F. Craig and her children, Lisa,

Brandon and Logan; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.



He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Winter Funeral

on Saturday.



Otis Vaagen was born Nov. 2, 1920, in Rake.



Survivors include his wife, E. May Vaagen of Rake; one daughter,

Karen Silrum of Clive; one son, David Vaagen of Albert Lea, Minn.;

11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Paul

Vaagen of Forest City, and Martin Vaagen of Chicago, Ill.; and

four sisters, Gertrude Russ of Rake; Ada Leland of Albert Lea,

Minn.; Edna Chidester of Mesa, Ariz., and Anna Mae Nodland of

Frost, Minn.



He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

Winnebago County.



Survivors include three daughters, Linda Rausch-Danniels of

Toronto, Ontario, Canada; Debra Beliso of Long Beach, Calif.,

and Susan Rausch of Pasadena, Calif.; two grandchildren; two

sisters, Geneva Hendrikson of Mason City, and Charlotte Oulman

of Leland; and four brothers, George Brones, Donald Brones and

Allen Brones, all of Denver, Colo., and John Brones of Forest

City.



She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Merlin C. Bobst was born May 21, 1921, in Alexander.

two sons, Jerry Payton of Belmond, and Michael Bobst of Des Moines;

one sister, Wilma Thompson of Eagle Grove; 13 grandchildren;

and nine great-grandchildren.

Stoa, chaplain of the Lutheran Retirement Home, officiating.



Interment will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Elmwood-St. Joseph

Cemetery.



Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. today at Major Erickson

Funeral Home, and until time of services on Friday.

Gail R. Nelson was born March 8, 1908, in Northwood, the daughter

of Ole and Inga (Ranum) Harmon.



She graduated from Northwood High School and went on to secretarial

school in Waterloo.



Gail married George L. Nelson on March 29, 1935, in Northwood.



Gail worked many years at Lundbergs in Mason City.



She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, and enjoyed

playing bridge.



Survivors include a sister, Dorothy Horvei and her husband,

Andrew, of Charles City; a sister, Phyllis Swab of Cape Coral,

Fla.; nieces, Sue Whitmarch, Sondra Hecox, Rosemarie Harmon,

Judy Mellem, Sally Jordan and her husband, Brad and their child,

Jordan; Sheri Matheson and her husband, Steve, and their children,

Jim and Tim.



She was preceded in death by her husband, George, in 1982; a

brother, Irvin Harmon; and a sister, Fern Mellem.

James Kenneth Agey, 59, of 1409 Thompson, Des Moines, died

Tuesday (Nov. 26, 1996) at Mercy Hospital Medical Center, Des

Moines.

Catholic Church, Des Moines. There is no burial. The body was

donated to the College of Osteopathic Medicine.



Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Southtown

James Kenneth Agey was born March 3, 1937, to Kenneth and Catherine

(Carey) Agey, in Des Moines.



He was employed at the U.S. Post Office Bulk Mail Center as

a supervisor.



He was a member of the National Association of Postal Supervisors

and a regional officer of Parents Without Partners.



Survivors include son, Joe Agey of Des Moines; daughter, Julie

VanZuuk,  New Sharon; son, Richard Agey, Des Moines; son, John

Agey of Cambridge, England; son, James Agey of Des Moines; longtime

companion, Donna McMulin of Newton; 12 grandchildren; and one

sister, Cathie Ayers of Clear Lake.

Edward N. Hunt, 58, of 114 W. North St., died Wednesday (Nov.

27, 1996) at his home.



No services will be held. The body was cremated.

Edward N. Hunt was born Dec. 22, 1937, at Ukiah, Calif., the

son of Irvin W. and Cleora  L. (Lawrence) Hunt.



He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.



He married Doreen A. Smy in 1957 in England.



Ed was employed by McKinness Excavating for 11 years. He also

worked for Winnebago Industries.



Ed and his wife, Doreen, were married for 39 years.



Survivors include his wife, Doreen Hunt of Manly; four daughters,

Susan Shannon and her husband, Mike, of Mason City; Linda Witt

and her husband, James; Julie Tackett and her husband, Gene,

and Kathy Ostrander and her husband, Terry, all of Manly; 11

grandchildren, John, Jackie and Robert Shannon, of Mason City;

Cassandra, Katrina and Alex Witt, Jamie Patterson, Alisha and

Tiffany Tackett and Chris and Tina Ostrander, all of Manly; one

sister, Delores Willis of Corning, Calif.; two brothers, Leroy

Hunt of Alabama, and Lynn Hunt of Missouri.



He was preceded in death by his parents.

at the Good Samaritan Cemetery.

