CHARLES CITY - Alice T. Koehler, 80, of Charles City died Thursday (March 19, 2009) at the Ninth Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City.
A funeral Mass will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Carl Ries, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery at Charles City.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hauser Funeral Home, 1205 S. Main in Charles City, where the rosary will be held at 4:30 p.m. and the Vigil scriptural service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue Tuesday at the church an hour prior to the service.

Moser, Stanley Carl  
 
ELKADER - Stanley Carl Moser, 82, of Elkader died Wednesday (March 18, 2009) at the Elkader Care Center following a brief battle with cancer.
Stanley was born Dec. 26,1926, in Clayton County to Charles and Margaret (Tomkins) Moser.
On June 22, 1948, Stanley was united in marriage to Clara Wille. She preceded him in death.
Survivors include his five children, Daniel (Sue) Moser of Omaha, Neb., Richard Moser of Elkader, Michael (Cinda) Moser of Elkader, Joyce (Harlan) Patrick of Elkader and the Rev. John Moser of Osage; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Margaret Baer; one brother, Charles Moser; several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 23, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Elkader. Celebrant will be the Rev. John Moser with the Rev. Paul R. Peters and other priests as concelebrants. Interment with military honors will follow in the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, March 22, at the Leonard Funeral Home in Elkader where there will be a rosary at 4 p.m and a 6:30 pm Scripture service and one hour prior to the service at the church Monday.

Morgan, Daniel Lee  
 
PASCAGOULA, Miss. - Daniel Lee Morgan, 60, passed away Feb. 25, 2009, at Singing River Hospital in Pascagoula from pneumonia.
Funeral services were held at the Heritage Funeral Home chapel. Graveside services were held at Biloxi National Cemetery.
Dan was born in Pendleton, Ore., on Nov. 22, 1948, to Fred and Helen (Wagner) Morgan. He lived in the Mason City/Clear Lake area. Dan served two tours of duty in the Vietnam War with the Navy Seabees.
He did much traveling throughout his life and eventually finding his home in Mississippi after meeting his former wife, Gwen. Dan was a hard worker and had a reputation of being a master bricklayer.
He is survived by two daughters, Michelle Smith, Moss Point, Miss., and Alison Morgan, Pascagoula, Miss.; his granddaughter, Ashley Smith, Moss Point, Miss.; his grandson, Bryce Jordan, Pascagoula, Miss.; his sister, Rosemaree Johnson, Mason City; his brothers, Jay (Bev) Morgan, Pittsburgh, Calif.; and Bruce (Linda) Morgan, Westminster, Calif.
He was also survived by many special friends including Mary, Jimmy, Ray, Dale, Tim and Kat, Tony, Joseph, Tina and Barry, Kitty, Russel, Tony, and Gloria, Raymond, Deborah, Pat, Vern, Frieda and many more.

CLEAR LAKE- Paul Julius Reichardt, Jr., 68, of 121 N. 12th St., Clear Lake, died Thursday (March 19, 2009) at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa, Mason City.
Family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 24, and will share memories at 6:30 p.m. at Ward Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. Fourth St., Clear Lake.

Paul Julius Reichardt Jr. was born Sept. 4, 1940, in Cedar Rapids, he was the son of Paul Julius Sr. and step mother Helen (Bakerink) Reichardt. He grew up in Fontanelle until he was 18 years old. Paul moved to Garner where he worked for his cousin, Dale Reichardt, as a carpenter. He was carpenter until his retirement.
In March 1961, Paul was united in marriage to Sharon Laura Weaver; to this union five children were born. Later in life Paul met his life companion Mary Jo Stevens, they enjoyed several years together. He enjoyed traveling, reading, playing cards, golfing, cooking, fishing and taking weekend trips to the river. His greatest love was spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of the Elly's card club.
Paul is survived by his children, Lori (Bill) Wreghitt, Ventura, Melanie Huckins, Mason City, Brent (Helen) Reichardt, South Korea, Jeff Reichardt, Garner; grandchildren, Kelli Wreghitt (Gene Miller), Clear Lake, Steven Wreghitt, Ventura, Sara Reichardt, Germany, Justin and Emily Huckins, Mason City; one great-grandson, Jack Miller; Mary Jo's children, Annette Stevens, Mason City, Debbie (Jeff) Heine, Clear Lake, Joan Stevens, Fayette, Kathy (Bryan) Nielsen, San Diego, Calif.; Mary Jo's grandchildren, Alyssa (Nathan) Groom, Urbana, Erinn Heine, Clear Lake, Kelsey and Kira Nielsen, San Diego, Calif.; stepmother, Helen Reichardt, Fontanelle; sisters, Carol Kester and Karen Reichardt; along with nieces, nephews and other relatives and numerous friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Paul J. Reichardt Sr.; son, Todd Reichardt; and his life companion, Mary Jo Stevens.

