Thomas David Buis, 71, of Hampton, died on Tuesday, May 1, 2007, at his residence in Hampton.

Private family graveside services were held on Wednesday, May 2, at the Hampton Cemetery in Hampton. A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 11, at the Faith Baptist Church in Hampton, with a dinner at 6:30 p.m. and memorial services to follow. Memorials may be directed to the Faith Baptist Church Freedom in Christ Ministry. The Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home, Hampton, is in charge of the arrangements.

Clara Marie Lubkeman, 95, of Latimer, died on Sunday, May 13, 2007, at the Franklin General Hospital Nursing Facility in Hampton.

Visitation is planned for Tuesday, May 15, from 5-7:00 p.m., at the Ewing Dugger Helgeson Funeral Home, Latimer and one hour prior to the services at the church on Wednesday. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 16, at 10:30 a.m., at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Latimer. Burial will be in the St. Paul's Cemetery, Latimer.

Elizabeth Uhlenhopp, 93, of the Mayflower Homes in Grinnell, died on Friday, May 18, 2007, at the Grinnell Regional Medical Center.

Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, May 22, at 1:30 p.m., in the Carman Center of the Mayflower Homes. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, May 23, at the Hampton Cemetery. The Smith Funeral Home, Grinnell, is in charge of the arrangements.

Judy Jass, 62, of Iowa Falls, died on Monday, May 21, 2007, at the Ellsworth Municipal Hospital in Iowa Falls.

Visitation is planned for Thursday, May 24, from 5-7:00 p.m., at the Linn's Funeral Home Iowa Falls Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 25, at 2:00 p.m., at the Immanuel Memorial United Church of Christ in Alden. Burial will be in the Berlin Jackson Township Cemetery, Owasa.

Hampton Police Investigating Teen's Death

May 24, 2007

The Hampton Police Department, in a press release by Chief Jim Wobschall, said this morning that it is investigating the death of Robert Strand, 19, of Hampton.

On Wednesday, May 23, at 3:33 p.m., the Hampton Police received a 911 call for emergency medical assistance at an apartment in the 10 block of 1st Street Northwest. Upon arrival, Strand was found unresponsive and was transported to Franklin General Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

An autopsy has been ordered to determine the cause of death. Hampton Police are being assisted by the Franklin County Medical Examiner, Franklin General Ambulance, Franklin County Sheriff's Office, Department of Criminal Investigation, and the Franklin County Attorney. The investigation is continuing.

Robert Philip Strand, 19, of Hampton, died on Wednesday, May 23, 2007, at the Franklin General Hospital in Hampton.

Mark A. Little, 48, of Hampton, passed away on Saturday, May 26, 2007, at his home in Hampton.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Tuesday, May 29, at the Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home in Hampton, with burial in the Hampton Cemetery. Visitation will be at 11:00 a.m. until the service time at the Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home in Hampton. Rev. Jerry Miller will officiate.