Knob Lutheran Church, rural Forest City, with the Rev. Robert

Snitzer officiating. Burial will be in Pilot Knob Cemetery.

Lund Funeral Home, with the family present to greet friends.



Evelyn Morem was born June 15, 1909, in Cerro Gordo County.



Survivors include her husband, Raymond Morem, Forest City; two

daughters, Delores Nyhus of Forest City, and Donna Eden of Wesley;

five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one brother,

Everett Leach of Forest City.



She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, one

half brother and one sister.

Roger Christopherson was born Oct. 16, 1919, in Butler County.



Survivors include his wife, Lucy Christopherson of Allison;

Saturday. There will be additional visitation one hour prior

to services at the church.



Walter J. Huxsol was born Sept. 29, 1922, in Charles City.



Survivors include his wife, Fran, of Charles City; two sons,

Jim Huxsol of Brookfield, Wis., and Bob Huxsol of Nashua, N.H.;

two daughters, Patty Huxsol of Dover, N.H., and Connie Hertel

of Saco, Maine; 16 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two

sisters, Ruth Boelsen of Marble Rock, and Louise Huxsol of Charles

City; and one brother, Marvin Huxsol of Charles City.



He was preceded in death by his parents.

of Corwith.



Survivors include five sons, Donovan Studer of Algona; Leonard

Studer of Liberty, Mo.; Rollin ``Chuck'' Studer of Britt; Merlin

Studer, Wesley, and Kermit Studer, Clear Lake; 25 grandchildren;

42 great-grandchildren; and one brother, George Glawe of Corwith.



She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son,

two grandsons, one great-grandson, one brother and three sisters.

He was a longtime Rockford businessman and owned Fischer Chevrolet

and Implement.



Funeral services are tentatively planned for 10:30 a.m. Monday,

Warren A. Ruby

MASON CITY



Warren A. Ruby, 84, of 639 Seventh St. N.E., died Wednesday

(Nov. 27, 1996) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit.

United Methodist Church, 119 S. Georgia Ave., with the Rev. Sharon

Betsworth officiating. Private family burial will be at the Salem

North Cemetery, Lake Mills.



There will be no visitation. The body was cremated.



Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., is in

charge of arrangements.



Memorials may be given to Hospice of North Iowa in his memory.



Warren A. Ruby was born June 2, 1912, in Lake Mills, the son

of F.A. and Dottie (Avery) Ruby.



Warren attended and graduated from Lake Mills High School in

1930. He then attended Morningside College for one year, then

the University of Iowa and graduated in 1935. He received his

masters degree in art from the University of Minnesota.



He married Evelyn Barber on May 17, 1936, in Lamoni.



Warren taught in Leon for two years before coming to Mason City

in 1937. He taught at Lincoln and Roosevelt for one year each

before teaching at Mason City High School and Mason City Junior

College, serving as art director until his retirement in 1978.



Warren enjoyed woodcarving, playing cards and games, repairing

clocks, model trains, photography, jewelry making and painting

nature and wildlife scenes. He even learned how to paint with

his left hand after his first stroke.



He also was very involved with the North Iowa Band Festival

and in June, he received the Dan Klempauer Band Festival Service

Award for his contributions to the festivals.



Warren also helped with the North Iowa Fair by decorating booths.

He and Evelyn also had an ice cream sandwich stand.



Warren also was an author and helped illustrate several books.

He also drew anatomical drawings for the University of Iowa's

Medical Department.



He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Toastmasters

and Little Theater. He was a Boy Scout leader and former member

of the Masonic Lodge and White Shrine.



Warren and Evelyn enjoyed their summers at the lake in Wisconsin.



Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Ruby, of Mason City; one

daughter, Cheryl R. Paine and her husband, Greg, of St. Paul,

Minn.; two sons, Warren A. Ruby Jr. and his wife, Bobbie, of

Evanston, Ill., and Cedric E. Ruby and his wife, Donna, of West

Des Moines; five grandchildren, David Ruby and his wife, Elizabeth,

of Palatine, Ill.; Cedric ``Chip'' Ruby II of Fort Dodge; Cynthia

Ruby of West Des Moines; Diana E. Ruby of Waukegan, Ill., and

Heather Paine of St. Paul, Minn.; one great-granddaughter, Meridian

Elena Ruby of Palatine, Ill.; one sister, Frances Grimes of Des

Moines; and several nieces and nephews.



He was preceded in death by his parents, six sisters and two

brothers.

Gail R. Nelson was born March 8, 1908, in Northwood, the daughter

of Ole and Inga (Ranum) Harmon.



She graduated from Northwood High School and went on to secretarial

school in Waterloo.