Bruce was born May 2, 1959, in Mason City, the son of Randy and Blanche (Clapper) Schulze. He graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1978. He married Diane Hermanson Aug. 30, 1980, in Lake Mills. He worked at Winnebago Industries as a welder in the model shop.
In 1988 he started his own business, Schulze Welding and Machine, Inc., where he catered to fabricating new ideas until 1996. He then started at Basic Materials Corp. in Fertile where he ran loader and later became shop foreman.
Bruce loved riding his motorcycle, road trips, remote control toys and racing his go-cart at Forest City. He also enjoyed camping and fishing, and especially spending time with his family and friends. Bruce was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Clear Lake.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Diane Schulze, of Clear Lake; two sons, Steven Schulze and his wife, Cassie, of Forest City, and Ryan Schulze and fiancee, Kalyn Gullic, of Mason City; grandson, Trenton Schulze of Mason City; father, Randy Schulze and his wife, Debbie, of Forest City; mother, Blanche Schulze of Clear Lake; two brothers, Rick Schulze of Garner and Jeff Schulze and significant other, Yesenia Jimenez, of Clear Lake; father-in-law, John Hermanson and fiancee, Trish Busch, of Scarville; and stepfather-in-law, Craig Benson, of Lake Mills; five brothers-in-law, Pat Hermanson and his wife, Michelle, of Scarville, Tim Hermanson and his wife, Nicole, of Lake Mills, Chris Hermanson and his wife, Angie, of Bloomington, Minn., Chuck Olson of Scarville, and Chad Benson and his wife, Quincey, of Forest City; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews and special friends.
Bruce was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Dorothy Benson; step mother-in-law, Marcia Hermanson; and brother-in-law, Donovan Hermanson.

CHARLES CITY - Loyd Barry, 70, of Charles City, passed away Saturday, (March 21, 2009) at the Ninth Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City surrounded by his family after a long courageous fight with Parkinson's Disease .

A funeral Mass for Loyd Barry will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The Rev. Carl Ries will celebrate the Mass. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Charles City.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City from 4 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, where the Vigil Scriptural Wake Service will be at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church an hour prior to the Mass.

Loyd John Barry was born on Jan. 21, 1939, at Lincoln, Neb., the son of Francis and Inez (Hartz) Barry. In 1956, he graduated from Valparaiso High School, Valparaiso, Neb., and later from Nebraska Barber College.

On May 13, 1961, Loyd was married to Judith Woodard at Agnew, Neb. They later divorced. On Feb. 21, 1995, he was united in marriage to Joyce Shollenbarger Kingery in the Cayman Islands.

Loyd was a barber in Lincoln for 15 years moving to Charles City in 1972 when he purchased the Comet Bowl. In May of 1984 he opened the Choo-Chew Supper Club which he operated until his retirement in 1999.

Loyd was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, was past president of the Nebraska State Barbers Association, Iowa Bowling Proprietors Association, Charles City Bowling Association Hall of Fame, Charles City Chamber of Commerce, Elks Lodge for 43 years and the Moose Lodge for 34 years. He enjoyed family, food, friends and lots of fun.

