marriage

on June
9, 1939,
in
Hampton;
to this
union
two
children
were
born. He
worked
construction
for
different
companies
building
bridges,
later
retiring
from the
International
Chemical
Co.
After
retirement,
Arthur
worked
as an
automobile
mechanic.
Arthur
enjoyed
tinkering
in his
garage
working
on cars
and lawn
mowers;
he
especially
enjoyed
gardening
and
helping
anyone
that
needed
help.
Survivors

MASON CITY — Helene Ruth Wisner, 80, passed away on Friday (June 15, 2007) at Renown South Meadows Hospital, Reno, Nev.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday (June 20, 2007) at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 302 Fifth St. S.E., Mason City, with the Rev. Kenneth Gehling, officiating.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E., Mason City, where a rosary will be said at 6:15 p.m., followed by a Scriptural wake service at 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be directed to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church 302 Fifth St. S.E. Mason City, Iowa, 50401.
Helene was born on Nov. 18, 1926, the daughter of Joseph M. and Grace (Worth) Trayer in Mason City, Iowa. She attended and received her education from St. Joseph’s Catholic School and Mason City High School which she graduated from in 1944.
Helene was united in marriage to Edwin C. Wisner on Feb. 25, 1946 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1996.
Helene taught CCD for 10 years and was proud to be an Eucharistic minister at St. Joseph’s. She also enjoyed taking communion to the homebound. She practiced and enjoyed foot reflexology for more than thirty years and wanted to be remembered as the “Foot Lady.” Helene and Edwin were avid ballroom dancers and could be seen frequently at the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake. They were featured on the CBS television program “60 Minutes” in 1986 as prominent ballroom dancers.
Survivors include one daughter, Marilou Woolm, Reno, Nev.; three sons, David Wisner, Sioux Falls, S.D.., Steven Wisner and his wife, Jean, Frisco, Texas, and Terry Wisner and his wife, Lori, Mason City; along with six grandchildren, Cheryl Cole, Jennifer Woolm, Christina Wisner, Angela Wisner, Amanda Wisner and Joel Wisner.
She was preceded in death by her parents, spouse, two brothers, John Trayer and Joseph Trayer and two sisters, Fern Retweisch and Evelyn Schaper.

OSAGE — Katherine Bullis, 81, of Osage, died Friday (June 15, 2007) at the Heritage Care Center in Mason City.
Katherine was born on April 23, 1926, at Osage, Iowa, the daughter of Gilman and Myrtle (Hansen) Rust. She graduated from St. Ansgar High School in 1943. Katherine attended Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls where she received her teaching certificate.
In September of 1947, Katherine married Vallejo “Joe” Bullis at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. They lived in Charles City and St. Ansgar before moving to Osage in 1954. She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Osage. Katherine and Joe enjoyed traveling.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2007, at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage with the Rev. George Hope officiating. Burial will be at the First Lutheran Cemetery in St. Ansgar, Iowa.
Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Monday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage.
Katherine is survived by her husband, Vallejo “Joe” Bullis of Osage; a son, Ronald Bullis of Mason City; and a daughter, Susan Bullis of Mason City.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Nancy Bullis; and three brothers, Gene, Charles, and Allen Rust.

FOREST CITY — Earl W. “Toad” Fox, Jr., 92, of Forest City died Friday (June 15, 2007) at the Good Samaritan Center in Forest City.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Petersen Lund Funeral Home in Forest City with the Rev. Jon Rollefson officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Forest City.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Petersen Lund Funeral Home and will continue one hour prior to services on Tuesday.
Earl W. “Toad” Fox, Jr., the son of Clyde and Jennie (Smith) Fox, was born on Nov. 30, 1914, in Ellington Township, Hancock County on the Abe Fox place.
On August 20, 1934, “Toad” married Vivian Mae Nelson. He and Vivian had eight children: Beverly, Marsha, Ron, Tom, Mary Jane, John, Clifton and Craig. Toad worked various jobs in his 92 years, including working for veterinarian Dr. Jerry Jorgensen, and also working the ring on sale days at the Forest City Sale Barn for 50 years. He retired from Winnebago Industries about 30 years ago. His favorite pastime was coon hunting.
He is survived by his wife, Vivian, of Forest City; children, Marsha, Ron, Tom, Mary Jane, John, Clifton and Craig; 23 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Bill; and sisters, Margie, Jennie Mae and Helen Jean.
“Toad” was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Beverly; a granddaughter, Gail; two sons-in-law, Allan Berg and Rudy Martinson; two brothers, Kay and Creighton “Chic”; two sisters-in-law, Alice Fox and Kathryn Fox; and one brother-in-law, Roger Nelson.

MASON CITY — Jerry Eugene Krumm Sr., 52, of 206 First St. S.W., died Sunday (June 17, 2007) at his home.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 21, at the Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E. in Mason City, with Pastor Tom Healey officiating. Inurnment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Jerry Eugene Sr. was born Jan. 26, 1955, in Mason City, the son of Robert and Ruth (Greene) Krumm. He attended Mason City Schools. Jerry worked as a scrap-metaler for most of his life and also worked at AMPI.
Jerry was a NASCAR enthusiast, and enjoyed fishing, camping, watching old movies, and working on automobiles; his greatest love was spending time socializing with his family and friends.
Jerry is survived by his children Jerry Jr. (Christina) Krumm of Mason City, Jesse Krumm of Mason City, and Kassie Krumm of Mason City; grandchildren, Jessica Krumm, Alexander and Cierra Pfeffer, all of Mason City; siblings, Chuck Hampton of Indianapolis, Ind., Bob (Sonia) Hampton of Mason City, Barb (Vic) Garza of Buffalo Center, Dan (Carrie) Krumm of Mason City, Lori Krueger of Mason City, and Doug (Taunya) Krueger of Mason City; along with several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

John J. Riekena
John J. Riekena, 82, of Warrensburg, Mo., passed away Saturday (June 16, 2007) at the Country Club Care Center.
He was born on May 31, 1925, in Woden, Iowa, the son of Joe and Gesena (Ohden) Riekena.
On Dec. 28, 1952, he married Wilma Rasmussen in Forest City. She survives of the home.
Mr. Riekena served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1952 during the Korea War. Mr. Riekena did farming, maintenance for Warren County, Iowa, and was a manufacturing supervisor for various companies.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Warrensburg, Mo.; American Legion Post 131, VFW Post 2513 and Disabled American Veterans.
He is survived by his wife, Wilma; daughter, Chalice Jeffries and husband, Mike, of Warrensburg, Mo.; two sons, Tom Riekena and wife, Sarah, of De Soto, Kan., and Tim Riekena and wife, Tami, of Chillicothe, Mo. a brother, Clarence Riekena, of Cleveland, Minn.; seven grandchildren, Paul Jeffries and wife, Sarah, of Independence, Joel Jeffries of Warrensburg, Emily Mills and husband, Paul, Dillon Cook and wife, Kristin, both of Olathe, Kan., Kayla Riekena, John Riekena and Daniel Riekena, all of Chillicothe; two great-granddaughters, Eva Mills and Kaylee Cook; and the LaHacienda family in Apache Junction, Ariz., where winter months were spent.
He is preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Ben Rank, Wendel and Pete Riekena; and one sister, Mary Ausenhaus.
Memorial services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 22, at the First United Methodist Church of Warrensburg, Mo., with the Rev. Sally Haynes officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Missouri Veteran’s Cemetery in Higginsville, Mo. Full military honors will be provided at the cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until time of services Friday at the church.