Gail married George L. Nelson on March 29, 1935, in Northwood.



Gail worked many years at Lundbergs in Mason City.



She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, and enjoyed

playing bridge.



Survivors include a sister, Dorothy Horvei and her husband,

Andrew, of Charles City; a sister, Phyllis Swab of Cape Coral,

Fla.; nieces, Sue Whitmarsh, Sondra Hecox, Rosemarie Harmon,

Judy Mellem, Sally Austin and her husband, Brad and their child,

Jordan, of West Des Moines; Sheri Matheson and her husband, Steve,

and their children, Jim and Tim, of Tampa, Fla.



She was preceded in death by her husband, George, in 1982; a

brother, Irvin Harmon; and a sister, Fern Mellem.

PHOENIX, Ariz. 



John Durby, 73, of Phoenix, Ariz., died Thursday (Nov. 28, 1996)

at a care facility in Phoenix.



Funeral services are tentatively set for 1:30 p.m. Wednesday

at West Prairie Lutheran Church, Leland.



Other funeral arrangements are incomplete at Petersen Lund Funeral

Home, Forest City.

Agnes Gaynell Fitzgerald

MASON CITY 



Agnes Gaynell Fitzgerald, 89, of 512 17th St. S.E., Mason City,

died Thursday (Nov. 28, 1996) at the I.O.O.F. Home.



A funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph

Catholic Church, 302 Fifth St. S.E., with the Rev. John C. Paisley

officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery.



Visitation will begin after 5 p.m. Sunday at Hogan Bremer Colonial

Chapel, 126 Third St., N.E., with a scriptural prayer service

at 7 p.m. followed by a Knights of Columbus rosary at 7:30 p.m.



Agnes Gaynell Fitzgerald was born Aug. 24, 1907, in Latham,

Ill., the daughter of John and Nel (Conroy) Gasaway. She married

Willis E. Fitzgerald on Jan. 30, 1937.



Agnes graduated from St. Joseph's Academy in Mason City in 1927.

During income tax season she worked for various businesses preparing

taxes for many years.



She enjoyed traveling and sight-seeing with family and friends.

She enjoyed collecting and displaying antiques. Agnes was an

avid sports fan, being especially fond of the Minnesota Vikings

and the Minnesota Twins.



Agnes was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Parish and was a member

of St. Leo's Circle. She volunteered for Easter Seals, Cancer

Society, Red Cross and the Americana and Heritage Care Centers.



Survivors include four daughters, Mary Sue Dodge and friend,

Phil Abram, Mason City, Natalie (Nicki) French, Nora Springs,

Joan Behr Haywood, Mason City, and Margaret (Meg) Heinrichs and

her husband, Maury, Mason City; one son, Willis (Bill) Fitzgerald

and his wife, Terri, Cedar Falls; 15 grandchildren, Dawn Campbell,

Mason City, Tammy Portis, Nora Springs, Angela Craighton, Forest

City, Kerry Johnson, Rockford, Mick and Mark Behr, both of Algona,

Laurie Douglas and Kristin Behr, both of Scottsdale, Ariz., Mandy

Hawkshead, Knoxville, Tracy Behr, Vail, Colo., Adam and Bradi

Heinrichs, both of Mason City, Nicholas Heinrichs, Scottsdale,

Ariz., and Nathan and Molly Fitzgerald, Cedar Falls; 22 great-

grandchildren; two brothers, Donald Gasaway and his wife, Arlyne,

Mason City, and John Gasaway, Concorde, Calif.; one sister-in-law,

Barbara Gasaway, Mason City; and many nieces and nephews.



She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Willis,

on Dec. 30, 1965; two brothers, Charles and William Gasaway;

and two sons-in-law, Raymond French and Robert Haywood.

Richard James Klamfoth, infant son of Ed and Audrey (Beran)

Klamfoth, died Wednesday (Nov. 27, 1996) at the Mitchell County

Regional Health Center, Osage.



Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Saratoga

Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Tim Sir officiating. Burial

will be in the Saratoga Cemetery.



There will be no visitation. Lindstrom Funeral Home, Riceville,

is in charge of arrangements.



Survivors include his parents, Ed and Audrey Klamfoth of Riceville;

one brother, Joshua; maternal grandmother, Marie Beran of Lime

Springs; maternal great-grandmother, Barbara Beran of Riceville;

and paternal grandparents, David and Sharon Klamfoth of Waverly.



He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather.

Mary ``Mae'' Nelson

CLEAR LAKE 



Mary ``Mae'' Nelson, 75, of 913 Seventh Ave. North, Clear Lake,

died Thursday (Nov. 28, 1996) at North Iowa Mercy Health Center

East, Mason City.



Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Zion Lutheran

Church, 112 Fourth St. North, Clear Lake, with the Rev. Kermit

Roisen officiating. Burial will be in the Clear Lake Cemetery.



Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. Monday at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial

Chapel, 101 N. Fourth St., Clear Lake, and also one hour prior

to services at the church.



Mary ``Mae'' Nelson was born May 25, 1921, at Eagle Grove, the

daughter of Clyde and Anna Mary (Wernet) Enfield.



Most of Mae's school years were completed in Woolstock, and

then she graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1938.



She married Ernest ``Mick'' Nelson on April 28, 1941, in Albert

Lea, Minn.



Mae worked at several places in Clear Lake, including the Clear

Lake Creamery, the Truck Stop, the Lake Cafe, and she was a part-time

cook at the Senior Citizen's Center.



She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, the president of the

Hope Circle, and a member of T.O.P.S. and a card club.



She is survived by one son, David E. Nelson and his wife, Gloria,

of Baltimore, Md.; one daughter, Judy Neuberger and her husband,

David, of Thornton; four grandchildren, Michelle Luscombe and

her husband, Brent, of Thornton, Mike Stout of Clear Lake, Melody

Stout of Mason City, and Laura Nelson of Baltimore, Md.; four

step-grandchildren, David Neuberger II and his wife, Kerry, of

Klemme, Julie Anderson and her husband, Lance, of Clear Lake,

and Nicole Neuberger and Johan Neuberger, both of Thornton; three

great-grandchildren, Whitney Luscombe and Brandon Luscombe, both

of Thornton, and Miranda Stout of Mason City; one step-great-grandchild,

David Neuberger III of Klemme; a sister-in-law, Maxine Enfield;

a brother-in-law, Ralph Nelson and his wife, Dorothy; a sister-in-law,

Marie Poppeck; a sister-in-law, Barbara Gaines and her husband,

Bob; and a sister-in-law, Margaret Nelson; and many cousins,

nephews and nieces.



She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brother,

Franklin Enfield; and two children, Larry Wayne and Richard Paul.

Robert J. Fischer

ROCKFORD 



Robert J. Fischer Sr., 67, of 401 First St. N.E., Rockford,

died Wednesday (Nov. 27, 1996) at North Iowa Mercy Health Center

East, Mason City.



Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Rockford

United Methodist Church. Masonic funeral rites will be conducted

in conjunction with the regular services. Officiating will be

the Rev. Rosemary Rhode-Frank. Interment will be in the Riverside

Cemetery, Rockford.



Visitation will be held after 4 p.m. Sunday at the Schumburg

Funeral Home.



Bob was a life-long resident of Rockford following his birth

on March 6, 1929, in Mason City. He was the son of Otto and Meda

(Batty) Fischer. He graduated from the Rockford High School in

1947 and joined his father in the owning and operating of the

Fischer Chevrolet and Implement business in Rockford. Following

his father's death he continued with the business and with farming.



Bob was united in marriage to Marilyn Kimball on June 2, 1956,

in Clear Lake. He was a member of the Rock-Sirius Masonic Lodge

#294, which is a combination of the Rockford and Nora Springs

lodges. He joined the lodge in 1951. He was also a member of

the Cedar Rapids Scottish Rite and El Kahir Shrine in Cedar Rapids.

As Bob liked to say, his hobbies were ``Corn, Cows and Cars.''

His favorite pasttime was spending time fishing at Clear Lake,

South Dakota and Canada.



Bob is survived by his wife, Marilyn, of Rockford; one daughter,

Jane Fischer of Mason City; two sons, Robert and his wife, Sherry

Fischer Jr., and Steven and his wife, Robin Fischer, all of Rockford;

one sister, Peggy Parker of Rockford; five grandchildren, Kate,

Tony, Christopher, Leah and Brennan Fischer.



He was preceded in death by his parents.

HAMPTON 



Emma E. Hoiager, 90, of Hampton, died Thursday (Nov. 28, 1996)

at the Hampton Care Center.



Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. John's

Lutheran Church, rural Hampton, with the Rev. Louise Stromberg

officiating.  Burial will be in Coulter Cemetery.



Visitation was held Friday at the Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home,

Hampton.



Emma E. Hoiager was born Feb. 4, 1906, in Ackley.



Survivors include three nephews, Kermit Voy of Hampton, Harold

Voy of Ft. Collins, Colo., and Tom Voy of Dunkerton; and one

niece, LaVonne Cropley of Garner.



She was preceded in death by her husband and 10 brothers and

sisters.