Living family members include his wife, Joyce, of Charles City; five children, Paula (Ron) Blount of Amana, Peggy (David) Sweet of Charles City, Mark (Jessica) Barry of Charles City, Kristi (Ruben) Islas of Kansas City, Mo., and Kelly (Kathy) Kingery of Osage; 11 grandchildren: Ryan Klein, Barry (Michelle) Sweet, Samantha (Jake Hubert) Sweet, Tad (Cari Lucas) Barry, Trent Barry, Stephani Barry, Sarah Barry, Kaden Barry, Ceth Barry, Jared Islas and Jacob Islas; a brother, Louis (Marg) Barry of Valparaiso, Neb.; a sister, Ellen (Gary) Hellerich of Valparaiso, Neb; three brothers-in-law, Donald (Nancy) Shollenbarger of Clermont, Fla., Dennis (Vickie) Shollenbarger of Charles City, and David (Kellie) Shollenbarger of Marshalltown.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a daughter-in-law, Shelli Barry.

DOWS - Otto Ragnar "Bud" Johanson passed away on Saturday (March 21, 2009) at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa in Mason City at the age of 90 years.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2009, at First Lutheran Church in Dows with Pastor Bob Edwards officiating.

Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at First Lutheran Church in Dows. Burial will be in Otis Grove Cemetery near Dows.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.

Otto Ragnar Johanson, the son of Otto E. and Anna M. (Williamson) Johanson, was born on May 24, 1918, in Badger, Iowa. He was raised and educated in the area of his birth, graduating from Fort Dodge High School in 1939.

He served in the United States Navy during World War II, from April of 1942 until his honorable discharge in October of 1945.

On Oct. 15, 1944, Bud was united in marriage with Amy D. Oakland, in Badger. The couple lived in Laurel, Iowa, where Bud managed a lumberyard. In 1951, they moved to Dows and started farming, retiring in 1989.

Bud loved horses, gardening and woodworking.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Maurice Johanson; sister, Charlotte Fevold and a granddaughter, Andrea Johanson.

Survivors include his wife, Amy Johanson; sons: Paul M. Johanson and wife, Melissa, of Leland, Dennis B. Johanson and wife, Gloria, of Britt, Mark E. Johanson and wife, Jackie, of Duchesne, Utah, and John S. Johanson and wife, Lisa, of Arlington Heights, Ill; daughters: Diane Ryerson and husband, Rich, of Pella and Cynthia Wilson and husband, Wyman, of Vancouver, Wash.; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and a sister, Oline Chantland of Fort Dodge.

MASON CITY -Jule Francisco Servantez, 53, of Mason City, died Friday, March 20, 2009, at his home, peacefully in his sleep.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2009, at Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 Third Street N.E., Mason City, with the Rev. Kenneth B. Gehling officiating. Jule's family has suggested that everyone attending wear casual attire. Inurnment will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City with full military honors conducted by members of the Mason City Veterans Memorial Association.

BRITT - William "Bill" Tegtmeyer, 90, of Britt, died Sunday (March 22, 2008) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.

AUSTIN, Minn. -Evelyn H. Accurso, 92, of Austin, died at her home, Sunday morning (March 22, 2009).

Evelyn was born on Nov. 12, 1916, in Mason City, Iowa, to Charles and Madge (Barr) Snipps. She grew up in Mason City where she graduated from Holy Family High School. She earned a degree from Mason City School of Cosmetology.

She married John Accurso on Jan. 15, 1937, at Mason City. The couple moved to Austin in 1945. Evelyn worked as an aide at the Cedar Child Care Center.

She loved the Minnesota Twins and enjoyed quilting, reading, and belonged to a quilting club.

She is survived by two sons, Charles (Joyce) Accurso, of Amarillo, Texas, and Richard (Marjorie) Accurso, of Celina, Tenn.; seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Lucille Balek, of Mason City; a brother-in-law, Anthony Accurso, of Bancroft, and many relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 26, 2009, at St. Augustine Catholic Church, with Father Joe Fogal, officiating.

Internment will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25, at Worlein Funeral Home in Austin, Minn., with a 4:30 p.m. rosary service.

LELAND - Wynnette Faye Foss, 60, of Leland, died Saturday (March 21, 2009) at the Muse Norris Hospice Unit in Mason City.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2009, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Leland, with Pastor Tim Miller, officiating. Burial will take place at Forest Home Cemetery, Leland.

