Because of health issues he was forced to retire early. Upon his retirement, he moved to Kissimmee, Florida, in 2006, where he was residing at the time of his passing.

Craig “CC” enjoyed playing Texas hold ’em poker online on his computer, where he made some wonderful lasting friendships. On Dec. 17, 2012, a very close friend and fellow poker player passed away, Emily Janeway. He was totally devastated with the loss of his dear friend. I am sure they are playing Texas hold ’em now. He loved watching crime shows on TV and could spend hours talking on the phone to friends.

Craig was preceded in death by his parents: his father, Clinton Stevenson in 1975, and his mother, Ruth Stevenson in 1989.

Craig leaves behind many friends and his two beloved cats, Bubba and Sugga; his two dear friends that he consider his “kids,” Bobby and Rhonda Stafford of Lakeland, Florida; his two “angels” Mark Gilbert of Altanta, Georgia, and Jody Moses-McCann of Fort Wayne, Indiana; Jackie Horn of Deer Park, New York, Amber Wilson of Baltimore, Maryland, Holger Woelke of Berlin, Germany, and Kathy Tyler (Munchkin) his Best Friend of Mason City.

We will all miss his loving ways, his funny sense of humor, the way he used to tease and his HUGE, HUGE loving heart.

You may be gone but you will NEVER be forgotten!

R.I.P. Craig

Always and Forever

Kathy

Guy P. Priestly

Alexander, Iowa — Guy P. Priestly, age 62, of Alexander, Iowa, died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, at his home in Alexander, Iowa, following a short battle with cancer, with his family at his side.

Private family funeral services will held on Monday at the Andrews Funeral Home, Belmond, Iowa. Pastor Philip Arnold will be officiating. Burial will be in the Belmond Cemetery, Belmond, Iowa.

Those wishing to express their sympathies through a memorial in Guy’s name may wish to direct them in care of Guy’s family at P.O. Box 134, Alexander, IA 50420.

Guy Prescott Priestly, the son of Samuel Morris and Virginia Elizabeth (Willis) Priestly, was born Aug. 5, 1950, at Long Beach, Calif. Guy graduated from high school at Victorville, Calif.

During the earlier years of his life, he loved the challenge and freedom he found as he spent times riding the waves on the ocean, surfing. He enjoyed the rush he found on the mountainsides where he was an excellent skier. He was even known to cut the slopes’ powdery snow, riding his skis backwards nearly as proficiently as forwards.

Guy was very much a free spirit and loved to spend times in the outdoors. He was fond of motorcycles and especially Harley-Davidson-flavored ones. One of his favorite jobs was working on a fishing boat where they would take clients out on excursions to catch trophy fish such as Marlin and other open sea trophies. He often referred to this as his favorite job.

Guy was united in marriage to Bobbi Jo Foss on Aug. 20, 1977, at the Bethany Reformed Church in Belmond. Their union was blessed with two beautiful girls which he adored, Ashly Jo and Jody A. Priestly.

For most of his career Guy was a master carpenter. He was very meticulous in his trade and was known far and wide for his wonderful carpentry skills. Guy continued to share and hone his building trade until injuries from an accident forced him to retire from full-time construction. He did, however, continued to remain active working on various house projects for his family over the years.

Guy and Bobbi Jo looked forward to each and every opportunity to focus their attention and spend time with their daughters. He loved to spectate and support them in their extracurricular activities during their school years. He was always concerned about their well-being and became even more so in more recent years following Jody’s passing in 2007. Guy made it a priority to call Ashly Jo many times a day to just check in and see what was going on in her life.

Guy very much enjoyed watching television game shows. He loved to play along with the games and was very knowledgeable of all of them. He could tell you the entire history of each game show including the names of those that had multiple hosts over the years. His favorite show, of course, was “Wheel of Fortune.”

He loved his Yorkies and would often be seen strolling about the streets of Alexander as he took them on daily walks. Guy enjoyed yard work and would often be found riding his lawn mower numerous times a week as he kept the yard in tip-top shape. He also loved antiques and collecting small collectibles.

Guy will be remembered by his family and friends as a man who enjoyed the simple things life offered including those precious times spent with his wife and girls. All who had the chance to get to know him will also remember his unique sense of humor.

His memory will live on in the hearts and minds of his wife and life partner of more than 35 years, Bobbi Jo Priestly, Alexander, Iowa; daughter, Ashly  (fiancee’ Kenn Jenkins), currently of Alexander, Iowa; sister, Roxanne (Tom) Fitzsimmons, Grass Valley, California; mother-in-law, Evanette “Evie” White and husband Ken, Belmond, Iowa; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Tony (Shelley) Foss, Gayle (Les) Thompson, all of Belmond, Todd (Denise) Foss, Clarion, Iowa, and Sally (Brad) Lindeman, Belmond, Iowa. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

Guy was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; his parents; his daughter, Jody A. Priestly April 15, 2007; and two brothers, Mike and Christopher “Andy” Priestly.