Wynnette Faye Foss was born on Aug. 12, 1948 in Forest City, the daughter of Wilma (Anderson) Bendickson and Frank Wesley Girard.

Wynnette loved her family, Our Savior's Lutheran Church, fishing, boating, gardening, hunting, canning, was a great cook and enjoyed watching cooking shows.

She worked several years at Larson Manufacturing in Lake Mills, and in 1983 started work at Winnebago Industries in Forest City, where she worked for 25 years until her health failed. Also, at the same time she worked at Winnebago, she ran an independent home interior decorating consultant business from her home.

Wynnette is survived by her two sons, Johnny (Shelly) Aanrud, of Ankeny; Jerry (and special friend Melody Oakes) Aanrud, of Chicago, Ill.; five grandchildren, Justin, Kayla and Kelsey Aanrud, Michelle and Austin Aanrud; a very special friend, Ken Underwood, from North Carolina; brothers, Wayne (Ann) Girard, of St. Paul, Minn.; Wynn (Rita) Girard, of Mechanicsville, Va.; Warren Girard, of Jacksonville, Fla.; and sister, Wendy (Steven) Strand, of Forest City; step-mother, Nadine Girard, of Northwood; step-brother, Jerry (Peggy) Peterson, of Glenville, Minn.; along with several other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Girard; and step-father, Jerry Bendickson.

URBANDALE - Donald (Don) Groh, 72, of Urbandale, formerly of Forest City, met his Lord and Savior on Saturday, (March 21, 2009).

Don had Saturdays as his Sabbath, on which he would read Bible scriptures and spend quiet time to reflect on his life and relationship with God.

He was a man of great character and kindness.

Don (Jeda) was born in Mason City, on Nov. 7, 1936. After high school he left Iowa and enlisted in the Navy. He served our country honorably for four years. He met and married his wife Milli in California. They returned to Iowa to raise their family. Recently, Don and Milli celebrated their golden wedding anniversary.

Don is survived by his wife, Milli; four sons and daughters-in-law along with their families. Don and Milli watched their sons play many a football game in high school and college. He was a father who enjoyed spending time over the years with his sons, fishing, hunting, golfing and laughing. Don's sweet smile and laughter will be dearly missed (along with stories of parties in Forest City.)

Don worked at Adessa Car Auction in Grimes. His presence will surely be missed by all who knew him and his family would like to thank everyone who had Don in their prayers.

His memorial service will be private.

CLEAR LAKE - Herman Kruger, 82, of 2205 S. Third St. in Clear Lake, died Sunday (March 22, 2009) at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa, Mason City.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2009, at the Evangelical Free Church, 1310 Highway 18 W., Clear Lake, with Pastor Daniel Jordan, officiating. Burial will be in Clear Lake Cemetery, Clear Lake.

Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. today at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. Fourth St., Clear Lake, and continue one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be directed to the Herman Kruger Memorial in care of Barbara Kruger, 2205 S. Third St. Clear Lake, IA 50428.

Herman Kruger was born on July 5, 1926, in Ackley, the son of Andrew and Jennie (Miller) Kruger. He was united in marriage to Barbara Wiggins on May 9, 1959, at the Wesley United Methodist Church, Mason City. Herman worked for the railroad and the creamery. He also farmed north of Iowa Falls.

In 1969, he moved to Ventura where he raised and sold feeder pigs until 1987. From 1957 until 1987, he was a salesman for Walnut Grove Feed Company, where he won many top salesman award trips.

Herman accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior Lord; he was a member of the Evangelical Free Church, Clear Lake, where he was an usher. He was involved with being a helper and listener for AWANA.

Herman enjoyed riding his moped, taking road trips, college basketball and football. His greatest love was spending time with his family and friends.

Herman is survived by his wife, Barbara Kruger, of Clear Lake; children, David (Christine) Kruger, of Florida, Dwight (Patty) Kruger, of Indiana, Mike Kruger, of Clear Lake, Danny Kruger, of Clear Lake, Kendall (Deb) Kruger, of Ankeny, Kevin Kruger, of Garner, and Michelle Kruger, of Garner; grandchildren, Jessie, Candace, Jamie, Carrie, Derick, Nicole, Whitney, John, Zach, Nick, Kaleb, Karah, Alicia, Danielle, Jordan, Victoria, Keaton, Dawson, Lennice, and Isaiah; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Agnes Pieper, of Dallas, Texas, Jennie (Paul) Warschkow, of Hampton, Grace Roberson, of Garner; brothers, Roy (Leila) Kruger and Frank (Ethel) Kruger, of Cameron, Wis.; along with several nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

MASON CITY - Jule Francisco Servantez, 53, of Mason City, died Friday (March 20, 2009) at his home, peacefully in his sleep.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2009, at the Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E. Mason City, with the Rev. Kenneth B. Gehling, officiating. Jule's family has suggested that everyone attending wear casual attire. Inurnment will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City with full military honors conducted by members of the Mason City Veterans Memorial Association.

Visitation with a viewing will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. today, March 24, 2009, at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel.

Memorials may be directed to the family in memory of Jule.

Jule was born on July 28, 1955, in Mason City, the son of Mike and Virginia (Branstad) Servantez. He attended school in Mason City, and then enlisted and was honorably discharged from the United States Navy.

Jule married Debbie (Garman) in 1976, and to this union three children were born. They were divorced in 2001. Jule worked at Universal Manufacturing Ford in Algona, until he became employed with Varied Industries, which is where he was presently working.

He enjoyed racing, playing Frisbee golf, fishing, collecting movies, watching bald eagles, and helping his oldest son, J.R., with his race car. Jule was a Vikings football fan, and a Jeff Gordon fan. Above all, Jule loved his family, especially his grandchildren, who lovingly called him "Papa," which he was very proud of.

Jule is survived by his children, Heather Servantez, of Mitchellville, J.R. BRITT - William "Bill" Tegtmeyer, 90, of Britt, died Sunday (March 22, 2009) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the First Lutheran Church in Britt, with the Rev. Lee Nelson officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery with military rites by the Britt Veterans Ceremonial Unit.

Visitation will be held from 4 until 7 p.m. today at the Cataldo Funeral Home in Britt and will continue one hour prior to services at the church.

William "Bill" Tegtmeyer, the son of Wilhelm and Clara (Schoening) Tegtmeyer, was born on Jan. 14, 1919, on the family farm in Orthel Township in Hancock County. He attended Orthel No. 5 rural school, graduated from Britt High School in 1937 and continued his education at Britt Junior College.

Bill proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II in North Africa, Italy and France. Following his honorable discharge in November of 1945, he was awarded four bronze stars.

On Feb. 20, 1946, he married Ruth Boldt at the United Methodist Church in Britt. They lived northwest of Britt where they farmed and raised their family. After Ruth passed away in September of 1992, Bill remained on the farm and helped his son, Alan, farm. He enjoyed spending his winters in Weslaco, Texas.

He was a member of First Lutheran Church, serving on the church council and was a trustee for Britt Township for many years. He also was an active member of the Britt American Legion and VFW serving as past commander.

Bill is survived by three children and their families, daughter, Karen (Kenny) Terhark of Britt and their two children, Monica (Tony) Smidt and their son, Dylan, of Britt and Craig (Karie) Terhark and their two children, Terese and Kevin, of Britt; son, Dean (Janet) Tegtmeyer, of Clear Lake and their three children, Dean Jr. (Heather) Tegtmeyer and their two children, Maegan and Devin, of Clear Lake, Tami Meyering and her two children, Brooke and Cody, of Clear Lake and Kari (Jerry) Flaherty, of Mason City; son, Alan Tegtmeyer, of Britt; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth; his parents; three sisters, Laura Tegtmeyer, Alma Wermerson and Alice Schaefer; and two brothers, Clarence and Arthur Tegtmeyer.

OSAGE - Gertrude (Norby) Crowell, 93, of Osage, died Monday (March 23, 2009) at the Faith Lutheran Home in Osage.
Gertrude was born Dec. 27, 1915, in rural Osage, the daughter of Hjalmer and Matilda (Olsen) Norby. She graduated from Osage High School and was also a graduate of Hamilton Business College in Mason City.
She was united in marriage to Glenn Crowell on June 18, 1939, at the Osage Lutheran Church. She was a lifetime member of Rock Creek Lutheran Church.
Gertrude enjoyed making quilts, giving away hundreds of quilts to the Lutheran World Relief, Faith Lutheran Home, various other organizations and family and friends. She was a member of the "Sewing Club," which was a social and work group of eight couples who farmed and raised families together since the 1940s.

Kobliska, Clarence E.  
 
ALTA VISTA - Clarence E. Kobliska, 66, of Alta Vista, died Monday (March 23, 2009) at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 26, 2009, at St Bernard's Catholic Church in Alta Vista with Father Ray Atwood as celebrant. Burial will be in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Alta Vista.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, March 25, at the Conway-Kolbet Funeral Home in Elma, with a rosary at 4:30 p.m. Visitation will continue at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Thursday.

Clarence Edward Kobliska was born on Jan. 23, 1943, to Edward and Rita (Kuehn) Kobliska in Elma. He attended Immaculate Conception Catholic School in Elma. Clarence worked on the family farm until he joined the National Guard.
He was united in marriage to Leone Kacher at Assumption Catholic Church in Little Turkey in 1968 and to this marriage two sons were born, Ricky and Bobby. Clarence worked for Pritchards as a farm hand. He later worked for Wallace Wright near Riceville. He then purchased his own truck which began Kobliska Trucking.
He was united in marriage to Vickey Hockenson on Aug. 11, 1979, at The Little Brown Church In The Vale at Nashua and to this marriage two sons were born, Roger and Darron. In 1981 they renewed their vows at St. Bernard's Catholic Church. He later leased his trucks to Michaelsen Truck Line in Mason City before leasing to Decker Truck Line in Fort Dodge. He also enjoyed spending time in his shed refurbishing pallets.
Clarence loved fishing, boating, hunting and family gatherings. He loved his dog D.K., who was his right hand pup. Clarence was characterized by his love for his family, his faith in God, his hard work ethic, infinite wisdom and defining laugh.
He was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Alta Vista. He will be greatly missed by his many friends and family.
Clarence is survived by wife, Vickey, of Alta Vista; three sons, Ricky and Bobby Kobliska, of Alta Vista, and Roger (Amber) Kobliska, of Davenport; three grandchildren, Tylor, Josie and Kaden Kobliska; his mother, Rita Kobliska, of Alta Vista; four sisters Dorothy (Greg) Holder, of Tampa, Fla., Lucille (Pete) Curtis, of Evansdale, Alice (Pat) O'Tool, of Nora Springs, and Joan Kobliska, of Alta Vista; four brothers, Raymond (Marlys) Kobliska, of Elma, Leonard (Dorothy) Kobliska, of Raymond, John (Judy) Kobliska, of Elma, and Vincent Kobliska, of Waterloo; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Clarence also guided and loved Renee Perry and Andy Folkers as if they were his very own.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edward, and son Darron.

MASON CITY - Ron Krutsinger, 68, of Mason City, died Tuesday (March 24, 2009) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit.

McMains, Helen L.  
 
MASON CITY - Helen L. McMains, 94, joined her Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ, on Sunday (March 22, 2009) after five months of ill health.
Helen was a longtime member of the Mark Baptist Church in Davis County until 2003 when she and LaVern moved to Mason City to be closer to their daughter.
Helen was born May 11, 1914 to Lewis and Jeannette Kimball and was raised in several small towns in Southern Iowa. She attended seven different schools and graduated from Moulton High School in 1933. Her father, Lewis, started Benner T grocery stores requiring the family to move nine times during Helen's 12 years of school.
Helen accepted Christ at a young age and continued serving Christ all of her life. She played the piano for church for almost 70 years.
She married LaVern McMains on Nov. 25, 1933, and to this union three children were born. They farmed for 45 years in the Mark, Iowa, area. Their lives were centered around the church, family, and hard work. They retired in 1978 and moved to Bloomfield, living at 406 N.W. St. for 25 years before their move to Mason City. They joined the First Baptist Church, where their son-in-law, Ron, is the pastor.
Helen was faithful to read the Bible daily and attend church services. She enjoyed music, crocheting, gardening, sewing, visiting and telling grandchildren about her early life. She and LaVern had 72 years and Nine months together. Their children had hosted many celebrations honoring anniversaries and birthdays with family gathering from all over the United States to be with them.
Survivors include three children, Charles (Judy) of Mesa, Ariz., Karen (Ron) Stein, of Mason City, and Phil, of Biloxi, Miss.; nine grandchildren, 28 great -grandchildren, sister-in-law, Annabelle Kimball; nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one brother, Harold Kimball.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the First Baptist Church, 125 E. State St., Mason City, IA 50401.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 27, at the Wagler Funeral Home, Bloomfield, with the Rev. Ronald Stein, officiating.
Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, March 26, at the funeral home in Bloomfield.

DUMONT - Ernest E. Meyer, 73, of rural Dumont, died Monday (March 23, 2009) at his home.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Kesley Presbyterian Church in Kesley with Pastor Tamara Entin officaiting. Burial will be in the Dumont Cemetery.

Oldham, Barbara Ann  
 
MASON CITY - Barbara Ann (Huffman-Meyer) Oldham, 68, of Mason City, died Monday (March 23, 2009) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 26, 2009, at the Holy Family Catholic Church, 714 N. Adams Ave., Mason City, with the Rev. Jon M. Seda officiating.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2009, at the Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E. Mason City, with a rosary service at 6:30 p.m., followed by a scriptural wake.
Memorials may be made to the Barbara Oldham Memorial Fund.
Barbara Ann was born April 28, 1940, in Charles City, to Alice (Jordan) and Chester Huffman. She received her GED when she was 35 from NIACC in Mason City. She moved to Mason City Nov. 24, 1973, and started her own business, Tropical Fish Unlimited, June 16, 1973. Barbara married John R. Oldham Nov. 10, 1975.
Her first love was her husband, children and grandchildren. She loved her fish and pets, computer, crocheting, playing pool and fishing.
She is survived by her four daughters, BrendaSue Meyer of Eagle Grove, Trisha (John) Barnish of Charles City, Imelda (Les) Bertrand of Jacksonville, Fla., and Paula (Barry) Douglas of Jacksonville, Fla.; four sons, William Meyer and (Linda) of Linn Grove, August (Monica) Meyer of Nashua, Allan (Heather) Meyer of Mason City and John R. Oldham Jr. of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; her sister, Marcy (Andy) Nixt, of Greene; and brothers, Chester (Marlene) Huffman, of Charles City and Jim (Dixie) Huffman, of Mesa, Ariz.
Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, John Oldham Sr., March 13, 2004; mother, Alice Huffman, on May 5, 1992; and father, Chester Huffman, on Oct. 22, 1992; and sons, Richard Oldham on May 9, 1989, and Frank Oldham on June 14, 2003; her sister, Dixie Waterbury in January, 2007; and two grandchildren, Joshua Barnish and Christopher Sears.

Vold, Lynn A.  
 
FOREST CITY - Lynn A. Vold, 54, of Forest City, died on Sunday (March 22, 2009) at his home in Forest City.
A memorial visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. today, Wednesday, March 25, at the Petersen Lund Funeral Home, 505 N. Clark St. in Forest City. Inurnment will be a private family service at Oakland Cemetery at a later date.
There will be no formal funeral services
Lynn A. Vold was born in Albert Lea, Minn., on Feb. 18, 1955, the son of Donald O. and Juanita Mae (Straley) Vold. Lynn received his elementary education in Lake Mills and graduated from Forest City High School in 1973.
He attended NIACC for a brief time before beginning to work at Winnebago Industries in Forest City, where he continued working for over 30 years.
Lynn enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved hunting and fishing and was a member of Ducks Unlimited.
Lynn is survived by his mother, Nita Vold; sister, Sheila McGuire and her husband, Patrick; niece and nephew, Hallie and Shaun McGuire; an uncle, Vernon (Betty) Vold; an aunt, Audra Kae (Lyle) Hansen; and many cousins, friends and co-workers.
Lynn was preceded in death by his father, Donald Vold, in 1991, and his grandparents.
